RP [Task Force Inquisition] Mission 1, Space Phase - Don't Fear the Reaper

Deck 70

Not yet satisfied with the result of the fight, and further fueled by the annoyance and rage of the enemies retreatin, Yama let off the trigger, putting the searing whine of flame to an end. She slung the flamethrower around, holstering it in place next to the double fuel tanks on her back. moving her shield to the side, she yanked her SiZi revolver from its belt holster, raising the firearm to give the dishonorable combatants a cowards end- heavy slugs through the back of their armored heads. First, the one that fell- that one was more of a mercy killing. Then, the comrades that left it do die.

Once all had fallen quiet in the bay, Yama holstered the revolver. She turned, surveying the destruction as she spoke out into the comms with Midori as she made her way towards the distant breach point. "I'll be there." The Neko engineer continued by opening a line to the other teams. "Deck 70 appears to be clear, checking for remaining hostiles. How are we holding up down there?"

Deck 64

Miko stepped back away from the busted Rixxikor body. There was certain amount of satisfaction he felt having bested another foe in order to save his friends. It was a bitter sweet feeling as he only wanted to cook and be with Sora yet these people stood in his way of this. As such they had to go, there was no other option nor did he want there to be.

Miko turned and stepped back towards the medic giving the other armor a heart warm hug. Even though the HUD clearly showed the person in the armor was Sora, this did not seem to really click for him. Either he missed this fact or was just that focused on the mission not to notice. None the less he walked over to them and placed a hand on the crying woman.

"I shall see what I can do to patch this hole." His voice was soft yet firm as be continued to walk past her. He looked around to find anything he could use to mend together a makeshift plug to plug the hole.

Deck 64

"Okay. I can help move the wounded with you." Repairing just... wasn't really her thing - Sora liked being more in the front of the action, not sitting around fiddling with wires and cables. She helped two wounded soldiers - one's uniform soaked in enough hemosynth to look like a Technician's outfit, with a nasty gash in her abdomen - out of the room - carrying them out carefully and supporting their necks and backs mostly as she did so.

Fighters

Returning to formation in a limp, the dual-pilot Mamushi leaked a bit of Aether from a cracked engine cone; this dribble of energy faded a hundred meters behind them, but was stemming slowly like a cut on the finger. The starfighter had switched to CFS propulsion only - the damage probably came from that latcher. Regardless, the twin Elysians inside breathed deeply and quickly, trying to calm down after the climax of the battle had dissipated. Their functional cannons rotated coolly, tracking several of the nearby armors with caution - while the enemy forces were surrendering, that didn't mean a few wanted to bring another Yamataian ship down before they went.

Deck 70 - Breach

Midori stepped through the breach, her suit's NSB units doing their duty and keeping a watchful eye for any enemies that might pop up. She began to make her way back to the group that she had been fighting beside, her rifle up to watch for any stragglers and doing her best to be cautious. Her skin still stung from the explosion and she was sure her hair was a mess but oddly caught herself wondering why she cared. She just shook her head a little and sighed before she pinged Yama to inform her of the Samurai's approach.

"What happened to the other enemies?" She asked over the comm channel.

Deck 65

Biesecker's feint worked, the flickering and surge of light behind him creating just the distraction the Nepleslian officer needed to elbow-drop the Rixx like a wrestler. A sickening crack filled the room as the bugman's chitin fractured, a whooshing groan escaping the being as they fell unconcious beneath the craft. Shosho Kier's head whipped around, taking a mere moment to nod at his efforts and quick thinking before barking orders down comms.

Deck 64

Miko and Sora consoled the traumatised medic, their altruism in helping the wounded in the medbay clear and rewarded by the look of respect she held in her eyes. Their combined efforts had saved the people here from what could have easily been a much darker fate.

Deck 70

Deck 70 fell quiet as Yama and Midori dispatched the final breachers expertly. The blazing woman and the samurai had performed excellently, their hand-to-hand experise and improvisation saving what was an outmanned fight.

Space

Akira's AIES screamed warnings as she forced her reactor into the danger zone, though the remaining combatants brawling with her seemed to falter as they spotted something.

The previously near-dark Sharie, flickering with crimson and scarlet auxillary lights, suddenly sprang to life. From the center of the ship outwards, bright hues and the hum of technology swept across the vessel like a wave. Brightness bled into the dark void surrounding, dazzling onlookers momentarily at the surge. Dimming slightly as regulators kicked in fully.

Now, the weapons systems and turrets peppered across the hull became more visible, various ragged breaches rarely filling the space between them. Various cannons turned outwards from their idle positions, the previously near-flat hull now bristling with arms that glowed and suddenly lanced energy forth. Smashing into the thin swarm of enemies, even those brawling with friendlies, obliterating the remaining hostiles in an instant.

...

Kimberly's voice would penetrate every survivor's comms. "You all fought brilliantly, holding your own against a stronger foe. We lost a lot today, only a fraction of us are left to even hear this message. To you, this fight has proved your ability. This campaign will be tough but you are tougher. Inquisitors, we are victorious!"

DECK 70

Midori lowered her weapon as she heard Kimberly's voice ring out in the helmet of her suit. She let out a long sigh and shut her eyes for a moment as she tried to calm herself down some. As she finally made her way back to Yama she sent out a message to the shuttle pilot to inform him it was safe to dock. She would still need to gather her things after everything was said and done, but for now she looked to Yama. The red helmet of the SARAH looked over to the flamethrower woman.

"Are you ok? Any injuries?" Her own suit was scorched and dented up where she had taken damage in the shoulder, one of the shoulder mounted cannons no longer there.

Deck 70

Yama let out a cool sigh of relief as she closed the gas line leading into her flamethrower, stepping over the many hostile bodies that were in various states of being char-broiled. "Theyyyah tried to retreat," she exhaled. The Neko slid the grip of the Si-Zi revolver from her fingertips back into the holster as the combat engineer rounded the corner back to the breach point to intercept the returning Samurai.

"The Flamethrower Woman" nodded repeatedly as she checked over the damage at the breach. trying and admittedly failing at keeping cool. "Yes yes, I'm fine..!" She took a look around the damaged SARAH armor with a mix of excitement and disbelief, it was rare enough to see one of those, and on the feild nonetheless! With a Samurai in it! At this time of day! Localized entirely within this ship! Right next to her! Even at her age. she had never done that! Yama rounded back to the Samurais front, giving her an adequate bow. "Are you alright?? It looks like you got were caught by the explosion. Just a bit, nothing we can't patch up-"

Respectful, respectful.

Yama took a deep but quiet breath, before aptly introducing herself to Midori. "Moesashi Yama, Nitô Heisho, at your service."

Midori looked at Yama a bit oddly, though the fellow Neko wouldn't be able to see the expression, just the slight tilt of her head. She hadn't expected the girl to act so... excited, much less for a Samurai like her. She figured that the samurai were still somewhat shunned within the military after everything she had heard and as she had watched her sisters and herself lose the prestige they had once held. She hadn't truthfully been ready for it and was thankful for the helmet to hide her face and the soft blush across her face.

"Um.. Well yes... Nitô Juni Jo Midori, at your service." She offered back in return. "I am fine, just some damage to the suit. Nothing that can not be fixed." Her tone was cold and impassive as her helmeted head turned to examine the damage to her shoulder. "Where is the closest bay? Somewhere I can store my suit and go gather my things? The shuttle should be returning soon enough."
