RP: Kennewes Offensive [Alpha Squad] The Hammer Falls

The sight of the lovers death played in her mind for a moment as she made her way into position stationing herself in place she watched Aerther aimed at Ran and Kokuten she shuts her eyes alerts drilling into her head. She looks around at the others and awaits further orders.

Tyler's Crooked Demon shifted it's position to face the two Greens, which were now in a humorously gay position on the ground. Unfortunately, the numerous sensors that went off in his PA's head notified him to the rest of the squad, and that he was right in their line of fire. "ALL REMAINING FORCES BREACH THE WALL." Was all Tyler got out as Harrison's PAL shot smacked into the chest of his CD.

Without his Crooked Demon's arm still held out, he hadn't managed to avoid being vaporized instantly from the devastating PAL, but his shields and chest armor had taken a horrible beating, as evidenced by the now melted and cracking chest armor. But he wasn't ready for what came screaming at him mere nanoseconds later...

...An H2, accompanied by all sorts of alerts in his PA was screaming towards him. Like some horrible one-two punch, the PAL shot had served to knock Tyler off his feet, damage and unnerve him, and the H2 missile would be the finishing blow, as it already added more damage to the front of the CD, blowing off his chest armor and damaging his Aether Generator, as well as cause discomfort to his legs.

Though Tyler was in fact still alive, his PA had quit on him, as all beeping alerts inside his PA were replaced by a horrible silence.

Just as the Red Sergeant's PA became crippled, a squad of Demons broke through the hole in the wall, opening their assault with a barrage of 40MM grenades from their Type 1s, while a few Cyclones threw several grenades downrange at the Green squad, hidden amongst the equipment. It became apparent that the Reds were now ready to destroy the facility in order to murder these damned Greens.

--------

"....Goddamn." Ran sighed to himself, taking both hands off of his head, a reaction to the numerous explosions that were going off extremely close to him. When he looked up, he nearly cheered, seeing the Power Armor responsible for his arm being blown off was either dead or inoperable. While getting back up, his knee hit something solid next to him, and looking down, discovered a Type 1 that had been blown towards him by the explosion.

"Fuck my arm, Kokuten, we gotta get back to the squad." Ran took the Type 1 in his left arm, intending on using it for fire suppression rather than actual marksmanship, especially since it wasn't registering on his WATER's fire control system for some reason. "Cmon, get up!" Was all Ran said, as the Demon squad and Cyclones breached the hole in the Facility's wall.

"SQUAD, suppressing fire on those Demons. Weave in and out of the equipment and wither them down as they advance." Upon being noticed by one of the Demons, Ran let loose a burst of fire from his Type 1. "Let's go!" Ran slapped Kokuten on the shoulder.

"That's how we do it in Greenville, you ugly-ass sonnuva bitch!" Harrison kicked the armor in the chest and took great pleasure in 'capturing' the two shoulder-mounted aether cannons before falling back and hammering the enemy position with one of his wrist chainguns.

"Yes sir!" Kokuten piped as he raised his SBR a let loose a spray of anti-matter while moving out into the open for a moment to drop into another position for cover.

Henry's morale had risen now that the bigger demon had Fallen. He turned on his megaphone and thought of something to taunt the Reds with, "You idiots - you preach of our death - yet it becomes you!!"

He used his spare hand to get an Anti-P.A Grenade, armed it and tossed it into the crowd of reds from the safety of a stack of barrels. He then got the order to Move and get out of the facility. He strafed from his cover with his LBR pointed to the reds and followed Ran to safety, while providing a bit of covering fire.

As the Reds filed through the wall, they would immediately disperse to the left and right, taking cover behind the main facility building as well as the numerous pipes that entered the facility from the outside. Once in cover, the Demons immediately opened fire upon Harrison, designating his FIRE as being a priority target. This would allow for both Cadet Ran and Sergeant Kokuten to make it back to their squad with relative ease.

As the Cyclones caught up with the Demons in cover, the Cyclones would become the group to set up suppressing fire on the Greens as the main group of Demons leap-frogged and serpentined closer to Alpha's position, throwing and firing grenades, then ducking back into cover as Henry's grenade went off dangerously close. Their aim would be to encircle the Greens on the edge of the cliff, forcing them into a dangerous last stand-type defenses.

Harrison's reaction to the situation was no reaction at all. He merely grabbed his PAL, stored the two aether cannons in one of the powered weapon cases and shot a PAL round at an approaching Cyclone. The shot was off, it hammered into a large, spire-like lightning rod and put a hole through it near the base. This de-stabilized the large construct, which shifted and fell into the hole where most of the Reds were coming from. The cyclone, however, remained mostly intact; save for a portion of its left arm and leg.

Ran dove past Henry and behind some cover, trailing several pot shots behind him, hitting the large metal crate that he was currently hiding behind. Gripping the grip tightly, he pulled the weapon close so that it was secure on his left shoulder and rounded the corner, catching a Demon coming out of cover. Aiming to where it's center mass would be, Ran emptied the entire clip on it, leaving it's chest area riddled with holes.

He then ducked under, as several of the Demon's enraged comrades returned fire upon him. "We need to break this attack fast, guys!"

-----

The Red Demons had haulted their assault for the moment, instead setting up a credible battle line to keep the Green's heads down, despite the withering fire that the Greens were sending their way. That shot from the Red colored PA had sent a lightning rod tumbling down, heavily damaging the legs of a Demon running back to the hole in the wall.

All in all there were only 4 Demons and 2 Cyclones left, and they had all gathered in cover, and were all pouring fire down at the Greens.

In this moment of the slog, a large group of power armors would be closing in on the rear of Alpha squad. This group seemed to have inserted from the sky, instead of having a mid-air drop like the squad had performed before. This company sized group consisted of an even devided squads of FIREs, WATERs, AIRs, and a new one seemingly at the lead, a bulky one, an EARTH. A transmission would break into the squad's frequency.

"This is Master General Pyros Thrull Westwood, I caught wind of your exploits from the NSS Hammerfell and couldn't help but feel like lending a hand."

The company of armors settled behind the squad's position, if any of the Red armors tried to retreat, they didn't get too far. The Armors on retinue with Pyros unleashed what could be described as a hellstorm of plasma and anti-matter on the remaining Reds in the area. Pyros himself making use of his EARTH's advanced ordenance projector, firing off missiles into the retreating, now dead, Reds.

When the smoke cleared, Pyros advanced to Alphas position at the building, sizing the group up.

"Which one of you leatherneck bastards is Ran Rui?" Pyros' rash and rusty voice sounded over the squad's communication.

Henry was just about to take aim and ventilate a Demon's frontal lobe, when a huge group of Greens Armours came from behind him and clearing out whoever was left.

He hesitated for a moment upon standing blankly and watching the onslaught that the Reds had finally deserved. The message from the Master General had also immobilised him. He had some idea of the chain of command. Mostly where he stood, and the Master General stood.

Once Pyros had asked where Ran was, Henry looked behind him and found Ran hiding behind his cover. He then faced the Master General and gave him a sharp salute.
"Sir, Cadet Rui is behind cover, sir."

"Master...General?" Ran thought to himself, only to find that this sudden appearance had taken his mind off of the fight. He soon found himself staring down the barrel of a Demon's Type 1, with his finger just barely applying enough pressure to float between that fine line of engaging and not engaging the trigger. Fully expecting his brain to shut down due to a finely-placed shot, he watched the dazzling display of firepower that the Green contingent brought with them, seeing each Demon and Cyclone that, previously before were about to kill him, explode.

"Goddamnit." Ran swore mostly out of relief, from suddenly being in a very stressful situation to being thrown into a more secure one. Realizing that he was behind cover in front of a superior officer, AS HENRY POINTED OUT NICELY, Ran stood up and dropped his now empty Type 1 on the ground. Sighing and waiting for the inevitable ass-chewing, he walked quickly on over to the Master General, raising his right hand for a salute.

But, upon seeing that his right arm now ended midway on his bicep, Ran lowered the stump and saluted with his left. "Cadet Rui, sir. Thank you for the support."

"Master General Westwood, sir. Permission to speak freely?" Now that the area was clear, Harrison's adrenaline rush was wearing down, and it showed. He looked weary, the arms of his PA sagged and his chest heaved with exhaustion. Yet, he was glad to see reinforcements.

Kokuten could only look up from his position and scan what in the world had just happened, to see that support had arrived. The Medic got up out of his position and jogged over to Henry, Harrison, Cheza and Ran. He popped a salute to the Master General as he came to a stop.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Pyros couldn't have seen a more worse for wear squad of Power Armors, these guys looked miserable. Though, that was not what he was here to do. He approached Ran in his rather large EARTH armor, and began to speak over the squad-wide COM.

"Cadet Rui, I-" The General began.

"Master General Westwood, sir. Permission to speak freely?"

Pyros' mono-eyes turned to the Marine that interupted him, he forgave the man. Will had begun to speak as soon as the General himself did. Plus, the man looked like shit.

"Permission granted, Soldier..." his voice trailed for a moment as if trying to find something, "Harrison."

"Yessir. Thanks for saving our asses back there, General. I don't think we could've held out for much longer, so you showed up just in time." Harrison then produced one of the aether cannons he had re-posessed from Sergeant Jackson's Crooked Demon.

"Also, I managed to... Eviscerate these weapons from one of the enemy power armors. Some sort of shoulder-mounted cannon that fires aether like nothing." He handed the cannon to Pyros.

"That's all I have to say."

Pyros took the cannon in hand, his mono-eyes surveying it. After a few moments, his head noded approvingly.

"Ulmer." said the Master General, with that an AIR2 trotted forward, and recieved the weapon from Pyros. Then the armor returned back to the group it was with, the Pyros' attention turning back to Will. "Good work, Harrison, as you were." Pyros said to the man, and turned his attention back to Ran.

"Now, Chief Rui..." The General started.

One of the armor behind Pyros cleared her throat audibly through the loudspeaker.

"Oh dammit, I keep forgetting, it's still 'Cadet' Rui. Yes, we need to discuss your actions here, Cadet. Do you have an explanation for what happened here?" Pyros' voice seemed to tumble at the start, but returned to it's serious tone near the middle..

God damnit, here it comes... Ran thought to himself, narrowing his eyes at the EARTH in front of him, happy that his PAs mask hid his face from the Master General.

"Sir, during our initial assault up the beach we encountered stiff Red resistance, in the form of several squads made up of Cyclones, Demons and Dark Demons. We were able to make them retreat when that thing showed up." Without looking back at it and keeping his PA's "face" affixed on the Master General's, he tilted his head back, motioning towards the destroyed Crooked Demon.

"When we encountered it, I was caught off-guard and incapacitated for a while. During this time, my squad was able to repel it. " He couldn't believe this. Minutes before they were under attack and now without warning he was walking himself into a trap to be chewed out by this man.

"Afterwards, we spent time setting up several rally points and defensive positions. The idea was to cause as many casualties at one point then retreat to another so that we wouldn't have to bear the brunt of a full assault by superior numbers on one single battle line." He cleared his throat, not bothering to turn off the comm channel while doing so. "Of course, they still took a pounding.."

"During our retreat to the second to the last rally point, Sergeant Kokuten and I were assaulted by the same Crooked Demon, delaying our retreat for a while. During this, members of this squad killed the Crooked Demon and we returned to our defensive line along this area. Then you guys showed up, sir." Ran kicked the dirt slightly. "I know it wasn't the most glorious plan to fight with, sir, but keeping my Marines alive for the longest time possible was my only concern." And at that, he simply stopped talking and looked up at the Master General, awaiting his reply.

"Sounds like their story matches the data and information we recieved." Pyros replied to Ran, he turned to his company of soldiers. The Master General seemed to be summing up the situation at hand.

"Quite the fight, Cadet. I believe you understand the meaning of 'retreat', do you?" The General grunted, a little anger sensible behind his voice.

That tore it. "Sir, did you find us fighting or did you find us cowering in the ocean down there?" Sure, his plan called for a fighting retreat, but it would have been a succession of retreats to a final last stand on the beach. For an entire horrible moment, he forgot the Master General's...and his own rank.

"That beach would have been our graveyard if we were unable to hold off the Reds any longer. You're damn right I understand the meaning of 'retreat' when it means that I can have my Marines last longer in a fight to kill as many enemies as possible, sir." He said that last bit tersely, bracing himself for a very familiar field-striping.

Pyros stood for a moment, listening in to Ran's discussion. When Ran finished, a FIRE from the group behind Pyros marched forward, in a seemingly infuriated manner. The Master General put an arm infront of the fire, and in a second of silence, broke out into a chuckle. The FIRE next to him seemed bewildered, and the group of armors behind him just seemed to trade glances through mono-eyes.

"Spoken like a true Marine, Rui, or... Ran? That's your first name, correct?" Pyros said, approaching the Cadet. "Son, do you know who these boys n' girls are?" Pyros made a gesture to the group behind him.

Seeing the FIRE march forward, Ran's hand anxiously slithered it's way to the Longsword that was dangling from a piece of leg armor jutting out from his left thigh. But upon listening to the chuckles that came from the Master General, merely sighed in relief. "Sir, yes sir. Ran." This Pyros was a bastard. But then, that's the type of person that he'd want leading the Marines, of all bunches.

His WATER's mono-eyes shifted towards the group of PAs behind the Master General. "Sir, no, sir. Though I'm guessing they'd have to be important to be traveling with you." He took a glance at the FIRE that had come forward and simply sneered at it, as if daring it to approach him again.
