Jax, for the most part, was glad that he hadn't been drop kicked so far. The first clue he had that something was off what when Tsuguka disturbed the sand when she sat. The second clue what when she called him her "blonde little cat boy". If it were a hallucination, she would have never been so expressive, and... flirty?! Wow. He didn't know whether to be turned on or terrified at that point. Fact was, hallucinations of people were based entirely off of your personal impression of them. Tsuguka was clearly shattering his perceptions of her.
"...You... aren't a hallucination... are you...?" he winced quietly, becoming rather embarrassed at having essentially revealed his deepest fantasy to the subject of that fantasy. It was more of a statement than a question. For a few moments, he looked stunned, before rubbing his face in his hands and giggling. Just his luck. On the bright side, his own head hadn't been kicked off yet.
But Tugs had brought up a very valid question: Did he want this? He gazed into Tugs' eyes for a few moments. His... attraction to Tsuguka wasn't like a normal boy/girl relationship in the slightest. She was definitely pleasing on the eyes, but he thought of it in the same way as one might view a tiger. Beautiful, and full of quiet depths that would be an adventure to delve into. Jax knew that she had emotions, contrary to popular belief, and that it would be fun to help her explore those emotions. But make the tiger feel uncomfortable, or pet the wrong spot, and it would maul him. It was dangerous and unfamiliar territory, but it was that danger that drew him.
Like right now. He gingerly placed his hand over hers, ready to pull back just in case he'd come on too strong. He knew she wasn't the best with emotions, so he would tread carefully, and test his boundaries before doing anything drastic.
"I do," he said, never breaking eye contact. "But, if you want to give it a shot, we should probably take things slow in the beginning. We'd both be stepping far out of our comfort zones. Then, from there, we just... go where the current takes us."
His face twisted into a look of annoyance.
"First, I need to come down from this high, and shower, and find the rest of my clothes." he grumbled, his ears flattening sideways and his tail giving an irritated flick.
