Moon Town 2 :: Elina's Refuge:

Elina listened to Chiasa speak about her arrival to the moon. She nodded to show she was paying attention. Sorting through her music, she had a good variety of music, trying to decide what to play next.

Elina smiled, “yeah!” with pride. “The NMX destroyed the main one, but I scrounged all the equipment for this one and did some fast talking to keep it. All the music here is from my private collection. What music I got is from free traders from the Fringe, Vid programs on tv. If I ever get off this Rock, I’ll see if I can get a copy.” Excuse me for a sec.”

Activating a mic, Elina did her brief few minutes of Mish propaganda to appease them and announced the next set of songs she was going to play. She looked thoughtful a second or two. Then she gave a few Moon Town 2 Reminders on recycling, being a Tech, Hydroponics specialist and other news events. She refrained from mentioning rescuing anyone from the crash-site.

Once done with the announcements, Elina shut the mic off and began prepping the next set of tunes to play. She hummed a stuttered tune that a Saint would recognize as an undercover agent to another undercover agent without blowing each others cover and easily passed off as nonsensical tune to those uninitiated.

“There is several pairs of Miner’s Coveralls you might want to change into if you want to blend in here. With the Mish we saw on the surface and our rescue vehicle. The NMX will probably send over a patrol to hunt for any off-worlders for questioning.” Elina spoke inserting the discs to be played in order while unattended.

She pointed to a shelf that held various sizes of coveralls. Whether they (coveralls) fit or not, they would do in a pinch. “I dunno if you ate or not. But I need to eat at the communal eating place. You’ll need to come along as others have seen you with me.”

Rescue Shuttle

After following tracks, the shuttle pilot noted the town and began her landing cycle just outside of it. Feeling the change in acceleration, Chieko came forward in a new AMES (her third today) checking on what was happening.

"I'm guessing we found them," the scientist noted, looking at the structure.

"This should be it based on the tracks," the pilot replied with half certainty, "How are we going to do this?"

"We head in with suits, take scans and samples," the Minkan replied, "Then start rounding people up for evacuation, making sure they aren't harbouring anything problematic. Which may not be too much of a problem for you or me; but we do have unaugmented humans back on ship."

"Is that all?" the blue panelled Neko asked.

"As much as I'd like to say yes, this is a NMX held location," Chieko sighed, almost risking a frown, "Under normal circumstances, this would be simple by the book; but with them here, who knows what trouble we are in for."

Rescue Shuttle - on a small hillock outside of town

As soon as the shuttle touched down, the academic smiled optimistically and patted the pilot on the back. She then called to the others heading out with her, "Alright girls! The nightmare has started and we need to move these people to a secure location. We make sure they're clean, deconned, and healthy, then move them back to the Soyokaze.

"In order to do that, we need to get in somewhat quietly, find out who is NMX friendly, then quietly get the others out. These people seem to be decent enough, so I'm hoping we can save a good lot of them, if not all. We may want to try to help the Juni with her mission too, if necessary."

"Isrun, Kana! Scanners and NSPs - go with stun unless a change is needed. The fewer civilians we injure the better. Collect samples. Lots of them!

"Tara! Don't let that rifle out of your sight. Bandage what you can; but anything that requires you to get out of that Mindy can wait until we get back to the ship.

"When we step out, first thing we watch for are parasites. Someone gets hit, deal with them - they can be regrown back on ship. We then need to locate an entrance and get in as quietly as possible.

"Once we're in, it will be hard to go unnoticed, so make as few waves as possible. If you detect anything out of the ordinary chemical, organic, radiological or otherwise, let me know the second before that."

Getting the proper affirmatives, the academic then looked back to the pilot again, "I'd rather you stay put in the shuttle and keep it warm. If there's trouble leave or detonate - it will let us know we need to duck more. Don't let a single squid get their slimy tentacles on this craft or the ship's location."

"Got it, " came the pilot's response.

Soon the team performed a Chieko lead cheer, before sealing up, locking up, and heading out of the vehicle. The Minkan gave them the signal to spread out a little before reaching the town wall. They then began moving around the perimeter looking for a way in.

Kioko watched the door waiting for it to open, her weapon trained at it, she slowed her breathing to get a better aim, her muscles ached from the weight of the suit and how she was prepared to attack anyone behind the door. Kioko liked this team she was with, she might not know them but did get the job done and she found that good, also they let her do her job and gave her orders which didn't happen that often to the snake girl.

Soyokaze

The battle had slowed, the remaining NMX ships had pulled back a bit to re-assess their strength, or perhaps they were just considering their options. Whatever was the reason, the drop-ships had gotten past the Soyokaze and its escorts due to the enemy having thrown their warships at them, as it stood - there were a number of those ships now landing on the station and troops were starting to disembark; moving across the surface and seeking out the locations of SAOY troops.

While those troops had to contend with the artillery fire being rained down upon them from the Soyokaze, that didn't stop a few from getting into the station and beginning their searches.

Personnel Airlock next to Garage Door

Finally reaching the way in, Chieko began the process of calling up the crazy and convincing him with one of her cute, distressed voices to let her and her team in. It took time; but with the right social engineering, the outer door opened and the four of them entered. Once in the chamber, while waiting for the Airlock to cycle, the Minkan sent another message to Chiasa:

How has communication with the locals been, Juni? Would you be able to convince them to submit to a check up and an evacuation? We would like to have them out of the way before things get really hairy.

Soon the inner door opened and the girls made their way out of the cycling chamber. Chieko gave the signal to start clearing the area as a staging location while she opened up communication with the garage superintendent.

"Hi there!" the scientist called out through her helmet, though as cutely as possible, "Do you mind if we borrow your garage for a bit? The Star Army has need of it while we make preparations for your safety."

Listening Post

Ume messed around some with the door controls but after a moment she let out a sigh, the door was locked tight and she wasn't any good at things like that. "Okay it's locked..I'm going to cut it open, you two are going to have to cover me when it opens though I'll be a bit exposed." She moved in front of the door as she said that, a blade of energy protruding from her power armor's right forearm. The armored neko got to work cutting into the door, deciding to go quicker than normal since her two companions would cover her.

It didn't take her more than a minute to cut a large hole into the door that the three of them could head through in a triangle formation. However along with rifle in her right hand, her left reached back and drew the sword that was sheathed on a shoulder mount as she stepped inside..

Chiasa put on one of the offered coveralls. She put her Star Army equipment in what pockets she could, and kept her belt and gun on under the coverall. "I am not hungry, but I will come along for appearance sake."

"So what form of government does Moon Town 2 have? Is there a Moon Town 1? How aggressive will the NMX be in searching for off worlders? As you said many of your people saw me with you in my AMES. Will there be a problem with some of them seeking the NMX to report my presence." she asked.

Elina gave snicker, "We all hate the NMX and have lost someone to them," She spat into a nearby bucket that didn't smell to good. "There are 3 Moon Towns connected by passages under the surface. NMX took the third one since it's the farthest from this one and Moon Town 1. As for Government. It's ruled by warlords and senior techs in various sectors. As for Moon Town 1, probaly the same."

As for informers within the enclave of Moon Town 2, not much she could do about them. "If questioned, you picked it up before crashing here." Elina shrugged. "If it happens... this place will be flooded with NMX ..." She gave a snicker, "... at least 20 dedicated soldiers, But then we'ld move you around through passageways to avoid them and placing you where they already searched. As for your gear.." Nods towards her suit, "I'd just stick it in the honey bucket," pointing to the foul smelling bucket she spat in. "And cop a squat. They may be the holy terror of the galaxy, but even there are lines they don't cross. Unless the Floating Crab comes along. But that rarely comes out of its lair."

Elina did one last check of the equipment, making sure the entertainment continued to play. "Ready to face the public?" Moving to the doorway.

Garage

The super tried to argue with Chieko about what trouble it would bring; however Chiasa's message only increased her desire for expedience. "I'm sorry sir, but if that is the case you should co-operate instead of argue," she told him, "Anyone left behind after what is about to happen may very well die. I'm going to do what I can to settle my conscience. How about yours?"

The young Minkan then sent a reply back to her superior:
If our guide is correct, then we need to get moving now, Juni. They will need to start reporting in at the garage for check ups then packed up for evac.

I will be calling in the shuttles in momentarily.

As soon as she had beamed off the message, the garage superintendent began having people open up space.

The scientist's assistants also returned, stating that while radiation seemed low, there were some heavy metals in the breathing gas as well as some known infectious diseases on surfaces - though within a somewhat acceptable threshold. At worst, the inhabitants would need to go through decontamination before coming in contact with the ship's population; however recommended to stay in quarantine first until samples are properly analyses.

With agreement from the medic, Chieko told Isrun and Kana to bring in all the AMES from the shuttle and had Tara keep watch. She then sent a message to the shuttle:
Have the mother ship start sending evac shuttles. Evacuees are to go through decontamination, then proceed to quarantine while we make sure the NMX have not done anything to them.

Once the affirmative came from their shuttle, the message got sent up to the Soyokaze and the academic began supervising the remaining preparations in the garage.

"Actually not in the fashion you mean. The situation has changed. My people are making arrangements to evacuate anyone who wishes to leave Moon Town 2. I need to get back to the airlock we came through. If you want off this rock, I suggest you grab what items you hold dear and come with me. You might also want to see about making a public announcement so that others who want can come." She took off the Coveralls and picked up her AMES.

Understood, I just notified my guide of the situation. Will be heading to the rendezvous point regardless of her decision.

Moon Town 2 :: Elina's Refuge::

Elina looked at Chiasa thoughtfully, "Star Army is invading the NMX Listening post." She paused in the doorway looking at her. Seeing her change back out of the coveralls. "Otherwise you wouldn't have me put this out. What about Moon Town 1?" Moving back to gather her stuff up that she was going to take with her.

Once packed and ready to go, Elina turned to the console. She interrupted the music being broadcasted and spoke calmly looking at Chiasa, speaking over the P.A. Systems for both Moon Town 1 and 2. As she spoke, she put away the discs into their cases and packed them away.

"Apologyze for the interruption of our daily broadcast that was scheduled to bring you the following news. Star Army has invaded the NMX Listening Post. Everyone is to assemble at the designated area. Garage 432 in Moon Town 2. Bring vital documents and treasured items. If you stay. It's at your own risk. I just wish the best for you. Thanks for the hospitality."

Elina should've guessed right off the bat this was going to happen. Star Army short range shuttles don't stray from their motherships. She shut down the entire system. Then grabbed her two pieces of luggage. Her carry-on case with wheels and her back pack.

She lead the way back to the Garage where the Star Army had set up their recieving station. It felt odd at being able to return to civilization and have access to interplanetary travel once again....

Listening Post

kioko kept trained on the door, ignoring any other distraction while she did, someone could be getting murdered behind her and she wouldn't realise. When the hole was made Kioko followed Ume inside behind and to the right of Ume, so she could fight and guard a flanking position at the same time, as she swept the right making sure no hostiles attacked that side.

~~Moon Near Listening Post~~

The NMX assault force that hit the moon dust had a fight on their hands. Between the Soyokaze's and her fleet giving support. Plus the Droppship that had brought the Soyo's ground force in had started it own attack on the attackers. So that when the NMX force finally reached the listening post three made it in. Those three started firing, causing most of the SYoA troops to hit the deck and return fire.

~~Listening Post Rear Door~~

Once Ume punched through the door the lead to the hanger complex, plasma blasts smashed into the door jam next to their head. A group of NMX nekos were suited up in ground combat rigs and had been given plenty of time to set up a few cargo containers as a fortification in the center of the hanger. On top was a heavy weapon of some type that was rapidly firing at the door well.

~~Listening Post Computer Core~~

Santo-Hei Brice got right to work rigging a few components into the computer mainframe, with in a few moments the data was being transfered back to the Soyo's computers. Brice was still coaching the data out when the Soyo sent a response to Bors.

"We hear you Riko-Hei, we also see the data being transfered. Secure the core and have the Combat engineers take care of stripping the core, and return to clearing the base. Soyokaze C&C out." the female voice dropped from the line.

~~Space Above Moon~~

The NMX fleet was hurting once the last mass firing of all of the Aether weapons. only two of their ships remained. They turned tail and attempted to make a run for it. They raced to get to a point where they could make their FTL jumps.

~~Soyokaze Medical Bay~~

"Ma'am... Ma'am please calm down, There were errors in the body creation process, caused by the damage to the ship, along with the fact that we are running the systems at such high rates just to try to get our crew back whole." The nurse spoke to Nenene trying to get the XO to relax and not panic.

Meanwhile Misato was wheeled out of the surgery bay into the main Medbay. She was unconscious, though she was moaning n her sleep. Her arm was still missing, but her chest was patched up and the shrapnel from her Mindy removed. She was wheeled next to Nenene.

The nurse took a look over the chart for Misato and sighed. "Looks like the Heisho will be needed to be awake before we can get a hemo treatment for her arm. Ma'am," The nurse turned back to the XO, "Since you need to be observed for the next half hour, since there were the incontinences with your cloning, Would you sit here and keep an Eye on the Heisho... once she is awake please keep her from getting up or doing anything."

Listening Post Back Door

Ume ducked back behind the wall once the bullets started coming in, that was a little more than she expected. She did peek her head out though to take a survey of what all was there. "Okay..I'll take out the heavy gun. Once I have it down, you two can start firing on them, I'll move about and cut down the stragglers." After saying that she powered up her dorsal barrier module and then activated the sword in her hand, causing it to glow orange. She rounded the corner and without hesitation activated her thrusters rocketing towards the heavy gun. She swayed in air to avoid the bullets as best she could, but kept on course wanting to keep the time exposed to minimum, slashing at the junction between the gun and the stand once she was in range and trying to disable it in one strike.

Listening Post Back Door

Meiko quickly got behind the wall when bullets came whizzing out of the doorway. She listened to her orders and nodded towards Ume, she wasn't to thrilled about Ume going in there alone to handle such a large gun, But she figured that Ume knew what she was doing. So she patiently waited checking over her gun one last time to ensure that she was prepared for what was coming.

Hearing the blatant announcement that the Star Army was invading slightly muffled through her helmet, Chieko frowned a little. She never mentioned an invasion to Chiasa, and was quite sure strategic information normally would not be shared with civilians. Had her superior seen fit to discuss such information? What if the NMX were listening in?
Hey, Juni. I never heard anything about an invasion, not that I doubt that being an option. Is that the action that command has decided to take in this matter?

Some townsfolk seemed to have started arriving with their items when Elina got there; though the 'receiving station' was rather sparse. It consisted of four soldiers and a box full of space suits. Three of them were wearing AMES and running scanners over people as if checking for something. Then, once a person was 'cleared', they proceed to another soldier in a Mindy handing out the extra spacesuits. Those people were then given guidance to put the suit on then line up against the wall near the airlock.

Soyokaze Bridge

Takeyu leaned back a bit, not in a chair of course but rather against the air - it was an art he had developed through all the years of 'waiting' for things to happen, someone might say he looked like a statue given he was leaning at an angle that would normally cause someone to fall over.

"They are attempting to retreat sir!" shouted one of the bridge bunnies.

"Let them, our main concern now is the away team and the enemy forces that have landed upon its surface. Target whatever enemies you can find, provided they are not intermixed with our own and provide our companions with artillery fire. Ensure that our rescue and recovery shuttles are on constant redeployment," he craned his head toward an officer who nodded as he began to relay the orders.

The Soyokaze moved back toward the listening post, scanning its surface for any signs of enemies and - upon finding some - its gunners opened fire.

Meanwhile the message from Chieko appeared on the screen, Takeyu glanced at it for a moment, reading it; and then looking toward another bridge bunnie. "Pass the message onto Medical, let them know to keep all evacuees quarantined, until its positive they are not infected."

"Infected sir?" asked the bridge bunny.

"Parasites...." remarked Takeyu as he folded his arms over his chest.

Listening Post Back Door

Kioko ducked down behind cover and listen to the orders given to her and watched Ume rush off to deal with the heavy gun, silently cheering her on hoping she would destroy it quickly. Kioko checked her gun making sure that it still work, having not used it since she crashed out on the floor, she muttered under her breath "seems to be fine, that is good" she kept an eye on the heavy gun, when that was gone she would attack.

Chiasa listened to Elina's message. While it was not exactly what she had said it would serve.

Linked to her communicator she sent a message to it directly.
I am not aware of an Invasion per say. But if the commander is sending shuttles to evacuate the situation must have changed greatly from when we left. Goes without saying that as people approach your location crowd control will be essential.

She switched it subspace and bounce a message to the ship.
"Our initial mission was to observe the situation on the moon. To determine what was going on with the settlements and the involvement with the NMX. Our commander must feel that they have secured the system sufficiently to start evacuation. At least now you will have the opportunity to get back to your life." She said pulling her AMES back on and strapping her sidearm on her him. She walked to the entrance. "Time to go, I do not know how many people from here will take the offer to leave, but the sooner we get there. The sooner we can get you safely offworld."

Oh, sorry Juni, I thought you already knew. This was the mission I was tasked with prior to our preping of the shuttle we crashed.

It was starting to look a little worrying when finally the message came back from the shuttle outside that others were on their way and that the evacuation could begin in earnest. Chieko had wanted to wait until that time in order to spare their pilot from having to deal with too much pushing.

"Alright Tara," the academic called out on the military channel, "start guiding them out by squads. Fill one shuttle up at a time and keep it at a pace where one fills up just in time for the next one if you can. Isrun, babysit the ones in hear while Kana and I continue to scan."

Seeing the two move towards acting on her instructions, the young Minkan sighed to herself while keeping a friendly smile on her face for the civilians. She knew from experience that they would be terrified enough as it was, and she was there to help, not to scare them more. Then the quality of her smile changed a little with satisfaction - this was serving the Empire too.
