RP: YSS Ryūjō YSS Ryūjō - Mission 0 - The Meet Up

YSS Ryujo, Deck 7

After the CO had dismissed the crew gathered around him, Kakeru turned to the mini-neko floating beside him. "Thank you very much Amatsukaze-sempai, the rock was a wonderful idea for the Ryoju's totem! I would have never thought of it if not for you." The captain looked as if he wanted to talk to the XO, so Kakeru only bowed briefly to the XO as he entered the ship.

At the top of the ramp, he paused in a moment of indecision. To take a bunk in one of the 8 men cabins, or one of the 3 double rooms? Thinking back on the fascinating variety of the shipmates around him, his heart automatically yearned for the larger room with more people to befriend. Unfortunately, his head told him that some of the equipment he used were not for general dissemination, nor were some of his methods and techniques. With a sigh, he turned to Amatsukaze-sempai and said: "I better go ahead first, there are only 3 double rooms in the infantry section and if I don't get there fast, they're bound to be taken up. Thank you for your help, see you at the galley later!"

Launching himself up 2 flights of zero-g passageways at a speed barely short of polite, he raced to the room furthest from the shuttle and PA bays, reasoning that the flyboys and the infantry would head straight for the rooms closest to their work stations first. Seeing the green light on the door, Kakeru knew he was in luck. A quick slap of the door release, a toss of his duffel into the lower bunk, and he dived face first into the bed he just laid claim to.

"Praise the Empress there was no one here." He could just imagine some poor sod in the bunk first getting blindsided by a thrown duffel, then tackled and smothered.

With a semi-secluded room claimed, it was now time to head up to the galley.

Wait, what? Hadn't Henry addressed the XO? The hangover must have hit him hard, amplified by the trip in an aircraft, at that. Despite the mix-up, the Nepsleslian showed no sign of embarrassment or apology. He straightened himself back into the position of attention and waited for the CO's further instructions, but thankfully they were directed towards the crew as a whole and not him as an individual. Despite this, the business mind-set was reeling at this mistake. First impressions were important, and Holliday's actions may have come across to the Chusa as air-headed and ignorant, not traits you want associated with you during a business meeting, something the fighter pilot was treating this. "And here I calculated I knew the ranks of the Armed Forces. Regardless, the damage is done. Continue on and hopefully you'll absolve yourself of this mishap." He assured himself, turning to Nichols and gestured to the ship, letting him know that they should look for their quarters. He looked more closely in the assortment of personnel for the Shoi he should have reported to.

Doc Holliday strode over to Kumiko within moments, once again bowing from the position of attention. "My apologies, madame, I seem to have turned myself around when I landed. Santo Hei Henry Holliday reporting. Santo Hei Svein Nichols is also here but I sent him off to look for a suitable cabin, if that is satisfactory." This time he didn't wait for a returning bow, noting the Chusa had not given one, in turn giving Henry the impression one didn't have to wait for such a formality. But of course, he was still uninitiated in the ways of the Yamataian, so he was gambling... Like usual.

Docking Area -> Ryujo Entrance

Ume stretched a little and then smiled. "Well we should get in, lots of people have gone in already." She then decided to make her say in, wondering what kind of people would be on the ship. Before she really got to speak with them though she would have to get her room. So as she stepped onto the ship she noticed the white uniform of an officer, and she recognized her, having briefly seen her on the Soyokaze but never actually spoken to her.

She gave the officer, Kumiko a proper salute and smile. "Nito Hei Hatoyama Ume reporting."

Docking area - Ryujo

Nichols had a curious expression as his flight lead seemed to dismiss him. Since it was apparent Holiday didn't want to embarrass himself further in front of his wingman, Nichols made his way back to the Kawarime he had arrived in. Once he was under the wing, a capsule that looked something like a fuel tank opened sideways and let his duffel fall out. Before it could impact, however, Nichols grabbed the shoulder strap and yanked it hard enough it sailed over his head before the sling got caught by his neck and forced it to swing and stop at his back.

With his personal belongings secured, the scrawny pilot made his way into the ship in the aim to locate a zero-g vertical passageway that would take him to Deck 5. One could argue the point that Deck 5 was called an 'infantry deck' for a reason, but the theory was that like infantry, pilots weren't part of the crew that actually worked on the Ryujo. Whether or not he was going to be corrected on that or not was something he didn't worry about.

Deck 5 - Infantry deck Alpha, Ryujo

Nichols raced along the edge of the passageway with the crew cabins on his right. The pilot halted when he located one that had a green light on the door, a grin escaped him as he tapped the sliding door in order to open it before he threw his duffel onto the top bunk. Yet before the meeting at the galley, Nichols retrieved the duty uniform from his duffel and changed into it. After he had stuffed the flight suit along with his duffel into one of the two lockers the pilot stepped out of the room as he fixed the cap on his head on his way to the galley.

Docking Area -> Ryujo Deck 2 -> Bridge - Megami Matonaka

Megami found the captain was nicer than she assumed, she shifted a bit with a giggle and nodded to the captain. "I would appreciate the chance at a mock battle, I would love to show you what I am capable of Captain. I want you to come to rely on me and trust me as one of your best officers." She salutes him and then took a breath, fixing her officers cap and jacket before allowing the captain to go on his way to the next few people. She headed in and quickly got her room situated. She had a lot of cutesy things to put up for decoration. For now, however, she simply placed her things in the officers cabin that she was assigned and then headed to the Bridge, she looked at all the people along the way noting their faces and what seemed to be mannerisms.

Upon arriving at the bridge she took a seat at one of the information desks and began looking through the information on each and every person aboard this ship. As a strategist it was her job to know everyone's strengths, weaknesses, and capabilities as a whole so she could correctly use them to serve the ship better.

Docking Area - > Docking Plank - Meiko Lee

Meiko couldn't help but feel overjoyed that Ume and Kioko were there. She headed on with Ume, and once they stopped infront of Kumiko she saluted her and spoke. "Santo Juni Meiko Lee reporting for duty, I am the ships assigned Medical Officer and I am ready to do whatever it takes to ensure that this place is kept as healthy as possible." The name Meiko Lee may sound a bit familiar, as Meiko had written an entire paper on the events on the Soyokaze, as well as what lead to the defeat of the virus, and had it published. Then again, Kumiko was also on that ship, so she knew what that was all about. "Its good to be serving with you again."

"Good morning, Chusa. It's good to see you again." Kumiko obviously responded to her commanding officer before the others who had approached as well, bowing slightly to her superior officer. "Are you taking command now, or would you like to settle in first?" That question asked, she glanced around at all of the others. "All of you may go ahead and proceed as well, find bunks and get settled in, we'll sort everything else out shortly. It's good to see all of you from the Soyokaze again."

"Hai, Shoi." Doc Holliday responded, but more quietly as he didn't want to throw off the officer's focus. He quickly did an about face and sauntered towards his ship, quickly retrieving his own items and following Nichols, who shouldn't be too far away due to the brevity of Kumiko's orders. It was a good thing as well, as Svein had decided take a spot in the infantry platoon's section of the ship. Likely, Henry would've never found the other fighter pilot had he not been a distance behind him. He entered the cabin after his wingman, throwing his own bag onto the bunk unoccupied by Svein. "Interesting choice of lodgings." The statement was neutral to Nichols's choice. It didn't matter currently, there wasn't too many infantrymen on the ship, at the moment. The colonial gentleman jumped up onto the unoccupied bunk, allowing his legs to hang over the edge as he looked down on the refugee below them. "I reckon we should introduce ourselves to the rest of the crewmen."

YSS RYUJO

Errowyn did one last check and grabbing her communicator and attaching it to her belt. She was ready to explore the ship more indepth. Making sure she could get to her Kawarime quickly from anywhere in the ship. Corridors were spacious to allow rapid movement even during the rush to battle stations.

Shuttle bay 5

Errowyn entered the level where her Kawarime sat with the cockpit canopy open and the two cargo pods laying stored against the bulkheads. She checked them both, taking note that her Daisy had been moved to the Power Armor section. She entered her code and opened the second cargo pod and removed her duffel bag that contained the rest of her gear along with another bag that contained her HSC gifts when she paid an unannounced visit to one of their Defense Stations.

She admired them for the way she was treated and she returned the favor by being cooperative up to the point that didn't violate her obligations to the Star Army and to her sovereign nation that she belonged to.

Taking a quick peek at the other shuttle bays to see what type of shuttles she would be dealing with if it was required of her to fly them. She was delighted to see several other Aerospace fighters being loaded onto the ship on either side of hers. She shook her head at taking notice on how new those Kawarimes were compared to hers.

~~another babysitting job?~~

Erowyn smile faded to a scowl as her 'sister' was right. And unfortunately from the looks of the Kawarimes, she could make an educated guess she would be incharge of her fellow wingnuts. "Yeah yeah..." She muttered, grumbled as she moved back to her quarters, taking the route through the Infantry and Crew quarters on Deck 5.

Cabin D2-O2

Anjin had finished putting all of her military gear into the storage lockers according to standards. She then had set about the task of positioning the personal effects that she had. She was very selective about the things she acquired and kept. Most of the items she had were significant to her because of the events she acquired them during. With that work done she made a quick check of her uniform, and put her PHC on her wrist and switched off the music.

With everything secured she existed her cabin and secured the door. "New ship, new crew, time to start checking out both." she said to herself as she turned and started walking down the hallway.

YSS Ryujo, Gantry

Noa seemed a bit lost in the crowd gathered around the Chusa, but she was used to that. Her size actually worked to her advantage more times than it didn't by her figuring. She noted his orders and gave a quick greeting bow to the XO as Kakeru did so, then started lifting off from his shoulder where she had been riding once they had entered the ship.

"Oh, it was my pleasure. Just looking out for my new buddy, you know? Let me know if you need any other good ideas. It's my job! " grinned the mini-Nekovalkyrja back to the hunter, as she already was scheming her next move when they saw each other next time. As he ran off to claim his chosen space she waved at the Hei with an encouraging, "Mata ne, Shinozaki-kun!" and then reached up quickly to make sure her tiny service cap didn't blow away in his anti-gravity wake. That country boy certainly was focused...

YSS Ryujo, Deck 3

Amatsukaze-hei was no less focused in where she wanted to put down her roots, though. Huffing along with her little medical kit backpack, she zipped along steadily through the zero-g passageways that seemed almost like giant tunnels to her. One time she even did a little loop-de-loop across the ceiling to dodge some of the other crew that were heading to their own destinations on Deck 3. While Kakeru worried about the infantry groups in the belly of the beast of a ship on Deck 7 -- a huge journey for someone her size! -- her target instead was the much closer domain of the Red Panels, namely the engineering section. There were 25 crew cabins here and she just had to get the one closest to what she considered the only place on this gigantic cruiser worth her effort -- the MEGAMI computer room.

Fortunately for her, the cabin before the blast shutter doors that led to that sacred place was not as in demand as some of the cooler ones -- sure, everyone wanted to be close to the galley or dining hall, post office, or even their maintenance stations in life support or engineering. Noa even passed some other technicians getting into an altercation over it! Nope, it seemed nobody wanted to put up a fight for that lonely place near the end of the hall that was noisy, hotter than most, and even subjected to electromagnetic pollution from all the power hungry electronics that were only one bulkhead away. Of course, as she stepped into the empty room, the little Information Technology junkie could feel all those software and hardware vibes and soaked it up like a sponge, hopping up on the huge bunk bed and dropped her luggage with a tiny *fwump* before she reclined alongside it, sinking into the fabric. "Ahhh..."

There was another reason her tired body could think of why this place was nice... it was only a short trek up to the galley for the meeting with the Chusa.

Docking Area - > Docking Plank

Kioko smiled and walked behind her friends then stopped infront of Kumiko after the two other girls with a big grin her fangs showing in the gap between her lips "Hello Sssir, Nitô Hei Kioko Gargandottir, Intelligence Operative at your ssservice" she saluted the Captain "I hope you put my skills to good work and use me effectively."

Deck 5, Ryujo

Nichols halted at the entrance to the crew cabin he'd claimed for himself and his current flight lead. With his silent demeanour, the only response he offered to Holiday was to turn to face him and lean back against the side of the doorway. There was a sort of 'Were else would I be going?' expression on his face with a hint of amusement as a grin formed on the corner of his mouth as he folded his arms as if he was on the brink of boredom. However, his gaze had drifted to his left into the passageway he was going to take as the beginning to his route to the galley. "You might want to change out of your flight suit, then."

As he waited, a question dawned on him that had the normally silent pilot turn his gaze back to Holiday. "How often you think we'll be doing things like CAS? I didn't even see enough pilots to make a fire team. Clearly we're not goin' for air superiority."

Docking Plank - > Deck 3 Crew Capin 4

"Let's room together" Ume spoke to Meiko with a smile, previously on the Soyokaze they were in separate rooms but the purple Neko saw no need in being in separate rooms since they were friends. She motioned Meiko to follow and began to walk into the ship, heading for deck 3 where most the crew cabins and other living facilities were. Of course deck 3 would be more desirable than deck 5 but since it was still early in the boarding Ume managed to find a crew cabin that had not yet been claimed, Crew Cabin 4.

Once inside the room she put her luggage down and started to unpack, she had more than she did when she joined the Soyokaze, but her belongings were still not so much that she could not easily carry them around in luggage on her own. However there were a few things in her luggage that would by no means be considered necessities, like her collection of board games, all of which were magnetic so they could be played even if the ship lost gravity. "I have a pretty big collection of games now, we'll have plenty for the trip."

Ryujo, main airlock

"We have some time before we need to launch, not much, but enough to allow the crew a chance to get aquitted with their new ship and home. I will, however, be taking command from here on out; but you are still my XO but unlike on other ships - I will not require you to be on the bridge as I feel your expertise is better served in Engineering," he smiled at Kumiko, he knew just from his brief time with her on the Eucharis that she wasn't entirely cut out for the position of XO but he needed someone with experience to handle that job and also someone he already knew and thus could trust. "Go ahead and help our crew get themselves acclimated to the vessel, any engineering staff that you feel needs a refresher on the ships systems go ahead and take them through it. Otherwise, I do want this ship ready for launch in the event the Admiral decides that we've outstayed our welcome."

With him saying that, Takeyu glanced back toward the farside of the docking bay before nodding and keying himself into the ships intercom. "All crew this is Chusa Nayacesen speaking, we still have time before we need to launch so please use this time to memorize the ships layout, stow any gear you have brought onboard, and check in with your duty stations. There will be a briefing in ten minutes in the Gally, I expect *everyone* to be there."

*somewhere near mars*

I wake up in my shuttle with a raging headache..slowly I rememeber everything. The battle and how I escaped in the shuttle.i hear the distinctive beep warning me that there's a approaching object.unluckily my shuttle had ran out of juice leaving me defenceless against anything. *great.sweepers* I mutter ready for anything about to attack the shuttle.

YSS Ryujo

Sebastian didn't see anyone to report to right away, though she had seen many go into the ship to various locations. Once it was cleared out, she could then see the Captain and the XO and gave both what she hoped was a proper bow. Another thing she was still getting used to, for Nepleslians didn't bow all the time.

"Santô Hei Sebastian Wells reporting for duty, sir and ma'am." Sebastian's voice was calm and demure, as it always was even during her training. She was never one to get excited over things, just did what she was asked to do. Sometimes a bit more if the need was there. After waiting for a long enough moment, she stood upright once more keeping up the formalities.

Deck 5 :: RYUJO

Errowyn noticed a door to one of the cabins opening up. She watched as she came silently up behind the male (Nichols) that leaned in the doorway, then overhearing his comment about CAS.

"We're to supplement the YSS RYUJO firepower as in mobile gun platforms, and possibly advance scouts into territory where a big ship would be detrimental to the mission. Fly or escort troop carrying Racoons to the surface." She spoke in her usual soft voice as she passed the man in the doorway with a brief glimpse into the crew quarters through open doorway, seeing the other pilot on the top bunk.

Holliday launched himself off of the bunk, but looked back down at his current apparel when Svein pointed it out. "I suppose you have a point." While he fetched the duty uniform out of his duffel bag, the dentist opened his mouth to answer when a new voice joined in the conversation. He turned away from the uniform laid out on the bunk and specified his attention upon the atypically attractive Neko. "Good day, madame." With that, he zipped up his flight suit quickly and stood behind Nichols, leaning against the door with a fist against his hip. "Pity. I had a fondness for the concept of air superiority missions." He removed his fist and unfurled it under his chin, like he was telling the audience of a play a secret that no other character knew about. "Where are my manners? I am Santo Hei Henry Holliday, but some people call me Doc. This is- Once again, excuse my manners. You may introduce yourself if you wish, my generally silent friend." The Nepseslian crossed his arms and allowed himself to sag against the door frame. It wouldn't do if he introduced Nichols to everyone, they needed to make a good impression, after all. "Wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong message, would we, Svein?"

Deck 5, Ryujo

Nichols hadn't anticipated the other pilot to have found herself on Deck 5, though it seemed to not bother him as he saluted Errowyn in greeting whilst Henry insisted on an overcomplicated introduction by comparison. Yet as he lowered his arm back to his side he felt the urge to make a sarcastic retort to Holiday as he questioned Nichols on what impression he wanted to leave on the rest of the crew, it got a chuckle out of him before he recollected himself. "Santo Hei Svein Nichols. You'll hear Doc a lot more than me, I try to let my flying speak for me." Such a statement was followed with a pause as he turned his gaze back into the passageway the sudden arrival had materialized from. It was clear Svein was curious to see what other sudden appearances would show up before they all had to report to the galley.

Deck 5 : YSS RYUJO

Errowyn listened to the two new pilots intro themselves. Her eyes sparkled at the way Holliday had recovered quickly. "I'm Yomeoibito Errowyn, Joto-Hei. 'Hellcat' is my callsign when we're flying. The beat up Kawarime in hanger bay 5 is my aerospace craft. If you need me after duty hours, my cabin is number 25 on deck 3."

~~ oooo handsome pair ~~

~~ Shut up! ~~ Errowyn thought harshly.

Errowyn wrinkled her nose suddenly and clamped her mouth shut, pressing her lips into a thin line. Then relaxing them as she continued to speak in her soft manner. "Your Kawarimes been loaded into hanger bays 4 and 6 respectively. Portside of the YSS Ryujo. Hopefully you both will have time recon the quick routes to them." Giving them both a quick bow, "please excuse me while I get myself squared away and see you both at the Chuso's Briefing in the Ship's Mess."
