RP: Yome Ismâopate [Mission 1.1] Whom fortune favors - Recon

La'tâ nodded inside her stako once more "Affirmative." She then began following after Keyul, her weapons all still primed for combat. Though she was thinking for the walls of the stako, she could relax her expression and let her guard down a little now that Keyul is back in charge. She didn't want to be caught taking things easy though, not just because she was a Tula but a retainer as well, so this was a rare chance for her to take a more relaxed expression that the rest of her team may never see.

Murr took the position designated by Keyul, as she was ready to for upcoming encounters with the Defilers. Her rifle at ready as she moved to his right side. Her plasma cannon at ready. She would use the rifle till its ammo expired, while conserving what's left of the mixture that provided plasma killing energy. She would use it if needed for the extra punch and then when her rifle ammo was gone.

Taking the weapon Memi fell in behind the group... Walking backwards with a rear cam helping him walk, he scanned the retreat. Each moment he was waiting for more nightmares to come skittering out of the shadows... the sweat started pouring out from him again, as his more normal moods and views became more prevalent again. The weapon twitched every few moments as a shadow moved or seemed to.

Ahead of the group flashes of weapon discharges started to illuminate the passageway. Approximately 50 meters ahead of the group there was a large group of Defilers moving forward. They were rushing to approach the other members of the crew and help the Defilers that were attacking.

"Fire at will. Take out that group of Defilers before they join the other swarm." Keyul called out.

In acknowledgement of the order from Keyul, Murr sent a deadly stream of plasma fire into the bunched up Defilers, whose attention was on their shipmates and fellow soldiers. Bringing into play her rifle, alternating between the two weapons of her's. Gave an excellent accounting of her tactics to get the maxuim effect with limited munitions and plasma fire.

Murr fine tuned the beam of plasma into a thinner stream for more concentrated penetration, than going for the normal circumferance of the plasma stream burning a wide area, for the more deadlier internal damage.

Once her rifle ammo ran out, she shifted it to hang down her back.

La'tâ thought a moment at seeing the large group of defilers in front of her and switched her rifle to single shot so she could place each bullet more accurately. She then decided to fire her plasma canon as smaller defilers trying to catch many with each shot, and saved her ammunition in her rifle for the crab types an others who needed stronger penetrative powers.

A few short bursts came from the rear of the group helping as much as he could, Memi tied to keep as mush control of him self. he didn't want to fall back to the savage he became with the ripper. It was a fight for him though , the urge to open up until the weapons emptied was great. Memi was sure that he had lost objectivity in this mission, how was he going to write the history of this all up?

Murr took notice of weapons fire zippping past her into the enemy. She took a step outward from Keyul to give Memi more clearance between Keyul and herself to fire her weapons effectively and/or step up online with the rest of the group as Murr dealt with her chosen targets.

Keyul commenced firing at the group of Defilers alternating his shots between his four weapons, this gave him roughly on 2.5 seconds between volleys at the mass of Defilers.

The effect of being now trapped between two groups of Stako equipped clan members was pronounced. The Defilers began charging about in a frenetic fashion. Some of them were tear at the material of the passage way walls. Others charged towards Keyul's group of stako using the bodies of their slain members as shields. Bits of Defiler flew in various directions as the four Stako hit from multiple positions.

The other group seeing the threat identified by the groups attack, turned a portion of their Stako to deal with the threat.

It was chaos, Murr weapons went silent and dead. But she held the line as she closed up the cooling vents on her Plasma Generators to prevent the Defilers getting a pawhold on her as she as she switch from weapons to hand to hand combat. She blanked her mind and focused all command directly from her mind to the Stako through the link, making the Stako her new body.

Oh she could roar, even thogh it was artificial in sounding, as Murr, litery, ripped the dead Defiler from the one that held it. She leaped over the body as the now shieldless Defiler jerked from impacts from the other more larger group of her shipmates. Another artificial snarl emmited as Murr was disappointed not being able to go toe to toe with the Defiler.

Once the shipmates knew the defilers were present, La'tâ lowered her rate of fire and focused even more on making every shot a lethal one, since now there were more people firing, high rate of fire from individuals wasn't as important. She speaks on the comm, but she made sure it was on a private chat with Keyul only. "We should try to bring back a survivor Keyul-sar. We can develop biological weapons against them that way...If you tell the Tin-To'a I can work on it. But I need to have the quarantine room, and no one can wander in...I'd like if as few people found out as possible."

Keyul continued firing to keep the Defilers away from the group. Of course Murr being without weapons now weakened the overall group effectiveness at providing effective cover fire.

A pair of Defilers leaped at Murr's Stako attempting to knock her down to savage the armor.

Keyul keyed his communicator. "La'tâ if you want to conduct research like that take some samples of the Defilers once we are done. There is no way the Tin-To'a or the Tin-Ta'a are going to allow a live Defiler onboard the Yome Ismâopate, or any clan ship for that matter. The only way live ones would be studied would be in a secure facility on a planet. "

"I could do some research and testing with samples, but chemical weapons can only be tested so far on samples." She continued firing her weapon, covering Murr as well to make sure she doesn't get overwhelmed. "Even the smallest ones would be suitable and it could be contained."

Murr was overhealmed, even with La'ta help. The Stako just couldn't perfom some ofthe maneuvers that Murr's ingrained fighting style. It just wasn't flexible enough like a natural organic body could do. But still she ripped open the flesh of the Defilers. Until one got behind her and suicided; killed by La'ta; to knock Murr and her Stako off her feet. She could play possium, but that wasn't her style.

She was seriously addicted to living and being dead would sure be hell for her since she couldn't feed her addiction of being alive. At the moment, her relationship with her Stako was a hate/love affair. She hated it for the lack of freedom of being without it. But the loved the protection it provided.

The Defiler, she landed on, got squished by the Murr/Stako's and Dead Defiler's weight combined. She shoved to all fours. Mentaly wailing at the clean-up job when getting back to the ship with it. Murr did her best to hold the line, learning what the limits of the Stako and what she could do with it.

She heard a few pings off her armor from projectiles hitting her armor after they lost much of the force behind it after going through the Defiler's bodies. She grew fustrated and angry as she struggled with fighting the Stako against the Defilers in paw to paw fighting.

In the dim interior lighting of the Stako, she spotted a few power cables that were unnecessary and knowing all the vital equipment was protected from exterior electrical shock. She ripped a cable apart from the forced disconnect and shoved the live end against hull of the Stako.

That should make the Defilers to back off as her hull became like a bare live wire. Murr commanded more power output to really charge the hull. Oh she was so going to be in trouble when she got her Stako back to the ship. But for the moment, she was concentrating on just preventing Defilers from escaping their deaths at the paws of her team, shipmates and herself.

A different voice cut into the conversation. It was the Tin-To'a voice. "Sâvyjo La'tâ Qoji, Sâvyjo Aaeas has the right of it. You try to bring a living Defiler aboard the Yome Ismâopate, I will shoot your Stako myself. Any clan ship that a Defiler gets onto becomes a potential target, and will not be allowed to approach any Clan holding.

You want to do your research, do as Keyul told you take samples of the Defilers. Later when you think you have something worth testing, we can always find some live ones to let you test it on.

Are we clear on this subject?"

Keyul meanwhile moved forward and dispatched another pair of the creatures. He switched off the coil cannons as they were now out of munitions.

The larger group of Stako was likewise whittling the number down. A desperate one tried to make a dash past Keyul and came into contact with Murr's Stako. With half of its legs in the water on the bottom of the passage and the others on the Armor, it became an effective conductor. Inside of Murr's cockpit the internal lights dimmed as the current drain to fry the Defiler was felt. The acrid smell of overheated plastic could be detected.

La'tâ was a rather frustrated at hearing to Tin-To'a's words, but even if they could see her face, they would not know it, she kept her expression flat, and her voice level. There was only a slight flattening of her tone as she responded to his words. "I will do what I can with a sample, but my specialty lies in medicines, which don't work on dead things very well. So results will be limited." She continued her work but started trying to put down some Defilers with minimal damage to retain as much material for testing as possible. The one that attached itself to Murr was a perfect option as well seeing how it responded to electricity would yield some valuable data, so she aimed a shot for it's head and tried to shoot it off Murr with her rifle, of course positioning herself so the bullet wouldn't pierce through to Murr as well.

Murr paws flew over the controls on a will of their own as Murr tried to peel the now fried Defiler off of her, feeling more impacts against her Stako and the scraping of metal as the projectile whizz over her armor.

Her Stako growled artificialy, "Shop. Shooing Atsss Meeze." Vents popped open as the fire suppression helion gas smoke seam to squirt out in gysers of smoke. Then a very high whine emmitted from her Stako to drive the Helion gas from the interior of the Stako, so fresh air could refill the compartment that held Murr in safety. Her vents snapped closed, and were designed to chop off bio-organic appendages that tried to prevent the vent from closing.

Murr loved learning and it showed in her high grades and strived to be very physically fit to survive the Ritual into Adulthood. But learning OJT under very hostile condition (in combat) was mind blowing and it taxed her to push beyond her limits. She held the line as she regained her full standing poster to stand with her teammates. She advanced when they did, moved back when they did to hold the line.

Keyul turned to assist Murr, stomping on the Defilers that were close bay. Suddenly a barrage of energy weapon fire struck his Stako in the leg and chest. The impact as strong enough that he fell to the side. Over his communicator "I'm hit, friendly fire, repeat friendly fire."

Red light warnings flashed across the console. His right leg had sustained serious damage, the chest armor had been compromised as well. He ran diagnostics of the core systems and the leg using his Iginâ Yoqa. The structure of the leg was intact the weapon fire had sliced through the musculature after it penetrated the armor. He could see about cannibalize some of the musculature in his left leg to make the right one functional.

Burst after burst came from Memi's weapons, slowly draining his stockpile of ammunition. As he fired the urge to run towards the rest of the Stakos and hide, had to be fought. The once he saw Keyul get hit repetitively. Stepping forward Memi worked himself so that he was blocking the angle on the leader.

The burst continued until all he had left was his Phased Plasma Cannon, switching over he continued to fire at the defilers.

Murr steadily gotten used to fighting her Stako and performance rose as she learned. Hearing Keyul's cry over the comm's, Murr did a quick glance. Seeing Memi step up to provide cover for Keyul. She closed up the space to make it even harder for the Defilers get past.

She could see the desperation in the remaining Defiler as their numbers fell fast under the onslaught of the combined efforts from both teams. They were becoming more desperate to find that one route of escape as they fought and died under the onslaught of both teams.

With one of their numbers down, majority of the Defilers turned from the larger goup and charged them emass. Murr growled again as she fought on. With her electrified hull as a weapon in itself, any she clawed opened was also electricuted, driving them back into those followed, creating more confusion amongst the Defilers. Forcing them to fight each other to get at them.

Murr could see the other team through the gaps in the Defilers as more and more succumbed to her onslaught. ...
