Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

Sune rapidly composed a message, he ensured that the message was accurate but would not provide any information on the Eucharis status. He transmitted it via subspace.

Listening to the flow of information coming from the other on the bridge, Sune took a moment to plot the flight path of the Telemachus, its rate of travel, then added in the Eucharis trajectory, and velocity. He then tried to calculate an intercept vector, but the distance and speeds were too great.

Sune then turned to face Hanako. "Taisa, while it would be more desireable to persue the Telemachus and attempt to capture it. It is unlikely that we could engage it before it flew into a NMX vessel. Should we not consider that is has been taken over by hostile forces and fire upon it?"

Sune paused for a moment before continuing, "It would be a more humane fate than what any civilians, or Star Army Personnel can expect at the hands of the Mishhuvurthyar. We can restore our missing personnel from their mental backups." Sune offered.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

"I must agree with you, Jalen Heisho," Hanako grimly replied. "Destroy the shuttle before it reaches the NMX ship," she ordered the starship operators. "When that is done, take us to Elysia Novus to join the battle. We will attempt to meet with the rest of our squadron there."

I'm sorry, Pineapple.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

Takeyu's eyes glanced up at the ceiling; though he couldn't see it, he did briefly feel the vibrations of the station exploding. "Blast... guess I won't be able to recover anything I was issued..." he said with a heavy sigh before turning his attention back to his station.

"From here, I wonder where we are headed next," he pondered aloud.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

Ramiro listened to the orders and updates being yelled back and forth. After the shouting was don he took a moment to process all of the information when it had occured to him that he had just been issued a order. "Aye, Taisa." Ramiro spun around in his chair to face his station before pulling up the space map. Ramiro plotted a quick course towards Elysia Novus and set the hyperspace fold drives into standby. He then called out behind him, "The ship is ready for departure, awaiting confirmation that the Telemachus before initiating hyperspace."

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

In the medbay a bandaged Tasuku walked painfully over to a display panel.

"Charisma show me the nearest open mission critical duty station, and/or my current duty shift."

Bandages wrapped around Tasuku's head covering his left eye and his body was sore with multiple small wounds, but he couldn't sit in the medbay any longer than was absolutely necessary.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

With the speed the shuttle was going, the only weapon which could reach that range would be the main cannon. Nika shook her head grimly as she took aim, taking notice of the ship's speed and trajectory.

"To those in the shuttle... I'm sorry..."

Steading the aim with both hands, she pressed the trigger...

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

Tasuku said:
"Charisma show me the nearest open mission critical duty station, and/or my current duty shift."
"Ittô Hei Yarani Tasuku, your place is on the bridge," the ship's voice answered.

The shuttle disintegrated into dust in a the ray of blinding white light briefly emerging from the Eucharis's dagger-like main weapon array, killing everyone aboard in under a second.

Now it was time for battle.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

Making his way from the medical lab to the power armor bay, Mikael looked for the nearest terminal to access to determine his duty status. He figured he might as well start prepping his suit for combat, but beyond that he was clueless. "I really hate being the only grunt on board...I feel so out of place." Mikael thought to himself, wincing in some pain from the movement.

"Charisma, please show my current duty status as well as my duty shift for the next week." Mikael said once he reached a terminal and inputted all that was required to operate the system.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

Ramiro flinched as he watched the shuttle get destroyed. I'm sorry Chusa, he thought as he started at the cloud of dust. He shook it off quickly, remembering that every good soldier understands that there will be losses. He double checked that all the coordinates were correct, and entered the command to send the ship into hyperspace. "Alright Taisa, we're en route to Elysia Novus. Any orders in the meantime?"

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

As the Eucharis entered hyperspace Sune performed a long range scan. Seeing nothing in the immediate vicinity he turned to Hanako. "Taisa, with you permission, I would like to take a few minutes to put on a proper uniform as well as check on Konoka-Hei's recovery in the medbay."

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

"Don't worry about it, I figured I'd let you know. Most people on the ship are fairly relaxed, but just remember to get permission; I doubt that will be a problem for you though." She continued monitoring the screen for any unusual fluctuations in power or the general control.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

"Not a problem, last thing I want is to accidently insult someone," he said and continued to monitor the reactor.

As he did so; a curious thought came to him. "If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been on this ship?" he asked.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

I've actually been here for a decent amount of time now; this is my third mission with the Eucharis. Though, I've served in other positions in the military." She shrugged. "How about you? Have you been around much?"

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

"Charisma, please show my current duty status as well as my duty shift for the next week." Mikael said once he reached a terminal and inputted all that was required to operate the system.

"Taisa, with your permission, I would like to take a few minutes to put on a proper uniform as well as check on Konoka-Hei's recovery in the medbay."
"I am activating the emergency blast shutters throughout the ship, but I will leave them unlocked. You need to shut them behind yourself as you."

Eucharis entered the battle in a flash of light and was immediately in the midst of hundreds...no, thousands of starships, in a thick web of missile contrails, anti-matter beams, aether blasts, and billions of debris pieces from missing bolts and armor plates to large burning chunks of starships.

"Try to keep us from running into things," Hanako ordered.

Outside, the ship's AA turrets automatically began firing on NMX battle pods, focusing on the torpedo bombers since they were the ones to worry about.

"Maximize our rate of fire to hit with the most damage on the most dangerous enemies. Ramiro, can you spot those ideal targets from back at Veritas?" Hanako asked. "Or any ideal targets?"

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

A nervous smile tugged on the edge of Takeyu's face. "Not long to be honest, this would be my first duty station, provided the Taisa approves of me that is," he said and let out a nervous sigh. He was in fact nervous about that part.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

"Aye Taisa," Sune replied as he made his way off the bridge. Closing each of the shutters behind him as he made his way, he stopped at his cabin. He took out a clean serviceable uniform from his locker, then after removing the air cast, quickly put the uniform on.

Once the uniform was in place, he put the cast back on. He felt better with his proper clothing, and his sidearm and gear in place. Sune left his room and made his way to the medbay. His progress was slowed slightly because of having to open and close each of the shutters.

Once in the medbay Sune crossed over to where Miyazawa lay. Her condition was much improved due no doubt to her Nekovalkyrja metabolism and the IV cocktail that Blueberry had given her. She should be up and around shortly.

With the ship going into combat Sune felt it prudent to secure Miyazawa to the bed. He left her arms free so that when she did awake she would be able to release herself.

Time to get back to the bridge, he thought.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

"Well, I would say don't worry about it; she accepted me on board after all. But, seeing as we're going into battle, you get your first trial under fire." She started tapping keys, ensuring that power flow was kept steady. "Just stay on your toes, and make sure that you're ready to run if we need to. We're the guys who keep the ship running by any means necessary."

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

"No problems with that," said Takeyu as he eyed the reactor status. "Just tell me where the damage is and I'll be there to repair it," he smiled.

His mind raced with various scenarios that could play out in a battle; he mentally prepared himself in the event they had a hull breach, or in case the reactor suddenly ran into problems - all of which were scenarios he was too accustomed to.

Re: [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas

A squadron of four NMX Destroyers locked on to the Eucharis and began firing their turreted cannons. The gunship shuddered as some of the positron beams slammed into the ship's shields. Hanako growled in irritation, expecting better than this from her bridge crew. This battle was a soup sandwich. The Star Army was much better on the offensive than defensive...and the NMX knew this. Of course, the Elysian capital wasn't an acceptable loss.

"Our shields will not last long against four ships. Nika and Tasuku, see if we can avoid their fire and signal get our squadron to over here," Hanako quickly ordered. "In the meantime, Ramiro, fire continuously on their squadron leader."

Ramiro nodded towards the Taisa and looked forward at his station. "Charisma, please scan through the fleet attacking us and find the ship that is most likely the squadron leader, probably the largest and with most firepower." He watched his radar as one of the ships was highlighted a second color. He closed the interfaces for ship controls and opened the ones for weapons. He paused for a moment looking around his screen, as Nika was usually the one to handle weapons and he wasn't used to using them. He found the controls for the main cannon and started charging. Once the cannon was fully charged he carefully aimed at the top part of the NMX ship, right around where the bridge usually was. Once the main cannon had fired he pulled up the interface for the anti-air turrets and set them to fire more rapidly, but not to quickly as to require any power rerouting.
