Re: [Mission 19.3]

Cabin 4

"Hear that Mitsuko? You're losing out to a set of power armor. Better step up your game if you want her to stay here with you." Bors chuckled. "Speaking of plastered, If it wasn't mid day I'd say this conversation calls for drinks."

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Cabin 4

Mitsuko swiveled her chair away from the others, still blushing as they teased her. "I don't like the Mindys...I try to avoid them." She shook her head. At the mention of drinks, she glanced over. "I might have something in the fridge...?" Murakami gestured to the mini fridge near the door. "Oh...and we left sandwiches in the Wardroom, if you're hungry..."

Bridge

Chieko noticed the text replies and sighed, wanting to ask more questions related to the recording or the life down there, but feeling she may have stepped across enough bounds as it is. This left the scientist looking back over at Sune to see if he was still checking on the signals then over at the door when her stomach growled some. The green panelled Minkan sighed again, pretty sure she would need permission to leave the bridge if she wanted to eat something.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

New Crew Transfer Shuttle

The trip had been long, though Ayumi had enjoyed it. Her excitement to start a new job was well contained within a calm and relaxed exterior. A violet gaze set upon the door to the shuttle and she pushed a piece of black hair behind her ear. Patiently she waited for the docking procedure as her mind ran wild with thoughts of what this ship would be like. What would the crew be like? What would the interior be like?

Of course she'd been debriefed already about the basic outline of the ship, but getting to see the actual ship and the various touches that only having a living crew could have interested her. As long as they were friendly people Ayumi would be just fine, she hoped.

As the shuttle pulled up along side the Eucharis Ayumi felt a trill of excitement.

Cabin 4

"Thanks for the offer but I think I can hold off till lunch, plus I got my own stash we wouldn't have to break into yours... for a few rounds at least haha." Taking up Misato's earlier offer Bors plopped himself down at the foot of her bed and leaned back so he was resting on the back wall.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Cabin #4

"I would have a drink, hell i could use one, but I'm already in enough hot water as it is. Plus Bors I have like bottle of something around here, latter after we are all off shift we should all come in here and get plowed!"

Misato reached over and spun Mimi-chan back around, "Why do you not like the MINDYs? The kept you safe today didn't they, far better then they did for me, I think they like you better." She felt like she should say something more encouraging but she herself didn't feel encouraged about the day.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Cabin 4

"Sounds like a date to me then." Bors said making himself a bit more comfortable. "I'll bring some stuff by after were done with shift. I hope you don't mind to much Mitsuko, you welcome to join us seeing as were gonna be right here haha."

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Sune sent a series of commands into the console. He then had Charisma relay them to the Squadron. Using the other ships sensors would increase their resolution. It should give them a little more accuracy and more data to analyze prior to arrival.

He turned to Chieko, "Once the other ships conduct their scans and relay the data, repeat your analysis." he said and returned to his station.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Bridge Area

Hanako left the bridge and went over to the docking port that was nearby and did a little bow to Ayumi. "Hello! II am Shosho Hanako. Please come on the to ship's bridge to report for duty," she told Ayumi before returning to the bridge. Nearby, Ayumi could also see the main zero-gravity passageway that ran from the top to the bottom of the ship. Most of the ship's interior walls were white with white cushions on them and the main passage red hand straps for non-flight-capable species like humans to pull themselves around on.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Bridge

Izokia looked back over her squad all lined in body bags before the shuttle took off. She looked down at the sword her creator had given his oldest creation, she gripped the katana with grey skinned fist "This will be the last time I fail my team" she stated loud enough for only her to hear.

Now several year after her enlistment contract she spent time honing both her sword craft and medical knowledge and now she was ready to reenlist in Star Army. She saw her new body being formed and requested one small tattoo at the base of the neck to act as a sort of memorial for her fallen squad. the same day she received her approval notice she would be transferred to the Eucharis effective immediately.

Izokia pulled herself out of the mental backup chair and immediately threw up that sandwich "well that was awful I am never doing without pain killers again. One experiment half way completed least that's something" she stumbled through the med lab and fell out into the passageways slowly regaining her balance.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Cabin 4

Mitsuko squeaked as her chair was spun around, facing Misato again. She looked down, towards her lap. "...I don't want to talk about the Mindys anymore. Please." It took her a few breaths to relax, peeking past her roommate at Riko. "Um...as long as you don't get too rowdy. I just cleaned up. Again."

She slowly smiled. "I have some frozen margarita mix..."

Re: [Mission 19.3]

"Understood," Chieko replied, making her way back to the Sensor Station. "And thank-you for enlisting help for data gathering," she bowed, "I will need to keep such tactics in mind in the future." The scientist then took her seat and setup taking surface pictures of HX-12 II, looking for anything moving or growing down there.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Docking Bay

As Ayumi set foot onto the ship, and the Shosho came into view her mind automatically went from excitement to duty mode. She dropped her duffle at her side, returning Hanako's bow with a much deeper one, before straightening and throwing in a salute for good measure.

"Right away, Shosho." She replied, her voice even. As the Shosho turned her back to Ayumi she reached down to pick up her duffle, slinging it over her shoulder and following after Hanako in the direction of the bridge.

As she stepped on to the bridge she pulled her heels together, causing them to make a sharp clicking sound. "Santo-hei Satonaka Ayumi, medic, reporting for duty." She pulled her hand up in a second salute.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Bridge

As Ayumi and Izokia came onto the bridge and saluted, Hanako returned the salutes. "Santô Hei Satonaka Ayumi, welcome to the Eucharis. You and Santô Hei Orshira Izokia, who had also just arrived, are going to be the ship's medics. I am pleased to meet you. I will give you your interview in a short while. In the meantime, please leave your things in the crew lounge and familiarize yourself with the medical lab. Victory, one of our supply specialists, is already bringing your power armor suit to the armor bay."

Turning to Chieko and Sune, Hanako said, "I think we are going to use the coordinates you find most interesting as a space fold destination once the other team gets back aboard. If we encounter something dangerous or too sensitive, we will disengage."

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Bridge

Izokia walked to the still open door of the bridge with every intention of stopping but her still confused mind had other plans. She stumbled through the door into Hanako "Shosho my apologies." She snapped into a hasty salute, terror forming on her face. "I was going to ask permission to come aboard the bridge but I'm still a bit shaken from my backup. I'm very sorry I just was coming to ask about my room situation." Izokia paused and turned her head over to the new Neko who was following close behind Izokia's face some how growing more embarrassed.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Bridge

Chieko was checking out surface photos for shadows and odd non-geophysical bumps when Hanako made her next suggestion. A slow smile then crept across the scientist's face as she registered what was being asked, "Let's do it!" She then moved the pictures out of the way and started bringing up spectral, infrared, and gravimetric analysis of the area where the subspace signals had come from

The academic wanted to look for non-giant stars as possible hosts to inhabited planets while waiting for the observations from the rest of the squadron. Once she had a more detailed picture, Chieko would then overlay the improved subspace information on a star map of the area which ought to give the best contextual information to choose co-ordinates from. The young Minkan nearly started bouncing at the thought as she worked at building the map.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

"Chusa Jalen Sune, my First Officer, will take care of the sleeping arrangements," Hanako told Chieko. She looked towards the brown-haired officer. "Please see if you can arrange something where the night shift shares beds with the day shift. You are also welcome to move into my suite if you would like," she opportunistically added with the tiniest smile.

Sensor readings were too vague at this distance to really make much out, but they were certainly indicative of advanced technology.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Bridge

Ayumi dropped her salute once Hanako had spoken and bowed once again, "Then I'll do that exactly, thank you Shosho." She said lightly, offering the slightest look of interest towards Izokia, before turning her back and heading back into the hallway.

She paid a brief visit to the crew lounge, setting her duffel down in a place farther from anyone elses things so as not to get in the way. She looked quickly around, taking in her surroundings in a way she had not dared on the bridge.

After she finished her brief self-tour of the lounge she headed off to the medical lab. It was here she truly wanted to be, amongst the sounds and sights and smells of a proper medical lab. She took to familiarising herself to the cupboards and supplies.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Med Lab

Izokia still bitter about her foolishness in front of several superiors decided to clear her head by doing some work around the med lab. She saw Ayumi already in there studying each inch of storage space available. Izokia nervous about the other new member and how she would react to her after the impression she made back on the bridge. Nervously she spoke "Sorry to intrude I heard we had an away team out there so I just was going to get things ready if any of them needed attention". As if to punctuate this she moved her notes on the experience with a painkiller free mental back up off of an operating table. "By the way I'm Izokia-Hei... the other medic" She touched her tattoo on reflex as Ayumi's blank facial expression did nothing but unnerve Izokia further and actually cause her to impulsively step back towards one of the Hemosynthesis tubes.

Re: [Mission 19.3]

Receiving the new information from the rest of the signal sweeps, Chieko decided to go with her idea of just picking stars within the area that the most high-tech signals came from. She then started querying information on the other stars that the Empire's habitable worlds existed around and worked with that information to pick target stars in the tech active region. Finally the Minkan scientist worked out an average range of star types that landed between F5V and K8V after also considering how long a star could live compared to what she knew about biological evolution.

Using this information the academic started picking such stars from the noisy region, prioritizing the closest to the centre highest, then working her way out to where the signals drop off. Chieko then picked the ten highest graded stars with visible spectral evidence of elements heavier than Helium and gave a sigh, hoping that would end up helpful. In the end this process would take her at least an hour and a half to complete before asking Sune to have another look.
