Shuttle

Chieko was beginning to enjoy the music when Chiasa made her idea known. She thought she had designed the route to swing them into orbit around the moon; but with her focus being biology, it was possible the plan wasn't perfect. That said, the Minkan scientist realized how fun of a ride this may be and smiled, "Shall I get the suits?"

MOON TOWN 2:: Time :: Battle engaged with Soyokaze/ Shuttle approaching Moon

Elina walked back to her radio station and entered as the last song played. There was a noticed downtime of static or carrierwaves with nothing. She decided to sing her new song again. Then she was going to compose another song.

As Elina looked for another song to play amongst her collected music, she began to sing one of her newly composed songs softly without music. Letting it go out on the airwaves so at least it can find a home.:

When I look up at the distant stars
I feel I’m lost forever a far from friends
Never never to be reach from a far
Will this be our final end?
Amongst such squalor,
All I can do is hope
For you having a nicer life
I wish I was in your parlor
Just once more not to have to lope
From those that want to see a bloody knife…
For now nothing holds me in this nightmarish dream
Why did they allow such scum to roam free
Just to let everything by like a stream
Never ever to see the beautiful green trees

She sighed softly at the end of her song as she found a new song to play. While she was setting up the song to play, she spoke softly. “The last song was sung by yours truly Rainbow. Coming to you live from Moon Town 2. By that is sacred amongst us. I pray that I am able to find the energy and courage to make more songs to sing for your enjoyment.”

She looked out at the view port at the Big Gas Gaint slid into view. The phosperence gasses glowed like the northen lights you see in the Artic circle. It was pretty.

Barren rocks is all I have lit
By the wavering mystical lights
For what seams like a wavering dream
That come and goes in fits
Will we be able to win this fight
Before our will drifts away like a stream
Heaven and rocks... there got to be more
Will there be a tomorrow?
Will it be ... be just another poor lore
Am I just wishing to borrow?
Will it be just fate?
Or luck?
A love too late?
Just to fight and duck....

Elina falls quiet, letting the silence build, staring out into the Gas Giant that fills the night time sky.
"This sucks!" She mutters as she shifts and grabs another song at random and plays it. This song came from the HSC, Sounds like a bunch of felines yowling to a bunch of drums. She smiles. Remembering a Documentary that was sponcored by the Delegation from Siama Ryu Sector of Space. She had pirated the song from the Documentary and kept it. For what or why she did it was beyond her comprehension at the time. But it felt right.

"It was a time of the Defilers
Raging across our territoral lands,
We had to stay strong in face of incredible odds
In an uncaring universe cursed.
When we saw the heavenly sign of the Great Cats Eye
Shining forth amidst the black
We have came home to wander no more.
For we had found our Ancesters Home
We were Two, Now we're Four.
Then we came across the Fifth
Who lent a helping paw ,We wouldn't fight
Then forbidden to raise claw
It was the Law Our paths forever mingled
Cause of sharing of food and den.
We lived to see Defilers run. But will our curse ever end...."

Elina could relate to that. She sniffled a bit as she looked once more to the big Gaint ball of Gas.

Shuttle

Chiasa listened to the song being played that seemed to be from the Poku Saeruo Degonjo, She found the translation definitely taking a creative license since she had read the key points of the clan's history with Kyo.

"I will grab the suits, Koizumi-Hei kindly double check my trajectory towards the planet. Once we initiate there is no changing course without giving away our true nature." She said standing and made her way into the back of the shuttle. "Button up your Power Armors. We are going to purge the cockpit shortly and leave it decompressed for a while." she said to the soldiers in the back. She grabbed two AMES and brought them forward. She quickly put on her's over her uniform after removing her weapon belt. She placed her helmet in position but did not close the helmet just yet. She entered the cockpit and handed Chieko the second suit. "Time for a change of clothes."

Shuttle

"Hai!" the Minkan scientist replied before running what math she could along side the computer's simulations.

In the back, the three in power armor seemed to remain content in their situation, while the two in AMES pulled out their helmets.

Back in the cockpit, Chieko was finishing off the checks and sent it back to Chiasa's console. It was odd at first, taking hold of the AMES being handed to her; however soon the young woman noticed why it felt so strange. She had already been wearing one from when they entered the shuttle; but then came the question, "Now where did I put that helmet then?"

It took a moment, but the military academic soon located her helmet rattling around on the floor in the corner. Quickly, she got up to grab it, then began inspecting the outside for any faults; however even after seeing none, she felt a tiny pang of doubt. Noting that, Chieko had an idea and put the helmet on, sealed it, then ramped up the internal pressure as a test.

Space

The NMX Battlepods, kept the bulk of the fleet's fire blocked from the Escort/Destroyers, in return the battlepods were dieing in waves. The NMX had destroyed three of the Plumeria, smashed between the battle pods and heavy strikes from the larger NMX ships. Though the SAoY Cruisers got back with one of the Escort/Destroyers exploding into a large flash of superheated metal and gases. The remaining E/D started a high speed run for the far side of the Gas giant, in hopes to contact the listening post.

The Fighters swarmed and mixed with the oncoming battlepods. Light flashed around them as weapons were discharged and craft where vaporised. One of the two fighters that were covering Isa exploded in a fire ball bouncing shrapnel off of Isa's viewscreen.

Science Shuttle

As the pressure increased a soft hissing sound started up slowly increasing in volume as the pressure increased. There was after careful examination a malformed seal between the armpit and the main body. The AMES was useless to keep Chieko alive.

Assault Ship

With Bors and the rest of the Ground operations team joining them Misato went up to the flight deck and spoke to them for a moment. As she returned to the seat the ship lifted and blasted out of the ship.

"you guys ready for this?" She spoke to the teams as they raced towards the moon listening post.

Assault Ship

Ume looked to Misato when she spoke up and nodded. "Ready Ma'am." There was a measure of excitement in her voice. "What will be our duty?"

///Assault Ship\\\

Meiko nods towards Misato. "Read Ma'am." She then shifts her eyes towards Ume and then back to Misato curious as of that too.

Shuttle

Chiasa did not like the sound that Chieko's suit was making. Fortunately there were plenty more on the shuttle. While she did not need the air in her suit to sustain herself, she the environmental systems helped to provide an optimum thermal environment which lessened her power consumption.

She looked at the Mindy Clad soldiers, "Turn off all comm systems in those armors. With that Listening Post out there we can't afford a whisper of a signal to get to it for this to work. From this moment on until I say otherwise we are completely dark." She turned off her internal communications systems. It was a bit disconcerting to Chiasa having to depend on solely her physical sensors. She was used to background noise of electronic communications. However, she had practiced many times with Kyo. It gave her a sense of perspective on how beings without internal communications were dependent on devices to communicate or worse only their words.

She put on her helmet and locked it into place and took her seat. "Best change that quickly. " she said to Chieko.

Space

The shuttle was shaking badly as they flew through the battlefield towars their designated point. Rafe had been on flights before but being in possible danger every second was a rather new concept and he wasn't sure he would ever entirely get used to the idea. He just hoped everyone else in the shuttle was just as nervous as he was, so that he wouldn't be alone if things went all to pieces.

He could hear the radio traffic, faint though it was, from the front of the crew cabin. Sounded like things were going decently well, all things considered. From his understanding no capitol ships had been damaged and their fighters were doing well so it would seem they would hit the surface in one piece. "Always a plus", he thought, "hopefully things wont get too messy".

Shuttle

Everything seemed ok; but once the pressure got over 103 kPa there began a hissing. It took a moment, as it was not from the helmet, where Chieko was expecting it. It was the suit that had the problem, which made more sense to show issues at such a low pressure.

"I suppose you're right, Juni," the girl grinned ruefully as she dialed down the pressure and began removing the damaged suit. She then kindly accepted the replacement and quickly put it on before running another check on it.

Space

Nenene grumbled a curse as one of her wingmate's fighter exploded not too far off her wing. She had no time to check who it was as the swarm of battlepods pressed their advantage. "Loosen up a bit, watch your back" she said to her remaining wingmate. As she did, a barrage of fire burned past her canopy, several shots lighting up her starboard shields, causing her to juke away from the energy weapon fire.

The SAINT operative rolled her Hayabusa over and hauled back on the stick, angling her ships sharp nose at an enemy battlepod. As soon as her targeting reticule flashed green Nenene squeezed the trigger, sending a pair of bolts from her main heavy cannons into the pod. She rolled away, kicking in a bit of rudder to bring her fighter away from the expanding ball of gas and molten metal that momentarily replaced her target.

Nenene did not cheer or gloat, she had way too much work on her hands and this battle was far out of her usual job description. The dark haired neko glanced around, sweeping the battlezone with her eyes. The Hayabusa's battle computer marked and highlighted enemy and friendly craft in red and green volumetric boxes respectively for her, making them easier to pick out from the spinning starfield that filled her canopy.

"Looks like heavy enemy activity by the command ship" Nenene commented over the channel to her wing. "Blast it!" she growled as the third Plumeria class gunship blew apart in a brilliant explosion. "Come on, we need to get in there!" she said and swung her fighter about, angling for the Soyokaze and her escorting units. She pushed her throttles up to their stops and accelerated to maximum military power. The force from the acceleration pushed Nenene back into her ejector seat for a few moments before the inertial compensator caught up and normalized things, allowing the neko to move with ease.

Bridge

Takeyu watched the battle as it unfolded, including the enemy ship as it attempted to flee. "Task the remainder of the fleet including a number of our fighters to intercept that ship! It must not be allowed to contact the station!" he shouted as his communication officer who nodded to relay the order. "Get me a damage estimate on the fleet please, I want to know how many we have lost," he was now out of his chair as he peered toward the volumetric display that showed the battle and all of the ships currently active; his arms were folded over his chest as he watched things unfold.

Chiasa took her seat and looked at their trajectory. Once Chieko was in a new AMES, she purged the shuttle's environment. One that was done she fired a brief burst from the engines to break them out of their current course and onto their new on. Her fingers danced on the controls as she fired the thrusters to create a tumble that would not alter their course. Once that was done she shut down all systems. The shuttle tumbled along its path, and now it was just a matter of waiting to see if their ruse worked.

Chiasa set a countdown timer to keep track of when they would be approaching the moon and out of sight of the Listening post.

Shuttle

Rafe watched as the pilot yanked the throttle back and forth to avoid fire. His stomach wasn't taking this as well as he had thought. He was just glad he'd be on the ground soon.

Drop Shuttle

Ume just looked around the inside of the shuttle at everyone in their power armors. She didn't have any special words to say or anything, she was just excited and a little fidgety. IN truth she was waiting for someone to start one of those 'team chants' she heard some about.

Moon Town 2

Elina played her music over the stations little radio station. She was enjoying the dark side of the Gas Giant that passed for a planet this moon floated around. She was eating some of her food, relaxing as she daydreamed. Unsure of what her future hold. Gave her little creative speils on recycling and then the required Mushhu Propaganda to keep them appeased and away from the Moon Towns.

Glancing at the time as it was getting late and a new shift was about to start. This shift was quiet as majority of the population was settling down for the sleep cycle. It was interesting and quiet. And from her level within the Moon Town 2, she could see out over the barren moonscape.

Chiasa sat silent in the shuttle as it slowly tumbled. She could not help but wonder about the mission. Would their strategy succeed, or would the shuttle and all aboard be destroyed. Deactivation while not desirable was an eventuality. But there were others whose safety had been placed in her hands. They were alive physically and had many years of life ahead of them. Of course the soul transfer technology would reset them to their last backup, but what about the ones who died, their pain and suffering. It seemed that to appreciate existence one had to be cognizant of its cessation. Soul transfer was not always the answer, her own Kyo had died in her arms and was lost forever. Chiasa had spent some time in the SSS archives reading a number of books dealing with the concept of the afterlife, the soul. She realized there had been some sort of transition, one moment Kyo was alive and aware, the next it was a cold body.... the count down time got her attention. They were approaching the point where it would be necessary to restart to make their descent.

Shuttle

As the tumbling continued, the shuttle dropped closer and closer towards the moon, if the trajectory continued it would plunge directly into the ground just outside the Moon town one's airlock. The forces of the tumbling were getting fierce, the only positive was the crew was all strapped in, or they would have been being flung around in the shuttle, being beaten to death. The ground was coming up quickly. As far as the occupants knew the shuttle had yet to be discovered.

Combat Drop Shuttle
Misato was glad her helmet hid her face from the rest of the team. Damn she was tense, the idea of not being in control of what was happening frightened the hell out of her. But silently as she stirred through those emotions she tried to distract herself by watching the others in the drop ship. They were all dealing with the same problems differently. With a internal sigh she finally spoke up. Once we hit the deck be ready to race out of this flying box. We might be under fire the whole way. but we need to silence the listening station, and then get to the civis. Not one Friendly fire incident... Am I clear?"

Bridge/Space

The bridge was a buzz of activity, everyone was directing some aspect of the combat, some sending orders and receiving reports for the fighters. Others working with the other fleet ships. And the rest fighting the Soyokaze herself.

One Neko turned to Takeyu and spoke with a grim look on her face. "Sir the Galahad, Lamorak, and the Bedivere are total losses... Soul savior pods are chirping away. As for the the crews they are dead..." She paused and then pulled up as second report. we have lost five more fighters from our flight deck Sir. Though it looks as if the Battle pods are starting to thin out."

And they were from the heavy fire form the fleet and the continued dogfight with the fleet's fighters The battle pods were starting to accrue heavy losses. Though the last Escort/Destroyer started powering up their engines for full power for a ramming attack on the Soyokaze.

Science Shuttle

The accelerations were enough to make one wonder; but as the rocky spheroid before you gets large enough to fill much more than the windscreen, there comes a time when close becomes too close. "Anno... Juni," the young Minkan began, "We might want to think about slowing down."

It did cross her mind that Chiasa may be thinking of performing a combat drop instead, allowing the shuttle to crash into the small planetoid; however there were certain costs to that. There was also the time Chieko had spent setting up the door sensors for contamination detection as well which would end up wasted. The woman otherwise hovered between the adrenaline high she always enjoyed and the fear of a probable lethal unknown.

Science Shuttle

It did not take long for Chiasa to realize something was wrong with their trajectory. For some reason instead of looping around and having to execute an orbital insertion they were descending. Her fingers flew across the console initiating an emergency start of the primary systems. Power and propulsion were the most important so she brought them up. She started initiating a braking maneuver, countering the tumbling and trying to slow them down. "This is definitely not what we had planned, something about this moon must be strange.. Brace for impact. This is going to be bumpy." she called out. Chiasa at this point only had on choice, transfer their velocity to horizontal, they were going to belly in. The shuttle instruments showed their trajectory and Chiasa banked the shuttle to avoid a large stone protrusion. A moment later the T8 skipped off the surface with a bone jarring impact, it impacted two more times before finally sliding to a stop.
