Meanwhile, up on the level where the ship was docked, Hanako opened the door, only to be greeted by an ambush. Infected Elysians opened fire as the door opened. Hanako, on the side of the doorway, poked her flamethrower around the corner and held the trigger for a generous amount of time, turning the corridor into a raging inferno. A flailing victim stumbled into the elevator shaft and fell down the long, long shaft and slammed into the bottom with a sickening thread, dead on impact.

Before the flames died out, Hanako switched her pistol to heavy mode and fired two "grenade" shots down the corridor to where the enemy was likely hiding. At this point, enemy fire ceased for the moment. Before entering the smoke-filled corridor, Hanako waited for the others. She was intent on making it back to the ship. They were almost there...just a few turns to go!

A loud warning klaxon sounded throughout the station, followed by an echoing female voice. "Please proceed in an orderly fashion to your designated emergency evacuation zone. This facility will automatically self-destruct in five minutes."

Takeyu's eyes darted to the ceiling as he heard the announcement. "Great..." he grumbled as he turned his attention to the corridor.

"This.... brings back memories..." he muttered lowly before he shook his head and brought up his pistol and set it on heavy. His eyes were focused solely on the smoke, his trigger finger just waiting in case an infected Elysian came through weapons blazing.

Not relishing in the idea of holding on to another guy just to get anywhere, Mikael started to silently curse to himself because he had no other choice. He just simply held on once he handed over the pillow cases and figured a way to keep the autocannon on him. "Thank goodness for this anti-grav unit.." Mikael thought to himself.

When Takeyu stated to hold on tight, Mikael didn't even really acknowledge back that he understood. He was simply just doing his best not feeling extremely awkward about the situation. He was glad once they finally got to the same level as Hanako and quickly let go and walked several feet away fast. He quickly put his autocannon into the "ready position" when he saw the infected Elysians ambush them. But with the devastation from Hanako's flamethrower he didn't get the chance to use it.

Mikael stepped slowly into the corridor, sweeping with the Autocannon. "Shall we, ma'am?" he asked.

The final stretch was a curved corridor with a number of crates and boxes on the sides. As they passed the burnt area and rounded some of the corner, an Elysian woman came running toward them.

"Help!" she screamed.

An Elysian soldier with a freaky look on his face poked out from behind one of the crates and shot the woman in the back. She collapsed onto the floor with blood running from her lips.

Mikael walked down the corridors to the far side of Hanako, continuing with his sweeping motion. He saw the Elysian woman running towards, he but before he could motion her to stop, he saw her shot in the back and collaspe to the ground.

Looking behind her to see the Elysian solider and the weapon that shot her, Mikael dropped down to make himself as small of a target as possible and squeezed off a burst from the autocannon towards the ground besides the soldier. "Halt right there and drop the weapon!! The next shots will not be warnings!!" Mikael screamed at the soldier, weapon aim center mass on him.

Takeyu watched the woman hit the ground, his eyes then darted to the soldier ahead before he brought up his pistol, took aim and awaited for orders.

Sensing Takeyu's hesitation and Mikael's misses, the Elysian shot the obvious leader in the chest with his rifle before taking cover again behind the crates.

"Aungh!" Hanako stumbled backwards and staggered over behind a similar crate, leaning against the wall with her bloodied pistol hand held against her chest.

Watching the hostile Elysian soldier shoot Hanako, Mikael let out a roar of curses in a fit of rage and began to bull rush the crates the soldier took cover, firing full area saturation fire in 6 to 9 round burst at the crates and into any crates that looked like the rounds would go through.

Mikael's powerful Elysian rifle penetrated the crates, the attacker, and even the curved wall beyond.

FSSSHhhhhhhh....Thin jets of water began shooting out into the hallways from the bullet holes. Apparently some sort of water tank was on the other side. As Mikael reached the far side of the crate and found the now-dying attacker, he could also see that there were cracks spreading from the leaking bullet holes.

The fatally wounded Elysian quietly pushed a button on a grenade he hand on his belt.

Takeyu cursed silently and quickly ran to the crate that Hanako was behind, he let off a few rounds that missed, splasing harmlessly against the back wall.

When he saw Mikeals shots connect and the Elysian go down he let out a small sigh of relief, before turning his attention to now wounded Hanako.

"Mikeal!" Takeyu shouted and stared at Hanako before pulling out a small medkit he had. He was trained to be an engineer, not a medic.... all he could do was address her wounds and stop the bleeding.

Hanako holstered her blood-covered golden pistol and helped Takeyu tape up the wound on her front while Takeyu got the exit wound on her back. "To the ship," she hoarsely ordered. Back on Eucharis, they would be safe and have access to medical facilities. It wasn't far.

A growing puddle of water began to fill the corridor, already reaching Takeyu and Hanako.

Satisfied that he had killed his target, he slowly went to check the body while looking at the secondary damage he caused. "Maybe I over did it.." he thought to himself as he got closer to the body. His eyes widen when he noticed the grenade too late and tried to roll the soldier over as a very last ditch and desperate shield.

The grenade exploded in a bright orange fireball, shredding the Elysian soldier and sending chunks of the body all over the corridor. Blood was everywhere and slimy chunks of flesh, organs, and skin plastered the walls and ceiling.

Mikeal was slammed by a face full of body parts and thrown backward about 10 meters from the body and hit the ground hard and tumbling, covered in Elysian guts and bleeding from multiple shrapnel wounds, mainly to his legs. His feet were pretty bad off.

Takeyu turned to shield Hanako from the blast the best he could. When the explosion subsided, he turned and stared at Mikeal.

Now further damaged by the grenade, the wall began to collapse. The metal groaned and cracked, and the streams of water turned into giant sprays as chunks of the wall fell out, and the corridor began to flood. Takeyu and Hanako would have to get past the rushing water in order to reach the Eucharis.

Hanako, now sitting in rising water, slowly got up and checked on the teleporter units. "We need to keep moving," she warned. They were only a couple minutes away from the station self-destructing.

Takeyu mentally cursed and nodded an acknoledgement. He then offered his shoulder, while keeping on hand on his rifle and ready to fire.

One moment Mikael remembered doing his best to survive the grenade and the next he was face first sprawled out on the ground with intense pain in his legs and a few locations in his torso. He couldn't feel his feet and feared for the worse. Doing his best to not pass out and not to scream out loud in pain, he slowly dragged himself towards the nearest wall.

Raising himself up enough and turning around to lean on the wall was only making matters the pain worse and forcing him to finally yell out in pain. He pulled out his SMG with one hand while he fumbled around for his field bandage and something to make a tourniquet if his worse fears were true.

"Well.....this turned out to be a swell first date." Mikael said with some heavy breathing. "It will take too long to patch me up...take care of the ma'am Takeyu."

Takeyu nodded at Mikael. He was about to suggest something, but the sound of the walls made him realize that whatever suggestion he had may very well not work...

Dragging her now-soaked pillowcase with the teleporter unit inside, Hanako made sure Takeyu had the other two before trudging through the rushing water to the other side. There, she picked up Mikael in a Fireman's Carry and continued towards the customs area, letting Takeyu take point.

The customs area was mostly empty, save for a few power armored Elysian soldiers on guard with medical scanners. After they scanned Alpha Team, Hanako carefully led the team back to the Eucharis.
