Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

A sickening feeling came over Hanako as she faced the horrible truth: her first officer had been left for dead on a station that was about to self-destruct in one minute. Meanwhile, since Tasuku was a Geshrin, that mean Konoka was the only one that could send directions back to Pineapple to retrieve her.

She contacted Blueberry via telepathy, but Blueberry told the captain that Konoka was unconscious. "I need that map now," Hanako ordered.

Blueberry gave Konoka two shots of painkiller and then another shot of stimulant to wake her up. "Wake up! We need a map to the Chusa."

Meanwhile, still on the doomed space station, Pineapple exited the shuttle's rear, pistol ready, and ran back into the station.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

Sune got up off the stool he was resting on, "Since the leg is already splinted and I have administered a local pain killer. It is not a life threatening injury, I will attend to Ittô Hei Yarani." Sune then made his way over to the bed and administered a dose of medibots from the PMS-1 and pulled up an image. While the medibots swam around and performed their job of locating Yarani's injuries, Sune set about cutting off the tattered uniform, and then administering an IV with a pain suppressor and a sleep inducement.

Sune's medical training took over, he had trained for triage and emergency medical. What kind of weapon did they encounter to receive so much damage? He took note of the various injuries, and prioritized the most severe. Working with the skill that he had acquired prior to joining the Eucharis, he deftly moved any shrapnel and debris placing them in a pan. Then after irrigating the wound; he applied Liquid Bandage to the wound. Once a wound was closed, he moved on to the next. He stayed with the routine until the last of the wounds was closed.

Sune took another look at Tasuku's vitals he added a dose of immune response induction, and stopped the sleep inducement drug. Sune then wiped off what parts of Tasuku's form was not still covered with blood. Taking a sheet from the storage, he placed it over the crewman. He then made his way over to clean himself up and walked over to Blueberry. "How is Konoka-Hei?" he inquired.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

Konoka snapped awake, smiling faintly. In Konoka's eyes, each time you had the ability to wake up again was such a glorious thing she couldn't help but smile. She noticed she'd been treated perfectly. She blinked, and then she remembered. The last few moments before her fainting came back to her. She forced herself to remain calm. She heard someone ask after her. "Oh, don't be silly...." she said weakly, trying to sit up. "Doesn't matter how I am. Ah...oh fish...The Chusa! Umm....I...I can....I can help with that. Here....I'll get that r-ready..." She shook her dull, drugged-up and throbbing head, and began to prepare the map. "I'll help....I'll help...."

She was fine as long as she was still being helpful. She'd been feeling out of place, being the patient instead of the helping hand. All Konoka ever wanted was to help. When she had the map ready to go, she blurted, "Is everyone else....Is everyone else OK?" She was startled. The smell of blood had met her nose. "Oh, ears. Hey....What about....What about those Elysians we were try-trying to help? Will they....Well, I can't just let nothing be done!" Sighing, she sank back down. She'd helped someone. Hopefully. She remembered seeing the Chusa falling down....Feeling all that pain....

She'd done all she could to help. The map would lead them to the Chusa. Yet she couldn't help but feel it wouldn't be enough.

"Something's wrong.....What the fish is going on?"

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

"She will live," Blueberry told Sune.

"Stay calm," Blueberry told Konoka, gently pushing her back down to the table. "Concentrate on healing now. That map will be a big help." The specialist combined the map with a scan of the station's layout and then sent it to Pineapple. "I do not think Bravo team brought any of the VIPs aboard, nor the Chusa. Pineapple is attempting to retrieve them, but she has less than forty seconds."

Turning back to Sune, she told him, "Now it is time for your leg..."

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

Many things floated through Mikael's mind, ranging from the events that happened during this mission to thoughts of how much he really despised his brother. But his focus came back into the present when he noticed the rush of people coming into the medical lab.

With all the activity going on around him, he felt like an unneeded obstacle and just wasting space on the bed. Feeling all that could be done to him was done thanks to the drugs and the work of Blueberry, he started to look for his pants, boots, and something to lean on so he wouldn't have to put to much weight on his feet. He reached for his pants while trying his best to balance with his other arm.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

Kumiko re-entered engineering, and sagged against the wall just inside. That was not an experience she wanted to repeat, at all, and hopefully never would have to. Pulling herself together, she stood up, and moved over to one of the panels nearby. Tapping out a few commands to open everything up again, she started looking through the information that the system fed her. "Taisa? What would you like me to work on?"

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

Sune made his way over to the medical supplies, and pulled out an air cast. Then hobbled his way onto the one of the beds.

Once he was on the bed he turned to Blueberry, "Just help me set the bone Ittô Juni. Then put this cast on, my place is at my station on the bridge now that the medical emergency is over. Time is the only thing that will heal the leg after that."

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

In the medical bay a ragged Tasuku sat trying to regain a sense of what was going on around him, his body was numb and he was covered with a cold sweat, but his mind was becoming clearer.

Overhearing the crewman ask about the Chusa, he told them, "Kurusu Chusa is dead.." the statement was cold, he didn't try to explain it any further.

Tasuku looked over at Konoka, he couldn't help anymore, he could fix machines not people. Neko's are resilient, she'll be okay, he thought, trying to convince himself to believe it.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

"Prepare for damage control," Hanako replied to Kumiko. She then got on the intercom. "All hands to starship combat battle stations."

As NMX ships and Elysian ships abandoned Veritas to join the battle at Elysia Novus, Hanako prepared to follow and join the fight.

"Is the Telemachus back yet?" Hanako asked Nika.

Meanwhile, in the medical bay, Blueberry had just finished setting Sune's bone. The cast went on without any hitches. "I should get ready for damage control," she told him, grabbing the helmet for her EPJs. She planted a kiss on Sune's cheek. "I'm glad you're okay," she told him before exiting the medical lab.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

Takeyu didn't say a word about the announcement, only that he was hoping to repair something soon. As he entered engineering he took the sight in, it was a beautiful thing to see.

He glanced about the room and approuched Nitô Hei Kumiko, he wasn't to certain what to say but knew he couldn't just stand there. "Taisa told me to assist you or the Nitô Heisho in anyway I can," he told her.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

Kumiko glanced back towards Takeyu. "Well, if that's the case, go ahead and access one of the other panels. I'll assume that she's already given you permission to do that much. We're currently assigned to damage control. And I don't think I caught your name, so why don't you go ahead and tell me?" With that, Kumiko went, and got out an Environmental Suit, in case they were needed for firefighting.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

"Takeyu, Santô Hei Nayacesen Takeyu," said Takeyu as he walked over to a panel and brought it online. He looked at the information, various types of details from how the reactor was operating, to engine statuses.

He then glanced over his shoulder toward Kumiko. "If I may ask, what is your name?"

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

Finishing putting on his uniform again, Mikael went to pull the IV stuck into his wrist out. But he had a feeling he would regret doing that later on, he decided to leave it in and just grab the bag the IV tube was coming out of. Before he hobbled his way completely out of the medical lab, he looked over at Konoka and kinda smiled. "Glad the little bugger is ok." he thought to himself.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

"Nito Hei Endoh Kumiko. Don't worry, you don't have to be so formal with me." She quickly suited up. "You probably want to go ahead and put one of these on though. You don't want to have to worry about it if we're in the middle of something." She moved back to her terminal, and tapped some commands, shifting power priorities to life support first, then combat systems.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

"Nice to meet you," he said and suited up; making certain he did it right the first time. When he was done he smiled weakly. "Sorry, I'm used to respecting everyone around me - family upbringing and all," he said before taking a seat at another panel and began to monitor the engine status and reactor readings.

"Let's see, make sure no abnormal reading are here... and none there.." he said to himself as he kept his eyes on the power readings.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

"Weapons and Shields are up Taisa. All systems green." Nika confirmed, watching the shifting battle while waiting for the shuttle to return from the station.

Wes said:
"Is the Telemachus back yet?" Hanako asked Nika.

"The shuttle is still at the station Taisa. Pineapple has received the Chusa's last location and attempting the retreive her as well as the VIPs."

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

Sune took a medical cane out of supplies and left the medbay and headed for the bridge. Even though he was still clad in the remnants of the Elysian disguise, he did not want to take the time to change.

He walked onto the bridge and made his way to the Science station. As he passed Hanako he said, "Taisa, Yarani-Hei reports that the Chusa was dead when he left her." He then continued to his station, and logged into the terminal.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

After a few moments of completely spacing out from all the stress Ramiro shook himself back to full alertness, remembering he had a job to do. He rushed to the bridge and planted himself into the seat in front of his station. He pulled up the ship control interfaces along with radar. "Nika, update?" He continued to pull up the normal interfaces needed to pilot the ship and then used the radar to single out enemy targets, concentrating more on the ships that seemed larger. He then narrowed what he had down some more until he had a list of 5-6 ships that seemed to be most important. He then sent the data over to Nika's terminal. "These seem to be the most important ships in the NMX fleet, most likely flag ships and heavy cruisers."

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

"The shuttle is still at the station Taisa. Pineapple has received the Chusa's last location and attempting the retrieve her as well as the VIPs."
"The station is already destroyed," Hanako said. "Do you mean the shuttle didn't make it out?"
"Taisa, Yarani-Hei reports that the Chusa was dead when he left her."
"I see," Hanako said.

Meanwhile, the NMX ships all decided to leave, vanishing in hyperspace flashes. The remaining Elysian ships did, too. It was obvious where they were going; everyone was heading to the huge battle at Elysia Novus.

Hanako looked at the fields of debris. She really wanted to rummage through the wrecked starships and rescue survivors...however she knew, for the sake of the Elysian people, the Eucharis' firepower was needed in the battle.

"Jalen," Hanako ordered, "signal command that Veritas has been utterly lost, and that search and rescue ships are needed here."

She turned to Ramiro and Nika next. "Scan for the shuttle."

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

"Nika, update?"
"All mission members are accounted for... except for our Chusa and the VIPs. Pineapple remained at the station with the shuttle to look for them..."

Nika felt the vibrations, and adverted her view to the station, watching in shock as it started to blow up and fall apart. She quickly divert energy to the rear shield, and braced for impacts as debris deflected off the energy wall. The sensors too were temporary knocked out.

"Taken note, but the battle here is over..." The sensor finally came back online showing ships from both sides were leaving the area to support the bigger battle at Elysia Novus.

Hanako turned to Ramiro and Nika next. "Scan for the shuttle."
"I'm on it Taisa!" Nika retrieved the frequency data of the Telemachus and started tracking it. She sighed in relief when the sensors picked up the shuttle's presence, however, it was heading towards a straggling NMX escort ship which was preparing to warp out, "Taisa, the Telemachus managed to get out of the station, but I doubt Pineapple is piloting it..." She pulled up the sensor interface, showing Hanako the direction the shuttle is heading to...
