RP: YSS Aeon [Mission 8.5] Getting to know the Neshaten

Security Detail

Sheela hung on to the railing as she leaned out over the long drop to the floor way below them, looking at everything she could see. In ways it could pass for any subterranean hanger for ships. Only difference was the location and Sentient species running the place and going about their different chores and duties.

"Squeeee..." Sheela expressed softly. Thankful that the quake happen earlier, insteads of meters above the ground on a flimsy catwalk. She glanced up at the monitors when she had spotted them to see what they showed. Seeing herself with the Kits in one of the monitors, she waved to see herself wave back.

Kit's group.

Saki walked up to the kit in the window and looked down as well. She looked to the kit next to her and grinned.

"Gets boring eh?" The neko said as she sat on the edge of the window. She looked at the kit, then at Sheela and Yoshiro. Saki winked at the yamataian troops. She then leaned back and dropped outside of the window and away from sight.

The neko let herself fall for a second, before she activated her gravity abilites and stop mid-air. She turend herself up right and wait a bit more to let what happenes set itself into the Kit's brains. She then grinned again and flew up to the window again.

"Boo." She said as she appeared again.

Yoshiro was wondering what Saki was going to do as he was standing next to the kit that didn't seem to want to walk out in the tunnel. "Why aren't you with the others?" he asked with a gentle voice, showing concern for his new friend. He watched for a moment when she tried to surprise the kits that she was with but turned back to the kit he was speaking to. "Is something the matter?" He asked after a few moments of silence.

Security Detail

Saki's attempt at scaring one of the kits didn't work overly to well, the Kit merely looked at him with a grin, then leaned on a rail. "You'll have to try harder than that to scare us," one of them said before looking toward the entrypoint. "Hey Fuy'she'na, stop being a scaredy cat and join us!"

Fuy'she'na, the Kit whom Yoshiro had spoken to, took in a deep breath. "Last time I was on one of these, something happened... don't let them anymore, but..." she placed a foot onto the walkway and waited for a moment, then let out a sigh of relief and began to slowly walk toward the group, but then stopped nad looked at Yoshiro. "What about you?" she asked.

Below them, a large detail of security were beginning to show up - heading toward a landing pad that was flanked by four smaller ones.

Sheela took notice of the large security detail showing up on ground below them as she listened to the one kit urging another to join them that had fallen behind them. She watched them with interest.

"I don't know if you are asking me if I am afraid of heights or not so...I guess that I am not. I mean I fly in a big ship and fly around in power armor but if I was afraid all the time, I would be useless to my friends." He said to the kit. "I had to get over my fear and now look at me. I am exploring planets and getting to meet new people." He noticed something going on below him and decided to ask. "What is that going on below us?" He said to the kit at the head of the group.

The kit blinked and looked downward toward the growing number of base security. "Ahhh," she let out as she placed a finger up near her ear piece and sent a quarie in. After a moment, the others in her group seemed distracted by the response she got and then all choose to pay more attention to what was going on beneath them than what was going on around them. "Her Majesty is visiting," the Kit unshouldered her rifle and knelt down, her eyes glancing across the bay.

The other kits in her group likewise did the same, one of them brought up a holographic display and tapped on it for a few moments - causing the protective barrier in front - and behind - to disappear, allowing them to overwatch the area more easily.

"Watch watch!" the Kit said with excitement. It wasn't long before one of the Kit's noticed the Emissary accompanying the Aeon's command staff, although their attention was soon taken when they heard the humm of engines in the distance, and watched as four starfighters and a single dropship entered the bay. The fighters took up a position on the four smaller landing pads while the dropship parked itself onto the larger one. By now, any area that had an opening and a window to the bay had someone behind it and watching.

Sheela leaned on the railing of the catwalk to watch with interest of the action unfolding below them. She took notice of the other of the Neshaten base personnel taking interest in the proceedings.

Saki lean over one of the kids to get better view of the screen. So the Neshaten had some kind of monarchy. It is interested how that was probably most common goverment type used in known universe. Kits only used Her Majesty, so the leader could be queen or empress, although maybe just some kind of higher ranking nobles. This was a bit confusing to Saki, as Yamatai did not have nobles persay, it just had Empress, few princesses and then shitload of important people with stick up their arse, who would make your life hell if you would not bow and pay them respect. Saki personally imagined that having a society with nobles was not all that much different.

"Hmm security seems pretty low for someone so important," Saki said, noting that there were only 4 fighters accompanying the shuttle. If it were up to her, she would have whole squadron be on escort duty and have a platoon of nekoes in Power Armour ready at the landing site. "Don't your nation have big trouble with terrorists?"

"We do," one of the kits responded as they leaned on the rails and watched. "However, she is more than capable of defending herself," the kit wasn't about to mention that the lack of security was just for appearances sake - in fact - there were several heavily armed security details in the bay already and a few hidden in darkened area's, My'leke equipped with sniper rifles high above and even a gunship or two that 'looked' like it was offline and parked but in reality it was online with a special detachment waiting inside in case anything happened.

"Although we are pretty far out from the capital," another Kit said. "So terrorism problems aren't exactly an issue this far out, although I am curious, who told you that we had those problems?"

"We did not come alone remeber?" Saki replied to the kits. After all one of their own lead them here. Saki frowned, studying the screen. Even though her majesty might know how to fight, it would not help if someone targeted the shuttle. Four fighters were not much of a defense screen against multiple missiled fired from concealed ground positions. Luckily it seems terrorist did not operate that way over here. It was probably not easy to get that kind of hardware.

"So these terrorists. They just operate in cells or do they have their own ships?" Saki asked. "We had some trouble with terrorist of our own all few years back. They tried to steal few of our ships, but we recovered them. Still worse thing than a terorrist with a gun or a bomb, is a terrorist with a warship."

"So that's your leader? Isn't she a bit young or am I missing something here?" Yoshiro asked the kit who he was talking to earlier. "Don't you guys have a security detail besides yourself for her?" He obviously missed the fact that not all security had to be something you could see.

Sheela eyes darted over the area and what was happening below. She listened to the others talk and discuss terrorist and terrorism. Even in this setting a terrorist had to be suicidal to attack royalty. She looked the place over in a way an assassin would look at the situation if that was their intended target with a chance of escape or to cause more confusion in the process before demise.

"All we are told is that they operate independently of each other, so taking one down doesn't mean we'll take others," one of the kits remarked with a heavy sigh. "It makes trying to deal with them rather bothersome," the skit whom had spoken then stretched their arms wide and glanced over at Saki. "I would hope that our terrorists havent' stolen any ships, that'd make it much - MUCH - harder to deal with them."

A different kit, upon hearing Yoshiro, watched the queen and smiled. "She is yes, and yea, she is actually the youngest Queen to date, which is good!" the Kit said with excitement. "Mean's she isn't prone to being stuck up by most adults are."

"What about you?" the kit looked between Yoshiro and Saki. "What is your government like? Do you have a Queen? A king? Do they go amongst the people and talk like ours does?" their eyes were bright and craving knowledge.

"Well we have and empress," Saki replied with a nod. She could have already see the difference. Here it seemed like Queen as much more like. Back home everyone listened to Empress, because she was Empress and because she was better than you. That is how it was. Nobles were better than you. Even when they were not.

"She does not go amon people often, sometimes she appears to make speech and things like that. We also have a Prime Minister who handles day to day things of the goverment." Saki added a little bit more info. Now PM, she was cool. Saki liked her a lot. It seemed she was actually trying to make Yamatai even better place, where most other seemed interested in just make everyone else know to not mess with Yamatai. Saki would prefer if Yamatai and other nations could be friendly allies. Not allies because it seemed like a good idea to dodge any future wars.
