OOC Black Knights/Byakuren Discussion

Well, first off... yeah, there's reading to catch up on. I suggest you take the time to go through it, especially considering how even if Rolf was a sidelined character, he was at least peripherically present in some shape or form.

There's also a passage of time involved (6 to 12 months between 2.x and 3.x), so, you may want to figure out what he might have done of his time. Last I heard, Suzume had coaxed out of him that maybe what he really wanted to become besides a groundpounder is a ship's captain, like his dad was. Given months of time to contemplate his next step, what might he have moved towards?
- Stagnate? Vacation? Go back to getting part-time jobs?
- Pursue his military education to earn some specialization and qualify for the Juni-rank?
- Figure that to captain he needs knowledge tying in to that, and take up Starship Operator studies?
- Decide that if his true calling is command, that he should try to study in order to earn himself a commissioned officer rank?
- Screw the military, if he wants a ship, he can buy it himself and then figure the rest out on the fly. There must be a shuttle or a freighter with his name somewhere out there that he can get for himself (and a substancial wad of cash).

Finally, you may want to arrange how you'd like to participate again. I'd point you to my FYI thread on the matter, explaining how I personally intended to deal with an expanded cast of characters.

The universe will rue this day. Besides, what's to say he hasn't been studying the majority of time while he's been sidelined?

I was just throwing ideas. Usually, people take advantage of downtime to effect character growth of somekind.

For example, @Kim may have Sora go from cuddly medic/diplomat to katana-wielding femme fatale.

Right, as opposed to character degrowth I did with Rolf last time he had freetime. I'd like to show a little bit that his time spent among the Miharu's (and Yuzuki) was not lost on him entirely, and maybe some of the results of that could show when he comes back.

As a language learner who has took on a fairly difficult language in the most ham-fisted way possible, I recommend Kotori start slamming those vocabulary lessons now, or she'll regret it later.
 
Poor Tom. He left to get tea and expected people to come up, gets told they're kind of sitting still, returns and by the time he arrives, there's no one left: everyone went their separate way!

So, it's just Tom, some snacks and four cups of tea.

Just so you guys know, I believe we're mostly done with thread 2.8

What remains pending from my point of view is the question of Celine's involvement. We've explored recovery, revivals (in many facets), explored the rough spots of certain relationships along with Kotori's condition... so, I kind of feel the plate is full and that we're ready to move on.

The ship doesn't yet have sufficient amenities to support people overnight, so, the characters are to be relocated to the Miles High Hotel when the day end. I can narrate that much. I can also leave the thread open for any roleplay you people might want to do for that evening.

Thread 2.9 is to begin at the Miles High Hotel on the next day.
 
Rolf would be a good source advice at this junction. Who better than a fella who's dated several Neko over his career?
