RP: YSS Aeon [Mission 6.2] Sword Flash in Darkness - Unsheathed

"Roger that. Securing exits." Yoshiro said and moved to secure the exits that he was ordered to. Although he wondered what to do about the hybrids he knew that he may have to put them out of their misery and that was something that was going to haunt him forever. He thought that this was going to be a romantic sort of thing, fighting for your loved ones and protecting Yamatai but that notion had been shattered.

He was still going to fight for what he believed in, however and in so doing he would protect his nation, his ship, his friends and his family. After all, that is what he joined up to do no matter what the cost may be. He made a silent promise to his father who was killed by the NMX and continued to his job, which was to make sure that the exits were secure.

Central Chamber

"Away Team, those tubes should be capable of being moved. After all the NMX would want to be able to ship their creations while being able to control them.

The ones that are still operating we will take with us. Disconnect the power and start moving them to the exit quickly. Take the cable with them as we may need it to tie it into the a power source." Misaki sent to the away team over radio.

Seeing Jacob escorting their VIP, "Okay Gambit our work here is done. Let's get our people onto the Transporters and away from the planet."

Surface

A group of prisoners was standing near the entrance they watched expectantly as the Tenba-Class was approaching. They flinched when the TASHA unleashed another volley at hostiles.

"So we're leaving already? I was just starting to enjoy the place." Came a voice from the door, the form of the taisho wandered through, followed by her two escorts. It is a pleasure to meet you...why don't we get to evac before my legs give way under me?" Akina asked, trying to mask how pitiable a state her captors had left her in. "You can take the tubes...SAINT might want a look...they still exist, don't they?"

"Hai, Taisho." Misaki replied, fighting the urge to allow her lashes to flutter inside her suit. "Jacob, we're withdrawing. Ground teams, our VIP is secure and the POWs are up."

She keyed the Aeon to be sure, "There were too many for just three, Aeon actual. We are moving the last out extraction." At that, her suit slipped from the ground and she moved past the taisho to take the fire support spot slightly behind and between two of Gambit's suits. "Keep it careful." To emphasize, she set her NSBs around the wary taisho as they proceeded through the empty prison towards the exit.

Kyoka sighed a breath of relief. It looked liked no executions would rest on their heads, now.

"Tanaka-hei, Arai-hei, each of you grab a tank - and be careful! If you can't figure out how to see past them, just use my NSB feed if you need to," She ordered, sending a second message to Misaki.

Code:
Chusa,
There's one more tank here that's still functioning that none of us can take care of safely. Requesting pickup.

"Alright, move out!"

Yoshiro grabbed a container and made sure that its contents were secure. He grabbed the power cord and then prepared to move out. "Saki, you need help?" He asked.

Two of Gambit broke off at a gesture from Jacob. He and the others following the Chusa made their way up to the waiting Transporter. Their VIP was a priority target and more important that the tanks at the moment.

Once they stepped out of the prison, they kept the Taisho shielded with their bodies and kept up a spread of drones just in case.

-------------------

Two Mindy Clad soldiers entered the basement. "Understand you need some help moving some tanks. We'll take the last one, the lead neko said to Kyoka. The two walked over to the tank, removed the power cables. Then using their armor augmented strength lifted the tank and followed Kyoka and the other to the surface.

------------------

Moving the tanks was awkward but the most that happened was that the occupants were bumped around within their cylinders cushioned by the fluid.

Before the team the rear doors of the Tenba were open revealing the compartment in the back with the last of the prisoners.

Saki grabbed her own tank, after securing her rifle on her back. In Daisy it was not heavy at all, but it was still unwieldy to carry around. She did not want to hurt the person suffering inside as well.

"I am fine Yoshiro," Saki replied with a smile. She slowly made her way towards the Tenba. She used her drones to look ahead for danger.

Kyoka and her team made it safely to the surface, but now they were in the last stretch. She took her tank and secured it to the inside of the Tenba with a few cargo belts, then stood on the edge of the loading ramp to stand guard until the others were secure.

"Double time it, people!"

"All right then. " Yoshiro said and moved toward the shuttle and then he placed the pod on the Tenba. He sat his weapon down and helped Saki get her pod on board. He was careful to not jostle them around too much when he did so so that the occupants were not hurt in any way.

The remaining prisoners moved behind the Away team and quickly got into the the transporter. The sounds of combat were diminishing as the surviving NMX forces chose to withdraw rather than try to fight against the Tenba-Class and the two TASHA. Smoking and their armor pierced in multiple places they continued to protect the Away team and their charges.

The last two out of the prison were the two soldiers from Gambit bringing the last of the hybrids. They quickly loaded their charge into the Tenba and connected the cables to a power port.

Jacob monitored the status of his people. Once the last of them were on board, he hit the switch to close the back panels of the transporter.

"Chusa, we are all aboard, ready to lift on your command." he said to Misaki.

"Wheels up, everyone on." Misaki ordered, and when the last of the team was loaded, only then did the Chusa step into the shuttle, and key the launch for the last of the group.

As the tenba lifted, she signaled their mothership, Aeon actual, full target area success. Have bio-containment on standby. Repeat, success. Breaking now.

At that the light-haired officer keyed the squads, "Good work, keep sharp until we are out of the combat zone, then our mission is a success. I want after-action reports ready from each squad leader, I will compile them in my own for the captain. You have honored the Empire today, and her captured sisters."

Things had gone so well it almost worried the veteran, making her entirely more wary of the fact they were bringing back several tubes with her. SAINT was one thing, but the Taisho had looked rather bothered by their presence in the LZ for some reason.

Akina herself hadn't sat down since the shuttle lifted off. Getting a good look at the flag officer revealed how matted and tangled her hair was with grime, as well as the rest of her, it seemed she was worked over at a regular interval until they forgot about her, though that didn't stop it completely. "I'll make my report to fleet when I am debriefed here. Where...where are we?" It had only just come to her when her mind was not totally occupied with escape that she did not even know how far out the Star Army had to push to find her.

Kyoka looked to the former POW, fumbling around in her kit until she came on a pack of rations.

"We're at Higaflan," she informed, holding out the pack of preserved food. "I'd think you wouldn't have had many good meals since you've been down there, so this should tide you over until we're safely out."

Yoshiro was beat after that mission and was resting. He was also curious about who they had rescued. He looked over and saw the person that they were speaking to. "Excuse me Tsubei-heisho but who is that you are speaking to?" He asked, not trying to be rude but wondering all the same.

"No clue. May I ask your name, ma'am?" Kyoka asked the woman, bowing slightly. "I am Santo-Juni Tsubei Kyoka."

The neko watched Akina's green eyes, observing them through her Daisy's visor. While she would like to take her helmet off, they were still in a hot zone, and it'd be at risk to herself and a bad precedent if she were to take it off before they arrived back on the Aeon.

The Tenba-Class lifted from the ground and rose steadily. One the flight deck the sensors detected a massive energy surge below the ship. The system identified the source as an anti-matter reactor building to detonation.

Through out the craft warning klaxons sounded.

When the warnings started to go off Freyja acted out of impulse, she slammed the throttles to their stoppers and raced to find something to maneuver the shuttle behind. once the shuttle was picking up speed she kicked up the intercom for the ship, "Everyone place brace for impact, there is a massive energy build up at the prison, I'm trying to get us out of the blast radius, but I have no clue when it will go off. Again please brace yourself."

As the Tenba-Class sped away at maximum acceleration, it surged forward fast enough that the shields glowed from atmospheric friction. The ground beneath the prison bulged upwards the structure lifted and sections of it collapsed in the flexing matter.

Two seconds later, the area vanished in a brilliant flash of light and radiation. The prison was vaporized by the blast and fragments of the structure flew in all directions away from the epicenter.

The blast wave from the detonation closed upon the transporter. The Tenba-Class was caught in the wave as it overtook the vehicle. The interior lights dimmed as the systems redirected power and the impact of debris slamming into the shields could be felt.

On the flight light, status lights on the engineering displays flickered and warnings were clearly visible on many of the displays. Three seconds later the craft's velocity passed Mach one; and shot out of the shock wave. The vehicle continued to surge forward increasing the distance between it and the shock wave.

Inside the system displays one by one returned to normal, the only system that remained a yellow was the transporters shield system.

"Well, that was invigorating." Misaki suddenly called out, to break any tension felt by the POWs and soldiers crammed into the last Tenba. "I feel amazing. Welcome home, to our wayward soldiers." She didn't mention how ready she was to drop out of the tenba in case something followed them from the surface, but kept on welcoming their mission targets with a welcome aplomb.

"I am Kurusu-Chusa, you will all be moved to larger vessels, cared for, and returned to deep imperial space for debriefing. The prison was fully liberated before it detonated." Well, that's what her scans said anyway, she was glad she took the support module along, and had a better feel for her new power armor already, it was starting to feel like the one she lost-...how long ago was it?

Akina lowered the NSP she had been given, though she felt like if she gripped it any more tightly, the handle would snap off in her hand. "Princess Shimizu Akina, Taisho, Fourth Fleet, Clan Shimizu or if I'm lucky, there still is a Fourth Fleet and someone else is in command-I was away a long time." The wary officer replied, looking to Tsubei, actually a little relieved to see a DAISY for some reason, even though she'd never been a fan.

The ache of her abused form began to sink into her while she leaned against the wall, giving Tsubei her best smile to not alarm the soldier too much, or lessen her opinion of the brass. Slowly, she turned the weapon about and handed it butt first to the soldier, "You'll just have to watch me until it's my turn for treatment. At least we're..pushing again. Is there a new offensive?" All she could think about home was sitting with antiquated ships, waiting for the enemy to arrive again. What a strategic nightmare, and all the colonists of the Bard Cluster had to pay for it.

At least I can have a decent meal again, maybe my violin survived. A wary thought sped through Shimizu's brain, easing the tension the other ones caused when her wary eyes tracked back up to the armored soldier.

A princess...we rescued a princess? Yoshiro thought to himself and looked at Shimizu. I guess that I can retire now that I have done that. He looked away realizing that he was being rude and not showing respect to an officer and a princess at that. He sat silently for the remainder of the trip and waited to dock.
