RP: The Wayward Collection (Ep. 1.2)

Ana first murmured softly to Embel, "I usually just drink water. It's all I was allowed." She then blinked, looking to Shadow as he started to hand her his toolbox kit, but she wasn't quite sure why. Since the tools were made for him, she shook her head and said softly, "You may need them, still." She knew she only had her multi-tool, but that was only because she had kept it when she was taken from her former master. She studied him for a few moments, though, even as the communicators were passed out to the others. When Quinn distracted her with the datapad, she smiled up at him shyly in thanks and started to read up on them. Her nose crinkled some as she read, not quite sure what some of the words were, but made note to re-read the information and ask about it later. Now wasn't the time for too many questions. She put her communicator into a pocket for the time being, figuring she could tinker with it whenever she had the free time.

Hugar took a seat next to Tanja taking the KS card and putting it in his bag. He took a breath and finished off his Milk before looking at the copper pocket watches and taking it. He studies it quietly while the others talk and then smirks a bit. "This is pretty good." He puts it in his shirt pocket and takes a breath before ordering another Milk. He looked towards the rest of the crew, studying each of them now, wondering exactly what each one was thinking. The former slave couldn't help but smile to himself, it looked like he found a new family to take part in... this was so far a great investment.

"So when we're off ship on a mission, wearing the ear piece is going to be required, even if you have another communicator, the crew will be using these for work." She took a moment to finish her drink now and smiled. "And speaking of work, we need to decide what our next job is going to be." She brought up a screen on her PHC and fiddled around with it a moment. "We've got some different jobs we could take....they're all clients in Yamatai space. So...salvaging a research ship in a nebula...taking a corporate agent to some distant world...and delivery of an antique. Which one do you guys want to do?"

Hugar looked at each one for a moment before speaking up. "Is there any information on the corporate agent?" He looks over her shoulder eying the information quietly.

Quinn considered the three options Tanja gave them and after a long moment of thinking he spoke up as well. "Is there further information on any of them really?" He clarified his point after a moment. "I'm mostly curious about where everything is." If they were close enough Quinn figured they could at least take a combination of two of the three pretty easily.

Tanja looked for at Hugar "The agent is of the Qel'noran race, that's about all I really know other than his name and appearance. That mission will have us occupied a few days, he wants us to stick around if we take him there. As for the rest, the ship to salvage is in the Chen Nebula, and the delivery is from Kennewes to Kyoto." She flicked through the information rather quickly though it seemed she had most of it memorized "Either way before then we'll probably need to pick up a few things."

"Isn't Kennewes in Nep space?" Quinn asked after a long minute. "Either way I have a feeling we're going to get shot at no matter which one we pick, so I'm going to put my word in for the salvage or the delivery job." And hope to any higher power willing to listen that no one ended up shot, stabbed, or otherwise on the way there and back. As much as he liked his job, he was feeling lazy as of late.

Hugar raises an eyebrow at Quinn then looks at Tanja. "I think the Agent would be more profitable, and while it might not be safer, it'll be better for experience than another salvage job." He says idly, moving his fingers to tap the table a bit. "After all, we want the team to have as much experience in different things as possible so we can be hired for different things over time."

Ana remained quiet throughout the whole conversation. She had no idea where anything was and now she was finding out that things were even more dangerous than what she went through? Not only that, but the drink she had been given was starting to make her feel a little light headed, and she had only gone through about half the glass. Looking around, she saw the signs to the bathrooms and gets up quietly, her intent to go there and let the others decide the next course of action. She would just go along, since she had nowhere else to go.

Quinn's head twisted to track Analiese's progress off to the bathrooms and then he turned his attention back to Hugar. After a long moment of more consideration, and some quick looking up of locations on his datapad he shrugged and glanced at the rest of the, so far, very silent table. "Point taken." He agreed finally and glanced to Tanja. "You never did say where exactly the Agent wanted to go though." Nor had she given a rough estimate of how much each job was offering so there wasn't much more than personal preference and travel distances for him to go off of as far as a firm decision went.

Tanja looked between the two men discussing but then her eyes followed Analiese to make sure she was okay. "Kennewes is Nepleslian space, but the contract if here in Yamatai space. As for pay, it's all based on our performance. They're all paying over two thousand KS though. So at least like 300KS per person. But I'd like us not to pick our jobs based on money. We're not that good yet." She drummed her fingers on the table and thought a moment. "The world is Zath-Nianach, it doesn't seem to be in known space, he's going to lead us there."

Restrooms

Analiese had made it into the restrooms, though her heart was racing. She thought she had seen Snake out there, but she shook her head. "No...not possible," she whispered to herself. Veronica had assured her that the crew had departed before them towards another space station. At least that's what was reported.

Ana had two options now: stay in the restroom and hope one of the others came to look for her or be brave and walk right back out there and just hope that, if it was Snake, he hadn't seen her going in and won't see her when she was ready to go back out.

Either way, she knew that, even if he had seen her, she doubted he'd have recognized her, since she is clean and her hair is back in a braid. She used the facilities for their purpose as she tried to make up her mind.

Hugar watched as Analiese left, he frowned a bit... He idly wondered if someone so skittish and afraid would do well out in space, and on the type of missions they'd be going on.. He however turns his attention back towards Tanja as he listened about price and then nodded. "I agree with that, we're not as well known or experienced enough to be able to pick and choose our missions based on prices." He listened to her again and then nods a bit. "Alright so Zath-Nianach... Can't say I've heard of it... but hrm...What do you think about this mission Tanja?"

Quinn however was usually able to pick and choose how much, and with what, he was paid, so their return answers to his questions rubbed him the wrong way just a little bit. He did his best not to show it though, giving a deceptively easy shrug. "I was just wondering is all." He turned his attention to Tanja when Hugar asked his question, and then he glanced to the others who were seated around the table, still silent.

Embel listens to the conversation interested but didn't mind what they did, as long as it was fun, seeing that Analiese went to the restroom she got up and excused herself making her way to the restroom, inside the restroom Embel looked around "Analiese are you okay, I just want to make sure you didn't drink too much."

Ana jumped a little as she heard Embel behind her. She was washing her hands and didn't expect anyone to have followed her, though she was rather glad someone from the group did. She smiled sheepishly as she turned around and said softly, "I'm not sure. I don't think I even finished the glass. It's good, but I feel kind of...funny?"

She didn't say anything about what she thought she may have seen outside, not wanting to worry anyone without due cause. Instead, she puts a hand to her head, for the effects of whatever it was she had been drinking were taking their toll. She had never had anything with alcohol, so she didn't know what to expect.

Tanja sat up in her chair and then sighed. "Well the antique delivery seems a little suspicious, they could just ship that on a cargo ship and would have no problem, so I can only imagine they have a reason for hiring out to get it shipped. As for the escort, if he wants us to stick around the planet probably has some hostile life on it, nothing too bad probably, but wild animals can be dangerous if you're careless." She then paused looking at the salvage mission a slight bit irritated. "Nebulae are hot spots for pirates and slavers since it's a natural sensor dampener."

Embel looked at the girl in front of her "you saw, you like you have seen a ghost darling" she outstretched a hand to the girl "I will look after you if you will let me."

Restrooms

Ana studied Embel and could tell, just like with Quinn and Veronica, that she would be worth trusting. With a tentative smile, she put her own hand in the other one's and nodded, "Okay. Thank you." She took in a steadying breath and said softly, "I thought I saw someone...but it's not all that likely."

Restrooms

Embel smiled "want to tell me about it, if I can I want to protect you easier, if it is this person, I wanna know who they are, so I can protect you" she smiled and she gripped the girl's hand slightly tight in a way to to say that Embel will always look out for her. She looked around "should we go back to the others?"
