RP: SSS Journeymen 3 [Mission 1.0] Baptism of Fire and Ice

Sakura was slightly jolted by the message, not expecting it in the last espically given the ability to speak words. She looked over at Raquel and smiled. "We've been friends for a long time, and now we serve together, it would be rude of me not to help you out. And, well, I really wanna learn how to fly..."

At that moment a person walked in, although the could not see the face of the person. Whomever it this person was, they were carrying a large stack of clothes and other items.

"Good day sirs, ladies. Sayuri informed me of our mission, so I took the liberty of stopping by the Tensai's cargo area and picking up some items for the mission. I picked up some thermal underwear, insulated boots, parkas. Said a male voice from behind the stack of items.

Without another word the person quickly walked around the room depositing a stack of the aforementioned items in front of each member of the team. After he completed the circuit of the table he place an additional stack on the table and stood there.

The person standing in front of them was about 5' 7" tall, had 3" long straight black hair and lavender eyes. He smiled proudly at his accomplishment, but there was something a bit odd about his facial features.

Alice lightly tapped and her knees, so far it looked like name she suggested will be used, but that can change. Should Sakure or Kage change their opinion to something else... well hopefully they will pick Spark too.

Man coming in with pack of clothing torn her train of thought apart. He stacked some of the items in front of each member and then stood there waiting. It was probably the way he spoke that made Alice think there was something off about him.

"Excuse me," she said, looking the man in the face. "Are you some kinda of butler?" Alice could not really help but to ask. Did SSS ships have butlers?

The gentleman cocked his head slighting to the left. "Butler? No ma'am I am not a butler. I am an EM-J2 series Gebuko android, purchased by the SSS and assigned to Journeymen team three. My designation is Satoshi. I was merely endeavoring to be efficient and helpful." he replied.

"Well let's get moving folks. For the time being we will go with the name Spark for our Tenba, we have a mission and sitting here isn't going to get it done." He said looking at his fellow team mates, then looked at the android.

"Satoshi, are you trained in more than being a steward I hope?"

"Yes sir, I have been programmed with the SSS standard field procedures and I an proficient in standard maintenance and repair of equipment." Satoshi answered.

"Spark actually sounds good to me so I am withdrawing my suggestion as well. My father always said no knowledge comes without a spark of wisdom." He said with a smile to Alice. He took out his datapad and made sure that his weapons were in the armory. He typed out a message to Sayuri.

Sayuri, based on what you heard about the native animal life do you have suggestions about what weapons I should take? I want to bring everyone home safe and sound but if it turns out that I need to fight I want to do it right the first time.
.

Chikai looked around, "Well that gives us a majority. So Sayuri, please register our ship as the YSS Spark, YX-C3-0101. Unless anyone has anything else, I say we head down and stow our gear aboard the Spark and start our preflight."

"So logged Kenshin-San." Sayrui answered from the speakers. Then she replied to Kage.
According to the reports the weapons you have selected should be more than adequate to the task. However perhaps you should add a Zen Armaments Precision Sniper Rifle, and a Tanken armor for your use.

Raquel looked at Sakura, "Well, let's get moving. I have read the preflight procedure for the Tenba-Class, but I have never flown one." She said standing up and picking up the items delivered by Satoshi.

"Welcome aboard Satoshi!" Alice said and laughed, giving the man-android slight bow of greetings. "Just don't get hurt, I am medic not a mechanic!" She joked and smiled at him. She was also very happy that the ship has name she thought of.

"Oh Kage-san please do not worry about myself," Alice then said to security officers. "I have my own weapons. Though I would also note that shotguns would be excellent against animals. Hopefully we won't need to shoot."

Alice then turned her head to Raquel and Sakura. "You girls ever shot a gun?" She asked with curiosity in her voice.

"I'll help you out then," smiled Sakura as she followed her friend. "Need help with those items? I can carry them," she offered before hearing Alice's question.

The question sent shivers down her spine, nervously she looked away from the girl for a moment before saying. "N-no..."

"I suppose so but I have to do my job." Kage said with a smile. "I wouldn't want any of you ladies and gentlemen to get hurt because I wasn't prepared. Even if you are armed I want to be some kind of back up so if your gun jams or otherwise is messed up I can be of use. If you'll excuse me." He excused himself and headed down to the armory and grabbed a ZA Precision Sniper Rifle and the Tanken armor. He checked the sniper rifle and made sure that all of the parts that moved were working.

He then put on the armor and checked it as he put on the individual parts. He made sure that all the connections were tight and powered up the armor. He saw one of the capacitors were powering the shields and the other was powering the anti-grav. He activated the shields for a second to make sure that they were working and did the same with the anti-grav. After seeing that they were working he placed them on standby and stowed the sniper rifle by his seat. He made sure that he had his NSP and charger then brought some ammo for the sniper rifle. He then waited for the others to arrive.

Satoshi returned Alice's bow. "I shall endeavor to keep myself fully operational. It is one of my primary paradigms."

Raquel looked at Sakura. "I can handle this stuff. I guess once we get aboard the Spark, we can see about where to store them." She replied, then looked at Alice, "I have been trained in handling handguns. The majority of my experience is on the target range. But I did have to shoot at a canine predator while on a trip with my parents."

Chikai picked up his small bag that he brought down to the meeting, and grabbed the items provided by Satoshi. He exited the wardroom and made his way down to the shuttle bay. He paused a moment to look at the newly dubbed Spark, before opening the hatch and stepping in.

Alice collected her item and the things Satoshi brought. At least she did not have to get the winter gear from her room thanks to this. She was exactly happy hearing that Sakura has never fired a fun, though it was not in job description here anyway. That girl was actually lucky not having to use one before. At least Raquel had some experience.

Hopefully weapons won't be needed, but Alice felt safer knowing, that Spark had armoury on it with several weapons. Even one shotgun, which she decided to take outside when they land. Against animals, shotgun was really great. Although her XASER rifle might suffice.

Alice followed Kenshin to Spark and walked in right behind him.

Kenshin entered the module and surveyed the arrangements. "Well we have two cabins that can hold four people. I say we let the women have them, Kage and I can stow our gear in the forward lockers and use the bunks for sleeping."

He returned to the forward cabin and stowed his gear, and after closing the locker crossed over to the power generators. Within a few minutes he had the Spark's power system on line and ramping up to operating levels.

------------------

Raquel looked to Sakura, "Want to be room mates? Or do you want to bunk with Alice?"

Sakura nervously looked at Raquel. "I'd rather bunk with you, no offense to Alice..." she said and glanced at Alice with an innocent smile.

Raquel turned to Alice. "So which cabin do you want? The port or the starboard one?" she inquired.

Satoshi set about putting up the various supplies that had been delivered. Although he conspicuously avoided the weapons.

Alice looked around the Spark, not responding right away. It was good ship. Not too big, but size was not everything. It was perfect in Alice's eyes. Any ship not supposed to go into war was perfect for Alice. Exploration and fetch-travels, that was what she wanted to do. Help here, look there. No fighting.

"Nothing pleases the lady as a gentleman," she said and smiled at Kenshin and walked toward the stern where those two rooms were. "I guess I will take the left one, not that it matters. Okay, let's make ourselves like home then." She added and went to inspect her new room.

The two cabins were laid out the same. They were small compartments, with a set of bunk beds mounted against the wall. There was a pair of lockers located on the forward wall, and a pair of chairs. Each bunk had its own intercom panel and a small reading lamp. The walls were the same standard color the rest of the Spark's interior was painted.

------------------

Raquel went to the starboard cabin and put her equipment in the inner most locker. It only took a few minutes to secure the extra gear and the the stuff she had packed into the locker. "Sakura, you get first pick of the bunks. I have no preference. Right now I'm heading to the flight deck, so I can get ready to start the pre-flight, meet you there." she said with a smile. "Our first adventure is about to begin."

--------

Kenshin turned to Kage, "Primary power is online, I suggest you take the Systems station, and run diagnostics on the weapon systems. They should be operational since the Spark is new, but I think its better safe than sorry. Hopefully we will not need them."

"Roger that!" He said and then started running the system diaognostics. He checked every part of the weapon systems and made sure that the targeting systems worked. "All weapons systems check out and are ready for use." He sat down and monitored the systems as he waited for the ship to take off.

"And so we go, in to that great unknown. Where things great and small shall bestow upon us wisdom or let us behold wondrous sights. " He said out loud remebering something that he was told when he was learning about space and things of that nature when he was a child in school.

"Ok!" Sakura smiled and walked into the cabin, she took a look around before putting her bag and what she had on her in a free locker, then walked over to the bunks and began to think about which to use.

After a moments thought, she picked the top bunk and smiled briefly before running out of the cabin to meet back up with Raquel.

Alice did not stay in her room for long. She just set her back pack on the floor and took her Xaser rifle out. She put it on the bed after making sure the safety was on. Young medic then walked outside and joined the others in the cabin. "I guess the second bed in my room will be sickbay of sorts. Hopefully it won't be needed." She said softly as she looked around.

Raquel made her way to the pilot station on the Spark. She sat down and adjusted her seat to her preferred position. She entered her personal code into the console and watched in satisfaction when it was accepted and the screens came online and commenced initialization.

She pulled up the pre-flight checklist and put it on a volumetric display and started going through the initial steps.

-------------------

Chikai took up his position at the Science station for now and monitored the ship's progress. He opened a channel to the Tensai. "Spark to Tensai, power up complete commencing pre-launch checklist." he said over the comm.

-------------------

Satoshi stood towards the rear of the flight deck, uncertain where he should stand or how he could best be of service. He theorized that by being where he was he was close enough to offer assistance and to fetch anything that someone might require.
