OOC Eucharis Discussion

I just realized that the high levels of carbon dioxide is going to be hard on Armundo, seeing as he is human.

Am I right to assume that having the large cargo bay doors open would allow large amounts of carbon dioxide gas into the ship ? or does the Eucharis have some kind of mega air purifier that can transform all that gas into oxygen..it says robust..but that's a lot of gas moving in at a constant rate.

After a bit of research :

The result of carbon dioxide poisoning is called Hypercapnia. Normally, the human body contains forty millimeters of carbon dioxide. If you have forty-five millimeters of carbon dioxide in the blood then Hypercapnia starts to occur. Armundo was standing in the cargo bay for...five minutes ?

My point being that Armundo may need some help here, am I right ?

According to The Other Wiki:

On earth, CO2 is 0.039% of the atmosphere.

1% (10,000 ppm) will make some people feel drowsy.

Concentrations of 7% to 10% cause dizziness, headache, visual and hearing dysfunction, and unconsciousness within a few minutes to an hour.

I could not find a percentage listed on the Shara system wiki section Gartaga.

As far as the Eucharis goes, there's an air-containment forcefield available for the main ramp that could be used to keep the local air out.

The term Ira used was high, I guess you could assume that would mean higher then 0.039 % .It could be three percent or fifty percent.

In any case, seeing as prolonged exposure to high levels of CO2 could cause permanent damage to the nervous system, it may be better if he remains on the ship. He can hardly attend a formal lunch in a hazard suit or wearing a rebreather.

Oh and while i'm here I might as well ask about cabin arrangements. Do I choose where he bunks or is that the Taisa's call ?

Probably best to work it out with your potential roommate or have the XO assign you.

Okay this is being over thought to the max.

I will list the percentage but it is at about 0.067%

I am sure that the ship has a re-breather mask on-board the ship

3 new chibis added for our newest crew members!

After a month of RP at Shara, I'm starting to itch for some action! So let's try to wrap things up on the surface.

Armundo has a chibi :D !!

He can't catch a break though. He had to set the food down and take it up again a few minutes later while everyone was eating. He's being run ragged today ! Xp

We've got to save the butts of our new Gartagen pals!

I'm glad you like the chibi. I am trying to keep the whole crew pictured. :)

On the Road

Hey folks, just wanted to let you know that I will be on the road for most of today and tomorrow. I'll have internet at the hotel, and once we arrive at my mom's.

Nashoba.

The crew members that didn't get on board yet have until I get come from work tomorrow afternoon to get on board. If not, the plot is going to keep moving and they might get left on Gartaga!

Gabriel, you might like to look at your post again. How did Ramiro overhear a conversation in Engineering from the Bridge and then comment on it, merely by spinning around in his chair?
