Asine tumbled his way out of the shuttle as soon as it landed (however loosely that term applied to what they'd just done). He put his back up against a tree and looked around as best he could, trying to see whatever it was that had taken them down. "Everyone okay?"

Arkase would be the last out. He needed to make sure everyone made it out. The hapless Heisho's first move was to grab Kyoka and unceremoniously drag her out -- whether she needed it or not.

"Secure the perimeter!" He barked quickly before running back in for Shina.

Kyoka, stunned by the crash, was slow to react and thus was yanked out of the crashed shuttle by Arkase. Finally realizing the situation at hand and the orders that followed, she took up a kneeling position ten yards away from the back of the shuttle, examining her surroundings for any sign of hostile movement.

Kim donned her helmet immediately after triggering the rear hatch. Smoke started pillowing out of the bulkhead next to her station. She pried it open and checked the interior.

She looked at Arkase when he came into the cockpit. "I'm already Heisho, some sort of energy pulse hit the shuttle on final." She said pointing towards the smoking components. "It blew out the main power bus which is why we dropped like a stone. I believe I can repair the damage, but it will take me some time to do so. I will have to cannibalize parts from the rear compartment to make the repairs."

Kame woke up blurry and with a sharp pain in her head as she faintly heard the phrase "secure the perimeter". As she shook her head and immediately recalled the previous events. After hearing the powerful failure, she remembered and jumping from the ship just before Asine-hei and then trying to land her Mindy. Her landing was as successful as it normally was, as she noticed with nauseous eyes the small person-shaped indenture in the ground.

Looking around she saw that Kyoka, Asine, Trowa where providing cover while she saw two Arkase's barking orders then heading over to Kim-san. Going up to the merging double Arkase's she saluted wearily and said, "Everyone seems t-to be OK... Heisho … other than a little head-d-ache here and there. D-did someone say something about-t powerbus? ... Here are some part-ts t-to help the... Kim... r-rig a repair." She handed the over some power armor electrical parts and nanotube power cords. It wouldn't be everything Kim would need but it would give her a good head start.

Then, the engineer then took up a crouched position between Asine and Trowa. She instinctively pulled out her Atromos Particle Beam Rifle, locked, and loaded it without even realizing her poor weapon choice.

She shook her head one more time before Kame took to scanning the horizon. Kame immediately noticed something shiny and slightly wispy a good of couple of kilometers away. She whispered to her companions, "Got-t something very far away at our 2 o'clock, but I cannot-t tell if it’s a dust storm, mirage, smoke, or something poorly cloaked. Later, if one of you guys could spare a moment before we move out and get something for a headache that would be nice."

She also briefly wonder who again was the SSS officer on this little excursion.

"Alright. Don't burn yourself in here." Arkase said, backing out of the shuttle again.

They had crash landed at an unknown location and...

At Kame's alarm, Arkase looked for whatever she had sighted, and shook his head when he couldn't see it. "Where, Hei? I don't see it. Are you alright?"

Josea having been drilled to follow the orders of whoever commanded the Away Team had scrambled out and took shelter near the base of a tree. He checked his AMES to ensure that he maintained a good seal. Really wish someone would prep that armor that the Taisa promised me. He thought.

-------------------------------------

"Oshiro-Heisho, we were on final approach to the SSS landing site. We are west of the ship, I estimate our distance to be about 1.3 kilometers out." Kim said.

Trowa had been scanning the horizon for several minutes and hadn't seen anything. He looked again when Kame spoke up saying she saw something. "O'Kutsuu-Hei, I think you took a rap on the skull, I don't see anything." Trowa moved closer to the engineer and took cover again. He would cover her until she could see clearly.

As his eyes, cybernetic and real, continued to sweep the area Trowa chuckled and said, "Best cure for a headache is a shot of something strong. Anybody have any whisky?"

In the direction that Kame had indicated there was some dissipating dust from their crash. Which revealed a damaged Light Utility Truck that looked like something had hit it and caused it to roll. The most plausible thing being the shuttle had struck it during its slide.

There were a number of birds flying about their calls voicing their irritation at the disturbance that the shuttles arrival had caused.

"As far as I know, it's not exactly regulation to have strong alcohol with you on a mission." Kyoka half-joked, surveying the surroundings as she did so. Her guard stayed up the whole time. After all, dying was not something she wanted to do, mainly because it's mean a loss of all new experiences and knowledge obtained on the way. "So, does that mean we're walking?"

Hearing the squad leader's concern, "Now, don't get all excited, I said it might be just a mirage or something else...."

"...", Hearing Kyoka and Trowa, Kame blushed awkwardly as she thought about drinking alcohol. After the brew tended to bring out the best and the worst in her family, as her ancestor were notorious for.

As Trowa stepped closer Kame version cleared a little bit, though her head still ached. She began to make out a wrecked vehicle with several birds squawking about. They seem to attempting to make a series of colony nests out of vehicle and where upset about the disruption. Their whitish grey heads and razor sharp beaks where swiveling about as if trying to find and determine if the noise before was some kind of new predictor.
"...In fact, your right Trowa... all I see know is just a bunch of local raptors making a home out of a SA jeep that seen better days. Thus, I think it just a false alarm unless our SSS expert knows anything about the local fowl being unfriendly or violent. Personally, I don't think we should poke around and find out. Anyone else want to?"

Asine shrugged. "I'm fine with playing with wildlife, so long as it's not tank-sized wildlife. Well, that or some creepy sneaky wildlife, those things are always a pain." He looked around, keeping an eye out for the aforementioned 'creepy sneaky' things. "Whatever our objective, we should get moving though. I'm pretty sure anything unfriendly knows we're here, after our... slightly unstable landing."

Josea looked around and got his bearing. "Well, are we going to head to the Genus? If we want to find some answers, that seems like the best place to me. If the ship systems are operational, we can access their logs, and if necessary use it to return to orbit later." he offered as he pointed to the ship visible in the distance.

"Well, if that's the plan, then the question is," Kyoka began, turning to the others, "Who is taking point? Arkase-Heisho?"

She kept an at-ease stance at this point.

"Not exactly regulation?" Trowa sounded shocked. "To a Nepleslian it is almost as important as your gun." He chuckled as he added, "Just kidding. No booze.... except for medicinal purposes."

Trowa helped Kyoka to her feet and remained close by incase she felt dizzy again. His eyes never stopped scanning around him, taking in the landscape and mentally marking potential hiding areas.

"Shina-Hei, please see if you can contact the Aeon or any of the Squadron. If you can't, try to fix the communications first so we can get in touch with the Taisa." Arkase sent to the pilot.

He turned to his Away Team.

"Alright. The Genus is a kilometer and change out. We'll try and head directly for it, see if we can link up with the survivors. Josea, you'll need to come with us, however I want Kame-Hei, Trowa-Hei, and Kage-Hei to stay with Shina-Hei while she conducts repairs. Trowa-Hei I'll expect you to report in with me every five minutes." Arkase closed his eyes and thought a moment.

"The rest of you, we'll be leaving in three minutes so rest up and get your shit together."

"Heisho, the shuttle's communications systems are as offline as the others. I will make it a priority on my repairs. However, even if they were operational, we could not contact the Aeon directly. At present its orbit has it on the other side of AX-01. However, you should be able to send data messages to the ship, by routing them through the VCMAD drone above. Its higher altitude will allow it to relay to the OGSP to the Aeon." Kim offered as she started pulling out the tools to start making her repairs.

Josea turned to Arkase, "Not a problem Heisho, that's why I am here. I'm the only one here who has had actual experience aboard a Tansaku, and participated in expedition training. So I will be able to let you know when we get closer if anything is out of norm."

"Aye, aye sir." Trowa said. He turned to Kame and said, "If your vision has cleared give Shina-Hei a hand with the shuttle. Kage-Hei, move to the top of that hill over there." He pointed with his rifle. "You should have a good field of view from there. Let me know if you see anything." Trowa moved to the other side of the ship so he could see what was beyond the ship. He buzzed Mist over the com, "Kage-Hei, let me know when you get in position."

Kyoka nodded and double-checked her equipment. Thankfully, none of it was damaged in the landing and thus she was ready to move on. She approached Arkase and waited for further instruction.

While the others made their last minute checks, Josea stood up and pulled out his communicator. He made several adjustments and frowned. "Oshiro-Heisho, I am unable to access the MEGAMI aboard the Genus. I've tried various access codes and I get nothing except that distress beacon."

Kim meanwhile had routed a status report to the Aeon by way of the VCMAD. She got her reply a minute later. Which she forwarded immediately to Arkase. She then set about to working on the repairs to the shuttle. She started removing the burned out junctions for the power and propulsion systems.
