RP: YSS Eucharis [Mission 8.3] Escape From Veritas / Battle of Elysia Novus

Mikael flew around Engineering like a mad man taking his extinguisher to snuff the life of every fire he saw. He only started to speed up even more when he remembered the fire no doubt still raging in the wardroom. He finally breathed a slight sigh of relief when he killed the last fire he saw after looking at every nook and cranny he could see in and around Engineering.

"Ma'am, the fires where have been exterminated. I am on my way to the wardroom to combat the fire there." Mikael said when he saw Blueberry busy with repairs. Not entirely sure she even heard him, he rushed out of Engineering towards the main passageway. And once again he began to pull himself upwards towards Deck 2.

Swapping out extinguishers at a damage control station on Deck 3, once he arrived on Deck 2 again, he took a deep breath and once again rushed in to combat the first fires he saw.

Nika coughed painfully as the cool air flowed into her injured lungs, eyes hurt as it had not recovered from the temperory blindness. Several areas of her arms and legs felt like someone had prodded her with a red hot cast iron...


Thanks to the nano-machines within her body, Damage Control was an on-going process. As her eyes slowly recovered from the blindness caused by the explosion, Nika sat up painfully to assess her situation.

"So much for being trigger-happy..." She sighed under her laboured breaths, examined her burns as well as the conditions of her uniform, which was burnt in several places. "At least I'm better of than someone else..." Nika turned to see the badly injured Konoka on a bed next to hers.

"I can't... rest now..." She got off the bed, wincing from the pain caused by the burns, which were slowly healing, and made her way to the recreation room; not before taking a shot of painkillers.

"Taisa... I'm still able... where do you... need me..." Nika requested as she entered the room, looking around.

 

[Nashoba]

Sune initiated a ship wide scan and system check, with all the damage the Eucharis had taken he wanted to know if there were any other critical damages and any injured crewman to rescue. He noted Nika's arrival, What is it about this crew that they refuse to get proper medical attention? Well, if they are going to stay here, they need to suit up.

"Valencia, Himeya if the two of you are going to insist on staying here instead of the medbay. Put an AMES on, as damaged as the ship is, we could easily lose atmosphere."

Sune turned back to his readout, there were several compartments that were already vented to vacuum. “Blueberry-Juni, do you have anyone working in the cargo bay? The system monitors are showing that someone just opened up the blast shutter to the Cargo bay.”

 

[Wes]

"There should not be anyone in there, since Pineapple is...not yet restored," Blueberry replied to Sune. Before she could say anything else, one of the intruders opened the door and shot Blueberry with a stun blast. She fell to the scorched floor as the intruder tossed a satchel charge under the main aether generator's power output cables and without stopping flew up into the power systems room where the capacitors were.

"Try not to strain yourself, Nika," said Hanako. "I think we are about to leave...to be honest I am scared of losing another starship. It has happened too many times already when I have been...too bold."

"Sune, transmit your findings to the Elysians and see if they can make use of them."

On deck two, Mikael arrived to find the crew lounge filled with smoke. He arrived just in time to stop the fire from spreading down the stairs. The wardroom was still burning. Through the haze, he saw Blackberry (in an AMES suit) going for the fire hose from the crew lounge's firefighting station.

"I think all the VIPs are dead," the neko told him.

 

[Nashoba]

Sune transmitted the sensor scan that he had run to the Elysian group that saved the Eucharis.

"Blueberry... Juni... respond... Juni... respond..." Sune could hear noises coming from the intercom so the channel was open. He turned to Hanako, "Taisa, I believe we may have been boarded. I detected someone opening the shutter to the cargo bay a moment ago. I was talking to Blueberry and she said no one from her team was there, then she stopped talking... I believe I heard a weapon discharge. I could not get a response from her."

 

[Gabriel]

Ramiro sat down at his station and started to plug in a route back to Yamatai. Once the route was imputed he set the ship into standby. As he went over to put on an AMES, as Sune suggested, he eavesdropped on the commands and conversations plying around, as he usually chose to. When he overheard Sune asking about the cargo bay Ramiro spun around and looked over Sune's shoulder at the results of the scan, thinking to himself that there were too many life readings to be coming from just one or two people. Ramiro had his NSP out in the flash of an eye. He double checked to make sure it was set to a normal blast, the quickly made his way over to the AMES suits. He grabbed one for himself, then tossed another to Nika. He quickly put his on, making sure to take is NSP holster off and put it back on on the outside of the suit. As he sat back down at his station he turned to the Taisa.

"Ma'am, if there is an intruder on the ship I personally don't believe we should head back to Yamatai as it would be risking the entire fleet there to sabotage. If you'll allow me I'll volunteer to help our infantry specialist in suppressing this problem, ma'am."

 

[Kyle]

Takeyu felt the warmth of the engine as it finally came online; the welds held and the power cables showed a positive, clean stream of power. "Perfect, I better head back to engineering and help there," he said and quickly took off down the passageway.

 

[Aendri]

Kumiko pushed herself up into a sitting position, then winced, putting a hand to her head. Was I knocked out? She felt around her head, and did, indeed, find a bump. What happened? She looked around, seeing all of the damage to the bay. Did someone already come by and put out the fires? Slowly standing up, she kept a hand on her head. "Nayacesen-Hei? Where are you? What happened to the bay?"

"I will take care of the fire here, ma'am." Mikael said as he went over to help her with the hose. He eye'd her AMES suit and made a mental note to put his on once he took care of the fire still raging in the wardroom. "I do not know where the VIPs are located and I am already zipping around this ship playing Smoky the Nepleslian Grizzly Bear."

 

[Wes]

"No, I have this," Blackberry said, amazed Mikael was able to talk or even stay conscious in the smoke-filled room. She took up a position about halfway up the stairs and sprayed the hose's water and foam up into the wardroom.

Explosions in engineering rocked the ship and cut off power to everything but the engines, including the computer. The bridge had dedicated controls, but no one was there. The ship was adrift now, caught in the gravity field of Elysia Novus and drifting closer.

"Take care of it," Hanako ordered Ramiro, unhooking from the now-unless VR chair. The ship shuddered as an NMX torpedo went off close by. "If you see one of the technicians tell them I need them to get some power to the ship so I can control her. They can use the aether generators in the damage control stations or perhaps a shuttle's power." Hanako then got on the sound-powered telephone system and tried to contact the technicians around the ship by calling various emergency room phones.

"Sune, go with him. He may need help depending on their numbers. Unless they're suicidal they will probably attempt to steal our shuttles, power armors, or use an escape pod."

 

[Gabriel]

Ramiro nodded to the Taisa before jumping up from his station. He ran out of the room, weapon ready in case someone decided to jump them. He entered the zero-gravity corridor and worked his way upward. "The Taisa said they'd most likely go for power armor or try to take over the ship. I suggest we start in the armory and power armor bay, then work our way downward toward engineering." He opened one of the blast door, keeping his weapon ready, then cut through the lounge and cabin area over to the armory. He paused for a second before he stood off to the side of the doorway, waited for Sune to take up a good position, then pressed the button to open the blast door.

 

[howlam]

Nika nodded to Hanako as Ramiro tossed the former a AMES suit, which she tried her best in putting them on, ignoring the pain as the suit abrased against her burnt skin. Just as she finished putting on the suit, an explosion rocked the ship, causing all power to be cut off.

"Taisa, with your permission, shall I head back to the bridge and attempt to get the ship moving? I know it has been hit, but there should still be a console or two still working..."

 

[Kyle]

Takeyu stumpled as the ship was rocked by the explosion in engineering. "What the heck was that!?" he wondered aloud and looked around, several new fires popped up in his area.

He was about to head off to a damage control station when he heard a phone nearby; he searched the passageway until he came upon a room where he found an active phone.

Picking it up with his free hand he kept his answer on the door and answered it. "Santô Hei Nayacesen Takeyu here," he said.

 

[Nashoba]

"Right away Taisa," Sune responded to Hanako.

He left the now non-functional station, and joined Ramiro in the hallway. "I would say that they are not going to Engineering, our current status says they already have been there. We just have to prevent them escaping. The Power Armor bay and or Shuttle bay are the logical escape routes for them. They both afford them greater mobility, and in the case of the PA's offensive capabilities. So as you suggested the Armory first to secure it and get more firepower. Then we can check the bays."

Once in a position to provide cover fire for Ramiro, with his NSP poised and the lamp on it illuminating the way he said, "Move I have you covered."

 

[Wes]

"Taisa, with your permission, shall I head back to the bridge and attempt to get the ship moving?"

The fires in there may be out by now, but finding a working control panel might not be possible. I suppose it is worth a look. Be careful, there are intruders aboard.

"Santô Hei Nayacesen Takeyu here."

"This is the captain," Hanako replied. Her voice sounded a little distant and muffled, since she had to talk though her helmet. "I need power restored to the ship's control systems. Give me a way to fly the ship, and a way to see where we are going. Can you do it? We do not have a lot of time."

Up ahead, Ramiro and Sune saw their worst nightmare. An unfamiliar Nekovalkyrja glared at them for a fraction of a second before her helmet went on, leaving them facing up against Misaki's Mindy 1H power armor. The neko pointed her wrist-cannon at them...

 

[Kyle]

Takeyu listened and nodded his head, even though he knew she couldn't see it. "No problem Taisa, I can do that, was there anything more am'am?" he asked politely yet seriously and kept the phone up to his ear.

I'd need an Aether generator, if I remember right, there should be a damage control station near the cargobay. I'm not to far from there anyway, after which I can quickly connect it up then access a terminal and start rerouting systems, though I do hope there intact lines, he thought.

Mikael nodded and then rushed down to the nearest location to put on an AMES suit.

 

[Nashoba]

Sune's eyes grew wide when he spotted the intruder wearing the Mindy. His NSP would be pretty much useless against the armor, but he knew he had to try something. Assessing his condition and Ramiro he easily saw that his team mate with two good legs had the better chance to get to safety.

He thumbed the NSP to Heavy mode, and sent a brief encrypted telepathic message to Hanako. Taisa, at least one of the intruders has acquired one of our Mindy's. I am going to attempt to distract the intruder so Valencia can get to safety. "Ramiro, get your ass to safety and find another way around to the armory." He yelled as he pushed himself into the center of the passage way.

He aimed his NSP at the Mindy's helmet and pulled the trigger. He intended to keep firing until the weapon was empty or he was dead or unconscious. "Get the hell off my ship you freaking Mishhu scum.." He yelled.

The chances of the NSP getting through the PA's shields if up was nil even if the shields were not up the armor was formidable. Sune knew it but it was better to go down fighting so that his friend could get away.

 

[Gabriel]

Ramiro stared for a moment as he watched the helmet to the Mindy go on. When he saw the wrist cannon rising towards them he did what he thought to be the most logical thing and shut the blast door, locking it. "Hopefully that will keep that bastard busy for a while. Let's go." Ramiro darted out back to the 0-G Passageway, closing and locking each blast door the moment Sune was through. Once in the passageway he paused and turned to Sune. "What other ways are there into the armory, the only option I can think of is if we cut through the shuttle bay, up into storage, then into the armory. And our infantry needs to be contacted and told to get into power armor, that's our best way of taking that thing out."

 

[howlam]

Nodding to Hanako, Nika adjusted her helmet and left the recreation room towards the bridge. Her NSP already in hand as she navigate through the passageways carefully, looking around corners for anyone or anything that might ambush her.

"So far so good..." She sighed with relief as the door to the bridge came into view. Eventhough she had arrived at her destination, Nika could not enter.

"With the main power cut, the door to the bridge cannot be open... unless..." The neko went to the control panel to the side of the door. Setting her gun to stun, she opened the panel and fired a charge into the exposed circuit. Sure enough, the door shuddered and opened just enough for Nika to squeeze through...
