RP: 21st Fighter Sq [Mission 6.0] Mists and Mysteries

Elisto gave a nod and glanced back down the cavern and narrowed his eyes a bit before activating his helmets optics to check for anything in the darkness.

"Good to meet you Patrick, how many of you are there?" he asked while driving the vehicle slowly behind the engineer.
 
Kenshin's volley struck one of the craft which immediately banked to avoid being shot again. It was a Ge-T1 shuttle and the sturdy craft was still operating well.

Errowyn's tactical system started painting multiple targets ahead and above her position. It also detected a batch of small missiles streaking towards her from her six.


Patrick looked at Elisto, "Well with the overall expedition here, there are about five hundred of us at various points on Aqueous. This mining slash tunneling project we have a team of twenty. We got word about bugging out, but we don't have any transports here. So we figured we'd keep working up until someone finally showed up for us."
 
"You are real mess," Anne said as she studied her scanner. She took out a sedative and put it in her hypospray. She found a biggest crack in the armour and injected the neko. "You'll get some sleep with this, while I treat you." She just said, knowing that the neko will fall asleep soon. She then took healing blood injector and injected some of it. She knew hemosynthetics will take care of most damage. There was nothing she could do for radiation. Nekos healing abilities had to deal with that.
 
"Hit confirmed -- but no kill." Kenshin announced with his fighter's comm system as he directed his aerospace fighter to follow the enemy shuttle into its pattern of evasive action.

"Let's try this again..." the pilot whispered to himself, pulling the trigger for his ships main guns and releasing a blazing torrent of destructive weapons fire at the same time Kenshin tried to place and maintain the nimble form of the Tachibana shuttle beneath his the retical of his HUD.
 
Errowyn's targeting system identified an unidentified craft flying at high speed at low altitude. It was only because she was flying so low herself that her systems were able to spot the craft. The targeting system identified it as an old Ke-T2-1c. It also identified a number of weapon systems on the craft.

The Ge-T1 shuttle continued to try to avoid a target lock, and even deployed a series of flares to try and confuse the Kawarime's system. However, Kenshin was able to get a clear lock on the craft.
 
Deftly avoiding the first set of missiles heading her way, her tactical picked another craft ahead of her. She smiled feraly as she took stock of the old Ke-T2-1c with assorted weapons on it.

"Hellcat, missiles away," Errowyn spoke softly over the squad's freq as she let loose a volley of of three missile as soon as she had lock on it.

The three missiles in a staggered line diagnolly few meters apart. Hopefully the other two trailing missile whont be fooled by the old Ke-T2-1c missile defence system.
 
No transports? Elisto sighed and glanced back over the side of the cab. "I'd suggest you get everyone together and get ready to get out, I can't tell you why, just that 'bugging out' is something you should do right now even if you lack transportation."
 
Patrick looked back at Elisto. "The only vehicles we have are construction vehicles. Not made to carry people or move very fast. So if we were to 'bug out' we would have to do it on foot. It makes more sense for us to wait here for transport to arrive."

When they emerged from the tunnel, the work site was clearly visible. The SSS personnel had cleared the area of trees and erected some temporary structures. As said all of the equipment was construction related. The people were going through the structures and bringing out containers with samples.

"You Star Army, we actually may have something we can use to get the folks away from here, it won't be comfortable, but it will work." He said crossing over to the MOLE. "Never mind the samples, everyone get your butts over here. This here Star Army pilot says we need put out, so everyone get into the MOLE and we'll head away from here."

With the reactor room now filled with several inches of water from Silic's external cooling of the reactor, the status board for the reactor was showing all green. The reactor had completed shutdown and core temp was back within tolerance.

Anne's patient's vital signs improved some with the treatment of hemosynth fluid. However, her scanner showed that there was an injury that she would have to take direct action on. It seemed that a large shard of her armor was bent into her body and would not allow that area to heal.
 
Anne frowned and checked the data once again. The piece of the Mindy armour was lodged in her body. She sighed and started looking for ways to open the armour. Brute force seemed to be only chance by now as the black mindy armour was horribly bent. THey could end up hurting the neko even more though.

"Silic!" Anne shouted at her friend and lover. "Are you done with the ractor? I need help here!"
 
Silic shut off the hose and dropped it aside as he turned to look back at Anne. By now the adrenaline had started wearing down and his natural hand shook under his armor. Before the full onslaught of what had just happened in the last few minutes could hit him he saw Anne working on the Black Mindy.

Hurriedly he walked stiffly towards them, suddenly feeling heavy. He swallowed and then answered "Yeah, I'm here. What's wrong?" he asked as he got nearer.
 
Anne looked up at Silic. "We need to get this armour off her." She stated, still making readings with her scanner. "Piece of it is lodged in her body and I need to take it out. I don't want to force the armour open as that might hurt her. Got any idea how to take it off without killing her?"
 
Silic thought about this for a few seconds before nodding slightly. "I might." he offered.

Taking a knee next to the prone neko, his fingers twiddled hesitantly over the wound before his fingers reached in and slowly began trying to pry the metal out of the wound.
 
Kenshin swore under his breath as he trailed behind the Tachibana shuttle. Despite the sensor lock, Kenshin held back from firing another salvo of missiles -- due to the fact that he could see the brilliant flash of flares being released in the shuttlecrafts wake. He could fire, but it would probably be a waste of ammunition now.

The pilot instead let loose a continuous barrage of aetheric gunfire -- all four of the cannons upon his nimble kawarime swivelled slightly to align with his target and unleash flaming hell upon the fleeing transport.
 
A little late to the party, Yaeko came streaking towards the compound, weapons hot. Once the first fighter was in range she unloaded with her Aether Cannons before zooming by and banking around for another pass.

"Silic, Elisto, I need an update from both of you. Now!"
 
Errowyn watched as her missiles streaked into the heavily armed old Ke-T2-1c, being no match for kawarime's missiles, disintregrate before her in a blazing glory as it fell from the sky to become a rolling ball of flames dispersing pieces of itself on the ground, then she zipped over it, looking for more targets to kill as she flew.

She kept an ear open on 21st channel to keep updated, "splash one enemy Ke-T2-1c!" over the radio as she continued the hunt, working her way closer to the enemy's secondary base.
 
Kenshin's target exploded into a sphere of expanding plasma and debris. The fireball dissipated and the debris rained down on the surface.

The tactical systems were showing no sign of any craft trying to depart. It appeared that the Diamonds brought down all of the shuttles the clan had.
 
Elisto watched and nodded with satisfaction. "Alright, get them on board then we need to get as far as-" he stopped when he heard static on his comm line and listened.

"Silic, Elisto, I need an update from both of you. Now!"

He breathed a sigh of relief, he could hear Yaeko's voice but he wasn't entirely certain if he could send a response. "Scrapyard here, unsure if this message will get through, having problems with suit comm system, have encountered SSS personnel and are leading them away."
 
The Diamonds had made short work of the fleeing shuttles. Their debris was scattered over the planet's surface.

Meanwhile all was quiet at the base where Anne and Silic remained.
 
"Another kill confirmed here as well." Said Kenshin a few moments after Errowyn announced her success in taking down a shuttle over the squadron's comms frequency. "Heading back, lead." he then added, addressing his assigned wingmate. Swivelling his fighter around, he directed the craft towards Errowyn in order to enter a formation with her.

As he flew, Kenshin waited expectantly for Yaeko or Atsui to issue new orders over the squadron's comms. He wondering if they would instruct the squadron to go back and check on those still ground-side -- the pilot believed that if the base was going to explode, it would have done so already.

To himself Kenshin thought, 'Tin Man and Spinner must have somehow stopped the base from blowing sky-high.'
 
"Heitan to Fighting Diamonds.... Heitan to Fighting Diamonds.... We are showing all outbound craft have been destroyed. Repeat all bogies have been shot down..

Orbital recon shows the biological weapon has not been released. Commence retrieval of squadron members. Return to Heitan once all members retrieved. Heitan Out."

Konpeki walked into the remnants of the Tachibana Clan base. From outside the base appeared intact. The interior however looked as if a major gun battle had taken place. She followed the IFF signals to locate Silic and Anne.

"Hey you two, Atsui is sounding recall. What is your status?" She inquired as she approached the reactor room.
