"Come with me," Hanako left Pineapple to distribute the gifts, leading Ramiro up the cargo lift, down the passageway, into the Zero-G passage, and finally back into the bridge.

"Charisma, display the standard star map," the Taisa ordered.

Turning to face Ramiro, Hanako explained, "The course you told me goes right through that big blue nebula. We have to stick to the Star Army spacelane at least until UX-6 Kazumi. I am also surprised you chose to take us through the unexplored Southern Frontier, but that is alright. We just need to be on our guard. We can scan and chart systems on the way."

"Charisma, update map with original course and direct line in red, and current and alternate courses in yellow," Hanako directed the computer.

Kumiko bowed again as the Taisa gave her her orders, then turned, and headed down to the engineering section to look around. Upon arrival there, she looked around, and found a couple possible spots, but decided to run some diagnostics of current systems, and figure out which one of the spots would be the best in terms of ease of connection and stability in battle. As she kicked those into gear, she also started up a more in depth analytical diagnostic of how the secondary power system could be used to boost performance during high energy drain periods.

Thanking Ramiro, Nika sat down at the console and tapped through the controls, noting the flight path, which seemed correct somewhat, until Hanako came in with Ramiro.

"Taisa, in reference to the flight paths..." Nika studied them closely, "Going through the Samurai Sector is the safest route. However, since the Eucharis is an exploration vessel..." She turned to look at Ramiro, and then to Hanako, "We should be more adventurous by the route suggested by Valencia-Hei." The neko paused abit, "Of course, using the proper spacelane until UX-6 Kazumi."

Ramiro followed the Taisa back to the bridge and watched as she pulled up the star maps, making sure to take note of everything she was saying. "My apologies Taisa, I will not make that mistake again. I would also have to agree with Nika that the ship would be better served passing through the unexplored Southern Frontier in order to chart systems in the area. However it is, after all, your choice Taisa."

After hearing the Taisa's announcement about the promotions and gifts, Hotaru turned towards Hanako and bowed, "Thankyou for the promotion and gifts Taisa," before she bowed again and made her way over to Pineapple.

Smiling at Pineapple, Hotaru cast an appreciative eye over a particular fur coat and some bed silks. "Greetings Pineapple-san, may I take a fur coat, some silk bedding and a kitbag please?" requested Hotaru.

After receiving the gifts, Hotaru made her way to her room to drop off the items and retrieve her NSP. Once it was safely secured to her belt, clip checked and the safety checked to be on, she proceeded down to the power armour bay.

Entering the bay, she paused at the entrance and looked at the sight of the armours. Smiling to herself she made her way over to 'her' Daisy she used on the previous mission. Pleased to see it showed no battle damage, Hotaru began running diagnostics on the suit's internal systems as she softly sung to herself. I wonder what we will encounter this mission? Best to be prepared I think, especially since we don't know what we're going to be running into.

Hanako nodded to her starship operators. "Notify the squadron and then depart when ready. We will stop at the first unnamed system on the way. The ship has two survey platforms attached via tow line. If we see anything interesting, we may drop one off."

The Taisa paused for a moment to check the time, listed at the bottom of the main screen. "Lime should have lunch ready now. Once you two are set, you should rotate into the wardroom to eat."

Hamada stepped onto the bridge as discreetly as she could manage, while still actually wearing a white uniform, and assumed a position off to the side and back of the command seat, casually observing the ship operators and occassionally glancing down to the data pad she had picked up in port.

The crew roster was listed down it, and she had already managed a few divisions and watch bills. It wasn't hard to do, for such a small crew. The new promotions had been helpful to her, but not very. There were too few Heisho, too many Hei, for a proper bill. But she had done what she could.

Code:
Ship Watch Bill:

Bridge

- Taisa Hanako (Captain)
- Taii Hamada (First Officer)
- Itto Juni Blueberry (Sensors)
- Itto Heisho Blackberry (Bridge Monitor)
- Nito Hei Valencia (Starship Operator)
- Nito Hei Himeya (Starship Operator)

Fire and Security

- Nito Heisho Yamamoto Hotaru (Master at Arms)
- Itto Hei Sune (Medical Duty Crew)
- Nito Hei Konoka (Medical Duty Officer)
- Nito Heisho Pineapple
- Joto Hei Lime (Ship's Cook)
- Joto Hei Mango (Ship's Cook)

Engineering *

- Nito Hei Takeda (Engineering Duty Officer)
- Nito Hei Kumiko

* Engineering watch has been extended to six hours on, and six hours off, due to lack of qualified personnel. Medical Duty Crew are only mustered during the day when necessary. Ship's cooks rotate out during mealtimes. All other personnel stand four hour watches.

With a few taps of her stylus, she forwarded the watch bill to the commanding officer, for review, and then tucked the pad away.

"I'll take the bridge if one of the ship operators feels like being relieved," offered Hamada, amiably, "I had a large breakfast, and can pick up something later."

Ramiro saluted to the Taisa and responded, "Yes ma'am," as he pulled his comm out of his pocket and sent a message to the other ships in the squadron that the Eucharis was ready for departure. He had just started replotting the course when Hamada approached. "Uhm, I'm not quit sure what there is left to do. I'm just entering in the course now, the rest of the squadron has been notified, and all that's really left is to physically take off and go to our destination. Although that is as long as I'm not forgetting anything. I don't remember much from training and this is the first vessel I've ever actually worked upon so...."

Junko had been making her way towards the indicated gifts, having decided that she might as well accept the useful offerings like linens and spare uniform items, when she heard the Taisa’s response to Endoh’s question. She had read about QNCs peripherally before, but not of them being deployed operationally with Star Army vessels. Without thinking, she began to follow Endoh to engineering, now having forgotten the gifts, but midway decided to read up a bit on the QNCs first. Slowing her pace, Junko used her communicator to query the computer for more detailed background information. Certainly, the technology was inferior to Aether in terms of pure energy generation, but the stealth applications were quite interesting. Already deep in thought, she finally entered engineering. Noticing that Endoh had already begun some diagnostic efforts of her own, Junko crossed over to her. “Any thoughts on the installation? Do we even know what size of cell the Taisa procured yet?”

With Ramiro already at the controls again, Nika decided that she could get some lunch while picking up some of the gifts Hanako was giving out.

"Taisa, permit me to take my leave for lunch then. Valencia-Hei can take the controls." With that she got off her seat, "Are we allowed to bring drinks onto the bridge? If so, I can bring some refreshments for everyone."

Completely engrossed in studying the diagnostics which were already finishing, as well as starting more based on the results of the first few, Kumiko almost missed what Junko said. "Hmmm... so if we do that... then..." She paused and looked up. "What? Oh. No, not yet. Right now I'm trying to figure out where it would be best for the system to attach it, then we can reconfigure the rest of the bay to accommodate it if needed..." She let the thought trail off, and looked back down at the diagnostics. "Actually, if you could check the size of the cells, that would be helpful."

Sune left the cargo bay, stopping briefly at his quarters to stow Hanako's gift. There will be time later to put it on the bed. I need to get to medical and start reviewing the crew medical records. He left his room and went through passageway and down one level to the Medbay. He stopped upon entering to check the PMS charging station. Satisfied that it was installed and working properly, he made his way over to the desk.

While I wait for Miyazawa-Hei to arrive so that we can divide the tasks of getting base lines and mental backups accomplished. Since none of the crew have a PMS-1M baseline on record, we should probably scan the entire crew. For now I will start reviewing the medical records. He then entered his personal security code and pulled up the first record alphabetically.

"I'll take the bridge if one of the ship operators feels like being relieved," offered Hamada, amiably, "I had a large breakfast, and can pick up something later."
"Alright," Hanako nodded. "Ramiro, Nika, enjoy yourselves. Shizu, I would like you to add actual assigned stations--physical locations--to this list." Sitting in her center seat, the Taisa engaged the ship's hyperspace fold drive, set for the first of several waypoints along their route. It would be a couple hours before the ship reached its destination.

The four starships of the Second Squadron were bathed in blue shimmers and then faded away as they disappeared from normal space.

"Thank you Taisa." Ramiro saluted before he relaxed into his off duty type attitude. He wandered back to the wardroom. There he grabbed one of the pork sandwiches and added buffalo sauce. He the grabbed some of the baked beans, but skipped over the potato salad, and started piling the sour cream and onion chips onto his plate. He finished off by grabbing a handful of the vegetables and then walked over and sat down at one of the booths.

Hamada settled into the chair in front of the sensor array and placed her PDA on a blank portion of the control panel. She looked the controls over briefly before relaxing against the chair's back and considering what she was being asked to do.

"I would not know where Taisa-san wishes them to be," Hamada answered, distantly, refraining from grating her teeth over the casual use of her given name. She tried to keep her tone patient. "The engineering section watches monitor the ship power and propulsion status, constantly. The bridge watches have their own specializations, and you and I are both qualified to monitor the bridge. The security division maintains a roving security watch, and a few security posts, at the discretion of the Master at Arms, but if you wish to assign them permanent stations, that can also be done."

Using her stylus, Hamada scrolled down her PDA.

"Is there any place you would like someone posted in particular?"

As Konoka stepped into the medbay, she peered over Sune's shoulder at the records. She said, "By the way, my medical experience involves education in the latest in medicine and surgery, and I can care for wounds, injuries, and the common cold very well. Iknow the ins and outs of anatomy, chiropractics, nursing, massage therapy, acupuncture, herbal medicine, drug use, how to care for ears, noses, feet, etc, how to deal with emergency situations, most kinds of surgery, dermatology, basic health, the most basic dentistry, some physcology, and I'm able to treat patients in a caring, calming, efficient, standard-procedure way." Smiling she said, "I think we'll work well together. When do you think we should start on back-ups, eh, new helper?" She then continued to help him sift through the records.

After completing a review of the records for the members who remained from the previous crew Sune stood and flexed his shoulders. He turned to Konoka "Perhaps we should start with ourselves. We can accomplish two tasks at the same time. While we perform the backup on each other, we can also get a baseline reading with the PMS-1Ms. Once we are done with that, we will have the newest members of the crew come down for their physicals. With the two of us working together we should be able to all of them done in no time at all." He then walked over to the scanner charging station. "You want to go first, partner?" he asked.

Hanako frowned a little in frustration. "Nevermind," she told Hamada. She couldn't help but keep thinking of the mysterious, deadly enemy they'd encountered back at Viridian. "Do you want to do some starship weapons and firefighting training on the way to UX-12?"

Konoka looked at Sune in mild confusion for a minute. "Wouldn't the right thing to do be to help everyone else BEFORE yourself?? At least that's how I've seen my life. I've never really considered taking care of myself...in any way....first." Konoka gave a little sigh. "However, I believe I can accomplish a backup for you....Unless it would please you more not to be first? Humm...Though it seems just not...right...." She smiled, in a way that seemed almost like a frown. "I'm very glad to be working with you, we'll be able to be much more efficient, accomlish so much....Yay! Though please refrain from such extreme selfishness in the future....Unless it is simply your way, and you will be selfish to match my inabilty at it....." She cocked her head, tittering a small laugh. "Odd that a medic would think of himself....But then, I'm rather odd...."

Sune was puzzled by Konoka's response. "If we were treating injuries, I would take care of patients before myself, unless my injuries were so severe as to impeded my abilities. My suggestion was that we use each other to get first hand experience with the PMS-1 before we use them on the crew. I do not consider it selfish to be willing to subject myself to a process before subjecting others to it. After all how can we tell the patient what they may experience, if we have not experienced it."
