Releasing his hand-hold on the shuttle; he allowed momentum to carry him forward. As this was happening, he watched the debris in the distance. "Maybe I was wrong," he told himself as the debris seemed to now appear to be moving at the speed as most of the debris in the area.
Originally, he had assumed that there was a weapon's emplacement hidden behind one of the larger chunks - a deadly surprise for anyone foolish enough to get to close.
Now, however, as he saw some of the pieces rotate into view - he didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, of course, he was only looking at the pieces he 'could' see, not those that he either couldn't or were shadowed by the warship.
