"Good, you got that down at least. Hopefully, none of you ever have to perform triage, but you do need to know how. Now, if you know triage, you probably know tourniquets and pressure dressings, right? Just a quick once over is all I want out of you guys." Aendri strode back to the middle of the room, scanning the class. "Saito. You answer this one. It's your field after all."

Saito looked at Aendri when he called to her with the question. She smiled as she began to answer his question. "A tourniquet is used to control circulation during serious injuries to the extremities. It works by pressure transferring from the skin and underlying tissues to the vessels. Really, anything can work as a makeshift tourniquet." She paused before she went on. "A pressure bandage is a bandage that is used to support joints or to hold other objects in place such as ice and splints. Also they can be used in post-op to keep other bandages on the body."

Ramiro waited abnormally patiently for the entire class to get settled. He then watched Aendri go through the medical information, noting stuff that even he had forgotten since training. While all of this was going on he was preparing for the other sections of skills training that were to follow.

"Good job. That's everything you guys will be expected to know starting out, in addition to first aid, of course. Saito's already received her higher medical training, so we'll move on to communication, which should be fairly short and simple." Aendri paused, a slight smile creeping onto his face. "Now, I'm going to assume most of you are more then capable of operating a two-way radio, correct? If that's true, the only thing we need to cover is how to call intelligence back in. Now, I'll let you guys volunteer ideas on what that phrase is talking about, and how to do it."

"I believe the proper way to relay intel is the SALUTE report sir. Size, Activity, Location, Uniform, Time and date, and Equipment." Yoshiro spoke again. "You have to get the person on the other end's attention before you relay the intel." He sat back and waited for any other questions pertaining to this subject.

Saito looked nervous as she raised her hand after Yoshiro had answered how to call intelligence in. "To add on to that, Intelligence is anything that is important to the mission that fills the gaps of any holes of information we have." She lowered her head towards the desk afterwards. She didn't want to take anyone's spot light, especially when she didn't know the other part correctly.

Aendri nodded. "Good, both of you. And if there's anything you need to add on to the report, you can go right ahead and do so. Also, it's not just information you didn't have, it's changes to existing information and clarifications on possibly vague early reports. Now, for this next part, I'll need two volunteers. Whoever wants to."

Keiko lifted her hand at the request for volunteers.

She hadn't answered any of the questions so, aside from feeling a little bored, she had a feeling she better participate in the class or things might get a little difficult for her on the long run.

Saito looked up at Aendri and raised her hand up to volunteer; figuring she could learn a thing or two experiencing it first hand to experience the exercise. She was hoping that it didn't involve anything too drastic that she couldn't handle. Then again she hoped she didn't look too eager.

"Well then. Yamauchi-Hei, right? You're going to be our guard, while Michi-Hei will play our prisoner's role. What we're going to go over here is how to guard and search a prisoner. Now, first things first. What's the one thing the guard should never do around an unsecured prisoner?" Aendri lifted an eyebrow, looking around his small group. "Anyone, feel free to answer, even our new 'prisoner'."

"I should never take my eyes off from the prisoner, nor should I lower my guard. If I do so our positions might be reversed or I might lose my life for my carelessness" Keiko answered making a point of keeping her eyes on Michi.

"Exactly. Unless you have the prisoner secured in such a way they cannot reach their restraints, you should never take your eyes off of them. The very objects you use to restrain them can be used as weapons against you. Hand cuffs can be used to strangle you, chains as lashes. Thus, precautions like cuffing them behind their backs, and only using chains when you can restrain all of their limbs, should be taken." Aendri walked over to the table, and grabbed a couple zip-ties, tossing them back. "Now, show me how you would restrain a prisoner with just those."

"Shouldn't there be any backup, sir? I mean if there is an extra man guarding the prisoner, the prisoner would be less likely to attack the guard right?" He asked as he waited for the demo to begin. "I mean that is what I would do to be sure that I could get the prisoner back to base for interrogation or whatever.

"Understood" Keiko said while catching the zip-ties.

'Shouldn't be too hard. I'll tie her hands behind her back with the zip-ties one inside the other. Keiko thought as she approached her "prisoner" in order to proceed with the restraining.

Saito allowed the demo to take course. She pondered if at any time she would be allowed to try and get loose from her new restraints. That started her thinking of different ways on how to get out of the restraints as they were put onto her.

“If my hands are tied back behind my back than I can get low and move them under my feet and bring it to the front of me…I could work from there.”

With the zipties in place on Saito's hands, Aendri nodded. "Yes, whenever possible, work with backup. However, since having back-up doesn't alter HOW you do things much, Just the simplicity of it, I want you guys to learn in a one on one situation. If we have the time when we're done with everything else here, I'll walk you guys through a little bit of how to behave when you are the prisoner as well. Hopefully it will never come up, but it's best to be prepared if we can."

He then arched his eyebrow at the fact that activity had stopped in his examples. "Is that it? No leg restraints or anything? And just a double loop on her wrists?" Aendri shook his head. "Remember what I said. You can only turn your back when the prisoner is as completely secure as you can make them, and watching someone for hours on end is harder then you might think. Remember, they just have to outlast you a little bit to have time to themselves."

Ramiro continued to watch, wanting to correct all the mistakes the recruits were making. However, he knew it was Aendri's time to teach and he should appreciate the fact that he doesn't have to teach it himself. He slouched in his chair and kicked his legs into a more comfortable position as he continued to watch the demo.

A small shuttle landed at the landing pad down the road from the academy. A figure stepped out and set down his bags. Meanwhile the driver of an LUT got out of his vehicle and walked over. "Maeda Toshiaki, Santô Hei? Recent transfer from Fort Victory? Come with me." The driver picked up the Toshiaki's bags and tossed them into the back before climbing into the driver's seat, waiting for Toshiaki, and driving off.

Toshiaki respectfully did a short bow to his driver and nodded his head in response to his query. Walking to the vehicle, Toshiaki began feeling the higher gravity of this world. This would take some adjustment but could only help his running skills in over the long term. Getting in the vehicle, Toshiaki decided to review some of his notes from his training at Fort Victory. He had never been thrilled with that place's prison-like aesthetic even if he understood the need for security. This was a new place with different people to meet and study.

Saki was watching other adn wondered how she would do it. First thing she would do she would probalmy make her partner lie on the ground az imaginary gunpoint. She would make her crossher legs and put her hands on her hand. Then she would tie her hands in the back. And finally she would let her lie. It wouldn't be comfotable but getting up with tied hands is not really that fast.
