Sam's Grill, 2nd Squadron Docks

Takeyu nodded his head and looked up at the ceiling. As he sat there, and sent a message to the Ikoi's Megami, transferring the images of faces and voices and asking ships AI to cross reference the data with known criminals.

He waited a few short seconds before getting something back; he blinked and looked off to one side curiously. The Ikoi's Megami had returned some results, and a few of the voices now had faces to them.

Some of the voices and faces didn't return any results, leading Takeyu to assume that they either weren't criminals or had no citizenship within the Empire.

There was names he recognized, others he didn't, images that he had no clue about and other data that the Ikoi's Megami sent him that he would have to sort through, this would be a process that would take awhile and he knew it. I guess I can forget about talking to the Taisa tonight, but then again, if I rush headlong into this and make a mistake, it could be potentially costly

Wazu would follow Sune towards the shuttle bay, waiting until they were out of earshot of Hanako before asking, "So why the sword? Green-shirts do not normally carry them and it does not seem to be part of the standard uniform either?"

Junko frowned for a moment, before nodding slightly. “I think making this an official request might not be a bad idea. Though, in that case we should follow the proper forms. Write everything up formally, Nayacesen-Hei, and then bring it to me. As far as I’m aware,” she said, pausing to glance at Yaichiro, “with the Shosa assigned as an adviser, I think I’m still the head of the Engineering department, so I’d take your request to Jalen-Juni as XO and he would decide how to approach the Taisa with it. I don’t think approaching her directly is a good idea, especially if she is still busy with negotiations.” She shrugged, laying her napkin on the table. “I think avoiding any appearance of favoritism or abuse of authority is best, though of course none of this applies to the Shosa’s personal offer.”

Sune pause a moment before answering. "Its a fair question. I started working with the sword as part of my exercise routine. During our last several missions we've had a number of instances where we've had to deal with unorthodox situations. Like an infestation of NMX bugs that attack electronic circuits. An NSP is a good weapon, but in some places its not prudent to use. Consoles and such don't appreciate scalar radiation. So I decided to add the sword to my standard gear since sometimes a good blade is the best tool."

Takeyu was looking at the images and faces, when he heard the Heisho's comment and thought on her words. "True, I don't know how long it'll take me to get the request written up, and everything sorted. But once I've gotten it done, I'll let you know," he said to her.

Orion would follow after Jalen and Heram, wondering what their next course of action would be. Certainly he hadn't met all of the 4th AASP's crew, and some of them would be deployed down to Nepleslia's surface to ensure there would be no further conflicts.

The conversation regarding the sword would make Orion's mind wander off into new projects. An interesting idea would come to mind... As an engineer, his perception of the world was only a question of how it could be improved and what new things to add to it. Thankfully, Orion always came up with answers.

"The chain of command has always something which was more...flexible in my personal experience than perhaps it should have been, Heisho. Even as a Joto Hei on the Sakura, I was a de facto Chief Engineer with no official XO, so these things went straight to the Taisa. I thank you for reminding us of proper procedures."

That was the second time Junko had corrected him in spite of his rank, and the second time he felt she was in the right. She'd likely make a good officer one day -- if her superiors could differentiate between constructive commentary and insubordination. It also showed how much he still had to learn...or relearn, given the duration of his absence.

Once Wazu reached the shuttle he would climb up onto the wing and walk towards the open door. He was going to go inside, buckle in, and wait for the rest of his crew so the shuttle could return to the NSS Asp waiting for them outside of the star base but before he left he would leave three words of wisdom for Sune.

"Consider Bug Spray."

After Hanako watched Wazu enter the shuttle from a small floating screen, she got up from the wardroom table, adjusted her stockings a little, and then made her way over to Sam's Grill for some food and a meeting. On the way, she sent a telepathic text message to her crew. "Please assemble at Sam's Grill." She would announce the news there.

Once the captain entered the grill, she ordered a plate of coconut shrimp at the bar and took a seat at a table near the center, giving a friendly wave to Yaichiro, Takeyu, and the others present.

Orchid was still feeling panicky from the news. She had followed the rest of the diplomatic party back to the shuttle. She found herself a seat and buckled in. She wanted to know the details but she could see Wazu and Orion were ready to be off before details were discussed.

“Oh, uh, it's nothing, sir,” replied Junko. Thinking about his words for a moment, she colored slightly; depending on how her statement had been interpreted, she may have just grossly insulted the Shosa... again. “I, er, I didn't mean what I said as a criticism, sir, just a suggestion.”

She glanced around the restaurant, mouth open to continue with her apology when her eyes latched onto the Taisa, a convient excuse to rapidly disengage from the embarrassing topic at hand. Bowing in response to Hanako's wave, she considered the crew-wide telepathic message before turning back to her table-mates. “Should we maybe move to a table with more room?”

Yaichiro smiled, waving back to Hanako. It was a casual greeting rather than an official one, so he returned it with a casual one of his own rather than Junko's bow.

"Yes, I think we probably should move to a different table. She did have something to announce after all." Yaichiro said, picking up his drink and moving to sit at the same table as Hanako. The Shosa had already finished his food and he had the MEGAMI automatically deduct the cost of his meal if it was not covered by the Army. He then sent a telepathic message to Junko.

I would rather be reminded of such things from time to time than not, Heisho. I'm not so tied to rank that I am unable to take some healthy constructive criticism or recommendation. I was promoted a bit quickly to my rank, and must confess to being a bit rusty in the field. Take care to remember that other Officers may think differently than me on the matter though.

He smiled at the Taisa lightly, and waited for the others to come over for the ordered-though-casual meeting.

Junko had begun to push her plate away to follow the Shosa when his telepathic message arrived. She whipped her head around to stare at his back as he walked toward the Taisa. The message, on the whole, didn't seem to indicate that he had taken offense, although the the last sentence seemed to be a warning, if a slightly cryptic one. She stood, peering down at her once again uneaten food before stepping away from the table. “Coming, Nayacesen-Hei?” she asked, looking back.

"Coming!" he said suddenly and stood up. "My apologies, I had something on my mind," he smiled sheepishly and followed his two fellow engineers.

As he followed; his mind raced with a sudden thought. He had just had the Ikoi Megami scan a criminal database, wasn't there a chance the Taisa may have been informed? He wondered if such a system was in place or if there was even a reason 'to' inform his commanding officer since it wasn't a violation of protocal, as far as he knew, then again - security being the way it was, there was always the chance.

Sune watched the shuttle with the Nepleslian delegates depart. Once it was clear of the bay, he turned back to the the corridor. "Bug spray only works for bugs." he said with a chuckle.

He walked down the corridor and into an unused office. He sat at the terminal and connecting to Charisma, he sent his query back to Yamatai. He was waiting when Hanako's telepathic message came in. A moment later the screen displayed the results.
Query for all information on YSS Bouken, YSS Fortune, and YSS Venture...

YSS Bouken and other vessels were found 3 light years away north of Ohara. Vessels were located by SAoY from the 3XF. All vessels showed heavy damage. Energy signature was consistent with NMX weaponry.

Investigating team found the ships had been boarded. Signs of battle were present. Two bodies were found and identified: Komatsu Raia, Komatsu Jason

There was plenty of blood on the other ships, but no other bodies were recovered.
End of Report
Sune stared at the screen for a moment, immobile while his mind tried to grasp the reality of what he had read. The closest thing to a true family before he joined the Star Army was now gone. At the moment the only thing that Sune was feeling was blind rage. It was an emotion unlike anything he had experienced in his life, built upon the events aboard the NMX shipyard and fueled by this.

He spent a couple of minutes to regain his composure and to push the emotions away. He would have to take some time after this meeting to deal with them.

He switched off the screen, and stood up. He left the office and walked towards the location of the restaurant. He paused only long enough to use a restroom to check his appearance and clean his face. He walked about his hand on the sword hilt, gripped tight enough that his knuckles were turning white. But it gave him something to focus on.

He entered the restaurant and paused to take in the layout. Having located Hanako, he walked in, doing his best to keep his expression neutral. He approached her, and bowed.

"Our guests are safely on their way, Taisa." he said with a monotone voice, and took a seat at the end of the table.

Ding.

Victory Kuroki slipped into the Grill right after Sune, zipping up her short half-jacket. The sleeveless pvc top she was wearing was meant to show off her breasts in a rather direct way, but it wouldn't do to come off that way immediately. People liked a little bit of modesty every once in a while. Kuroki folded her sunglasses, scanning the crowd. There had to be one of those guys here, didn't there? The meeting probably wouldn't take that long.

Bingo, she thought to herself as she settled on a moving target. Donning a winning smile, she hung her sunglasses on the collar of her jacket and skip-jogged a few paces to fall in beside Takeyu.

"I think I owe you a drink," she said, soft brown eyes glittering, "After the meeting, of course. Takeyu, right?"

When Yaichiro sat next to her without asking, Hanako got the distinct feeling her personal space had been invaded and it irritated her. She did not say anything but she stopped savoring each shrimp and started thinking about the Nepleslian situation. She looked over to Sune. The man's face looked immeasurably tense.

She decided to get up rather than finish her meal. After waiting for the conversations to pause, she announced. "We have just received word that the heart of Nepleslia has been attacked. Their senate is in ruins and their military is on full alert. Our squadron will be available to help them if they need us...however unless they request our assistance I will be taking the ship on a different rescue mission, deep in NMX territory. A couple months ago a Plumeria-class Gunship from our fleet, the YSS Freedom, was lost. SAINT has traced the ship to HX-13 where it crashed and has alerted us to the presence of survivors there. Our mission will be to sneak in and extract them. This will be a volunteer mission. Unless you volunteer, you will remain here at the station."

Upon seeing Hanako's expression, Yaichiro backed off with an apologetic look, getting up and stepping back. She had wanted to meet everyone, right? Had the negotiations not gone well? Hanako wasn't always an easy person to understand...his mind went back to when she actually HISSED at him years ago, and how eating meals in her presence had been awkward for him since. How had he forgotten? he'd have to be more careful from now on...

When he heard about the mission, he pondered the matter, and the condition of the Eucharis...as for the mission, how could they actually say no to something like this? It was one of their obligations as SAoY soldiers, regardless of if it was a specific assignment from the higher-ups or not...

"Taisa, are we waiting for the Eucharis to be fully repaired for this mission, or are we taking a different ship in the Squadron out for this one?"

Sune listened to Hanako relate to the crew the recent events in Nepleslia. But what got his attention more was the subject of a Rescue Mission. Sneaking around the Mishhu again..... I would rather kill them than duck them. But not an option. he thought.

He listened to Yaichiro's question. Sune new that the Eucharis was patched together, but with the ship in the Ikoi bay, she would hopefully come out as good as possible.

Another SAINT sponsored mission, if things go as they have previously the Mishhu will be waiting for us. I am getting tired of skulking around only to find out we were expected. He thought.

"You may consider me a Volunteer Taisa. Is it safe to presume that SAINT will provide us with whatever intelligence they have on HX-13 in the way of NMX forces?" He said keeping his emotion from his voice.

"Aye," Takeyu smiled and gave a curt bow to Victory Kuroki and was going to ask her about the drink when he heard what the Taisa said. A mission deep into enemy territory? Beyond support naturally, though they had also just undertaken a mission without any initial support already.

Though he was about to say something mentally to himself; but decided against it, he had after all said it in the previous mission and look what happened there.

He had other things to consider; such as looking for his siblings, but alas he knew that was not possible right now anyway. Takeyu knew his oath to the SAoY meant he'd have to put family matters aside for the good of the Empire, even if it meant a few extra weeks, or months, until he could potentially request assistance.

Besides, as he thought about it, this would give him a lot of time to drudge up evidence and research into the matter, more time provided so he could present a better report.

Though he was tempted to speak up; Takeyu remained silent for now, chosing instead to listen to the Taisa's responses to the questions she now had.
