Babs paused for a moment as Gran’s answer threaded its way into the conversation, only to burst into a fit of laughter a second later. “D’aaaawww, ain’t that so damn chivalrous an’ shit!” She guffawed, slapping Gran a few more times on the back as she covered her mouth with the other hand, doing her best to stifle her giggle-fit. “Get a load’a this guy! Jeez a’ damn Rico, where do ya find these boys?!”

Rico, however, seemed more interested in something happening over by the bar. His grin slowly drooped, and he seemed to fall into a moment of thought. He didn’t respond to the humorous events happening on the table.

Autumn swirled the contents of her glass carefully with a careful rotation of her glass in her organic hand. She was still trying to get used to her hand's strength and avoided using it too much. "It's a rare dying breed, but it's nice to see that some of our marines are like that," she said softly with a smile at Gran. She noticed that Rico's voice was oddly silent next to her and she looked at him curiously, tilting her head to one side to follow his gaze towards the bar. "What's up, Sarge?"

The only thing apparently interesting happening at the bar was the familiar face of Adrian Decane, waiting for a drink or two at the bar no doubt. Rico narrowed his eyes slightly before giving his answer. “…nothing,” he turned to Autumn, flashing a smile, then turned to the rest of the table. He immediately grabbed his drink and swigged the rest of it in a few large, hearty gulps. “I’ll be back in a sec, fellas.”

Autumn watched Rico go with a confused expression on her face as she watched Rico stalk over to the bar. She shrugged and smiled as she looked at Gran and Babs. "How long have you known Rico, Babs? He rarely talks about his old life back here."

Gran let out a small merf and blushes slightly. It was always a little frustrating for people to be making fun of him for how he was. After all, weren't women supposed to like people being nice to them? Oh well. Gran looked at Babs. "Hey now, would you prefer me to try to be sneaking up your shirt?" He tried to keep his voice and face in a grin though he was a little embarrassed to say what he did.

Wrong thing to say. Babs scooted herself a bit closer to him and puffed out her chest, just a tad. “You offerin’, baby?”

“Since we were lil’ shits,” Babs said, lightly sipping her Tanker. “Grew up in Los Apagos with the rest a’ the gang. We’re thick as thieves, yeah,” Babs smirked and leaned in a little closer. “So how long you known ol’ Sanroma? I’m guessin’ ya just met him today, right? I know Rico’s known Gran here for a while.”

That line made Gran's face flush quite a bit. He glanced down at her puffed out chest then back up. "Uhh.... Well... I wouldn't push you for it."

Babs punched Gran in the shoulder again. "There he goes with the Carebear shit again! Gawd, I haven't seen shit like this in a long-ass time,” She snerked, taking another enormous gulp of her mystery drink.

"Nah. I've known Rico for a little while longer than that- at least a couple of months. I was in his squad on the Alliance, I had the pleasure of losing an arm with him during the Offensive and he was nice enough to help me find a new one," Autumn smiled as she sipped her drink. "I'll look forward to serving under him again on the Nerkat if they assign me to his squad again."

“Oooo…service girl, eh. Guess the scars come with the package, yeah?” Babs said nonchalantly between her smirk and drink. “I’m sure Rico likes ‘em well enough…he always did have broad tastes.”

Autumn grinned and let out a soft chuckle as she replied to Babs, "Some of them." She considered her drink again and lifted the glass, downing the very tall shot with a satisfied smile.

Gran frowned slightly from her punch, it wasn’t that it hurt... Was it that people didn't like people being nice? Well, maybe he could still be 'nice' while being 'loose' or whatever. Gran took a swig of his beer too. "What, you don't like it?"

Babs turned and shot Gran a sly little smile. “You wanna find out or somethin’, baby?”

"Naw, s'alright Rose. hey, take care Kagura. I still need to get the shot taken out." Gyles said, rubbing his injured arm. The pain was heavily blunted by a respectable dose of painkillers, so it didn't have any particular effect on his expression. "Oh, and Rose, you're going to stay with Kagura for a while? I'm leaving and grabbing a drink after I get the 'good-to-go' from a doc."

Gyles said:

This place. She's alright and talking, but knock first.

Ran stood there with a cigarette dangling out of the right corner of his mouth, apparently not oblivious to the fact that there was no smoking allowed in the hospital, since he had the mind to open a window down the hallway. With his hands in his pockets and his upper lip moving forward every once in a while to shake the ash from the end of his cancer stick, he took a nice big puff and let the smoke leak through his nose, staring at the "259" on the door. "What a shitty day..." He mumbled through the cigarette, sending a few embers spiraling down to lightly sting his chest, still exposed by a torn shirt.

Motivated by the desire to not look like an ass for not visiting Kagura, the Chief pulled his right hand out of his pocket and knocked on the door, before placing his hand back where it was. He was probably one of the reasons why Kagura got pissed off and left, what with him not handling the situation well with her. If the urge to make himself look like a half-decent person was removed, he would have just up and left for a bar somewhere to drown his frustrations in more alcohol. In this situation, he enjoyed twiddling a cigarette inside his pocket with the same right hand, but with it gone and replaced by a cybernetic one, this would not be possible.

"What the shit am I even doing?" He thought to himself, willingly letting himself slide just slowly into a little sense of despair. "None of the fuckin' Non-Coms or WOs back in the GSA ever fuckin' got this close to their Enlisted members. Bet they didn't have to deal with all this shit." Ran bit hard on his cigarette, taking a very long drag. "Damnit. I hate this shit." He pulled the cigarette butt out of his mouth and threw it to the ground, immediately grinding it into a black smudge on the tiled floor of the hospital.

Kagura had been relaxing with Rose and Gyles attending to other things and was leaning back against the raised bed. "Hmm? I must be pretty popular now." She sighed and whistled loudly. "It's open." she called to whomever was on the other side of the door. Kagura wasn't feeling too good about seeing people right now but it'd probably be unsafe to leave her alone with half the stuff running through her head.

Harrison was next in line after Ran, having already handed his 'sample' over to the hospital people.

"Waiting on you, chief."

Officer Black frowned as she was alerted that SMoDiN and IPG were taking over the investigation and she was told to turn over all data once she informed the victim of the change. She disliked losing the jurisdiction and the notion of letting that poor female marine out of the hospital before a psych exam could be conducted but... she was a marine. The military wanted to handle the case and her care.

She entered Kagura's room and offered a sympathetic smile to the purple haired marine. "Miss Balfour, I assume your friends have informed you of the situation. We have apprehended all men that were directly involved in what was done to you. The doctor will be coming in shortly to tell you what damage has been done but they assure me that you'll be okay if you take it easy. They should be releasing you soon- SMoDiN and IPG are going to be taking over your care and the investigation so you will not be stuck in Los Apagos until the trial. I'm sorry that such a thing happened to you while visiting our town and I hope in the future- we'll be able to stop it from occurring again.

You have a good bunch of friends here and I hope you'll be able to count on them to help you through this," she paused and gave a half wave. "I'd like to remind your gentlemen friends to help the investigation by contributing a sample to the hospital if they were present at the crime scene for any duration of time if they have not already." She smiled brightly, her teeth were sparkling. Indeed if she wasn't wearing the bulky body armor under her uniform, she might've been extremely hot instead of cute. "Before I go, do you have any questions for me?"

Pausing by the doorway, slightly taken aback by Kagura's non-crying-sounding voice, the Chief hesitated to open the door. Unfortunately for him, before he could get away, some police officer walked by him and opened the door for him. Sighing and looking back at Harrison, Ran walked through the doorway with his hands in his pockets, stopping behind the police officer and letting her finish what she had to say, being reminded of the hard time he had in collecting a "sample" of his own for the police.

"Maybe if you people could prevent such sites from even existing, this shit wouldn't have happened..." Ran thought to himself, not wanting to anger Kagura by saying that aloud. He walked past the officer, found a chair and sat a good distance away from Kagura, leaning forward and supporting himself on his two knees with his arms. "You feeling alright?"

Harrison also stepped easily through the door, a booted foot clomping on the tiled surface. He pulled a chair away from the wall and dragged it around to Kagura's bedside.

"How you doing?"

Rose smiled weakly at Gyles so he would feel better getting his paperwork taken care of. Ran's arrival dashed that, but the need to fight with him was long gone. She was clean and the rest of her feelings could handle the night on their own, "Officer?" The Marine asked Black, "Do you have something I can draft a report with?"

"Of course, Miss. I'll have some paper and a pen brought up for you. Thank you all for your help and cooperation so far," Officer Black smiled graciously again and lifted up her two-way radio up to her lips. "Black to Weiss, over."

"This is Weiss go ahead Black."

"Please bring up some paper and a pen to the victim's room, over."

"Roger that."

The policewomen clipped the two way radio back onto her belt. "Anything else I can help you folks with?"

Kagura looked over, her hair still shading her eyes for the moment as she did. "Oh hey...Ran...Harry..." She said with a sigh and closed her eye for a moment. "I feel like trash to be honest." Kagura admitted. "a mix of confusion, anger, depression....you get the picture. Most of it is shame though becuase what happened is my fault because I just walked away from the safety of the group for a stupid reason." she continued.

She looked over to Black for a moment, hearing the investigation was being turned over to the military and IPG.

"Just try to be glad that you're not dead." Ran reached over the back of his seat and pulled a folding chair from a rack nearby and opened it up for Harrison to sit on. "Did they say how long you'll be in for? I don't want you missing out on when we get back on board." Ran tried to include a tone in his voice that would make the situation somewhat...light-hearted, but all he came across as being was just another WO.

"Just look on the bright side. You could've ended up like Adrian and gotten stabbed through the chest by that brick-shitting abomination back on Kennwes, only you might not be here if that would have happened." Harrison unfolded the chair and sat down in it, smiling slightly.

After receiving Gyles' message, Fay used the map to get to the hospital. A few moments of looking this way and that, he asked a nurse where he might find the room of an injured marine named Kagura. After giving a description of the purple-haired woman, the nurse gave him directions to her room.

After getting lost a few times, he finally found her room. He knocked softly, hoping not to wake her if she was sleeping... even though he could hear voices on the other side of the door.

A tall male darker skinned doctor entered Kagura's room with a much shorter dark haired nurse in a set of white and green scrubs. He looked at the group gathered and audibly cleared his throat, visibly uncomfortable about the situation.

"Excuse me folks, but as Corporal Black already informed you- we are transferring Ms. Balfour's care to the medical staff on the NSS Nerkat. So you are free to go whenever you are ready. We suggest avoiding any alcohol or physically intensive activities until your body has recovered. You've been through a hard time but you were very lucky, I suspect you'll recover within the next couple of weeks. If you experience any mental duress, the medical staff on the Nerkat said that they'll provide you with any counseling you need."

A police officer handed the nurse a pad of paper and a pen before disappearing back outside the door.

The nurse took the paper over to Rose and offered it to her. "Here Miss, Corporal Black said you requested this for your statement."

"Well, I'll leave you to this." With that statement, Harrison stood up and clapped Kagura on the shoulder. "Good luck." He gathered his coat-tails and left.
