Not good enough...

Keiko became just a little nervous at her failure to secure the prisoner in a satisfactory manner.

Very well then... I'll try something new

Taking a few more zip-ties Keiko approached her "prisoner" once again. She tried to make her sit on the floor to tie her legs together, secure her hands under her knees and then tie each hand to the opposite leg.

It was something she just came up with but it seemed good enough on her head.

Aendri cocked an eyebrow. Though it had bits and pieces of reasonable methods in it, the restraints weren't done in anything like a coherent manner. "I guess that would work, but it still isn't quite good enough." Snagging a couple of the ties himself, Aendri stepped up in front of the class, separating the two. He quickly cut through the restraints on Michi, and motioned for her to stand up. "Now, on thing to remember, is that you want to secure body parts behind the prisoner's back as much as possible." To go along with this, he quickly secured Michi's hands behind her back, using a set of three ties which closely resembled handcuffs. "There's a reason the police have been using this method for years, so don't doubt that it's useful. However, for our purposes, it's not enough."

He paused, to look at everyone in the class. "First off, the prisoner is still mobile. Even though she's restrained from using her hands, she can still run, and depending on how good her balance is, kick. In other words, she can still fight back and escape. Second, if she's flexible enough, she can pass her arms under her feet, bringing the restraints in front of her, where she can see what she's doing and work out of the restraints much more easily. Now, there are a couple of things to do from there, but the simplest, and most effective, is to put the feet together with the hands." Without letting her know what he was doing, Aendri put a hand on Michi's shoulder, and a foot in front of her leg, and flipped her down on her face, with a quiet, "Excuse me."

"Just join the feet together similarly to the hands, then add more ties to join the hand restraints to the restraints on the feet. This way, all four of her limbs are trapped behind her, and she can't move much at all. Now, before I let her go, Saito-Hei, I want you to try your best to escape those restraints. The rest of you, help her out. Give her ideas, think of possible weaknesses in this method." That said, he stepped back into the class, to let them work this one out.

~~~~~~
The LUT pulled into the center of the Fort Ready training area, and the driver put it in park. "Go ahead and jump out, your instructors should be in that building over there. You need to talk to them to figure out what you need to do from here. You're looking for Valencia-Heisho or Shasos'Shol-Hei."
"Thank you sir." replied Toshiaki as he bowed once more and jogged towards the building the driver had pointed out. It wasn't a long run, but the gravity made it much more difficult than it should have been. Toshiaki arrived at the building and walked up to the nearest classroom just in time to see a very efficient restraining of someone in the classroom.
Either these students are very fast learners or that man doing the take down is an instructor, thought Toshiaki.
Seeing the instructor move towards the back of the class, Toshiaki decided this would be as good as any time to present himself. Not wanting to disturb the people in the class he entered as quietly as possible and moved to the back towards the man who had performed the take-down.
"Excuse me, I am Santo Hei Maeda Toshiaki, I've just transferred from Fort Victory and I am looking for Valencia-Heisho or Shasos'Shol-Hei. Would you happen to know where they are?"
Saito allowed Aendri to flip her over from her standing postion and allowed him to continue to tie her up. As soon as he mentioned her getting out of the new postion of her hands tied to her feet behind her back. She struggled to move her hands and feet to see how much room she had to move and adjust.
Aendri looked over his shoulder at the newbie, and grunted. "Another one? I'm Shasos'Shol, but I'm busy. Valencia is over there." That said he cocked a tumb over his shoulder at the other officer. "He'll get you sorted out while I finish up here."
"Many thanks," Toshiaki said as he bowed and went over to the man Aendri had pointed out.
Well luck is smiling on me so far, let's see how long it lasts Toshiaki thought to himself.
Bowing to his new instructor, Toshiaki opened by saying "I am Santo Hei Maeda Toshiaki, recently transferred from Fort Victory. I've been assigned to your class and await your instructions."
Ramiro grunted as the newbie walked up. "Command needs to stop sending me transfers, there's so many of you guys..." He got up and motioned for Toshiaki to follow. He led him outside and pointed to one side of the courtyard. "There's your barracks. Go inside, up the stairs to the second floor. Hang a left and your room is at the end of the hallway. Third floor is off limits, the entire first floor is an open lobby area, although you won't be spending much time there. Drop your stuff in a locker, make it look uniform and clean as you do so, and then return to class. I'll be inside." With that Ramiro turned around and returned to his seat.
"Thank you." Toshiaki said. He then immediately ran towards the barracks.
Best to get training right off the bat...even if this gravity is a nightmare.
Besides Toshiaki wanted to get back to the class before he missed much.
While running Toshiaki thought what interesting things might be on the third floor of the barracks. Clearly this wasn't something he would check out right away, after all he had just joined the Star Army, it wouldn't do to get kicked out so quickly. Depending upon how good the security was he might even have to forgo satisfying his curiosity. In the final analysis, he'd learn a lot more interesting things inside the Star Army than he could by checking out one floor of a building.
Reaching his room, Toshiaki was breathing heavily and knew he needed a short break. He examined his locker and began placing his possessions in it as orderly as he could. He then pulled up a seat and sat for a minute.
Gravity, you are officially my number one enemy.
With his breathing getting lighter and his heart rate gradually falling, Toshiaki decided to go back to the class at a somewhat more leisurely jog.
Yume hopped a little off the shuttle, and swayed as the difference in gravity made it's known. She swayed on her feet her hands out, feeling for her balance. She nodded to herself as she concluded quick adjustments, and grabbed her her bag. Instead of tossing it over her shoulder like she might have done on a more standard gravity planet, she carefully draped it over her shoulder into position. Then she was off, her steps purposeful and perhaps with a notable grace. She zeroed on a waiting LUT.
"Fort Ready?" she asked. The driver nodded and it only took the time for her to enter the vehicle for them to be off. She was trying to be sedate and professional, but her ears twitched at every sound, her eyes followed motion after motion, and she felt tense excitement. As the complex came into view a broad smile even broke across her face.
Just as Ramiro sat back down his comm beeped. He quick checked it and let out a silent groan as he got up and left again. "I swear, if they send me one more new guy, I'm gonna lose it!" Ramiro jogged across the courtyard and parade field and arrived at the front gates just as an LUT pulled up. "I'll take it from here," he told one of the guards and then looked at the new recruit in the LUT. "Get your stuff and let's go." He paused to wait for Yume before walking back towards the school. "We'll walk and talk. Welcome to Fort Ready, your new home, blah blah blah, make sure to pay attention, semantics, required speech bull shit. Basically, don't do anything stupid, listen to me, I'm Nito Heshio Valencia Ramiro Trinidad, just Valencia Heisho works, never address me by my given name or you'll be injured. The other instructor is in the school giving a presentation about prisoners." He stepped off the grass into the courtyard and pointed around as he mentioned things. "That's the barracks, go inside, up the stairs, to the right, and drop your stuff in the far room neatly. Once you're done go to that building where instruction is being given. I'll be waiting there, and don't fall behind, it's already unorthodox to allow recruits in this late, don't be the idiot to screw it up and have it banned all together." With that, Ramiro went back to his seat.
Yume's face reflected her loss of excitement at the return of gruff handling. She'd half expected things to become more professional as she was incorporated into the established army. Sure there was enough irreverence, that was expected, just not when there was advanced training and special circumstances involved. She would have been disappointed but just as accepting of being held on standby till the next class came through.
She fell back to her own ingrained etiquette and professionalism. Her expression settled blank, and when she spoke her voice was clear and steady. She was quicker to settle her bag on her shoulder, the LUT there to keep her steady, not that she needed it. Her ears were perked making sure she didn't miss any instruction.
"Santo Hei Siashuu Yume" she stopped to bow her head for the introduction. She held her bag in both hands and jogged off to the barracks when it was clear his own departure meant she was dismissed to follow his instruction.
Her bag was simply stowed under an empty bunk, before she again took to jogging to reach the class already in progress. When she entered the room she slipped in quietly and stood to the side of the door, waiting to be addressed. She didn't want her late arrival to be viewed as anything but professional.
Saki was thinking about ways to get from that. She looked at her new classmater chained up in zip-ties, but she couldn't figure out anything.
"Well if I take attributes of plasticuffs it is posible to rip them but you would need great physical strength. Dislocating her thumb would be useless too I think. So she would need a tool. Knife preferably. Some nekovalkyrja units could break free by usin externatal hemosynthesis by creating small blade from their blood." she Said and looked again. "So as a person who tied her, I would check her for anything bladed she could have hidden somewhere." she completed her monologue finally. Hoping it wouldn't sound that stupid.
"Well, you covered that pretty well. Honestly, there's not much you can do to get out of this. Your best bet, assuming the captor searched you properly, would be to try and move yourself to as jagged an edge as you can find, though odds are you'll cut yourself. If you're a neko, that's fine; you'll heal up pretty fast. If you're a Yamataian, be careful. Even though you heal fast, you can still bleed out much easier then a 29, so try to avoid the major arteries as best you can." He paused, grabbing his sword again, and cutting Saito loose before helping her up.
"As for using the external hemosynth, don't count on it. Only an older model will have that capacity, and those models are almost completely phased out. I know the Royal family has some, but that's mostly it. We don't have the time to go over concealing weapons, so learn that on your own if you want to, or just work with what we can teach you." He turned to look at the door. "You." And he pointed at Toshiaki. "What took you so long? Don't answer that, find a seat so we can get back to work. You." And he pointed at Yume. "I'm going to assume you're the reason my colleague had to run out again, so you're not too late. Find a seat as well." That said, he went over to Ramiro, and leaned down to talk to him.
"You ready for your part? I'm just about done here."
Yume stepped forward as she was addressed. Cool and calm, she bowed to the instructors first, before facing the class " I am Santo Hei Siashuu Yume" She moved sharply finding an unoccupied seat and seating herself. She perked her ears forward toward the front and waited for the next lesson to begin.
Ramiro contemplated acting upset against the outburst-like introduction, but decided he was just too damn lazy. "Alright, so now you guys know the basics of how to be a good soldier. With what you already know it is possible to accomplish just about any ground mission possible, depending on how good you are. However, even though you can accomplish most missions as is, there are things you can use to help enhance your performance. Certain types of equipment are used for certain types of situations and mastering the use of these types of equipment will help you to excel above other soldiers. Who can tell me what the an AMES, AFS, and engineering suit is, what each is specifically used for, and where you would locate one on most ships?"
Well time to establish myself as something other than dead weight.
"The AMES and and the AFS are suits designed for hostile environments. The AMES is mainly used by army and ground troops while the AFS is primarily used by pilots. The engineering suit is primarily for on ship usage to protect the wearer in the event of having to repair the vessel or systems failure."
"AMES would Army Multi-species Envirometnal Suit right? It is standart equipment for any soldier of Star Army. It is used for hazardous enviroments as space or places with high radiotion or chemical danger." Said Saki and looked Ramiro. To tell the true she was not sure what the other two suit were exactly so she wanted to tell at least one thing she knew about.
"The AFS or Aerospace Flight suit is a suit worn by pilots of fightercraft and shuttles. It is made to protect the pilot from the rigors of flying in space. AMES or the Army Multi-species Environment suit is used to protect the wearer from hazardous environments such as radiation zones and biochemical agents. The engineering suit is used for people who are working on the ships and shuttles, more likely while they are out in space and have taken damage that needs to be repaired right away." Yoshiro said after waiting for the others that were speaking to finish.
"As for location, the AFS would be located near the fighters, in a locker room. The AMES would probably be located in an escape pod or shuttles in case you need to make a hasty exit or need to deploy troops on a hostile planet and the engineering suits would probably be whereever the damage control parties are likely to go in case of damage to the ship, if they aren't wearing them already."
"All correct!" Ramiro shouted. "The AMES are mainly used by ground troops, as was stated, but they are also used by crew members on starships, such as starship operators, medics, or officer positions. They are located in most areas of the ship, such as the bridge, near most damage control stations, ward rooms, etc. AFS are only used by combat fighter pilots, and will be located in a locker room near the landing bay, just as you guys stated. Engineering suits are, obviously, used by engineers, and can be found around most engineering areas." Ramiro started to speak again but stopped, realizing that he forgot what the next section was. He pulled up his sleeve and glanced at a note written on his arm before continuing. "Who knows what the two common types of power armor are?"
"Mindy and Daisy sir?" Saki sad. Her voice sounded a little nervous. It could be heard from it that she doubted her answer. But others armour she knew weren't really common. These two were. At least she thought so.
