Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

As Nyton and Asher made their way they would pass by others who had been mulling about or licking their wounds. While walking, Nyton decided to make use of his telepathic abilities and get an idea on how they operated.

"Congratulations Kurohoshi, on not only surviving this round but landing a good blow to Eve. Looks like third time was the charm. Recover as quickly as you can, we're still not out of this yet. I am moving to gather our resources for the impending SMX attack.

"Nakamura, Gunshin, if you need medical attention then get treated quickly. Otherwise I will need you two to work on getting our Armors back up. We still have another battle waiting for us."

"Your Highness, I am gathering up what we have left to meet the impending attack by Melisson. Do you have any special orders you need to convey at this time, Kotori-dono?"

Nyton felt as though he were a living Armor as he multi-tasked his mind to send out messages simultaneously. He was already used to the concept via his cybernetics but his digital mind seemed to streamline it to be effortless.

Upon arrival at the bay the former Nepleslian directed Asher. "Set Telemachus down by the PHALANX pad. As soon as I get suited up I will be better able to help fix your Daisy's arm." he said before communicating with Hoshi again.

"Alright Hoshi, lets get to work. What do we have?

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Thass' cool, but uh, we gunna' take tha' armor off first?" asked Asher as he began to lower Telemachus down by the ordered area, and began unhooking his boarding line. After withdrawing the full length, he stood and turned back to face Nyton. "Amumu tol' me she couldn't or didn' wanna' take tha' armor off when she splint tha' arm." explained Asher as he pointed to the twisted opening in the armor; it showed the exposed flesh, purple and yellow from the bruising and subsequent healing. "I mean, we can try n'pull it off, but we're gunna' have t'be careful wit' tha' rest of my arm."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Yeah, it would be nice to spend some quality time together..."

Tom took his feet as he was peeled out of the webbing. The restorative bath had done wonders for his body, and he had energy like he had just awoken from a long sleep.

Yukari was there. He wanted to take her into his arms, right there in the nude, without a care for what anyone thought. Maybe they could steal some time alone in their quarters...

But the vivid memories of recent events were still in his mind, prodding him. The Miharu was barely flying, people were dead, and there could be more enemies out there this deep in space.

"Shosa..." his mental communication held a tinge of urgency. "We need to plan how to get out of here before reinforcements come. We're in no condition to fight."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

" ... " Yukari kept her gaze on Tom. He deserved that.

"We are not retreating, Tom. We are going to fight Melisson. We are going to end this. And we will live in peace.

"I promise."

The Shosa turned to Azumi. "Ensure the Juni is ready to return to duty, please. He is needed in Engineering." With that, Yukari left and went back to the bridge.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Tom's eyes narrowed. He could feel his teeth clenched so tightly that his jaw ached.

"I'm fine," he snapped at Azumi. "I need an ST backup first. And some clothing. Anyone free to do the job?"

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Nyton looked at the damaged arm and assumed his thinking pose. "Hmmm. I think I can reset the arm but you will need to get reinserted into a suit quickly to heal it. If we do that though you may as well don an entirely new suit. This doesn't look like something we can avoid."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Back at the medlab Ayumu and Sanjuro worked together to quickly begin surgical procedures on Masako. Having moved her to an operating table with some effort, the pair of medics made progress on Sanjuro's directed medical procedure.

Azumi meanwhile bowed to Yukari. "Hai, Shosa." she replied before preparing Tom for removal. The tank finished emptying out and began to open and release the engineer from his harness. "Freeman-Juni, we have a robe you can use for the time being until a uniform arrives. I believe Saito-Heisho is still present and available to so."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Why don't I juss' patch up my Daisy? Iss' only gotta few holes in it, and tha' insert should be fine... despite some of tha' otha' things that were fallin' off of it when I was under a mech's foot." Asher thumbed over to the damaged Daisy unit he had used in the initial assault. Despite being so accommodating to the idea, he really didn't want to abandon the unit he had found so much utility and killing power in. Shikaku was like a puppy to him, an armored, murderous puppy that rode on his shoulders, shooting grappling hooks and plasma at people.

On a tangent note, that thought was very appealing to Asher. What better way to pick up chicks with a puppy, than a puppy that could shoot lasers and grappling hooks? The women would be all over him, was what Asher thought, and this idea got his creative juices chugging.

Then, a moment of zen followed, and Asher's ticker tocked out a somewhat decent idea that didn't involve women, killing, or laser dogs.

"Say, what if we set tha' arm, and I wore tha' old Daisy while I repaired Shikaku's damaged arm? Tha' insert'd heal me, and I'd be workin' on m'armor. I'd also be battle-ready if Mishhu started pourin' outta' tha' wood works, yeah? How 'bout that, boss?" said Asher, hoping dearly that Nyton would go for the idea.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"That makes perfect sense, Westwood-Hei." Nyton replied, nodding approvingly. "Let's get to work."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Sanjuro's recommended procedure with Masako's treatment was, for the most part, a very simple task. Finding an accessible point of entry into the neko's chest cavity was the the difficult part, but once past the shell, Sanjuro was able to easily sink the hypodermic needle in and inject a healthy amount of femtomachine-saturated hemosynthetic fluid, as well as a standard set of anesthetics and numbing agents to dull the pain of the process. Once it was complete, Sanjuro stood back up straight and cleared his work area.

"Just rest there for now, Kurohoshi-Juni," Sanjuro stated flatly as he took a short moment to relax his wrists and work the slight soreness out of the joints; so much work with his hands over such a short amount of time wore on even the most seasoned of digits. "Once your ribs and sternum have begun to set, we will see about removing you from that armor... otherwise the regenerative procedure could work around your point of injury, possibly creating a horrifying and incredibly painful complication. If you need anything else in the meantime, just get one of the nurses."

Ending with that lovely mental image, Sanjuro turned and resumed his rounds, looking over the rest of the injured that were also in the process of recovering.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Kyou sighed, finding a spot out of the way in the hangar bay to sit down. "Asher, I'll just wait for you. I don't have anything..." she looked down at her slightly over-baked body, "major enough to really need medical attention." After all, everything she'd had so far was small enough that the insert of an armor could easily fix it up, and this burn was no exception, regardless of how painful it made life until she got back in an armor. After all, with still another fight coming up, it made no sense to waste what medical supplies they hadn't already used up.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Trying to move as little as possible, the small Neko grimaced as the Doctor and Medic treated her wounds. Not trusting her voice at the moment, Masako merely nodded her affirmation as she lay there and allowed the injections to do there work. There was not much she could do at this point than allow her body to heal enough for them to get her out of Armor.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Major? Heh!" Asher chuckled, disengaging his suit, and prepping it for exit. The Malifarian did not want to rush his departure from Shikaku, as that may end up being extremely painful. Battle numbed pain into a sort of kill-everything drug; regular situation pain was just regular pain. "I kinda' like y'tan. It makes ya look exotic n'sexy. Iss' different from all tha' pale-skin chicks you see around here all tha' time."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Kyou rolled her eyes. "I'll be sure to take that into consideration next time I'm changing my appearance. You gonna hurry up, or keep being a wimp?" She started to hug the jacket tighter to her in response to a chill, but the stopped again, remembering that would hurt intensely.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Keep n'mind that my righ' arm snapped inta' two complete pieces." commented Asher, slowly sliding his arm out of the broken sleeve of armor. "If I hadn' wanted t'maul tha' shit outta' Eve, you would'a learned about two or three new words for y'cussin' vocabulary. F'me, there's only two ways t'alleviate pain n'anger, fightin' n'fuckin."

He grunted, as tendrils of pain stabbed through his nerves like an angry zombie gerbil. His limb slowly slid out of it's broken insert, broken, bent, and purple. With a few breaths he looked back over at Kyou.

"Actually, I'm pretty sure I can do it in otha' ways, but those are just tha' only two I can think of at the moment."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Kyou blinked, and shrugged, not sure how to respond, or whether Asher was aware he'd just listed four things. "Well, it looks fine to me. Stop beatin' 'it' so much and you'll be fine." That said, she stood up, and walked over to her currently powerless armor. "Think the computers are up again yet? I really don't want to get blown up if I put the power back in."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

"Y'know what? If I had somethin' t'beat it wit, then I'd probably wouldn't have t'worry 'bout this arm, yeah?" Asher mused as he slid out of Shikaku, perspiring slightly from the amount of pain coursing through his nerves. The Yamataian grunted as he slid down the side of his armor, the broken arm limp at his side. He looked down at his naked form, noting the still-healing wound under the broken arm, along with the broken arm itself. He had never sustained extreme injuries in combat before, nor had he died, either. A short contemplation of his mortality led him to believe that an ST-back up was in order if he wanted to remember how many things he had ended today.

He looked over at Nyton, and then over at Kyou. Kyou didn't know about his illegal resurrection, but Nyton was the second or third person to see him. The Malifarian also wasn't too sure if Nyton was keen on letting him get a ST-back up. Still, he felt he had to slip something one before the next conflict, if not to just avoid the fuzziness of the two-year gap of time loss.

Most of the medical crew he could remember were in the Miharu's med-bay. If his guess was right, there was likely no one meandering around in the Hoshi's med-bay. If he could convince the commander to give him at least a short leave, he could make a quick hop, skip, and a jump to a back-up machine.

"One second, Clayboss." Asher held up a hand as he seemed to collect his wits. He began to hobble himself towards the exit of the hangar bay. "I need t'piss somethin' serious before I get started, n'I can't focus on m'work if I piss in m'armor."

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

@Bridge:

When Yukari arrived to the bridge, she was witness to Hinoto holding the drooping broken ventilator steady as Kotori hovered up and severed the twisted metal supports that were still holding it at the ceiling with a swift drawcut from her zesuaium wakizashi.

With the weight suddenly being thrust all on Hinoto, the snow-haired sprite grit her teeth and heaved the ventilator out of the way, where it fell on its side in a loud clatter of metal.

Yukari hadn't had a very good look of Kotori since the Taisa departed for the Gate. Kotori's yukata was crusted brown with dried blood and was so torn that it only raggedly hung on her. Her exposed skin - and there was much more of it - was grimy with bloodstains that had only been dry-toweled off, and most of the skin Yukari could see under the grime was mottled with purplish bruises. The left cheek was almost entirely covered with crinkled scabbing, the long black hair on the same side had been gummed together with clotted blood and the white of her amber-irised eyes had turned a light red thanks to burst capillaries.

Kotori rehomed her shortsword (which was covered with enough dried blood to mostly ruin its transparency) and turned to look at Yukari while Hinoto left to fetch a power armored technician to take the severed ventilator out of the bridge. Looking wan and weary, she held Yukari's eyes for a second before she telepathically sent out: "Nyton, Tom, I would like you to report to the bridge at your earliest convenience."

With that done she spoke to Yukari, her voice barely above a whisper: "I've never wanted my revenge to carry this cost... but I don't think I ever really considered it until Eve was dead and seeing how much blood that victory was worth."

"In all my drive to get to this point," Kotori closed her eyes, and red tears spilled down her cheeks. "...I never realized that on the trip here, I gained a home."

@Armor Bay:

Shortly after Kotori's telepathic summon, the broken Telemachus dematerialized from atop the nanomachine reconstruction platform.

"You can go ahead and see the Taisa, Taii," Hoshi informed Nyton as Nimura entered the armor bay, bearing Eve's scorched zesuaium endoskeleton and her chained-linked zesuaium kamas inside. "I could use some more time to process and refine the materials."

@Tom:

Kotori's summons to Tom came shortly after the Yamataian had been gently toweled by the nurse and then was being helped with putting on a robe.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Kyou frowned a little at Asher's abrupt departure, but shrugged, moving on just fine. "Claymere-Taii, if it's all right, I think I'll make a quick run to the medbay. I'll be a lot more useful to you if I need to be resurrected as I am now than before any of the fighting." She hopped down from her seat, floating lightly down to the floor, awaiting his go ahead.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

As Telemachus disappeared Nyton listened to both Kotori and Kyou. "Very well Gunshin-Hei. Do what you must be be back quickly otherwise you won't have a suit to fight with."

The sight of Nimura arriving was well timed. Nyton spied the zesuaium skeleton of the fallen Eve and smiled a bit. "So she managed to make another skeleton again. No surprise that." he thought to himself. "Nimura-san, if you have no further orders then I want you assist Westwood-Hei after you have finished depositing that in storage." he said.

"Westwood, I am being summoned by the Taisa. Continue to work and see about scrounging up the rest of the ammunition. No sense in holding anything back now. I doubt we would have enough left over for anything else after this." Nyton said before departing for the bridge.

"As you wish, your highness. I am on my way."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ayumu got to work monitoring other patients while Azumi finished checking Tom. "Is there anything else you need, Freeman-Juni?" she asked.

Re: Mission 5: Amaya's Gate

Kyou nodded, making her way to the medbay quickly; no point in wasting time wandering around. She poked her head in, moving a bit off to the side, since it seemed they were a bit busy. Not sure who (if anyone) wasn't busy, she waited a second, but then raised her voice a little. "Umm... I need to get a back-up done quickly."
