"Lets see...something easy for tonight but fun, the meal should be fun hmm, Broccoli soup as a healthy side dish definitely interesting and easy enough to make, and pasta for a main dish with some fresh buns. Pasta is always a fun meal.â€

"Nope, do you think we have those little small rooms with bunks? I liked my room on the Destiny.." Carlos said, happy to change the subject. He'd never been on a ship like this before, just the Destiny, which was massive.

Somewhere druing all the lovely little events taking place on the Confidence a certain Power Armor Pilot by the name of Kazutaka Muraki could be seen wandering about the ship, the man having a very specific goal in mind. He was tired as anything and he needed to find himself a nice bed to sleep in. The poor guy had eagerly accepted his new orders telling him of his assignment to the 5th Expeditionary Fleet, only the orders never mentioned what ship he was actually supposed to be on. This lead to a near constant ship bouncing that deprived him of sleep while the fleet officers tried to find a ship that would take him. Eventually they found out he requested a specific ship in the fleet, albeit a temporary ship, and they finally stuck him on the Confidence.

As he finally made his way into the crew quarters to get the sleep he needed, he just happened to climb into the very bed Masako was occupying. Normally he'd have never done this, but sleep deprivation is a serious thing and his mind decided she was some kind of stuffed animal. Wrapping his arms around her, he started to drift into dreamland as a content sigh could be heard escaping him.

Muraki's choice of bed though woke young young neko up slightly. A little annoyed and still half asleep, Masako gently pushed the tired man away from her. But then, he mind awoke, causing her eyes to widen. What in the world was someone other than her sleeping in her bed and embracing her for?

Sitting up on the edge of her bed, Masako turned to look upon a face she hadn't seen in a while. "Muraki-san," she mumbled in a bit of confusion as she yawned again. "Excuse me," she said as she tapped his shoulder. "Santo Hei? What are you doing in my bed?"

Groaning a bit as he almost rolled out of the bed due to Masako's push, he too was a little bit annoyed. He'd been waiting a really long time to get some sleep and already someone is bothering him. The problem was that he was only half awake so he only vaguely heard his name being said. Another groan escaped him as she tapped his shoulder, his eyes flittering open slowly but not recognizing her form. As far as he was concerned, she was a figment of his imagination that didn't even look like she should. "Mmmmm . . . . not your bed talking cat plushy . . . . my bed . . . . so sleepy."

And with that his arm was around her again as he tried to snuggle with her, honestly believing her to be some kind of cat plushy at the moment. One could only guess what kind of pain of pain might be inflicted upon him from Masako if she decides to not be understanding.

Masako's ears perked up slightly in surprise as the enlisted man snuggled her waist. Now this was unusual for her...she never really had contact like this before and being called a 'plushie' really didn't help matters either.

"Santo Hei Kazutaka Muraki," she stated with a bit more authority than before. It was getting to the point where her politeness was going to transform into irritability due to being woken up. "I am not a cat plushie. If you remember me from the Nozomi, I am Joto Heisho Kurohoshi Masako," she emphasized the high rank.

"If you would please...release my waist and pick another bed, I would really appreciate it," she said as calmly as she could.

Muraki was only getting wierder now as he was spokent to, his mind refusing to cooperate out of a need for sleep. "Yep . . . that's me . . . Muraki. I remember Masako . . . we were attacked . . . she was really really cute. Need to find her again . . . ask her out . . . yeah . . ."

It was almost like she had some kind of creepy truth serum working on him, but it could also be he was playing with her now. Kind of hard to tell when someone's half asleep. One thing could be said for certain, Muraki was still holding on to Masako like she was a plushie.

Masako cheeks couldn't help but color into a pinkish tone as she listened to silver-haired Geshrin speak of her in such a way. Sighing a bit in both frustration and to calm herself, the young raven-eyed neko gently removed his arms from her.

"I warned you," she spoke as if speaking to a naughty child before pushing him off her bed entirely. Standing up, she walked around to look to see if he was alright.

All Muraki could get out before being pushed out of bed was a simple, "Huh? Warned?", then there was a thud and a slight groan as he hit the floor. When Masako did get around the bed, she'd see a humorous site, Muraki prett much standing on his head and one shoulder, as he somehow landed head first. Then with a bit of a twitch the tired pilot bolted up onto his feet and started blabbing. "Who in the hell do you think you are?!"

When he turned around to face Masako, the look of anger on his face quickly faded and was replaced by one of complete and utter shock. "M-Masako?! Holy . . . . is that . . . . is that really you? Wow! It's been awhile since we last spoke. Glad to see you're still ok. Well . . . um . . . how are ya? What's happened with you since then?"

Masako blinked for a moment before smiling down at Muraki. "A lot," she replied as she crouched down to look at him eye to eye. "It's good to see you are alright, Muraki-san. I'm sorry I pushed you off the bed, but you didn't seem to be listening to me properly," she explained before standing up and extending her hand to help him up.

"So you've been assigned to the 5th XF. Welcome aboard the Confidence."

Muraki yawned a bit as Masako apologized to him, shaking his head lazily in response. "No . . . no . . . don't apologize. I'm the one that climbed into a bed without looking to see who might be in it. I just havn't slept in close to two days . . . I've been on my feet for so long while they tried to reassign me. My orders were a little too vague so they stuck me on this ship."

Taking hold of Masako's hand, Muraki pulled himself up and smiled a bit, even if he still looked pretty tired. "Thank you for the welcome and checking to see if I survived your push . . . . um . . . I didn't say anything in my sleep did I? It usually happens when someone tries to wake me up."

Whether she said he did or not, there was sure to be at least a little bit of embarassment considering what was said.

Masako smiled at Geshrin, his embarassment was noticable to her though she didn't really know exactly why. "Well...you sort of embraced me and called me a cat plushie," she responded honestly.

Her own cheeks turned slightly pink remembering the other comments. "When I told you my name though...you called me cute and said something about wanting to ask me out," she said before chuckling lightly in good nature.

"But I'll have to pass Muraki-san," she teased lightly. "Only on the account of I haven't been 'asked out' before," she explained. "But maybe later on I'll change my mind," she stated to the silver-haired man in a laid back and friendly manner.

Muraki's jaw dropped a bit when the first details were said, the plushie incident one that would be more than just a little embarassing. Though were he a cartoon character, his jaw surely would have hit the ground when she told him what he had said about her. "I . . . I did? Oh man . . . I wasn't gonna say that out loud till I got to know you better. I havn't even had time to seriously flirt with you yet . . . and . . . and . . . wait. You what?"

Muraki looked to be snapped out of his tiredness, at least for now, when Masako passed on going out with him. He was a bit relieved when it came to avoiding his trial by fire, but it still kind of sucked. "Heh, sure . . . later. We really don't know much of anything about each other. Our conversation was interruped back on that transport . . . unfortunately. Though to be honest, I'm surprised to learn no one's asked you out before. I mean, well, you're so cute."

Arild finised rereading his orders. A bit of a change of plan, but he'd been in the military long enough to know that orders could change on a whim, and that the high ups could be very whimsical. That made him stop and think, sitting at his desk, in some ways he could be seen as a high up. Well not any more. He'd been in a position of commanding the largest ship the SA had ever made, thousands of crew, hundreds of escort ships. Now he commanded a single, small ship, a crew of 16, and only a small part of a exploratory fleet. Quite a bit of a step down. He sighed deeply, and downed a small glass of whisky, straightening his uniform and saluting in the mirror. If nothing else he still had his honour.

He decided on eating in the mess hall, with so few people on board there was no reason to use the Wardroom.

"Megami-san, can you communicate with the other officers that we are going to eat in the Mess hall."

"Yes Taisa."

Arild walked to the nearest mess hall, thinking. He seemed to be doing that a lot these days, and few of his thoughts where pleasing. He felt dirty for one reason or another, and that he was surounded by rot. Only a few hours ago he'd been scrubbing wildly at his skin in the shower. He was still sore.

He reached the mess hall, the doors sliding open with his aproach, and working his way past the tables, sat down at the head of one, back straight, posture perfect, and waited for everyone else to arrive.

Seekrin stirred the warm pot of broccoli soup; it was done and ready to be served. She peered at it scrutinizingly, serving up a mouthful into a side bowl for herself. She sniffed the bowl, the soup smelt good. Grabbing a spoon she tasted the finished product. "Ok, doesn't seem like it needs anything else" She placed the small bowl and spoon in the sink. The pasta was already done, it had taken less time then the soup, a hearty tomato and meat sauce coated the long thin noodles. To go with the pasta were small still warm and fresh buns.

Seekrin set the food out in a serve yourself sort of fashion. Seekrin neatly organized the area. Spoons, cups, bowls, plates, forks and knives were placed at the beginning of the line along with trays. Next in the line was the main dish, pasta with the proper serving utensils. Then came the broccoli soup, after that fresh buns and some condiments such as grated cheese, butter and pepper. Tonight's drink options were fruit punch, milk, or chocolate milk.

The cake would be placed out later she wanted to be sure everyone got a healthy meal first. Seekrin smiled scooting back into the kitchen. She pulled off her gloves, rinsing her hands. "Well I guess you can tell anyone who's awake that the meals ready right AI?"

She slipped into the mess hall looking around her ears twitched as she realized she wasn't alone. "Ummm I finished setting the meal out sir..." She stated, intimidated by Arild's size and stiff posture. She gulped in a breath of air and came closer. "Today there's broccoli soup, pasta, fresh buns..." She smiled brightly "and a special chocolate cake for dessert. If you want any special dishes prepared in the future feel free to tell me sir"

"I'll make sure to do that Nitô Heisho, thank you. But for today that meal sounds wonderful." Arild gave a small smile and went to serve himself. He only took a little, his appetite was not great these days, before sitting down again and eating. It did taste very good.

Kenda had managed to find himself an empty room, not really a big problem since there was enough rooms for everyone including the officers to have individual bunk rooms. He was just finishing up stuffing his clothes into one of the drawers, making sure to only take up half of it just in case they ever got more crew, when the AI informed him that dinner was ready. He finished up his unpacking after acknowledging, stuffing his duffel bags under the bottom bunk bed, having claimed it for his own anyway, and setting the archaic calculator down on the table before striding out of the room and to the mess hall, following the AI's directions whenever he was unsure.

When he arrived, he noted the two others in the room before him, and snapped a quick salute "Captain" and nodding to the other one. Seeing the self-serve looking setup, he made his way over to the table, and got himself a decent sized sampling of the different sized dishes, before maneuvering to one of the many empty tables near the door, beggining to eat in silence.

Masako's cheeks flushed again in a pinkish tone as he called her cute again. If he planned on continuing to call her cute, it definitely going to be something she would have to get used to. But at the moment, it was a bit embarassing and she was lucky no one else was around. "In any case," she replied after clearing her throat quietly.

"We might as well check in on the galley and see if we can get something to eat," Masako suggested. "Since it seems like we aren't sleepy anymore." she added with a smile.

Muraki blinked a few times at the mentioning of the galley. "Huh? Yeah . . . food sounds good right about now. Can't hibernate without filling my belly first. Looks like you got brains to go with that beauty Masako, though I'll try and ignore that technically us going to the galley together would count as a date since most dates involve sharing a meal."

Chuckling a bit, Muraki started towards the door leading out of the living quarters and into whichever hall might be connected to the galley. He intentionally walked at a relatively slow pace, mostly out of sheer tiredness, as he was still sleepy, but partially so he could walk in Masako's company.

"Mess hall, is it?"

Mizuho sat up, silent for a moment, her meeting with the bed had been a tearful one. She had, in fact, been sobbing uncontrollably for the better part of the past hours since her storming away from the hall. She was glad Arild was as understanding as to her emotional problems as he was, yet in a way longed for reprimand, as she despised that weakness within herself.

She wiped her eyes, and quickly bound her her back into a ponytail, irritated by it sticking to tear-stained cheeks. And she slipped into the hall, a little shamed at her present state, wandered towards the mess hall. She still shirked her uniform - even her rank pin was left behind.

She did not want to be an officer while in the mess hall. They were all of them more worthy than she, at this point. Failure clung heavy on her mind, and she was uncharacteristically silent as she strode towards the messhall, pausing for a moment to compose herself.

At least there would be food.
