Saki looked the recruit who came out of shuttle with her. She didn't have time to talk with yet. Maybe he will be in different class too. He had uniform of scientris, while she was infantry. So far she only bowed her head to greet him.

Then she turned again and enjoyed the ride. She alse had problem with acclimatization. Although ti was not that bad, higher gravity was a nasty thing. It was a little harder to breath and she felt added weight on her shoulders.

When LUT pulled up Saki took her things and left the car. "Yes ma'am," she replied to driver and stood before man she pointed to. She quickly looked at his rank and bowed to him accordingly to it. Then she waited for him to start. He had probably something to say to them first.

Kagi Airo hopped into the LUT and sat speechless as it sped away. He looked over to the other recruit and studied her a moment. 'Infantry. Good luck dear.' he thought, cruelly, to himself, though he knew he'd need it himself. 'Maybe if I make friends with her, she can help me at fighting...and shooting?' he frowned at the idea, but then realized he was staring and lowered his eyes.

When the vehicle arrived Airo exited, once again stumbling with his belongings. 'Stupid...uniforms...' The red haired man looked back to the LUT to acknowledge the driver's instructions, but she had driven off. He followed the neko and bowed to the man as she did.

"Listen up! You barracks is across this large field, on the right side of the courtyard. Bring your stuff up the stairs, turn right, and my recruits are staying at the end of the hall. Welcome to Fort Ready! Report immediately to the firing range after dropping off your stuff! GO!" Ramiro waited about thirty seconds for the others to get ahead before jogging his way back to the firing range.

"Yes sir!" said Saki and immedietly took of for barracks. It wasn'T that close so she jogged. She would run, but she didn't want to lose her scientist shuttle-buddy. She ran right across the parade grounds hoping there is no problem in it. There was no parade after all and going aroudn it would take ages. THen between military police and fire station and than into barracks. She remembered map she before good and with parade ground and spaceport as orientaion points it was easy.

Up the stairs, turin right and at the end of the hall. Saki entered that room and threw her stuff inside near a wall. Okay now to the firing range. She turned around to go there when it hit her. She looked at scientist. "I think we have a little problem. Intructor said firing range, but Fort ready has two of them. One for pistols and for rifles. Where should we go?" Saki asked him.

Saito stepped up to the table where the Longbolt was and gripped it, allowing the butt to rest against the area above her armpit. Her right index finger rested about the trigger as she leaned forward into the shot as she eyed the scope to aim her shot. When she had the shot she let out her breath slowly as she lower in finger on the trigger and pulled. She did the same thing for the second shot.

Airo bowed to his instructor and hurried off to the barracks. 'No male/female barracks? I guess I'm okay with this. Not like I'm just out of school or anything...' He stuffed his bags under the nearest empty bed.

"I think we have a little problem. Intructor said firing range, but Fort ready has two of them. One for pistols and for rifles. Where should we go?" Alarm rang through Airo as she asked. 'Fantastic...guns...already.' He shrugged and replied "I guess pistols. Start small?" He looked over his map and nodded. Airo trudged out of the barracks with dread. "I've never...you know...used fired one before. I kind of hoped we'd start off with marching...or something." He looked to her and shrugged. 'She seems nice enough.'

((OOC: Holy crap. A 92 and 100 on the rolls, and I didn't modify them at all.))

Saito's first shot hit just a tiny bit outside and to the left of the bullseye, nice and solid. The second one, possibly buoyed by her already close shot, struck home to the center of the target, about half an inch off of the first one.

Aendri's eyebrow went up, and he turned back to the group. "Well, look at that. This is why you never question why someone doesn't want to shoot. Your new best friend, the medic, is probably on of the best shots out here." He gestured at the next person in line. "You're the lucky one though. You get to puzzle out how to switch magazines on a non energy weapon. There's a spare in the case right there."

Saki smiled at him. "Come on, shooting is fun. At least in training." she said and started walking to firing ranges. "And so what if you have never shot before? This is training facility isn't it? You are supposed to learn things here." She added and started to jog. It is strange. Why he didn't fire in basic? Well he wasn't neko. Maybe Yammatians and scientist have different training in basic.

In front of barrack she stopped and looked at scientist. "Oh by the way. I am Arai Saki. Pleased to meet you." She introduced herself and bowed slightly. She waited fot him to introduce himself and continoued to the firing ranges. Back to the parade and to the right in direction to firing ranges.

She stopped where road divided. Left to rifle range, right to pistol range. Then she heard sound similiar to rifle shot from left. "I think a heard fire from the rifle range." She said to scientist.

Yoshiro took his turn at the rifle. He looked for the magazine catch and released the empty magazine. He then took the spare one and then after fumbling around for a minute put it in the gun. He worked the bolt, having a bit of trouble but managing to get the first round in the chamber, using the scope he aimed for center mass and fired. He then worked the bolt again and fired the second round. He rubbed his shoulder as he waited for his results. Dang that gun got a heck of a kick. That really hurt. Yoshiro thought to himself.

"Well done Saito," Ramiro said as he came walking back into the firing range. "Keep this up an you might make top of the class!" He walked over and took a seat off to the side so that Aendri could continue is teaching.

Airo nodded to Saki at her introduction and replied "Kagi Airo." He shrugged and continued sarcastically "If you say they're fun, then they must be." He shook his head and jogged after her to the rifles range. 'So much for starting small and simple.'

By the time they arrived at the range Airo's body was shaking with adrenaline. He could hardly keep his hands from shaking. He waited for the one currently firing to finish his clip. The Yamataian scientist took a deep breath before he approached the instructor, tentatively, and bowed slowly. "Santô Hei Kagi."

Yoshiro's shot's weren't quite on target, hitting a bit high and to the right of the bullseye, about an inch off, but the grouping was just about perfect, only about a quarter of an inch of separation.

"Not half bad, rookie. Not only did you manage to reload it without too much failure, but your grouping looks pretty good for a first time sharpshooter." Aendri shrugged. "Like I said, don't worry about missing the bullseye too much. You can adjust your scope to compensate for that easily. Yoshiko. Your turn."

So his name is Kagi-san. Almost sound like Kage. If he weren't scientist Saki could call him Shadow. Well maybe she will.

He didn't as much as answered to her and jogged to rifles range. Well they have to try one of the ranges so why not start with rifles. Saki jogged after him and after a while they had firing range in front of them. They could few other trainees firing from projectile rifle. She also saw instructor who told them what to do. There was one other next to him.

She just noded to herself and jogged to instructors. There she stopped and bowed low. "Santô Hei Arai Saki reporting for training!" She said then.

Ramiro saw the recruit walk over and waved him over. When the recruit was near enough he said, "We're just finishing up with weapons training, so if you just stick around for a little bit then we'll move on to something new." Ramiro turned his attention back to the group.

Airo's brain was racing. 'Breathe in, plant back foot, brace for impact, exhale and fire. Or was it front foot? Do I fire as I'm exhaling? I'm so...' He was cut off by Ramiro's comment and suddenly perked up. He smiled and bowed quickly to his instructor in acknowledgment.

Oh too bad Saki won't get to fire that rifle. "Yes sir," she said the instructor and bowed than stepped aside to watch. That rifle looked very nice. It wasn't energy rifle. For all her short life she fired only energy rifles, she wanted to try this on too. It could be seen in her face. That sad expression kittens have when you take ball of yarn from them.

She just sighed and looked ot other firing it. Rifle was somewhat big and looked heave. It had giant intimidating barrel and was bolt-action. Bolt-action! Such old system of realoading. Saki was really really sad right now.

"Hey, either of you two bozos want to try your hand?" Aendri turned to the new guys. "We're almost done here, but if you're willing to try I'd like to test you too." He turned back to the older group. "And you need to hurry up, or we'll just skip you. Don't sweat it this much."

Second intructor turned to them and asked them if they want to try. Saki quickly bowed and said. "Yes I would like to try!" She then come closer and watched others while firing. Mainly how weapon operatos, loading and how it behaves when fired. It looked that it had pretty highr recoil, but Saki thought she will handle it. She watched and waited, waiting when she will get to fire it.

She also looked at Airo. "What about you? Aren'T you going to try? It won't cost you anything, but you could gain from it. Also, when do you get a chance to try a beautiful rifle like this?" She asked him.

Airo sat silently, patiently waiting for the next part of training to commence. He felt bad for the neko, seeing her so disappointed made him feel bad, although he thought it was absurdly adorable for such a killing machine to make such a face. He smiled when they gave her a chance and when she asked him if he wanted a shot, which disappeared when Saki's attention returned to him. He replied "Ehhh no, I have science to do. I'd prefer moving on." Airo's eyes shifted and he watched the others fire away.

Aendri sighed, and turned to the new guys. "Well, since Yoshiko-Hei is apparently not as interested in firing as it seemed, you're up. What's your name, Hei?"
