Ramiro saw the turret of the tank point towards him and was ready when he saw the tank fire. His arms flew in front of him as he activated his forearm shields. Once the round rebounded off of his shields he rolled to the side to change positions, popped his head up, and began firing upon the incoming parasites.

Takeyu scowled as he watched the Ripper rush him, he sidestepped the attempt, bringing up his forearm shield before engaging the Aetheric Blade on his rifle. At the same time, his drones flew out of their housing and headed straight for the Shosho, their tiny little beams opened fire on the Ripper while one drone went straight for the helmet to distract the pilot.

Then, in a one quick fluid motion, he swung the atheric blade straight for the Ripper's chest.

There were times to take firm action, and times to be tactful. Missiles were one thing to Helen, they were able to be plucked out of the sky with ease, tanks and Rippers however were another story. She knew she could join in the melee, or, she could make herself useful in another capacity. She decided on the latter, as she opened up a communication line.

Shosa Helen Klein said:
Shosa Helen Klein to friendly ships in orbit, requesting statements of availability for fire support versus ground targets, prefer capability of accuracy within fifty meters without high probability of collateral damage or friendly fire.

"Shosho, Taii, if fire support is available, request permission to spot for and call down fire from orbit upon the advancing enemy." Helen spoke through the communication line between their armors. While she made her request of those above her in the chain of command, she moved quietly on foot to avoid detection due to CFS output as she made a move to attempt to get to the enemy's flank. She was not about to butt heads with the spearhead of their formation, Helen wanted to get at the unarmored NMX infantry, while possibly being able to get to the rear portion of their tank formation.

Sune took aim at the Ripper that was near Hanako. He had a clear shot so he took it firing his beam weapon at it aiming for center mass. No sense wasting a head shot on something that had no true head.

"Go for it Klein-Shosa, we need any extra fire power or this engagement is going to be short."

When the missiles came down Nathaniel hunkered down in a small but deep crater. Due to the fact he wanted to guard several defenders from the onslaught he had moved further up the lines. He still didn’t understand what he was thinking at that moment. If the friendly units did not appear when they did he wouldn’t be here anymore.
When the remaining missiles came down they blew up several walls near his location causing a large amount of rubble to fall down on top of him. Sheer luck made a large portion collapse on top of the hole, covering it completely.

The unit didn’t appear to have any damage, however a quick diagnosis told him that there was some damage on the wing binders, the good part of it, was that the only problem with them would be the fact that his own wings would be the only force that moved them, making them more of a burden then before.

He pushed the large piece of rubble away by using every bit of force the unit could muster. The sight he noticed was something that terrified him. Due to the fact he waited a bit before crawling out, the enemy had moved on towards the defense line. He noticed he was one of the furthest units out at this point. Great, I survive that just to die here? The computer did not register any hostile targeting at this point. I’m one hell of a target now… He quickly opened the two pulse generators on the binders in case the enemy decided a second volley would be the best thing to do.

The computer immediately noted him about the presence of infantry and possible parasites. A slight grin appeared when he hailed Hanako “Shosho, what is the status of the friendly infantry on the field? These pulse generators I carry should be powerful enough to deal with the infantry without any real problems. However, I have to be sure I am not killing of our own friends with this.” Nathaniel dashed away when he was talking, he dashed back and forth between the cover, and kept a low as possible profile. The enemy was sure to detect his presence, but he hoped they would divert the infantry towards his location and not the heavier weapons.Either way, this is gonna be a massacre...

A pair of Plumeria Gunships from the First Expeditionary Fleet broke off from the "turkey hunt" and began descending into the atmosphere, raining down fire on the NMX vehicles and mecha trying to push into Kyoto. From the ground the team could see glowing gold bolts slamming into the enemy forces from above. Additionally, more starfighters were joining the defense, doing strafing runs and picking off targets that Helen and another ground troops picked out. The NMX forces seemed to be losing their momentum.

Akemi and Sune were able to get the Rippers off Hanako, who, once free, pulled her NSP and began stunning NMX Nekos that were trying to rush into the city, while her point defense weapons gunned down parasites.

Sune redeployed his point point defense and NSD's to parasite hunting. He fired a spread of of SLEX grenades from his gun, to engulf a swarm of parasites and smiled as they were incinerated.

Akemi set her drones to target parasites to mimic Hanako. She stayed close by her and slashed at any nearby Rippers. If no enemies came her way she would switch her forearm weapons back to beam mode and shoot at the closest large targets until any hostile combatants closed with her. If that happened she would go back to her blades. "I don't know how useful I will be, but I will do my best to guard you unless you wish otherwise Shôshô."

Seeing the number of Rippers around him, Takeyu abandoned his attempt and backed off a good distance, then unleashed a series of missiles onto the Rippers before backing off toward Hanako, all the while swerving through the group of Rippers.

When he got to Hanako he spun around on his heels and, while firing on the Rippers he had just passed, said. "My apology for being late Shosho." He then engaged his forearm shield and presented it in a way to make it easier for him to respond to any attacks made against the Shosho.

After the go-ahead was given, and she had called down assistance along with the others which were painting targets, Helen decided it was time to take advantage when the fire support moved on from her area of the confrontation. She had marked the front and rear portions of their vehicle lines, to create a death trap for the infantry, and with the attack runs over, she had little to worry about from them as she prepared to move in. She was no where near as kind as Hanako, she skipped stunning the NMX Nekovalkryja, she went right for the throat. Rising to a proper vantage point, Helen confirmed her shoulder-cannon payload as aether-tap slugs, before she unleashed a series of well placed shots within the bogged down infantry, and at what targets of opportunity she had in regard to vehicles which were still active.

Once she was done peppering the enemy with her shoulder cannon, she brought her aether Gatling to bear once more in one hand, as she hovered onward. Bolts of aetheric energy lanced out from the Gatling, as she proceeded to sweep the area ahead of her with Gatling fire, as she brought up her free arm, setting her forearm projector to SMG mode. Priority targets were those which were standing or in a supported firing position, followed by those fallen prone, topped off by those which were running the other way, though, the utmost priority was the occasional pair of eyes set in her direction, those were the most threatening targets.

When the enemy looked in her direction, Helen was quick to shoot at them, in hopes of keeping them from coordinating fire, or deploying a lucky shot from an infantry weapon. She used target recognition programming within her AIES to pick out when a pair of eyes were set in her direction. Of course, she would take the time to identify the uniform of her targets, while also comparing to the PANTHEON records of the faces of those deployed by the Star Army, that was the messy thing about infantry confrontations, having to check targets prior to firing, especially when the combatants both came out of the same vats.

Reika mentally swore as the NMX Rippers and parasites surged forward towards the defense line -- at such close ranges she had little recourse but to disengage her AIES link to her service rifles scope and concentrate on the mass of enemies now far too close for comfort. Lightning flashed in the distance, followed briefly by the boom of thunder. The natural sounds of the storm were all but drowned out by the gunfire, explosions and cries of the fallen.

The pulse energy weapons built into her Daisy's forearms swiveled on their mounts as they attempted to track fast moving parasites and pick them off as instructed by her suits AIES. Her tactical drones hovered close by, also attempting to take out parasites and intercept munitions with their lasers before the small, deadly targets managed to collide with any soldiers. Through it all, Reika fired off the armor-piercing bullets of her LASR in three round bursts -- aiming towards one of the Rippers that Takeyu had just passed when on his way to regroup with Hanako.

The remaining Rippers were getting gunned down by the Eucharis crew and more Legion forces converging on the area. Reika's target fell into the mud with a splash. Meanwhile, large and bright explosions appeared in the battlefield as Helen detonated aether slugs, leaving mushroom clouds and smoking craters.

Sune and the others' attempts to kill the parasite swarms were quite successful.

"Thank you," Hanako told Takeyu and Akemi as they came to her defense.

The NMX forces at this particular battle by now were largely wiped out; those remaining were mostly stragglers and they were attempting to conduct and organized retreat away from the city. A few of the isolated NMX nekos attempted to surrender, seeing it as their only chance of survival.

Akemi recalled her drones, but did not put them away. Instead, she set them to attack anyone that took aim at them. She continued to stay alert and carefully surveyed the area for any possible threats to her commander's safety.

Letting out a sigh of relief, Takeyu began to survey the carnage left by both themselves and their fellow soldiers. His drones continued to move about the area, set on a new order to search for survivors, both friendly and enemy, and report the status back to him and the squad.

His drones zipped across the land, moving over destroyed tanks and the bodies of fallen NMX, the drones went about their search.

Takeyu kept his rifle up, ready to fire in case any enemy soldier attempted to take a shoot at them. "Your orders, Shosho?" asked Takeyu as he continued to survey the area, in the back of his mind, he had a feeling it would take a long while before the land would return to normal...

When the battle began to die down, Helen found herself with very few targets, and once they began to surrender, she pulled her NSP from the exterior holster of her Kylie, and began to pick off the blatantly surrendering, and those which were straggling, with beams set to stun. She did not feel like attending a court martial, there were too many friendlies watching for her to do what she really wanted... which would have involved a bloodbath.

"Shosa Helen Klein to Shosho Hanako, the enemy offensive has been contained. Request instructions in regard to prisoners." Helen spoke, as she began to pick up the stunned NMX, tossing them into a heap mud coated khaki. It was hardly elegant, but she wanted to be able to keep track of them once stunned. Near the growing pile of POWs, she set one of her remote drones to hover as a sentry to watch, and make sure none of those which would wake up would consider running off.

Sune secured his firearm and walked over to Hanako, still scanning the area for possible hostiles. He also made a mental note of the number of NMX that were surrendering.

"Ma'am, I would suggest we leave the gathering of prisoners to the Legion. There are too many for our group to police and keep contained. The Legion is better equipped for it, they can safely disarm the enemy and load them into transports. We should make our way to Headquarters. Since the fighting here seems to be over mostly."

"Let the Legion handle them, although it is alright to take one or two favorites," Hanako told Helen.

Hanako then collected some more NMX hats and militaria as she surveyed the battlefield, before waving her crew towards the shuttles. She sloshed through the puddles back to the craft and waited for everyone left to gather up. Above it was still dark. By now it was getting even colder and the rain was nearly freezing. Along with the heavy rain, chunks of starships and Hoshi no Iori continued to fall from the sky and hit the earth with sprays of dirt in various sizes. At any given time hundreds of escape pods were visible on the power armor sensors as more ships were destroyed.

Inside the shuttle, Hanako removed her helmet, letting her teal hair fall on her battle-scarred armor and stopped to take a breath of the cold, wet air as she considered where to go next.

Takeyu followed the Shosho close behind, his weapon pointing 'downrange' for safety purposes. He kept on eye out for movement, though his eyes caught a glimpse of several pods in the distance along with pieces of Hoshi no Iori.

When he got to the shuttle he held onto the inside of the cabin with his left hand, while holding onto his rifle with his right. He was still keeping an eye on the area, surveying for any possible hostiles, all but one of his drones had returned to the hangers and were now recharging.

Akemi likewise stuck close to Hanako and kept her eyes peeled for any threats on her way to the shuttle and while inside it. Seeing that Takeyu was still keeping one of his drones deployed, she decided to do the same.

Sune made his way over to the shuttle, keeping his surviving NSD's active. He looked at the sky as debris from the battle above streaked towards the ground in blazing hot chunks. He noted that most of these were relatively small, but with the size of the Hoshi no Iori, there would be larger chunks that would hit with devastating effect.

He stood at the rear of the shuttle looking out while waiting for the last of the crew to board.
