Re: [Pre-Phase: Mission 2] Elevator Capacity

Zalus turned around to face the Woman that nudged him. "Hey wha- Why hello there my dear." Zalus went from a slightly annoyed look to a smile as soon as he saw the cutie that was next to him. "Well you see, I was feeling a little cramped in there and I felt like taking a little breather for a second. My name is Zalus might might your name be?" Zalus bowed his head slightly when he introduced himself.

Re: [Pre-Phase: Mission 2] Elevator Capacity

Fort Jarizas, Mazerin
Medical Bay Corridor
Malakai 1, 935
03:37, Commonwealth Standard Time

Rosni, a rather tall Curdatl, made his way with a tiny package held in both of his large hands. The Eyr Ranr Quatermaster had not exactly told him what was in the package, but the paper note attached gave some sort of hint. Though, Rosni wasn't exactly going to read something that the Lantulri said he could or could not read, that would just be nosy of him. So, Rosni just simply kept his face forward as he strolled into the Medical Bay.

"Lanbalri Al-Sumed! Rosni have package for you!" cheerly chimed the simple giant of a Curdatl with his deep, raspy voice. Though, with no response, he seemed to become extremely unsure of himself.

"L-Lanbalri Al-Sumed...? R-Rosni h-have package..." stuttered Rosni as he looked around. Nervously, he tip-toed into the bay, noting a few of the tanks and beds. Suddenly, he scurried out and looked up at the room's designation. It said, 'Medical Bay, with 'Amari Al-Sumed' right below it.

"Lanbalri Al-Sumed must be out for day." said Rosni to himself. He strolled back into the bay and set the box down with it's attached note. Then, as quickly as the Quartermaster's Assistant had arrived, he left quickly, accidentally hitting one of his horns on the door as he left.

Rosni's fumbling would show the box a little opened, giving a slight shimmer of something shiny within the box. The note attached was written with a neat flourish on a small stickie note.

Your order is taking a tad longer than expected, so I had one of my minions get this spare from his linksuit. Just ping me if you need anything else.

-Lantulri Agni Dev,
Quatermaster of Fort Jarizas

Re: [Pre-Phase: Mission 2] Elevator Capacity

"Err... no, thank you Sitari. It's quite alright." Serhan replied, politely expressing his refusal to her proposition. While the offer to resemble a functional officer of the Vanguard seemed rather attractive at the moment, he had to decline. "I'll not improve my own state at the detriment of a subordinate."

"If I really must see things properly, I'll use the optics of my linksuit's helmet. Otherwise, this is acceptable." He said, nodding to the purple and blonde blobs he surmised were 'Ismat and Zus. Ordinarily, he would feel something in the region of his arm as he was held around by a young woman, he noticed something rather more unusual. Saints, an inch taller. At least she does not have a bust to agonize me with.

He coughed into the palm of his free hand and nodded. "We should proceed to the terminal before our charge becomes impatient."

----

"Anik, Vadrano." The woman said with a grin, returning his bow through a mock curtsy with her jacket. "You'd ordinarily have to salute a Senshirin, but I might might not care." Anik chuckled and nudged Zalus in the shoulder with a half-shove with her hand and shrugged. She seemed to be, more than anything, rather bored with the situation she was involved in. "I hear you guys got first blood on those new Soono units. It was kind of a big deal in the news, although they kept you secret."

----

"He was nice, but now I'm not sure if I like him enough to overlook all of his flaws." Khiyai said sheepishly, tucking the jacket underneath her curled body to keep warmer. She seemed to be staring intently at the box of Sweetstones, but averted her eyes whenever she felt that she might be seen. "I- I do like him, but all he loves to do is argue and beat himself up too much."

The mechanist let out a quiet sigh. "I guess I outgrew my crush on him."

Re: [Pre-Phase: Mission 2] Elevator Capacity

Amari opened the box of Sweetstones, having caught the tail end of one of those sneaky glances. The good doctor gestured for Khiyai to eat to her heart's content as she placed the box between them.

"Something I have always thought of on the issue of crushes is this," Amari paused as she plucked one of the candies and popped it into her mouth.

"I believe crushes to be the question. The test of one's love for another, to see if it is possible, nay, worth moving forward with their feelings, and into a deeper relationship and commitment with one you care for. Over time, a crush gives you the answer to such things and I think you have yours."

Re: [Pre-Phase: Mission 2] Elevator Capacity

"Well I may or may not have been responsible for two of those kills. I'm not sure If I'm allowed to confirm that or not. You don't seem to pleased to be here ma'am, any way I can help?" Zalus started to fidget a little to keep his blood flowing. He was used to the cold of the airships but he was also used to wearing a bit more while out of bed on the ship.

Re: [Pre-Phase: Mission 2] Elevator Capacity

"Of course, Marranr" Zus answered to Serhan's request that they head toward their charges. She placed a hand on the small of his back, and held his right arm with her right hand to more easily maneuver the legally blind Marranr. That accomplished, she gave him a little push and began walking toward the Pop idol and her guards.

Re: [Pre-Phase: Mission 2] Elevator Capacity

Realising his mistake, Malik saluted the(unfortunately) blind Marranr, and began backing up to his Vandr and climbing into the cockpit, neatly folding his uniform jacket back up. The impulsive young runner then facepalmed as Prajna began to fill the cockpit again, inwardly berating himself over his impulsiveness.

Re: [Pre-Phase: Mission 2] Elevator Capacity

Savitar just remained in his VANDR after they'd landed and just sighed some as they were instructed to stay behind and let the Marranr go off on his own. Yeah he was trying to be big playboy by going with only the female pilots, jackass. "Well I guess all we can do is chill out here until something happens huh?", he asked the others.

Re: [Pre-Phase: Mission 2] Elevator Capacity

'Ismat put the glasses back on. "If you're sure, Marranr. Just don't trip over something." She followed Zus and Serhan towards the others, resisting her fun side's urge to trip the practically blind CO.

Re: [Pre-Phase: Mission 2] Elevator Capacity

RESUME

The cold winds buffeted the three assisting Serhan, the chilly air trying to fight its way through their coats, and right into the marrow of their bones. They were heading towards the terminal, and their waiting charge. The remaining runners sticking close to their VANDR, and the Support team staying safely inside of the Quodr. The operation was going smoothly thus far. Their charge had something to reveal or rather, say to the Marranr in person, necessitating this whole ordeal of leaving the warmth of their VANDR. They had not spoken of it, save for the 'importance' of it, and imperative nature of speaking to Serhan. Whatever it maybe about, was anyone's guess. But as they made their way towards their destination, the question could have arose as to the nature of just what this was all about. Afterall, it was supposed to be a simple job now however a wrench had been thrown into the smooth working cogs, a wildcard in the hand.

Zus shivered, still guiding the Marranr to his destination. She hated the cold, her Airship having stayed mostly in the warmer regions of her homeland, and was definitely not used to it. despite the linksuit being a good space suit, the fact that it was wet with Prajna helped cool her even more, the liquid now probably getting near its freezing point. Fighting to keep her teeth from chattering, Zus kept on.

'Ismat stayed at Serhan's side as well, hugging herself in a failing attempt to keep warm. Why did they really have to meet outside? Wasn't there some nice warm place they could have landed so they could have this chat without fearing a toe or finger freezing off?

Savitar had stayed in his VANDR the whole time and was cackling a bit at the poor wingmates out in the cold. "Oh it sucks to be them..." he commented offhandly to the other pilots.

The three runners and the officer they accompanied approached the tall windowed structure that encircled the far half of the landing pad, the terminus where the strange MiSHARA was to tell them some information of note. The air was not bitterly cold, only a few degrees below freezing and rather humid with the snowfall, but to one who grew up in the colonies or the hot and mild climates of Maekardan and Hlarai, it might as well be a blizzard with no end that obscured the sky and air with the crystalline petals of frozen water. What a Mazerinii would call a day out skiing or hiking in the backcountry seemed to be the nightmare of people reared elsewhere.
The black landing pad was not cold or slippery, but unusually rough and traced with bands of a glowing yellow and red, and rather hot to the touch. Water drained away through unseen seams, causing the entire surface to have fantastic traction as they walked. It was rather easy to reach the entrance to the terminal.

Serhan nodded to Zus and 'Ismat as they passed through the glass doors that led into the terminal, not particularly feeling any strong resentment or happiness about the change in temperature. Having lived on the world of ice and snow long enough, he had become rather acclimatized to the weather, although he still thought of certain wintertime swimming habits of the locals to be somewhat suicidal. "Now then, please abstain from emotional outbursts. However, since you're all rather competent runners, you may speak freely about this intelligence we are receiving."

He ruffled his brown hair and smiled."Impress me."

"I don't like taking care of this princess when I know that the most interesting that's gonna happen is me or my buddies taking a laizblast to the livers for her." Anik yawned and filched a small flask from inside her jacket, uncorking it. Steam billowed from the round, narrow opening at the top, and a smell of a spicy vegetable soup spiked with some kind of alcohol wafted to Zalus' nostrils. She took a small swig and let out a satisfied sigh, holding it out for him gingerly. "Wanna have some? It's only a tablespoon of goodstuff in the entire batch, and I did it during the cooking. Shouldn't mess you up."

Malik crouched in Shamshir, eyes closed as faint music played inside the frame's cockpit. The runner let out a soft sight as he heard his 'wingmate' over the comms. "Savitar, not right now, and not ever. You shouldn't talk about our allies like that around me. I actually care about the Vanguard's causes."

"Ugh Malik, chill. I mean due to the fact it's too damn cold out there." Savitar said as he reclined back in his pilots seat in Shiva's cockpit. "I like those two well enough but I wouldn't trade places with them."

Zalus shruged and reached out for the flask. "Thank you ma'am." He took a small sip of the soup and handed the flask back. "Well I don't know about you, but I don't plan on taking any fire." Zalus took a look around the hangar and over to Nara. "Well the lady's calling me back. I have to get back to my Vander. Unless you want to talk for a bit longer." Zalus smiled.

"It's not easy to chill when you're as hotblooded as I am, Savitar." Malik grinned, the visible effect lost over the comms, but the somewhat firery tone coming through loud and clear

"Then step outside without a space suit on, that should do it." Savitar said dryly.

"Yes, Marranr," 'Ismat replied after a sigh of happiness. It was warm again. "I don't even know who this MiShara is, so I can't really go giddy fangirl on us. So, you can count on me." The VIA operative smiled.

"Will you two knock it off? Malik, don't even think about doing anything that stupid, Khiyai's here remember?" Alia all but shouted across the comm.

"Thank you, Marranr, for trusting us." Zus echoed. "I will try my hardest not to act like a raging fangirl when MiSHARA shows up, which should be easy considering our current state of Frozen" she added.

Malik leaned back in his seat, stretching his arms. "I want to do something, damn it. Not only are we stuck babysitting a popstar, It's the girls who get to go meet her! What are we, just the little green plants that garnish a nice hearty dish?" The heated runner slumped in his seat, pouting. "I wish something would attack us, so we can have something to do."

Savitar jolted and turned his audio down a bit. "I hear you Alia. Geezus you don't have to shout at us." he said. "And why not just bullshit? Not like we've got much else to do unless something happens...unless you wanna come up here and have some fun..." he teased the engineer.

"..." Alia looked over her shoulder to Khiyai and Amari. After shutting the comm off she slumped in her seat. "Khiyai, can you talk to Malik and make him not tempt fate?"

MiSHARA and her entourage kept a sort of precise stare as the party of frame runners approached, the face of the cloaked and hooded girl forming into a small smile as she observed them come closer. The girl's dark pink eyes blinked as she found the sight of the tallish man being tended to by a taller young woman strange, but merely let out a quiet giggle into the palm of her hand. She seemed to find it amusing.

"Greetings, Marranr Nejem."The pop idol removed her hood and made a small curtsy to the runners, exposing her hair and horns to them. But unlike those of a typical Iromakuanhe, those things which jutted from the sides her head seemed to be cast from a lustrous beige composite, the thin gaps in the material a swirl of glowing yellow lines. She made a smile, and the glow on the antena-like wedges that adorned the sides of her face changed color, turning into a soft shade of pink.

The cloaked giants that followed her appeared to have similar, unnatural circles of light coming from underneath their shrouded faces, forming the vague outlines of eyes and strange. Unnatural features. Their gaunt appearance at this distance only seemed to be amplified, until they seemed more like spindly giants with arms like long, flat boards and blunt, rounded hands. "My guardians are similar to be, but we are different beings" The strange girl nodded, fidgeting with incertainty as she realized she would probably be stared out now. She glanced up with a curious look, and placed her dainty and pale, rosy hands onto her robed hips. The material that covered her robe was pulled into a strange hourglass shape. "I suppose I should tell you what the Altjirans want you to know?"

Amari placed a hand about Alia's waist and sighed. "Now now my sweet, let's just stay calm, and relax. Everything is going fine, and a little useless banter won't hurt them." The doctor seemed in good spirits despite the weather, and obvious lack of things to do as she nibbled on a sweetstone. "Besides, it teaches the young man patience by sitting idle. He may kick scream, and have a tantrum but it does him no good. But to wait"

Anik nodded with a smile, giving Zalus a bright wave. "Take care flyboy. Here's to you keeping my shuttle from getting shot down." The infantrywoman said with a flourish, as she took a large gulp of the soup and walked off to catch up with the remainder of the people escorting the pop idol she seemed to think so little of.

Zus Stared. Not impolitely of course, she masked it well by pretending it was amused interest. What the hell is she? the Eyr Ranr thought, completely confused by the pop Idol's strange features, especially the glowy bits.

Zalus waved and jogged back to Nara and jumped back in. "Well then, Next time I'm going to double check the orders to disembark into a cold hangar before doing so..."

'Ismat cocked her head to the side curiously, looking over the strange being in front of her. "...Oh uh, hello MiSHARA," she greeted with a small bow. She resisted the urge to ask the obvious question. However, she did look up at the guards and examined them curiously.

Serhan blinked, and squinted. As all he could see where lights and colors, he felt no other options save to shut off his own senses and use the frontal optics employed by the linksuit. Since it was already connected to his nervous system, it was as simple as the flick of a mental switch to make the suit reroute his eyesight to its own. It felt unnatural and lower than he was used to, but it couldn't be helped. Giving the horns a cursory glance, he made a small humming as he observed the stubtle intricacies of her design, and quirked an eyebrow. "Altjira Biomedical is involved in this, then? I suppose that means that you and your staff are one of their newest series. Of course..."

He let out another, less curious 'hmph' and resumed. "But that body is just a shell for Solanii property, isn't it?"

Zus continued her stare, but looked to Serhan, confused at what he was saying. She kept her mouth shut, but figured she could let the Marranr stand on his own now, releasing his arm and standing in a more proper pose.

MiSHARA nodded silently, crossing her arms beneath her long cloak. "Lakshmi thinks that it's crass of me to pick this up as a hobby for my later years, but this is how I want to be remembered after I'm euthanized." She giggled and twirled around, causing the tall figures around her to stir. The infantrymen seemed ambivalent, and simply sat back attempting to catch a moment's respite. "A girl's body is more fun most of the time, too, and I like the timbre of a female voice. It's certainly great that I am the servant of such a forward-thinking people." She turned to glance at the runners and sighed. "So a hint. Of the original three NI ever produced... I'm not the really famous one, and I'm not the crazy one."

Alia quickly stole another sweetstone from Amari and nibbled on it herself. "Yeah I know, but I kinda agree with him. It is really boring, but atleast I'll get something to do when we get back."

Savitar just sighed and began to doze off some, going unresponsive for a short time.

Amari arched an eyebrow at the mechanist. "Oh, what pray tell would that be?" The doctor asked as she rattled the box of candy, noting it was getting rather low...

"It might not be that bad outside for VANDR, but I'll be running some tests to see how their systems work in the various troposphere of this planet." Alia responded as she swallowed the sweetstone and made for another.

"Enlil?" Zus asked, cocking an eye at the construct before them, recalling a random bit of trivia from her younger years. she found it odd that such a thing would have become a Pop Idol, but figured everything had to have its own eccentricities, even an artificially created intelligence construct.

Amari smiled a little as she watched Alia take another. "Wouldn't it be possible for you to just...oh I don't know...ask the VANDR, now?" The woman asked as she began fussing over the little tinkling bells in the single tiny braid running along the left side of her bangs.

Khiyai roused herself from her rest and glanced at Amari. She did not speak, instead giving her a long stare, speaking only after she blew her bangs out of her eyes. "That requires the NI develops to a sentient level. Which takes... almost two years."

"Actually...I ment requesting the relevant data, Alia was wanting." Amari tweaked Khiyai's nose as she reached behind her, and fished out another jacket, placing it on the girl. "Even current non-sentient A.I can receive a request from a mechanist for data taken from its tactile sensors, minus how it feels on the matter of course as it lacks sentience."

Re: [Pre-Phase: Mission 2] Elevator Capacity

RESUME

"The youth of this generation are pleasantly surprising. I wouldn't have expect that kind of response." The 'pop idol' grinned and made a curiously 'hmph', before tugging on the sleeves of one of her guardians. “Check out to see if that transport is here, okay?” She said quietly, in a slightly worried tone. The slight face with bright pink eyes glanced back at the frame runners, and put on a clearly forced smile. “Call me Ninlil, since that other name doesn't quite fit this body. Not that it matters, since as an NI that was created without the need for an operator, I don't really have any imprinted characteristics or conceptions of gender like you natural types.”

“Well...” Serhan nodded along dourly, seemingly having trouble to quite make sense of all this. Although all of the facts made perfect sense, and fit together in a manner, none of it was really necessary and seemed like an enormous waste of his time to hear about. It seemed like 'she' had more to say, else he'd just leave with his wing and get back into their VANDR without another delay. “... as an original model, I imagine that your importance does not teeter on the pecularities of your body . Could you, perhaps, you could expand on the information relevant to this mission?”

“No fun. The ones that aren't young or old are always no fun. Enlil/Ninlil/MiSHARA stuck out her tongue and bit it, letting out a small sigh. She mimicked his blank expression in a comical, exagerated manner, seemingly unable to hold the face for more than a few seconds. A hand went up to her face as another pressed against her stomach, and she began to supress a strong urge to laugh at the strange sensation of forcing her face into such an unusually inert shape. “Haa haa, fufufufu. I suppose, it wouldn't hurt to tell you.”

Noticing what they interpreted as discomfort, the remaining two guardians stirred again, stretching out their cloaked arms, the shiny tips of mechanical fingers peeking out from underneath, but relented at the last moment. It seemed she had communicated with them and told them to do stop.

“Well, really. It's just an issue of the NI core in my body, that a lot of people want to get their hands on. A few terrorist groups already know, and this threat from the VKRL or whoever it is this time was serious enough for Solan force me to request a military escort.” Ninlil blinked and seemed genuinely bothered by this. “I'm still property, even though I'm free range. Digital cattle of theirs.”

"And why is your NI core so sought after... Ninlil" Zus asked, seeming interested and possibly entranced by what she could learn from the construct standing before her.

'Ismat smiled. She liked this NI! He... she... it... Ninlil was funny, and could do what other people couldn't, at least without some worry of getting in trouble, and that was poke fun at the stoic CO. The VIA operative stayed quiet, the point of this conversation seemingly obvious at this point.

Reovan walked in from where the VANDRs were. She had seemed preoccupied with something the whole mission thus far. Walking over to Zus, she whispered at the taller girl, "How're things going so far?"

Zus was mildly startled by Reovan's sudden presence, but didn't show it. The girl turned toward her friend, very quickly to try not to be rude to Ninlil, saying "it seems to be going well, how are the other runners?"

"Oh my, and quite a harem. Nightmares for a boring guy like you, being such a cad!" Ninlil said half-jokingly, placing her hands onto her hips. She seemed deeply amused, and rather fearless as she said something entirely ridiculous and somewhat offensive. "I'm a warehouse full of ancient treasures. I don't have absolute memory, as my data capacitance is similar to those of humanoids, but old OMNI like me are skeleton keys. Even if my permissions were revoked, there wouldn't be much that they couldn't access if they just used some of the secret access keys buried in my lower subroutines."

The Sund Wakir girl ran her fingers through her hair and took out the elastic holding it back in a ponytail. "They're doing well enough," she answered her roommate. "The VANDR are doing fine and such and such." She crossed her arms and looked at the Freespacer, a very confused look on her face. Looking up at Zus, Reovan asked, "Everything okay with her?"

'Ismat nodded, figuring that was the case with the Organoid NI. She turned to Reovan and gave a small wave in greeting. "Nice of you to join us, Reovan."

Ding ding! Chimed an elevator down the way, one of the four on the floor that the group was on.

"You are now on Floor One Hundred Ten." chimed a calm electronic voice as the door opened. Then, out stepped five figures who seemed to be wearing what seemed to be Guard Robes, typical of Temple Guardsmen. It was evident they were each carrying some sort of package or weapon under them by the way their arms were. Though, one peculiar asset of the robes they wore, was the lack of a metal mantle.

All five approached, lined, seemingly to look as professional as they could. The man in the middle stood forward. He laid a darkened gaze on Ninlil, her guards, and then the present members of Bahram Wing.

"By order of the Guard Hall here on Mazerin, we're taking MiSHARA into private custody." said the forward one, his gaze a little dark for a holy man.

Serhan glanced over at the five of them curiously, using the digital eyes of his suit instead of his own blunted senses, and shrugged."Well, that would certainly place you at odds with myself and my wing." He said in a blank tone, attempting to feign an extreme degree of ignorance to the things that felt a little off. "We are to escort her to the Urenbeck Gate, so that the cultural exchange there goes according to plan. My orders come from Solan and the planetary governor." He grinned, and wrapped his hand around the grips of his carbine. "I'll gladly kowtow to rank, of course."

Noting Serhan's readiness, Reovan placed her own hand on her faelrig, easing the elastic off of her fingers and down onto the handle of the weapon. Looking from the Guards to her Commander, the dark skinned girl tried to assess the situation. What's going on? she thought to herself.

The leader's face hardened, the men behind him carrying equally straight faces, except one man, who was eyeing Reovan lustfully. "The High Guardian himself has issued these orders, is that rank enough for you?"

I don't like the look of these guys Zus thought, her hand shifting closer to the pistol on her belt. She seemed to be getting a sort of dark feeling from them, very different from the presence of Mu'tasim, which had always been a light, warming presence. Something was wrong, very wrong.

'Ismat didn't make any aggressive moves, as her comrades had done. It would only make things more tense whit it was seemingly on the brink of a conflict already. She stayed calm and looked about the room. At the very least, the 'good' guys outnumbered the suspicious temple guards.

"Of course it isn't." Serhan said calmly, as he clicked the safety of his weapon off. It came alive with a small electrical ring, small power conduits lining the sides lighting up a light blue. His expression became a little stern, but blanked of any feeling as he gave them an appraising, yet dismissive glance. "I don't care where the orders came from. You simply... have no authority over me, as civilians."

"Oh god dammit." said one of the Guard behind the Leader. The Leader heaved a sigh for a moment, knowing that their cover was trully blown thanks to their bumbling comerade. "Fine, you got us," The Leader began to pull out his SMG along with the other members, "But we're taking her with us!"

Clicking on her own weapon, Reovan drew the blade and let it light up. It occered to her at this point to notice that these guard had guns with them, but she hoped that in the small space they had there, that the sword would be good enough for now. Gripping it tightly in both hands, she assumed a combat stance. Well, what she considered a combat stance. To a train soldier, it looked more like she was fit to dance.

The squabble between the unidentified would-be kidnappers and the present members of Bahram Wing was interupted by a single large white canister crashing in the distance followed by a dispersion of some kind of particle, causing sensors and electronics to register unusual activity. Using the electronic fog caused by their decoy, a group of three long tubular frames with spindly arms and smooth triangular shoulders, swooped overhead, those who were at the front of this formation coming down on the the platform loudly and without warning.

These units were Soono, painted black with a monochromatic red banner of some unknown type painted across the back, chest and shoulders. The black-clad trio lunged at the red VANDR, Famasir, and tackled the frame into the abyss between the platform and the surrounding buildings, a series of perceptible blasts and flashes going off bellow soon afterwards. Mu'Tasim's communications, as well as those of the entire wing were seemingly disabled, inhibited by the field generated by the canister.

Another eleven Soono began to approach some tens of kilometers from the opposite direction, only detectable because of the immense speeds they were moving at, the strong energy disgnatures at the spearhead.

"Saints Dammit." The leader said looking out the window, unwittingly putting his back to the group behind him. The other members of the small task force sent to take MiSHARA also seemed a little lost in the confusion, and the sudden bit of action. "They're going bring the top of the terminal down on us!" panicked one of the Iroma.

'Ismat, with her VIA training, drew her weapon, activated, and pointed it at the temple guard nearest to her, aiming for the arm; it was somewhere to cripple and not kill, and hopefully prevent any shooting. Then, with the chaos of the canister, she took the opportunity to attempt to sweep the leader of the guards to the ground, using the pistol as a deterrent, should it work, from attempting to get back up

Zus did what she thought was Pertinent. They wanted Nenlin, so the young Eyr Ranr grabbed the NI construct, simultaneously pulling her pistol out, pointing it at the fake Temple Guards and Pulling Nenlil towards the doors saying "I'm sorry but I think it's best if we move you out of the way" to the NI turned Pop star. She hoped the NI's own guards would not try to kill her as she attempted to save the ancient computer.

Reovan took the opportunity with the explosions and all the confusion to follow her rommate's lead and cover the NI's escape wither her own body. At the very least, it would make the computer less of an easy target to hit, and hopefully their enemies would have more conpunction before shooting another Iromakuanhe.

The top of the Marranr's carbine pointed up at a series of planters that hung across small metal pots that ran across the vast expanse of the slanted ceiling, and delivered a rapid burst of laser fire, aiming up to break the ceramic and glass pots through heat shift, or weaken the beams enough to cause them to collapse. He hadn't aimed nearly enough for it to be either of those actions, specifically. He barely glanced at 'Ismat before he took her by the shoulder and began to move, loosely firing his carbine in front of the kidnappers to keep them back. "...run!" Serhan immediately willed his helmet to shut so that he would be able to see more effectively, causing it to slide out of its collapsed state at the base of his neck, slide over, and made a dash for the door.

"Argh!" One of the men grabbed his arm, then fell to the ground, the shot piercing through and cutting through one of the ports in his back, causing him extreme pain. The unsuspecting lead man fell to the floor from the swipe to his feet and was stunned for second, only to regain himself with 'Ismat's gun in his face. The Marranr's quick movement got that gun out of his face.

However, as he was looking up, he noticed the falling planters, and tried to scurry to save himself. The other three men, recently tuning in, spread out everywhich way to avoid the planters, leaving their shot man on the ground.

With the others leaving, 'Ismat took that cue as a time to get out. She still kept an eye on the guards as she followed the others out, her pistol still raised and waiting. This mission had certainly gone to hell pretty quickly.

Security protocols in the terminal initiated a lockdown, causing the door to lock permanently, placing a bulwark of starship-grade window material between them and the hostile group of men. Inside, the sounds of combat could be heard, as the infantrymen and statuesque giants they had left behind now proceeded to take the four remaining kidnappers down.
