OOC [OOC] - Senate of Yamatai Discussion

Which planet is Jushimoto representing?

Seriously guys, the enter your senators in the wiki, and try to add them to the introduction thread - it'd make things far less confusing.

Such as, for example, GameroftheGame having been the one to have a senator on Asura, and not DocTomoe. I know Gamer isn't around, so it's no biggie, but the least the Doc ought to have done is update that thing for his new senator.

After some poking around on the wiki-- and let me tell you that senate page is damned hard to find if you don't have it bookmarked-- I discovered the senate roster. Apparently, I had claimed Central Yamatai as my system of representation months ago when Gallant was trying to get me in on the Senate stuff. Of course, we all know Gallant poofed, and that was before I'd made an NPC Senator. Now, however, if the spot is still vacant I'd be good with it. I don't want to seem presumptuous taking the homeworld spot, but at the same time it is both the spot I had requested before and the setting for the only Yamataian plot I am currently GMing. Since Special Investigations takes place in Kyoto, I think it kind of makes sense.

On the other hand, if that's not okay... Well, Anisa is still open.

Doshii Jun already controls a Senator for the Yamatai system, so... yeah, that one is already taken. I don't know how up to date the wiki is, but the character made an appearance in the senate introduction thread,

Anisa sounds like a good plan.

I thought Doshii's character was the 'Imperial Premier' and acted independently from the senate... And if not, then what's all this business with him worrying about stuff on all these other worlds?

He's playing two characters. Yuumi may be the Premier, but she doesn't get to vote. Since he's on this site, and wants to have a vote too, he picked Planet Yamatai. Considering how Doshii Jun is also a moderator for the Yamatai faction, it seems pretty appropriate.

That's cool, then. Anisa.

Post-Script: I will build a character page and stake my claim on the wiki.

Post-Post-Script-Script: It is done.

Gah, Lam, I spoke too fast - Kyle already had Anisa with Senator Yuki Asunana.

Sorry Kyle.

Lam, you may wish to pick up another non-represented planet instead.

Man.

I gotta re-write stuff. Oh well, at least I tried. For right now, though, it's drawing too close to my bed time. I'll screw with this in the morning. Though his backstory will not remain the same, consider Senator Jushimoto to have the same personality and appearance. This is a character I've had bouncing around in my head for a while.

On the other hand, I enjoyed updating the senate wiki page and filling out my gay little form and so maybe we should all encourage each other to update it to be current and start using it for reference again!

I'd just like to say, that, as a reader of the senate thread, it looked absolutely ridiculous and barbaric to club a dude to the ground because he was smoking a pipe.

Unless you're going for a police state vibe, then that's cool and I take everything back.

But it really, really horribly juxtaposes against the supposedly civilized debate of the senate.

Honestly, I thought smoking was a ticketable offense, not like, immediate arrest.

Even so, you'd think they'd just come up to him and be like: "Put it out. Come with us."

I updated the senate page so that the RSS feeds are fixed on it. Now it loads in a reasonable time again.

Okay, so, does anyone secretly have a senator representing the Koukotsu System? It looks nice, has some well-populated worlds with a variety of climates. It's in the Yugumo Cluster, within spitting distance of the Lorath, and that's one of my favorite little political issues in the setting. There's also the whole 'colonial guy who helped process Jiyuuian refugees' aspect of Koji's background and it can work here as well.

Not that I can find. There is no link to that system from a character.

There, it's done.

Also, Wes, you really seem to enjoy 'liking' things. You've liked so many inane posts of mine that my alert box is filled with them when I go away for a while. I don't wanna be a dick, as it's really amusing to see you enjoying your new forum...

At the same time, it is a bit odd to occasionally see:

"I went out to the grocery store today. They were out of bread."

Wes likes this.

"LOOK OUT HE'S GOT A PIPE!"

One thing bugged her, there were rumours flying about that the majority of Neko's didn't want this, yet, if that were truly the case then this type of appeal would never have made it to the floor, which means that there are most likely a significant amount of Nekos that 'do' support the appeal. Which made her wonder, was someone manipulating information to try and make it seem like this isn't the case? Something like this wouldn't surprise her, not in the least.
As faction manager, I am telling you in no uncertain terms that a majority (maybe 60%) , of nekos agree with Yui. That is the SARP reality. Also, any bill can make it to the floor, it just takes one person to submit it.
