Saki stood at attention and said. "Santo-hei Arai Saki sir! General infantry!" She was not sure so she used full introduction. She then bowed and moved the firing range. She took rifle making sure not to aim at anyone. She knew all safety protocols and was used to using them. She checked if rifle was loaded than safety and only then she shouldered it.

She aimed at target others were shooting at. Stood in positon she thought was best for managing rifles high recoil. Making sure rifle won't hit her into fave when fired. She aimed for about four seconds and fired. She then loaded another round aimed again and fired.

Rifel kicked quite a lot but she was not that weak and took most of the recoil. What it did with her accuracy was other thing. She put the safety on and put rifle down on table. She then looked what the results her shooting had. Her face was pretty enthusiastic, she was quite confident in her abilities after all.

Ramiro eyed the new recruits. "If you're infantry then you're right to be taking the extra practice." He then turned his attention to the others, "And we should be starting with the next section momentarily, so just hold your horses." Ramiro looked down range and waited for Saki to begin firing.

Airo bowed his head to Ramiro. "My apologies sir." He didn't mean to sound impatient, but if that is how it was received then he was sincerely apologetic. The last thing Airo wanted was to be seen as a snob for wearing green. He decided to focus on analyzing Saki.

'Eager, active personality type. Probably responds well to positive reinforcement, but may shut down with too much criticism. Her confidence is remarkable. Are all Nekovalkyrja as such?' Airo thought to himself, before moving a couple steps towards Saki. He hardly noticed whether or not she hit the target, but was impressed by her posture and stance with a unique weapon. He spoke softly to her "My vessel would have to be in rough shape if I had to use such a device in combat. But with soldiers like you I may be able to study peacefully." The Yamataian chuckled to himself. He stepped back before anyone mistook him for wanting a turn.

Saki's shot's from a standing position, no matter how well braced, went wider then those of the others. The first one hit about an inch off, and the second one went even wider of the target hitting about an inch away from the first.

Aendri snorted. "Buddy, if you think being a scientist means you ain't training with the rest of us, you're sadly mistaken. This part's optional, but that's rare." He turned to Saki. "And you. Come on. Common sense says you use what's available, like that perfect table right there. Because you disregarded it, your shots went wide, and didn't have any real grouping Now, Valencia-Heisho, I believe we're done over here, if you're ready to move on.

Scowl could be seen on Saki's face before she turned back to instructor as he started talking to her. But when she turned to him, her face was normal as always.

She knew why he was scolding her, but she wanted to shoot from standing position. During combat she won't always have time to kneel down or use a table or something as support. She will have to react and fire quickly. So few inches away wasn't that bad in her mind. It was first time she fired this kind of weapon and from standing position. With enough training it woul be better.

She should have probably fired second round using a table. She could see how big the difference is. She knew it will be big, she just wanted to know how big.

Saki just bowed to intructor and said, "Yes sir."

Saito was surprised by her own out come with the gun and she stood in the back of the group to watch the others. She raised an eyebrow when she watched Saki shoot from standing up. You got to be damn impressive or really stupid to fire a gun like that from standing up. Specially with these teachers. She watched with amusement.

Ramiro nodded at Aendri. "Alright guys, for close-range combat each of you should have a survival knife, which is effective if you have nothing else. If you have no firearms and your opponent does, the goal usually changes from incapacitating your enemy to staying alive until backup arrives, however there are extenuating circumstances. Key locations to aim for in a knife fight are their dominant arm, major arteries, or vital organs. Always hold the knife in a defensive position when you're not stabbing or slicing, avoiding injury is more important than inflicting it. If neither of you have knives or firearms, you can use a variety of holds to choke out your opponent, the goal will usually be to disable and restrain your opponent. Since your life is not in danger killing your opponent isn't necessary, simply wait for help to arrive and then leave the prisoner for your superiors to deal with." He paused for a second then turned to Aendri. "Any additions or corrections, I'll admit I'm not an expert and may have some of my information wrong."

Airo's eyes grew wide at the mention of close combat. He got through the basics okay, but this was sort of out of the frying pan, into...another frying pan. He smirked when the instructor mentioned going for an artery or vital organ. 'Ahh so those biology classes are going to useful. Unless he plans on giving a dummy crash course for the others.' he thought, pretty much missing everything until choke holds were mentioned. His eyes lit up as he pictured a deranged infantry person charging him in a counseling session. He wouldn't want to kill a patient he probably provoked, but would have to defend himself. Now that it was relevant, the Yamataian scientist was more focused, and turned to Aendri to see if there was more input.

Saito frowned at the thought of the sharp weapon slicing through her fellow classmates. Knife wounds where the messy side of medicine but she could do it. She could work a knife with her knowledge of anatomy, after all she had dealt with enough knife wounds and surgeries. She could point out the femoral and the brachial arteries to say the least. Not the most fun place to aim but they would do the job. Armpit or inner upper thigh would cause the attacker to bleed out. I personally would not want to have to deal with the mess afterward. The thought of how to repair the wounds quickly flooded her mind. She watched the teachers in hopes for a little more knowledge on combat.

"Biggest thing I feel should be added is don't be an idiot. If it's a fight you can't win, there's always the option to run. I'm not talking run away, but evasion. You'll rarely be fighting alone, so your job on the field is to survive until help can get there. If that means dodging him left and right, then that's how it rolls. And more to the point, don't be a hero. If you don't stand a chance, and there's nothing forcing you into close combat, don't go. Close combat should be a last resort for you, not a primary weapon. You're not wearing the heaviest armor out there, or the best suited to getting in close, so play to your advantages if you can." Aendri shrugged. "Honestly, close combat is common sense. Outlast the other guy, you win. Period."

"Well said," Ramiro told to Aendri. "Alright, we're going back to the classroom for skills training. Basically you will learn about basic medical, communications, emergency procedures, and security. Class will begin in ten minutes, I expect you all to be on time...GO!" Ramiro paused for a few moments to wait for the others to get ahead and then turned to Aendri, "Well, we don't have an LUT this time, so it looks like we're walking."

Close combat eh? Saki felt she did pretty good at close combat in her basic. She knew how to use her fist, legs, knives and even swords. Of course she was no master but she considere herself capable of defending herself. As to where to cut, tendons were always good choice. When other cant lift their limb they are much easier to defeat. Well easy said, harder to do. She knew that.

Instructor Ramiro then told them about their other class. It sounded quite boring but Saki knew it is important so she was okay with it. She had no idea where exactly their classroom is so she just followed her training senpais.

So there goes today's combat training... Interesting but my arm hurts Keiko thought as she walked back to the classroom, holding her the shoulder of her aching arm while rotating it a little bit.

Keiko looked around at the other trainees. Quite a collection of individuals... these people I'll be studying with. Wonder how many of them I'll get to know...

Airo shrugged and walked with the rest back towards the classroom. He looked about the others and then at the ground before him. Airo wasn't much for conversation with strangers, and certainly wasn't going to spark one. He was very interested in the medical recruit, but didn't really know what to say so he just continued on in silence.

Yoshiro thought about what the instructor had said. As he walked toward the classroom he decided that this was an important thing to learn. He decided to get to know the others so he decided to talk to the one that was closest. He walked over to Keiko and saw that she was holding her arm.

"Excuse me, are you all right?" He asked Keiko, concerned that she might have injured herself seriously. "My name is Yoshiro, and please forgive me for walking up to you so suddenly but I was a bit concerned.

Saki wanted to know little more. And only source of information around were her senpais. She looked around and thougt that medic woul be more informated about the team and others. So she walked toward yamataiian and said. "Hello senpai. I am Arai Saki. Can I bother you with question? I would like to know a little more about this installation and our instructors. I read many thinks, but you experienced it already." With that she bowed a little to show her respect.

Aendri shrugged in response to Ramiro. "Bit of exercise never hurt anyone. Not like we have to be there when the group gets there." After a moment of walking, he paused to respond to Saki. "Well, first, how would you prefer I address you? And second, specifically what do you want to know?"

Ramiro walked towards the school, walking at his normally quick pace. He gave a smile and a nod to any of the recruits he saw and passed. When he arrived at the school he went over to the holograph console and started scanning through some information. Once he found what he needed he bookmarked it and then displayed a screen at the front of the room which simply read "SKILLS TRAINING"

Saki stiffed when she was called by intructor. She kinda missed that he could hear her question. She should whisper, but she thought that if two instructors were caught in conversation they wouldn't pay attention to them. Big mistake.

Saki quickly bowes to instructor that called her out. "I apologize sir. My name is Arai Saki and I am Santo Hei. I just attemted to receive some more information about life in this installation." She ansewered him, her voice was pretty nervous. She didn'T want to make herself fool from start.

"I got that part. There's just no way I could explain the entire installation to you before we get there, so I wanted to know if you had any more specific parts you had questions about." Aendri continued walking, reasoning that she'd keep up well enough.
