RP: YSS Eucharis [Mission 12.1] Encounter At Shara

Sune entered the cargo bay and saw Hanako meeting with one of the Gartagens. With his science scanner attached to his belt and his ICP tucked under his arm he silently walked to the top of the ramp.

He mentally sent a message via his communicator rather than directly to Hanako.
Apologies for the delay Taisa. Seems a few of our newest recruits want to have their physicals before we started our diplomatic endeavors. Jalen-Chui

This seemed somewhat anti-climatic to him, Hanako was talking to one of the aliens and most of the crew had yet to arrive. He shrugged and was about to walk down the ramp when he heard one of the Gartagen ask to come aboard.

Damn it, I really wish I had not been detained in medical so blasted long. This subject should have been discussed. he then sent a telepathic message to Hanako out of urgency. "Taisa, one of the Gartargens is requesting permission to come onto the ship. Is this acceptable to you provided any that do are escorted?"

"Hello, I am Jalen Sune the Executive Officer of the Eucharis? What might your name be?" He asked while waiting for Hanako's reply.

Nathaniel had rushed towards the cabin to get his dress uniform when he was checked up. It only took him a few seconds to change his clothes and he donned the coat and the cap while moving down towards the cargo bay.

He managed to arrive just the same officer that examined him. The Gartagens on the other side of the ramp made him question why they even bothered, the military woman looked like a rookie, the older officer looked like somebody he would pull out of a home for elderly people and the other two, He had a feeling those two might be civilians, but even if they where he wondered what kind of slums they where pulled out of. Are they even taken us seriously? He thought to himself, trying to figure out why they would send such people to meet with them.

He kept quiet, and tried to get a good impression who might be the best suited for any questions he had.

Tarsk watched on taking note that what Gian had mentioned about the Yamatians. He had a feeling that the Nepleslians may have exaggerated, and this was due to past experience between the two nations. Tarsk looked around and studied each Neko and Yamataian as they appeared and saw them for what they were. These people were proud warriors, bravely defending their home land from perceived threats. Regardless of what had been said by others, the leader had instructed all of his operatives to take the high ground, and form their own opinions of the Yamatians. So far Tarsk was quite taken with them.

Tarsk approached Nathaniel, taking out a small data pad from his robes and fiddling with it. “Hello.” He said in his native language. “I am Operative Tarsk.” He said bowing politely. “You look as though you have a few questions….as you can imagine I have many about you and your people.”

Solar Commander Di looked up at Sune, and granted him a soft bow. “I am Solar Commander Siichero Tylhar Di, of the Union Solar Navy. I heard much about your people from Commodore Toshiro…I was curious to see what life was like aboard your vessel.” She said shifting her peach colored eyes to look directly into Sunes. She was young for her position, yet Solar Commander Di held a higher rank, and her eyes burned with intelligence and curiosity as she spoke to Sune.

The two civilian Gartagens looked on, but decided to take the initiative, they began rapidly approaching Takeyu and Reika. The Female nodded to her mate, and broke away. Takeyu would see purple skinned young woman wearing a loin cloth around her waist that left her hips and thighs bare. Her breasts were covered with a similar cloth making it apparent that clothing among the civilians was optional, and if it was flamboyant it was mainly to make a statement of occupation then to actually conceal the body. She had long dread like hair that was decorated with beads. She sported a nose ring that had a small gold chain running back to a piercing in her right ear. Her bare skin sported a number of tribal tattoos that matched those of her male counter part. The female bowed and spoke "Good day, I am Council Woman Kasta."

The male who had approached Reika was bare chested, and had blue skin. He had no body piercings, but his tattoos were a spot on match for the purple girl approaching Takeyu. He smiled and spoke with a bow. "Hello! I am Council Man Kasta."

"They may view the ship interior in accordance with the ship SOP on visitors, but we will not discuss the specific operation of any technology to them," Hanako told Sune. Their request to board was not what she had expected. Some of the interiors were still marred with soot.

"Ah, I was hoping you could show me some of your planet," she smiled, gesturing to the nearby palace.

Takeyu observed the two Gartegan civilians, thinking a bit on their clothing and pondering whether they had a custom or if it was just how they dressed. When he heard the woman speak toward him he gave a respectful bow in return.

"My names Jôtô Heisho Nayacesen Takeyu, Technician aboard the YSS Eucharis, it's good to meet you," he said in a calm and business like manner, yet a hint of curiosity could probably be picked out of his tone.

Reika mentally filed away every detail she saw or overheard during the initial exchange. When the two Gartagen civilians present approached herself and Takeyu, Reika's posture straightened and her attention focused upon the Gartagen duo, noting the aspects of their clothing, tattoos, personal ornamentation, features and body langauge. The two seemed to hesitate briefly before seizing the initiative, the male naming himself Councilman Kasta and bowing towards Reika.

Reika returned the gesture with a respectful bow of her own. When her lowered head came back up and her gaze once more met the Gartagen's she responded verbally in a calm voice which belied the nervousness she felt beneath the surface. "I am honored to meet you, Councilman Kasta. My name is Tachihara Reika, My military rank is Santô Hei, and I am a member of the Star Army's information gathering division. I look forward to speaking to you about your people."

"I will attend to the tour with the Solar Commander Taisa, then I will seek out some of their scientists and doctors." Sune sent back to Hanako.

Sune smiled at the Gartagen, "Well Solar Commander Siichero Tylhar Di, I was planning on meeting with some of your representatives to discuss science and medicine. However, I am more than willing to give you a brief tour of the Eucharis.

Please understand that as a Warship many of our sections are restricted and will not be part of the tour. However, since you said you wish to see what life is like, those sections are available.

Before we begin, do I have one question. How well do Gartagens handle Zero-gravity? A number of the passages we must pass through are kept in that state."

Hanako

Tam looked up at Hanako as the pair began walking. “Of course!” He said smiling brightly. “I can show you around the palace, and if you are interested in seeing the actual populace and city, I can have an escort assembled to take us to the Bazaar, or even for a walk in the streets.” Tam then pointed out the palace. “This Palace is the seat of the government and is one of the oldest structures on our home world. Carbon dating and scientific studies indicate that the original structure of the palace was constructed over 2,000 years ago by a Pygrin city state. Pygrins are an ethnic group of Gartagens native to this region of our world.” As the pair drew closer the massive stone doors would slowly open, allowing Hanako and Tam to step through.

Takeyu

The council woman locked eyes with Takeyu. “I am for all intents and purposes a civilian, but due to my bonding with my mate, I hold the rank of Council Woman along side of him.” She said calmly. “When we heard that you were coming to visit our world me and my mate leapt at the chance to meet you. I am also here to answer any questions you may have about my race and world.” She said in a cheery voice.

Reika

Council man Kasta beckoned Reika to walk with him “It is a great honor indeed.” He said calmly “I used to be a scientist, but my speaking skills saw me placed on the council of advisers, so I hope to answer any questions or provide you with any information you need. As an intelligence operative, I assume information is your primary concern. So lets cut to the chase, what is it you would like to know Reika Hei?” Kasta had obviously reading up on the Star Army’s military culture, because he assumed this was the polite way to address Reika.

Sune

Solar Commander Di stepped into the cargo bay. “We are trained extensively in zero G movement, because you never known when a vital system will fail and you have to push yourself from bulkhead to bulkhead.” She said looking up at the man. Di would then follow behind Sune and start inspecting the ship. “As far as some certain items being restricted…you are in the middle of a war, information on defenses should be highly guarded. As a military officer of the Gartagen Union, I wished to see how my Yamatain counterparts lived in space. I should also note that while I am not officially a scientist, I did receive a higher education, so I may be able to answer any questions you have, and if not I can certainly find you scientist or doctor who can”

Ramiro walked up next to Sune. "If you would prefer, I can escort her around the ship while you find somebody with a more science-based knowledge to interact with. She would be the best person for me to communicate with anyways regarding technology and equipment, so the arrangement would make more sense."

Sune turned to Ramiro and sent a telepathic message to his friends communicator.
Code:
"The Taisa said they may view the ship interior in accordance with the ship SOP on visitors, but do not discuss the specific operation of any technology."
"Well, Solar Commander Di, in light of my friend's willingness to show you around. I will leave you in the capable hands of one of our senior pilots. Valencia Ramiro-Nitô Heisho. If you could kindly point out one of your personnel with whom I can discuss either medical or science aspects of your culture I will take my leave." Sune said with a bow.

Takeyu glanced at the council woman, thinking a bit on what she had just stated and pondering a few things. He looked beyond the council woman then off to his side before asking. "Is there any place we can go to talk?"

“That all sounds wonderful,” Hanako told Tam, with a warm smile. She turned and gestured towards another Nekovalkyrja who was trailing along and scanning things with a science scanner. “This is Blueberry. I have asked her to follow along. Our ship has a policy that states that away team members should avoid being alone, for safety reasons.”

Blueberry bowed politely to Tam.

“How far back does the Gartagen government run?” Hanako asked, stepping past the stone doorway. “Is it as old as this palace?”

Armundos eyes scanned the aliens as they came aboard and dispersed amoungst the officers and specialized personel in the cargo bay. He looked up towards where the Taisa had gone with her escort. His ruby red eyes seemed to spasm as his pupils dilated to the size of peppercorn. His vision zoomed in on the Taisa and the Shoi she was with, watching them move farther and farther away. He watched them for a moment before his eyes returned to normal .

He felt out of place, mainly because he had no idea what he was supposed to do in the first place. He was only Yamatain legally. He had only lived on Yamatai for two years, plus his time in training. He could not offer any comprehensive insight into the Yamatain lifestyle. The large Nepleslian turned and, with as much subtlety as he could muster being the only six foot four Nepleslian aboard. He had lunch to prepare for after all and he wanted to make it something good to make up for his lackluster performance that morning. He could not help but wonder if their guests would be joining them for lunch.

Ramiro and Sune

Di returned the Bow. “It is a shame we will not get to speak more, but understandable. If you follow that path, which will take you into the Palace, more of my people are waiting in the lobby area, many of them are doctors, scientists, and curious members of the Government.”
Solar Commander Di then turned and bowed slightly to Ramiro. “I am looking forward to a tour of your ship, and I can indeed answer anything you want to know about technology and equipment in use. I can not disclose certain technologies for defensive purposes, but I will fill you in as I well as I can.”

Takeyu

The Council woman looked around the small space port, and noticed the ancient Imperial rock garden’s entrance was only 100 meters away. “If you will follow me.” She said gesturing with a clawed hand. As she walked with Takeyu she started speaking “Do you have a family? A mate?”

Hanako

“That is a good policy to have, in my opinion. It would ensure that your crew is present to watch out for each other in the event of the unforeseeable happening.” Tam said as he handed blueberry a small bow. At Hanako’s question tam let out a laugh. “No no, I am sure they would like us to believe that they are as old as this palace. No the Gartagen Union formed nearly 1,000 years ago in the eastern regions of our world. Back then they did not dominate the planet, merely a small nation. Eventually they grew in strength, and began conquering their neighbors, until they were one of our world’s super powers. They eventually established Global Domination about 200-250 years ago.”

“The Union taking power in the end proved to be a good thing, we lost a lot of freedom, but we are slowly getting those freedoms back, but we gained a unified world nation. Of course once we realized that we had nearly exhausted our planets resources to get the world nation, the Union dedicated the bulk of its assets to entering space. Now here I am face to face with an alien; I suppose the Union has done something right.”

Nathaniel made a quick and small bow to Tarsk, he still dint trust the Gartagen’s, but he figured it was in the Yamatai’s best interest to keep the talks going, and not messing them up. He did wonder why Tarsk seemed to know that he wanted to ask questions. Did his facial language betray him, or was it something else? He couldn’t put his finger on it, and figured that Tarsk must have read his facial expressions correctly.

Even my people? He thought to himself, wondering how much the Gartagen’s had been told about the Elysian people. Clearly not that much, as they would have known that an elysian wouldn’t accept something as saying the people with the rags where very important to their society, without some form of proof.. He straightened his back, forcing his chest a bit more forward. “Yes, I do have some questions, but seeing as I am here as a guest on your ground, I’ll allow you to ask the questions first. As you might have noticed I am not from the same species as the Yamatai personnel here. I am a Elysian, and before you ask, no, our wings are not just decorations.” He spoke in a calm an respectful tone, while keeping tabs on it fact that he shouldn’t give them too much information.

He hoped the Gartagen wasn’t about to ask him to give a show with the wings, he wasn’t here to give a show about Elysian wingspan, nor did he want to attempt and fly due to the increased gravity on the planet. Gliding wouldn’t be that difficult, but he doubted he would be able to generate enough lift to counteract the additional weight of his body in order to fly.

Landing Site

Yaichiro pondered the situation, watching people pair off, and moved to stand near Reika after trying to decide where he was most effective.

"...I am Kage Yaichiro-Chusa, and ask if it is alright to accompany you two in discussion. Each of us has an area which we are to observe and ask questions about, and the areas of History and Government seem to tie together a fair bit...assuming you are willing to answer such questions. We can try to answer some of your questions as well."

Palace

When Toshiro saw Hanako present, his suspicions were confirmed. It was as if Hanako was assigned as his personal First Contact...contact. He noticed that she had let her hair grow out, but it was still unmistakably the same woman.

"Nice to see you again, Ketsurui-Taisa-Hime. I believe it's been about three years now... Did your ship arrive uneventfully?" This particular question was asked in light of what happened at the Azorean homeworld, when a stealthed Nepleslian ship tried to sneak in behind the Eucharis and got shot out of the sky during their previous First Contact scenario. While there was no rudeness or anything, it seemed that Toshiro thought that to be regular fare for the Captain and her crew -- which would not be far from the truth.

Toshiro had retrieved and put on his jacket when the hot day was replaced by the cool night; and looked much like he had the previous two contacts, except perhaps a bit taller. Venturing into his early twenties had done little to his face, though the green and white Ironman Salvage Power Armor walking beside him was certainly a bit out of place.

Ramiro smiled at the Gartagen. "That is more than understandable, as it will be the same upon this ship. If you please, right this way." Ramiro began walking towards the front of the ship and pointing out certain areas as he did. "Now, we are currently on the 5th deck of the YSS Eucharis. The decks are arranged 1 through 6, starting at the top and working their way down. While I show you around the ship I will be starting from the bottom and working my way up. Below us is Deck 6, which consists of landing gears and miscellaneous systems, so for protocol reasons we will not be going down there. On this deck you will find the vehicle storage area, which you entered through, the cargo bay, which you are currently in, and the fabrication area. The Eucharis, along with all ships of its class, have the ability to manufacture most types of items right here on the ship." Ramiro stopped just before the Zero-Gravity passageway and turned around to look at his guest. "Any questions so far? Also, I apologize for the scent of seawater, it seems that the ship encountered an entanglement recently and we have not had time to fully clean the ship, I'm sure much to the Taisa's embarrassment."

Junko had stood, generally milling about in the Cargo Bay in the vicinity Takeyu and the Gartagen he was speaking with. No one had approached her, and in turn she hadn’t cared to approach anyone herself. Instead, she had contented herself with observing the characteristics of the atmosphere that now filled the bay and that was visible outside. For a brief moment the technician in her had kicked in, wondering how much they would need to adjust the environmental systems to decontaminate the atmosphere aboard the ship once they returned to orbit. She quickly reminded herself that her mission here was quite different and so set about trying to think like a scientist and to examine her surroundings in that light.

She hadn’t made too much progress before the Gartagen speaking with her fellow engineer began to move. Staying a few meters behind, she began to move, tagging along.

Takeyu a subtle nod of the head and followed the council woman, when he heard her question he was slightly taken back, not expecting something like that to be asked but figuring it was more out of curiousity. "I do not, not yet anyway," he said simply and in a neutrla tone.

"I fear that if I was to find a mate," he figured using the term 'women' probably wasn't a good idea, "I could cause her to much worry since I'm always in harms way," he glanced about the area, taking in what he was seeing but also cataloguing it in his digital brain for later review.

Eucharis

Sune have the Solar Commander a bow, and walked to the end of the ramp. He sent a message to Pineapple requesting her presence. Once the green haired Nekovalkyjra arrived, he asked her to accompany him while he went to visit the Gatargens. He then set off towards the palace following the path Di had indicated.

As he walked he was running his Ke-G1-1a Science scanner in atmospheric mode to determine what risks if any the pollution in the air poised for the crew.

Palace
Once they entered the lobby he approached one of the Gatargens. "Hello, I am Jalen Sune-Chui of the Eucharis, I am here to speak with some of your healers. Can you tell me where I might find them?"
