This is going to be long, so I'll also give a short version too.
Fian's Fian and Fenix's Dex both opened fire on the kids before your own post ShotJon. However, Fian only shot the gray one, while Dex shot as many as he possibly could. I'm sorry that you guys feel like this has been autoed, but that's not what I intended. From the start, I decided that this situation had three "Conditions" in regards to the back alley, with the Hotel Front working in a similar way. First, that the kids were pretty much set on attacking to try and get Kira - that they thought about it ahead of time and wanted to do it. Second, that whoever had the gun, would remain consistent; even though guns are common in Nepleslia, I decided that things would be more interesting if they weren't always in everyone's possession, effectively changing the power dynamics. Third, that anything could happen based off what decisions were made by people's characters.
What happened here was that both Kira and Fian were trying to be merciful, meanwhile, Nacon told them to immediately kill them if they were going to get in the way. Meanwhile, Dex wasn't, and was just like Nacon. Our characters' position is much more powerful than the gangsters, but they don't know that. That perspective should be kept in mind. If both Fian and Dex had the same intent, that is, holding their fire after only killing the gun toting one, then yes, the rest would have lived since the action would have pretty much crushed the first "Condition". Here, the two most extreme examples - killing them outright, and trying to be pacifist (and I don't use the word with any negativity) - effectively had the same result. Being the GM, I need to say this right out in the open; you'll be most often best off taking the middle road.
Something like immediately pulling a gun on them, for an example, would have prevented the shooting in this situation - looking at it from the gangster's point of view, even if the gun were pointed at the person without the gun, most wouldn't feel it'd be worth drawing. After all, they'd be thinking, "Can I draw fast enough?" With a gun buried in a thick jacket's pocket, in this freezing weather, against one or even two people who already have theirs out and are on edge? No. Even Ira knows that first hand - he barely made it.

The short version, is that Dex shot them all while Fian only shot the gray one, and that I won't pre-determine any outcomes here in this plot. That's a definite promise.
Whatever direction I point the encounters and even plot at, you guys can change. Here, in this plot, you guys will come across very unenviable and morally broken situations - its up to you guys to think fast on your feet for a way out. Given the situation, I can either retcon and fix what happened, or we can go forward as it is. Your characters, if they didn't want to kill these teenagers very badly, would most likely be rather chewed up by this though. Personally? I would enjoy role playing my own character going through this stuff, since this is all what it says on the tin - playing a role for fun. IIRC, Lam, when he was taking a break from SARP, gave out quite a eulogy where he even named off some folks' traits that he found worthwhile; mine, was "Damaged Goods". I have fun playing characters that are going through bad times, and feel bad for various reasons.
But that's just me. What you guys want though, is what I'm asking, since that's the way we'll go. This is all pointless if it isn't fun after all.

Also, does putting all your names in the top of a post help? I know it sends out a notification to everyone.
