DeepBlu3, welcome to the plot. There's only a few pages to read up on if you'd like, but we've just made planetfall in our
Power Armors.
And so that everyone understands the holdup, this is what's happening in my life right now.
I just finished with a Medication Pass Practicum on Friday, and on Monday and Tuesday, I'll be going to the Hospital as part of the Clinical Work I have to do as part of the class, but will get home at around 4PM, West Coast. Dirt tired of course. Next, there's a Pharmacology final on the upcoming Friday. They tend to keep punching us week after week like that, and then kicking us while they're down. Naturally, I'm going to be studying my ass off for the upcoming Pharm Final. All of this, has resulted in this new plot that you've all found yourselves in bogging down very quickly, and for that, I'm very sorry everyone.
Now, regardless of that, since I now finally worked hard enough that I have a head start and some breathing room, I can post more frequently. I hope. The post I'm going to put up next will put us right into the action - I think you guys have had enough of setting elements and scenery porn, right?
Now, moving onto another topic.
Don't go making up entire asides and spring enemies out of nowhere if you're feeling the plot isn't hopping into the action. I know this has been a lot slower than you've all wanted, but doing that causes even more problems in the long run, believe it or not. Instead, just tell me what you all think is wrong, what the problems are or what you'd prefer, and I'll listen. Putting enemies up for your characters to fight is my job. I'm the Game Master after all. I don't know if you guys are familiar with table top games like Dungeons and Dragons, but a Game Master is that guy who's reading or speaking out loud what everyone's character in the game is seeing, describing the setting elements to the players and controlling the mobs that are fighting the players. Again, that's me. Naturally, there's flex to this. Making up pieces of cover and such is ok if I haven't given enough to work with, so long as its within reason, but don't make up enemies and fights without my involvement. One of the big reasons is inconsistency with canon. The GM has to know all about the mobs, as well as the players to make sure everything is correct. Get something wrong, and it could look embarrassing for a character IC at the least, and utterly bad at the worst.
Right now, I am going to ignore Arcturis' post, as besides what I just mentioned, it desynchronized the player group. Assume that Ed came along and is finishing up reentering with the rest of the squad, everyone.
