She closed the channel and opened an open personal channel up to Elina. "Again please come up to the Bridge to speak to me in person. I have a job fo you."

Elina was puzzled by the summons from the Captain. She set several CD's to play through and repeat till she got back. She left her place of business and made her way up to the bridge. She was definitely out of place as she entered the bridge. Only one in civilian attire. Her rainbow hair loose and held back by flower berets to keep the mass of hair out of her face.

"You wanted to see me, Chusa?" Elina announced her presence on the bridge. Her soft voice sounding out over the chirps and beeps and clicking of relays.

Jei silently did his work, that the ship already seemed to be doing, and quietly listened to the ships crew go about their business. His calm breaths complemented his smooth motions across the console. He noticed the Neko that had sung with him at the party, to which he smiled as she walked in. He turned his head back to the console and gave a slightly audible sigh of neutrality as he noticed everything was green as he relaxed back into the chair.

'Once more unto the breech eh?' was the only thing that rang though his mind.

Sally paused to listen to Seako's voice over the speakers, tapping a claw nervously on her left mandible; apparently a habit of hers. Her sister simply snorted, having found an access panel on one of the Hayabusa's main cannons, which she promptly flipped open, examining the interior with a small flashlight. Despite the minuscule chance of Yui finding a fault with the fighter, let alone one she could properly identify, the guardian felt compelled to make sure their craft was safe.

Shaking off her excitement, Sally deposited the two canisters of food into the cockpit and hopped back down to the floor, squabbling briefly with Yui in an effort to stop her sister from prying open every nook and cranny on the fighter craft. Once she had Yui under control, she began dragging her sister over in the direction of Shanota and the other pilots, determined to do some socialising before they took flight.

"You should at least learn their names, Yui!", Sally squeaked with naive eagerness as the two approached Shanota and Downer, waving at the two, while her sister looked anything but sociable.

Chieko checked the files as soon as they came available. "Mushi!" she smiled before attempting to check her excitement. These were not the type of 'bugs' she had been studying recently; but they were of unusually large size and intelligent enough to be part of the crew. The young woman bowed, seeing that the Captain had shifted her attention again, and made her way from the bridge.

Corridors

It had been a while since her time as an amateur entomologist. She even giggled when the memory of her mother screaming upon finding her specimens in the freezer. How old was she back then? Nine, ten years old? She even pictured the small arthropods stuck with pins to some foam board - the jungle humidity of Mei condensing into curling clouds upon contact with the sub-zero air. Each one had a label noting species, sex, function if applicable, size, and weight at capture, all of which had a light layer of frost over them.

She recalled the Captain's request to avoid poking and prodding too much understanding that it was a sensible thing to avoid. However, the biologist could not avoid picturing poking a small pin into one of them, causing her to burst out laughing in the corridor. The looks were instant; but embarrassment wasn't Chieko's way.

"Sorry, listening to a comedy broadcast," she smiled, "He's being particularly naughty..."

Seako nodded to the Saint operative. Before speaking she turned on a privacy screen around the command station. "Thank you for coming up... We have two new personnel aboard. One is an ambassador the other is her personnel guard. I would like you to tactfully get to know them. You will not do anything more then gather information, and report to me on it. She smiled sternly. "Any Questions?"

Shanota sat in the cockpit of her Hayabusa silent fuming to herself about "Honorary Pilots" they we're going to be sortieing with. The nerve to just start defacing a perfect like the Hayabusa was unthinkable to her. She could barely focus on her getting everyone else ready for a mission. A laundry list of swear words swirled through her head as Downer nudged her to get her attention.

Oh for fuc-

"Heeeeeyyyy!" Shanota said with an exaggerated smile as she noticed the two I'ee toddle over to her Hayabusa. She hopped out of the cockpit and down to the deck to meet the two. "What can I do for you guys?"

Elina spoke softly with her back to the crew so they couldn't read her lips. "I'll need full access to everywhere on the ship. Chusa. As of right now as a civilian, I've very little access anywhere." While privacy field was active, she acted like she was being chastised for something.

Shaking her head Seako frowned, "I'll give you access to areas the guests have. Past that you have to keep up appearances of a civilian unless you are going to enlist?" She paused giving Elina a chance. She had a lot on her plate and she really hoped to get some sort of control over the agent.

"I've too many puppet masters as is," Elina gave a soft laugh. "That will be fine, Chusa. At least enough access to the Megami to keep track of their movements? Maybe a terabyte or two?"

Blissfully unaware of any subtle sarcasm or exaggeration from Shanota, Sally squeaked an eager greeting, her LED mask lighting up with a happy smile.
"Hello, Shanota! I know we have met already, but I would really like to properly introduce myself and my sister to your fellow pilots!", she declared, dragging her reluctant sister up to meet with Downer and Shanota.
"...Hello.", Yui managed, her antennae twitching nervously. "I am Yui." The bodyguard cast a subtle look back at her sister, who nodded her head eagerly, hopping from one foot to the other with excitement. Even with Yui's marginally more professional attitude, she and her sister both looked and sounded like school children on an excursion; one excited and amiable, the other withdrawn and shy.

Sally waved up to Downer, squeaking at her before greeting her in turn. "Hello! My name is Sally!", she said, her artificial voice at a slightly higher pitch than Yui's. "I'm really looking forward to flying with you both!"

Chieko finally exited the corridor system while visions of carrying an extremely large bug net danced through her mind. Even her face was stretched into some maniacal grin of excitement as she looked about the hangar bay, searching for the arthropods of unusual size. The list of things she wanted to know of them spun in her head until she finally laid eyes on her prize.

"Pleasure to met you, Yui." Shanota said, trying to tone down the exaggeration in her voice. She waved to Downer to join them before introducing them. "Downer, this is Ambassador Yui," she waved a hand to the giddy of the pair before waving it over to the more serious one. " and this is her bodyguard Yui, they're our honorary pilots for right now so act professional."

Downer simply waved to the both of them. "They're so cute!" screamed Hot-cha from the other Hayabusa.

Shanota sighed before waving a hand off in rest of her wingmates' general direction. "And that you just heard is 'Hot-cha' who flies number two on wing with 'Kōmon.' Don't be afraid of them though, they're just a little weird is al-"

"There's a scientist in the shuttle bay." Downer cut in, pointing over to the new arrival with green paneled uniform and discomforting grin.

"It's nice to meet you, Downer!", Sally squeaked happily, while Yui nodded her head and mumbled an ingenuous agreement. The call from Hot-cha seemed to confuse both Yui and Sally, the latter of whom tapped a claw on her left mandible. "We are cute, she says?", she asked Shanota after having heard her introduce Hot-cha.

While Sally continued to muse on the ramifications of being considered cute, Yui twitched her head to look behind her at Chieko, tilting her head slightly to one side before turning to face the approaching scientist. After a moment, Sally too seemed to notice the movement in her peripheral vision, turning around with an excited squeak and practically skipping to meet with the scientist.

"Hello!", Sally began her usual high-pitched and upbeat introduction. "My name is Sally!"

"I'll have Jayne set you up a small section for your work. But you will not attempt to surpass your given rights, or I will have you locked out again."Seako spoke firmly, but not harshly. "No if unless you have anything else I need to get this ship and her escort moving" She smiled politely giving Elina a chance to speak up.

"No problem, Cyas around Chusa." Elina took off from the bridge. She headed back to her station on the lower decks and began typing in commands. Bringing up video and sound of the I'ee. Begin to record their movements and conversations. She worked on getting as much as their native language as possible to begin a translation program of their native languages.

The proper soldier reaction would have been care in seeing such a strange life form approaching; but Chieko's automatic response was to grab her science scanner and begin using it on Sally as she approached.

"Koisumi-Joto Hei, biologist and a team lead in the Science Department," she replied, paying sightly more attention to her scanner before looking up. "How do you manage to get so big?" the scientist asked, "Typically exoskeletons start becoming a major energy burden at a tenth your size."

"It's nice to meet you, um...", Sally trailed off, peering curiously at the scanner as it was swept over her body. Yui, standing a short distance behind her, was stiff and tense, but did not otherwise voice suspicion.

The I'ee seemed confused by Chieko's question, tapping a claw on her left mandible and tilting her head to one side. "How do I get so big?", she asked. "Um... I dunno. I thought I was rather small compared to most of your people." The ambassador seemed to have misunderstood the question.
From the scanner, the biologist could detect what appeared to be some form of 'endoskeleton' in the I'ees' bodies. It seemed to take the form of firm, cartilaginous 'shells' which encapsulated the more delicate organs of their bodies. The problem of energy consumption was left unanswered, however, though there was a high sugar content in Sally's body.

Watching the Civilian nusentice leaving the Bridge, Seako frowned a hair. She was hoping the new mission for the SAINT officer would keep her out of trouble. Sighing She turned back to the bridge and shut down the privacy fields. "Ok crew please bring us out of orbit and contact our escorts, inform them that we will be jumping out right on the jump boundary. Plot jump to first search area, and post it up to me for review."

Jei did his usual pre-jump checklist and locked the turrets so they would minimize the power draw for the jump, also so that they were locked in non firing position. When his lights went green he turned in his chair towards the Chusa, "Weapons systems prepped for Jump transfer, no faults." Spinning back in the chair, he hit his console to send an automated message to the hanger bays to lock down for jump. Once it was completed, he awaited the jump itself.

Noticing the differences from normal bugs, Chieko soon understood. "You're shorter than me," she agreed, "but definitely bigger than what one would initially assume you were like. Seems nature found another way to reinforce the structure and lighten the shell to make it easier to deal with."

She then looked at the higher sugar readings. "What would you be classified on your home world?" the biologist asked, only fascinated more, "Are you a primary consumer, or a higher order predator?"
