RP: YSS Aeon [Mission 8.5] Getting to know the Neshaten

Vui'ye looked at Yoshiro, and then Sheela. "This installation was placed here specifically because we are studying groundshakes among other things. Looking at methods of predicting them to avoid loss of life is important to us. This facility was constructed to withstand a magnitude 11 groundshake. We also have labs here where we are testing construction methods and technologies to reduce the loss of life in the event of a major event."

"Squeak! Fine?!" Sheela let go of the Daur and turned to face Yoshiro, "Iz almost died!" Exclaimed in her irritating squeaky voice. She was nervous as all get out now and wanting to get back to her beloved ship she so jealously and dedicated in keeping it in fine shape. But this was totally out of her paws and only quakes she felt in her past were species induced from major explosion; but when a planet that was suppose to be very stable began to shake. It was time to leave. She missed what Vui'ye had said as she spoke at the same time and focused on getting back to the ship that every language, except Mousian, was incomprehensible. "Squeak, squeal'es squolies sqok!"

By her hyperactive movements and gesturing it was obvious she was physically fine, just rattle by experiencing something new. Her whip-like tail wiggled and squirm behind her, nearly hitting those behind her that was close by. Her tail did smack one of those bunny-like rodents, (her point of view).

"Sheela, stand down! Sit and relax for a moment." Yoshiro nearly shouted but managed to keep his composure. "We are here on a diplomatic mission and you getting angry is not helping us do it properly. You need to just sit and relax." He went silent for a few seconds. "I know that this is a bit scary but we need to press through our fear and make a good impression on them."

He hoped that he hadn't overstepped his bounds but he felt a need to try and help Sheela, even though he was a bit frightened about that quake himself. He had automatically gone into help mode to make sure that everyone was okay even though no one was hurt but now that he knew more about this facility he wasn't too worried.

Saki was taken back a bit by the shaking at first. So she quickly jumped up a bit and used her gravity control to keep up in the air. She quickly scanned the surrounding, her hand going to the hilt of her sword. It was no attack though, jut a natural thing. As soon as the shaking stopped she landed again, letting go of her blade.

"I am fine," Saki replied to Yoshiro. She then turned to Sheela and turned her translator for a moment. "Try acting like a soldier for a bit. Soldiers don't panic, they asses situation and behave accordingly. We are all fine, no need for hystery now."

Turning her translator back on, Saki looked at Vui'ye. "This place needs to be important if you built on a fault line and willing to make it trough the quakes."

Sheela took a deep calming breath as words were finally soaking in. "Squea.. Iz fine." She was the tough explorer scout of the MIDF SASS and Yamataian Soldier Tech. She looked enviously at Saki's ability to hover off the ground like she did. "Thank yooz, Yoshiro, Saki - Hei." Softly for she had gotten 'soft' in her thinking as she focused more and more on Technology, instead of keeping her mind sharp and letting training take over in high stress times such as this. She had a new enemy to deal with on this planet and it seams that the Neshatens were just extending hospitality to them on a more relaxing level.

Sheela turned to the Daur she had a death grip on before, "Iz apologize hurting yooz." She spoke softly in a pleasant tone as she gave a regal curtsy to the Daur she was with.

When Sheela had gripped onto the Daur, it was at first meet with surprise, then followed by a burst of laughter from the group and others around. When she had let go the laughter, however, continued and was meet with some tears from those taking part, after awhile though, it died down and people began to return to their normal routines. When Sheela's tail meet the Ure'nese, the creature at first was stunned by the impact before he turned around and chomped down on the tail - thinking it was some kind of foreign creature that had attacked it.

"SQUICK!" Sheela exclaimed using the tone for swearing when the Ure'nese bit her tail. She attempted to kick it hard and send it flying. "Squeeeee...." Inspecting her tail, "Iz hope it don't have rabies!" Dreading the shots that sent a visible shudder through her. Being of animal nature, Rabies was a sure death sentence unless caught in time.

Araan bounced with the shock slightly but caught himself against the wall, looking to the other members of his team. Sheela began to ramble about the dangers of building in a geologically active area. Her high-pitched squealing caught him off guard, but he simply shook that off as well, then turning to Yoshiro as he called for a status check.

"Fine over here, found a nice corner to rest in." The man replied with a little snarkiness to his tone before pushing forward and assisting in checking on the others in the room.

The Kits looked over themselves for a moment, then one of them placed a hand up near their ear and nodded. "Looks like things are fine," the Kit - a young Laibe - said and collasped both hands behind their back. "Although it seems a minor collapse did happen in the number thirteen tunnel, no injuries reported just some equipment was damaged, but that can be replaced," they smiled.

Upon hearing Sheela's outburst, the Kit who she had clung to blinked rather confusingly. "What is... Rabie's?" she asked.

"It's a virus that makes one go feral and afraid of water. Any water." Sheela turned to the one that spoken to her. "It attacks the nervous system and left unchecked, begins to effect the mind." Her eyes gone wide at hearing the question giving her pause after the brief explanation. "... You never heard of Rabies?" She began to look for the nearest exit to head back to the ship they came in on.

The Kit tapped her little chin for a moment before she looked at if a thought came to her. "Ah! You mean Crhi'tehrene Syndrome," she collasped her hands behind her back. "At least that's what you've described," the Kit did look a bit confused, or prehaps, just curious if that was correct at all. "Ure'nese are hardy though, its rare for them to have that problem," as the Kit said this, the Ure'nese that had nibbled on Sheela's tail hoped up onto the Kit's shoulder and smiled at Sheela.

"We should get moving," Vui'ye said to the others in the group. "Is there any place our guests would be interested in seeing? Military facilities excluded of course," he winked, he didn't have that level of authorization.

"Why? That's where the best tech is at." Sheela gave Vui'ye a cheeky smile. "And after all Iz am a tech. Seeing how wez may become Allies. Wez gotta see if ourz tech is compatible with yooz. Iz am sure that Iz can get a small group of yooziz techs aboard ourz ship for a tour."

"If you don't mind, I would like to help you with your security duties. I want to see more of the places that I can go see if at all possible." Yoshiro said to one of the kits.

Sheela calmed down quickly once she and everyone else was alright. Even the Neshatens. As her attention was focused more on seeing new technologies of a new species of Canines. And to be denied the right to see it, even if it was of military nature. It roused her more larcenous side of her to find a way to view it.

As the old saying went; 'Curiosity killed the cat, Satisfaction brought the cat back.' In her case, Mousian.

Saki did not talk for a while, letting shenanigans ensure around. She smiled a bit as the Mousian was bitten by the cute little critter, luckily they both took it well. Mousian the bite and the the cabbit creature being kicked away.

"Well we are here to make friends." Saki said, when they were asked about what they want to see. "So how about a place where you relax or see how you relax."

Vui'ye tapped his lower chin for a moment and then glanced off to one side in thought. "Well, we do have a recreational lounge; quite a large one actually which is located right above the main hanger. I hope none of you are afraid of heights," the Daur grinned, looking back at the Aeon crew as he gestured for them to follow him through a door.

The others, the group of Kit's whom were all on security. "Well, you wanted to join us!" one Kit smiled and pointed toward another door. "Follow! Follow!"

Sheela teamed up with Yoshiro to be given the chance to see more of the base. Also with a chance to slip away to do more exploring on her own.

Yoshiro followed the security kits and waited for them to take him and Sheela to whereever they were working on their shift. "This facility is not your only one like this, I assume? You have to do other research right?" Yoshiro asked.

Arai Saki simple put her hand on the handle of her sword, not in intimidating way, she was just resting her hand on it. With a nod she fell in with the kits, walking in a slower pace. She was in fact taller than them, which was something she really was not used to. Even the adults were fairly short, not counting the large kitsune being. It seemed that nekoes would stop being on the receiving end of short jokes pretty soon.

Security Detail - Kits

They lead Arai and the others through a winding maze of hallways, occasionally stopping to check a vent or inspect a wall panel before moving on. "Does get boring doesn't it?" one of the kit spoke up suddenly, breaking the silence that had fallen over the group. "Sometimes I just wish something would happen," the female kit collasped her hands behind her neck, soon the group would find themselfs in a transparent tunnel that spanned across a very large hanger bay beneath, dozens of vehicles moved from one point to another, some even headed toward another tunnel that lead to who knows where while others seemed to be moving crates from a landed transport. "This is one of the facilities hangers, its massive..." the girl walked up to a window and peered straight down, it seemed none of the kits were afraid of heights - well - almost none of them, one Daur Kit choose 'not' to walk out onto the walkway.

Recreation Lounge Group

Vui'ye lead his own group down a rather luxurious looking hallway, water cascaded from the top of the ceiling, running down the side of the wall, and collecting on basins on the floor - plants grew from various points of the ceiling. The place smelled rather nice, despite being several feet underground inside of a freezer, the tempreture in this room was relatively mild. A group of Ure'nese appeared from a side vent, they were chasing something that looked like a rodent, said rodent soon disappeared into another vent - closely followed by the Ure'nese. Vui'ye didn't say a word about that, instead he walked up to a set of large double doors and gently pushed them open. "This here is our recreational lounge," the room was quite large compared to other area's of the base - in fact - it was larger than even the main entryway that the group had come to first hand. There were dozens of workers here right now, many crowded around tables that holographic games being played on them, some that the Aeon crew might recognize while others they certainly wouldn't. There were large monitors perched on the walls, some showed the activity outside of the base, others showed activity inside the base - one particular monitor showed the hangerbay that the security detail was in.
