I purchased the following from Second Chance Salvage for 55,000 KS, and while I could use all of these craft, I would like to check if the SAoY would like them before I do anything with them. The location of the Mishhu craft's salvage seems to indicate that it is a remnant of the last war, though I purchased it for its thick Yamataium hull.

At this time, Star Army Logistics is asserting its right to claim salvaged Yamataian warships, in this case the two intact Yui-class, the Yui-class fragment, and the Ayame-class fragment. In recognition of your service and in thanks for bringing your possession of these items to our attention, we will reimburse you for the purchases we are claiming and provide you a cash reward of 2000 KS per intact ship and 1000 KS per ship fragment, in total 56,000 KS. You are instructed to arrange the handing over of the aforementioned ships and fragments to Star Army Logistics representatives as soon as can be arranged.

I purchased the following from Second Chance Salvage, and like last time am bringing them to your attention. I paid in a lump sum along with other items and Mishhu craft to save money, paying a total of 700,000 KS, so I do not have specific prices for the various ships. There is also an occupied ST Device included.

The Second Chance Salvage Company has additional Star Army of Yamatai items which could be reclaimed as well, of varying degrees of importance. Fortunately, they decline to sell more key items without verification of membership within the army. I would recommend that they be checked regularly for their findings.

Note that I am including the Elysian craft due to their Annexation into the army, making it a potential SAoY craft. Obsolete SAoY ships not wanted by Logistics are wanted by me, but Logistics has first pick. Also, the repair of the Chiharu can hopefully be hastened with the Chiharu rear half which is also included.

Subject: Unexpected procurement of NMX Field Rations -- wish to send for genetic analysis

In my purchase of assorted salvaged items, I have obtained a million NMX Type 31 Field Rations which were thrown in with a large purchase. As the meat patties in these rations are often made of our own soldiers' flesh, I wish to send these rations to the Army for genetic analysis.

It is my hope that they can be used to confirm the deaths of MIA personnel as KIA, and allow more swift revival of those personnel through Soul Transfer.

Please send them to the depot at Virginia where we can store them until we can get a larger center set up for analyzing them.

Acknowledged. I have arranged shipping to Virginia, and anticipate that they will all be at the depot by the end of the week.

Subject: Unofficial/low priority, Interested in damaged blade edge from YSS Yui for conversion into Yui Scout Ceremonial Sword

This is not so much an official request, but I am interested in locating and securing old and damaged pieces of the YSS Yui's bladed front edge, as close to the tip of the ship as possible. It is my hope that these can be made into official Yui Scout Ceremonial Swords, specifically as a gift to my Taisa, Ketsurui Hanako. I ask for two blades because it is only right that the first blade crafted be given to Ketsurui Yui-Taisho, with the Taisa getting the second.

If this requires purchase, please reply with the cost.

To whom it may concern, it has come to my attention that my wardrobe has been forced to change several times within the last four years, and with multiple variations, all of which have resulted in needless clutter. As a long-time veteran of this Grand Star Army, I find that as of late we have become victim to the whimsies of fashion, which has overtaken our sense of practicality.

Due to the large number of uniform variations and changes, the following issues have become prominent;

  • Inability to readily recognize friendlies.
  • Needless clutter of personal space aboard confines of starships.
  • Lack of uniform appearance due to variations.
  • Increased cost when manufacturing uniforms from raw materials.
  • Increased power output cost when manufacturing uniforms from nodal devices.
  • Newer uniforms are able to snag, or be grasped upon easily making them a liability.
  • Newer uniforms add bulk, which hinders the ability of a soldier to quickly put on an AMES in the event of an emergency.
  • Due to the design of the current uniform, interchangeability between individuals is limited, thus making logistics focus on an individual basis when providing uniforms.

Due to these issues, it is my personal recommendation as a field officer that Star Army Logistics considers the re-release of the old Type 22 Uniform, or develop a modern variant which conforms to the same appearance and function of the Type 22, with any improvements which could be made.

With thanks for your time -

Subject: Small Arms

Recently it has come to my attention that small arms available within the confines of standard-issue equipment are lacking. Standard issue armory configurations distinctively lack the following equipment.

  • Standard issue service rifles, aside from the LASR, which NH-29 are unable to use while outside of a power armor.
  • High-accuracy long-range weapons such as precision long-guns made by in-house manufacturer.
  • Solid-munition weapons intended for environments in which scalar-pulse based weapons are not recommended.
  • Low power output weapons intended for covert deployments.
  • Up-to-date explosive ordinance in the form of mines, grenades, missile launching systems, and similar equipment.
  • Less-than-lethal ordinance aside from the stun-setting of the standard service arm, while effective, it has the possibility of detonating ordinance.
  • Personnel mobility equipment; deploying personnel require the capacity to make planet fall since non-Nekovalkryja personnel have been permitted to continue service. Furthermore, aquatic mobility equipment would possibly prove useful.
  • Standard issue optics and sensor equipment.
  • Weapon stabilizing equipment, bipods, monopods, other similar equipment.
  • Readily interchangeable munitions and parts, due to the recent introduction of Elysian equipment, ammunition is not readily interchangeable between armaments, and weapon servicing requirements are diversified, thus increasing complication and time required for familiarization.
  • Specialized munitions and weapon systems for armor-piercing, against the current NMX threat, current non-PA small-arms weapon systems are underpowered, and desire upgrades to munitions with higher velocities, or improved design and composition.

These observations have been made by a simple intelligence officer, request that additional investigation be made by arms specialists.

Thank you for your time -

Subject: Re: Uniforms

You recommend the re-release of the bodysuit uniform but at the same time, you complain about there being too many uniform variations. Make up your mind. The bodysuit was dropped to streamline the uniform collection, and re-adding it will increase the amount of uniforms. The better reason to re-authorize the bodysuit uniform for wear would be to use up older stockpiles in equipping new nekos make for the war effort.

To: Taisho Yui

My apologies Taisho, I phrased my complaint poorly. Please forgive my inability to properly phrase my complaint. What the core meaning of my statement referred to was a general distaste for the creation of new uniform variants in the first place, when we had excellently crafted and engineered uniforms since the introduction of the YE 22 variant. I appreciate what the Empire has given us all, ma'am, though as a field operative I would personally enjoy the practicality of the YE 22 uniform design, and would be thankful for a re-release of the pattern. Again, my most sincere apologies for my nostalgia fueled statements, Taisho.

Humbly,
Chusa Helen Klein
