RP: Yome Ismâopate [Mission 1.1] Whom fortune favors - Recon

Once the team was on the top of the structure Keyul brought his weapons back online. "Okay spread out in a line to my sides. No bunching up. We all get to close and we might find ourselves crashing through to the floor again.

He started walking with caution making his steps as light as one could when operating a Stako. After only a minute he got the first positive sign. The tactical system of the Stako starting showing intermittent pings from the other members of the team. While they were not consistent enough to get a true ID it at least gave them a partial fix on their location. There was still nothing on the tact comm channel, but hopefully that would improve once they got closer.

Murr went to four's again as it spread her weight out over a larger area, effectively making her lighter and easier for the roof support her Stako's more evenly spread out weight. But it still creaked under her, due to the holes in the roof.

She moved to the right of Keyul leaving enough of a gap between her and him for another Stako to safely fill in the Gap.

Murr was feeling tough but it was tinged with caution by the way she moved like a jungle cat on the hunt. Stealthy with great deliberation in her movement. Slow was smooth; smooth was fast and stealthy. Plus it prevent a lot of mistakes as it gave her time to plan and think, remember things that were useful. Plus it helped her to unwind from being tence and deal with the adereniline rushes of combat.

She did her scans, picking up intermintant signals from the other teams. Knowing that the others were probaly picking them up also.

As the group moved across the top of the industrial complex there were places where there was obvious damage and they had to spread out. La'tâ's sensor data was giving her a better fix on the two larger Defilers as they got closer. It took a while for the smaller ones to realize that they could not flank the team as they had intended so they started heading back towards the larger Defilers.

The intermittent contact with the rest of the team improved to the point that they had a reliable location on them, and then a channel opened on the comm. The Tin-To'a's voice came out of their comm systems.

Recon 1 this is Recon Lead.
What is your status?

Keyul let out a brief sigh of relief that communications had been restored.

Determined that there are Nekovalkyrja living in the southern part of the complex.
Have also encountered Defilers in the structure. All team mates are fine, Stako are operational but expendable munitions are in limited supply.
Need you to rendezvous at the following coordinates. There are more Defilers there including an armored one.
We are currently moving across the top of the complex to avoid the Defilers.

After sending his message Keyul stopped and looked at the structure ahead. They were close to the enemy's position, so they needed to prepare to breach so they could engage. He started picking the points on the surface that he would start firing at. Once he was done he transmitted them to his team.

"The information I sent shows you where I will be blasting the roof to create an opening. Move to a position near to the site. Once I blow a hole in we will move up and commence firing from above." he said to his team.

La'tâ was careful on the roof, treading lightly to make sure not to collapse the roof. When her scan data came in she read through it but kept herself from speaking as she waited for Keyul to finish his speaking with teh Tin-To'a and talking the plan over with the team. She started to make her move to one of the assigned spots after looking over the received information. "The smaller defilers have started to make their way back to the larger two. We should make our attack swift."

Murr moved to her assigned spot on the roof. As she waited, she prepped an added bonus. Her remaining explosives. With holes already in the roof, it would vent the released forces safely into the air while destroying anything within the main blast area. She scanned the structure around the two big Defilers, seeing that it had been re-enforced. Bringing up the "holes", Murr needed to toss the explosives just right to bring even more destruction raining down on the two Defilers. At least the unarmored one will be in a world of hurt, and hopefully killed in the blast. As for the Armored One... At least crippling the Defiler's Mech. So they could rain fire and destruction upon it at their liesure.

Memi stayed out of the way during the bulk of the situation, choosing to film and record the events. Each of the explosions cause him to jump a bit with in the confines of his mech. Ever so slowly he was developing a bit of claustrophobia of being in the Stako all this time.Beads of sweat started building up under his fur and rolling down his arms, no matter how cold he set the internal environment systems.

La'tâ's sensor data accuracy was improving given their location. The two large Defilers were definitely down there, and the smaller ones were making their way through the complex to regroup. She also had data of a cluster of the crabs moving towards the other group from the Yome.

The surface the group was standing on was a reinforced concrete like substance. There were rust stains running across it from the various metal objects that protruded. Most of them were broken off with jagged edges at varying heights. There were a few stress fractures that could be seen but there was know way to how deep they went.

Keyul looked around at the group, he was concerned about Memi, the Chronicler was definitely out of his element. But so far he was at least joining the others. He noted that Murr and La'tâ were in position.

'No time like the present. We attack the Defiler leaders, all the Crab Defilers will converge here. That would give their ship mates the time they needed to come to the fray.' he thought.

He targeted the points that he had selected. Each of his weapons was trained on a specific point. His first volley would weaken the structure. He noted that Murr had a demolition charge in hand.

"Get ready, firing now." he said across the comm and fired the weapons.

Three brilliant deadly spheres of plasma fired from his hip cannons tearing into the roof structure. At the same time three deadly projectiles flew from each of his forearms shattering the concrete and sending debris into the air.

After the volley and as his weapons recharged he keyed the communicator, "Now Murr."

Roof Above the Defilers --

Murr's flash shields went into effect as she tossed the pre-set timed explosives as the secondary blast from Keyul's weapon fire sent debris into the air. With enough force that the Explosives hit the edge of the hole that Keyul had just made and tumbled into the room below along with the debri that was thrown up by Keyul weapons discharges, succumbing to the laws of physics.

15 Seconds later, three fountains of debri, smoke and what ever was in the room, shot back up through the holes as the building gave an erie groan protesting the sudden abuse against its structure.

Murr charged forward carefully, feeling the roof crackle like ice with too much weight upon it. Even on all fours. Once her vision and targeting cleared from the more heavier particules, she opened her vents to the plasma generator, activating the cannon's cooling system, Murr opened fire into the enlarged hole of the combined weapons fire and explosives.

First it was just spray and pray into the room below till her targeting system kicked in and penetrated the dust to roughly identify her intended targets. Then her rate of plasma fire slowed down to a more accurate steady rate of firing, allowing the build-up of heat to dissapate faster now that she had her vents open and cooling system working this time around.

Murr was pleased as her purrr motor kicked in. Even though she still had the fear of the Defilers and being on a roof that would collapse any second. She had mastered it and using it to keep her alert as she thought out each actions as she brought hell upon her people's enemies.

It almost became surreal to her as if she stepped outside of her body as a spectator watching a video of the Fearsome Four engaging in combat against their superior foe yet obviously seriously weaker than the Four.

A soft beeping penetrated the fog of her mind, indicating that the Stako, she controlled, was using reserved energy.
She had to force herself to even slow the rate of fire down even more to conserve energy. She exhaled in a soft hiss within the confines of her Stako.

La'tâ got on all fours once the pillar of debris cleared out. She would've preferred to use her rifle, but if the enemy retaliated and she fell, she might not land well bipedal. The Stako's mouth opened and the integrated canon revealed itself once more. as she used her sensor data to pick out targets and start firing on them. "I'm picking up signals from the crab-type Mishhu, there is a group heading for our sister unit that has been dispatched. They will probably be able to handle them on their own, but reinforcements will be delayed."

Keyul was prepared to open fire again after Murr's charge brought the roof down literally. However as he looked for a viable target the roof beneath him broke apart under the Ripper's barrage. His Stako plummeted the the four stories to the ground. When Keyul hit the ground floor, the mass of his Stako and the momentum crashed into the level below it. The force of the fall slammed him into his restraint straps painfully. He was disoriented and it took a moment for him to clear his head and survey his location. He keyed the communicator and got a red light on his console. The transmitter was showing a fault, the antenna was missing. 'Well, that definitely did not go according to plan.' he thought and then swore, "Versa." As he looked around the room, there was only one visible door and it was far to small for his Stako. That meant he had to risk jumping up and grabbing hold of the floor above and pulling himself up in the midst of the Defilers.

From where the others of his team stood, Keyul vanished in a cloud of debris and dust. His Stako also vanished from their IFF.

The Ripper was still functional below the team, but the standard Mishhu was killed by the detonation. So were a number of the crab ones.

With the universe seemingly going insane, Memi moved forward to record what happened to Keyul. He crept his Stako forward trying to keep its feet away from the hole, he tipped his mech forward to look down. he must have stepped on a weakened bit of ground, because they gave way letting him fall forward.

It felt like to him like a few minutes of free fall as he watched the Ripper and the ground fly up at him. Slamming into the enemy PA Memi started jerking the Stako about trying to free it's self from the PA.

It took a moment for La'tâ to realize that Keyul had fallen in thankfully she was relying on her scans for getting an accurate picture in the first place, so she could pick the Stako shaped energy source out of the group. She sent a message over the comms to try and inform him, unaware of his missing antenna "Keyul you need to move out of our firing line, your IFF systems are not working properly and you're being picked up as an unknown. I repeat Keyul your IFF systems are down and you need to move outside are firing line." She continued to fire on her side realizing he can't retreat too easily with defilers on his back so she did the best she could to keep them off him.

Unaware of the loss of teammates falling into the fray below them, Murr now was taking well aimed killing shots with her Plasma cannon. Seeing the Ripper for the first time, feeling moisture run down her leg as paralyzing fear engulfed her. Letting trained instincts take over, swung and targeted the Ripper. She pressed the activation button on her plasma cannon, but it didn't fire due to the confusion of the IFF from Memi's Stako and the Ripper occupying the same spot on her targeting system.

If Murr could yeowl, it would shatter steel and eardrums. Jabbing at the ineffective fire button. She swung and targets another Mishuu coming into view and litery melts it into ash from the surge of released plasma energy, leaving a flash lightspot contrail in her normal vision.

For the moment the Ripper was unable to engage the other members of the team. Memi's stako and the Ripper were tangled and it could not bring the weapons to bear on Memi's frame, but it also could not effectively using its weapons against those who were still above.

Some ot the crab like Defiler's were trying to get at Memi's frame, but the weapon fire from above killed any that were foolish enough to try. Instead a group of them started climbing up the walls sinking their pincers to hold on. The first of them to make it up climbed onto the roof and charged at those nearest. That was La'tâ that three of the crabs attacked.

Keyul could hear the weapon fire coming from above him. His Stako gave him a reading on the height of the ceiling and it was to high for him to jump up to. So he aimed his fusion cannons at a point where the ceiling met the wall. He fired several times creating a hole large enough to climb through. When he was satisified he started climbing up the wall.

Murr seeing the Mishuu crabs climbing up out of the hole onto the roof and closing in on La'ta. Raised up to two legs and swung her slung rifle off its secure place of rest. She kept up the barrage of plasma fire into the level below them, praying to all that is Sacred and Holy, that she hadn't shot and killed Keyul in the sudden discharge of plasma fire. Bringing her rifle into play, using the sighting system of the rifle and onboard targeting system for the rifle, began shooting at the Mishhu Crablike Defilers, in lethal 3 round bursts. Knowing that if La'ta accidently moved into her rifle fire, the projectiles would bounce off harmlessly, unless one got into joint of La'ta's Stako, crippling it. Or hit a vital fragile piece of equipment like an antenna or a camera that was tied into the computer targeting system.

Murr was on the edge of full blown panic, loyalty to her team and military training warred to keep her there just shooting and hopefully killing the Nightmares from Hades. A soft warbling chimes sounded alerting her to total shutdown of her Stako adding to her growing fear. Her plasma beams were just wounding and crippling the enemy.

She began to shut down non-required systems to extend her power to her Stako as she used her mind through the SPINE Interface to do so....

La'tâ had put most of her attention to Keyul and did not notice Memi falling down as well until now, but after a moment of thinking this might be good for them. "Memi, I can not raise Keyul on the communications and his IFF is down, if you see him make your way to him if possible, that was we can keep our shots clear of him." The little Tula was composed as ever, her training as a retainer kept her from showing any panic in what she did but on the inside her mind was running at full speed as she tried to keep up with everything.

Thankfully for her Murr began firing on the crabs that approached her first, other wise La'tâ might have noticed too late. She backed up and pulled her rifle as well beginning to fire. "Murr, I don't know if we can hold this roof with just the two of us above."

Keyul listened to the weapon fire from above as he ascended. He was only detecting weapon fire from two points. 'What in the name of the Great Divine is going on up there?' he thought. He increased his rate of ascent and heaved himself up and out in a leap to land on the floor.

He looked around and saw one Stako in close quarters with the Ripper, and two others above. He also saw the Defilers scrambling up towards those. Using his neural link with his Stako he quickly targeted each of his weapons. One fusion cannon aimed at the exposed arm of the Ripper. Fortunately with his comms down the IFF would not interfere. He then fired his forearm coil weapons at the Defilers who were climbing spraying the lot of them as his arms swept back and forth. From his vantage point they were easy picking. He fired his second fusion cannon at a group of the Defilers that were nearby. Of course he had just made himself a target for the crab Defilers but that was fine. He started making his way over to the Stako and Ripper to get a position where he could do more good.

The flow of Defilers onto the roof stopped and the ones La'tâ and Murr engaged were soon so many quivering pieces of Defiler.

La'tâ's sensors would also show that there were multiple clan Stako converging on their location. ETA of 5 Tui'sai (Minutes).

Murr seeing the Defilers stopped appearing over the edge. With her panic filled mind, forcing herself to think things through. Conserving what energy she had left for the Defilers that would eventually make it to the roof. She took deep breath to cleanse the fear induced toxins from her self. Trying to think of what the Stako carried in ways to recharge it without compromising her suits integrity and keep her area of responcibilty covered.

Then she heard La'ta speak as it dawned on her that Keyul and Memi were missing from the rooftop. She typed furiously back in responce : Icantgo. nopower to spare. Stakobarely fires. where other 2? :: She knew her grammer sucked, but hopefully La'ta would make sence of it quickly.

Even if her Stako completely died, there was still the destructive charge with its own 1 time use charge to prevent HSC tech from falling into the Defiler's claws. Auto-triggered by the lack of her bio-signature or it could be set off by manuel control.

She hoped that Memi and Keyul died quickly, where ever they was at in the building below them. The Fearless Four last hunt together... She typed her last message to La'ta,

:: It's been an honor serving with you and the rest. Save yourself so that my last act will be honorable in knowing that one of my packmates will be able to tell the story of our bravery, Murr ::

With a heavy heart, Murr sent it to La'ta as she prepped her Stako for its last hurrah....

La'tâ quickly tried to piece together what was going on, and take take command since Keyul was out of radio communication. Murr's last message gave her pause and she had to respond quickly "What are you saying? We can handle this. Our pack mates will arrive in five tui'sai(minutes). If you're running low on power conserve your energy and fire on the defilers. It seems that Keyul is still active, I can not get him on radio but his stako's energy signature is moving." She leaned in back over the whole and began firing once more on the defilers inside, now trying to keep them away from Keyul and Memi hoping they can handle the ripper together. "Their survival will depend on our support fire so stay alert." She wanted to get off the roof, but seeing that someone below shot the defilers, and that Murr was so shaken up and low on energy she couldn't leave her up there alone, so she buckled down trying to keep her shots as accurate as possible so as to not waste ammo.

Memi struggled against the ripper he found himself in grapple with. He had no clue what to do. The call for him to give answer. But the poor chronicler was busy fighting for his existence. How in the seven pits of the under-universe did he end up here.

He started to hit all the buttons and commands he could find to fire off the weapons he carried, The all started going off in different direction. Each moment he was more and more sure was going to be his last, with the crab defilers coming for him, and any moment the ripper would get the upper hand.
