"Oh shit! Where are my manners!?" Tom said out loud. Obviously, the newcomers on the ship would enjoy a welcome, and with the Captain out of commission so to speak, THAT responsibility fell on TECHNICAL SPECIALIST TOM FREEMAN.
The Geshrin burst out of the bridge, passing several of the visitors and crew on the ship, acrobatically weaving through them as necessary, passing a "hello!" here and there on the way to grabbing his audio player.
After grabbing that and a couple music disks, he slid back to the bridge, popped in a light country album from Ralt, which sounded like a mix of folk/bluegrass and country and played it.
This was going to be freakin' AWESOME.
Flipping on the intercom and keeping the music low so it only accomodated his voice, the former actor slipped into a thick country accent as he greeted the crew.
"Welcome, ya'll newcomers t' our humble aboad, t' YSS Mikomi. We'z a tight group 'round these here parts, been through some action. I 'ere ya'lls're big ship people, but I 'tink you'll find us t' be more than enough hospitable t' make up for our tadpole size. If ya'lls be needin' some help orientin' yerself to this here ship, feel free t' ask any o' t' crew, includin' yours truely, Tom "Tap Happy" Freeman. Ya'lls be sure t' enjoy yourselves now!"
With a click, Tom turned off the PA system and laughed. That was TOTALLY worth risking reprimand or demotion. He'd have this memory for the rest of his life...
