Did she just brush me off like I wasn't even there!! Alastair thought to himself. He could only picture that due to his armor she was maybe too scared to take him more serious. He also had an XO to impress so he was not going to let this stop him from making progress.

Doing exactly what any man would do in this type of situation would do went behind a pillar just out of view of everyone. "I got this team, we shall make contact." A grin crossed his face as that word had more than one meaning and he liked where this was going.

A moment later a 6'3“ tall and 200lbs man with his blue eyes and white to black fade hair stepped out from behind the pillar. Standing in all his glory was the big man himself. He was completely naked from head to toe. "Hello my friends, I am Belmont, Alastair Belmont at your service. Mind sharing what this place is?" Even if this was only fake he hoped it would still be effective.

Ragnar gave a wink and a nod, “Race ya to the bay?” Before he took off; making sure to sling a spare medkit over his shoulder and rushing to the power armor bay. Opening his comm to the captain, he prepared to make his first official request of the chain of command.

“Medic Halfdan to command, requesting science equipment be dropped on the planet and to initiate quarantine protocols for all away team members until we know what killed the crew. Advising crew maintains environmental seals until given a clean bill by medical staff.” He asked as officially as he could. He was worried about stepping on the other medics toes but it was surprising that neither had made the call yet. “Requesting access to a flamethrower as well; primitive but effective solution to microbial contagions.” He added while hustling down the halls.

“You sure we have to mention the thingy to the captain?” He shouted over his shoulder assuming boss was keeping up.

Odo listened to all the chatter back and forth. He nodded to the chief as she gave him orders. "Acknowledged."

He turned his diagnostic tool on the primary generator, plugging it into the diagnostic port, and running through multiple settings, to see if he got any sort of response, without much hope.

He remembered they were waiting on some portable generators. He keyed his comms. "Kaiyo Actual, Odo-hei. Is there a updated ETA on the portable generators by any chance?" He hoped that he sounded like he was asking for a information update. He didnt want to sound impatient.

Gravity looked into Hoshi's eyes and saw her captain grimace. That in turn made Gravity confused. Did the azure woman do something wrong? Was there a zit or something on her face?! God, she hoped not! She exfoliated like a motherfucker to keep her skin pristine and flawless!

With a shrug, Gravity continued following her orders and continued flying the ship in a random holding pattern between the derelict ship and the planet. Back... and forth... back... and forth... Like a great dragon keeping watch over its treasure.

Klaus processed Oaklen's answer to his question. He shouldn't be surprised. Oaklen had only served six years and this was a very unusual situation, so it seemed foolish to think there would be a guideline for mysteriously abandoned ships.

Seeing his compatriot moving upwards, the soldier quickly followed. As they reached the wardroom entrance, he followed Oaklen's command to take position. Oaklen opened the door and went inside and Klaus followed.

It was... empty. The same as all the others. But one of the escape pods was gone?

"Maybe some of the crew escaped" wondered Klaus, grimacing as the words left his mouth. "Well, not much of the crew, if only one escape pod was used."

"Well we have the bridge personnel accounted for, and out of a crew of 14. Once that armory is unlocked, we can sweep there. Maybe if were lucky, there will be someone inside, and not froze-.....they'd probably be dead then given how long this ship has been missing." He sighed. "Every turn and no answers. Any idea how many one of these pods fit?", Mark chatted with him, half speculating, half shooting the breeze as they waited for re-tasking from actual.

"Wilco." Mikael said in reply to Kamikaze, bowing a bit with his head. A partially comical sight from an outside viewer considering the armor was not really that flexible.

Mikael started to prep his mind for the briefing as he awaited. Despite being trained for these kinds of things and being an artificial organism for years, he still found briefings done mentally a tad disturbing. Something to do with being born a natural perhaps. None of the SAoY doctors care, so he just deals with it.

"5, I think. Or in case of an emergency 7." Klaus answered, remembering the escape pods specs from his training.

"Do you think the rest of the crew took the escape pod to the planet?" Klaus asked Oaklen. It made sense. It would explain the lack of crewmen, on this ship. Hope filled Klaus's heart. Survivors were a not so distant hope now, with this information.

Elenor couldn't help her eye twitching in anger at the sight of her superior officer doing what he was doing. But she was still picking up his armor on the tac-net, and when she flicked her vision to IR, it showed the places that a Mindy typically vented heat, despite it not matching where he 'visibly' was. So there was that. "Sir, Permission to sweep the rest of the building while you attempt to open dialogue with the locals?" She asked over the team radio, opting to remain an apparently voiceless suit of armor standing nearby. She wasn't just gonna stand here and wait on Alastair to succeed or fail. So she was going to make sure the rest of the building was as safe as this room seemed to be.

"We'll need one here on the ship, one with the ground team, and one floater. I'll remain on the ship to direct what we are doing here. Even an old scoutship might be useful in the war. Scan everyone for the demylynization and for the bacteria we seem to be detecting. They might be the disease vector. I'm sufficiently wary right now to issue a medical alert to everyone to keep sealed up until we've figured everything out. I get the feeling the building on the surface may not be a coincidence." Sacre said to Saya and the other medical team members.

"Give me a moment, I need to get a status update," Sacre said to Kamikaze.

Then she broadcast a wide transmission to everyone on the Akagi. "Ok, everyone left here on the Akagi, sound off and give me a report. What is preventing us from this ship being in operating shape? Identify any areas on the ship that haven't been swept yet. We haven't found the whole crew yet, and I'd like a full set. Preferably with some of them breathing." Sacre instructed them.

If only Elenor could see the grin Alastair had on his face. Being in such a good mood he seen no harm in having her take a look around. "Please, I got this covered. Take a look around and ensure this place is what it seems. I feel something is amiss about this place." He said to Elenor over comms.

He walked over to the girl who shunned him just moments ago. "Hello, let us try this again. I am Alastair, who might you be?" He asked in a friendly voice. While his voice was friendly he had little trust for her or any of the people in this place. This seemed far too good for it to be anything innocent.

Kikios performed another life form scan on the dust in the generator, only now she was performing it at the time as Odo was running the diagnostic tool on it. "Thank you, Odo-hei," Kiki said to the other engineer. The cockatoo responded to Sacre's transmission, explaining "We're still working on the generators, an unknown issue is preventing them from operating." She continued "Chusa Hoshi is sending Science and Medical personell to investigate this strange 'living dust', which could be related to what's causing the generators to remain non-functional."

Saya nodded as she checked over her gear quickly, making sure she had everything she needed before she looked to Sacre.

"I'll head down to the surface with them then, keep an eye and see if I can't find the vector for the disease. I'll get readings on their medical systems in their suits also."

Saya snapped a crisp salute before she made her way out of the ship and headed down toward the planet as she followed the directions from her Mindy's onboard computer.

BATH HOUSE ENTRANCE

Saya touched down on the surface of the planet just outside of the bathhouse, helmet still on and her science scanner at full power as she tried to find whatever information she could about the surrounding air quality. As she landed, her rifle went to her hardpoints as her medical scanner came out to try and find any odd pathogens in the air. She quickly sent a message to those within the bathhouse.

Attention Planet Side Crew,
Itto Hei Fujiwara Saya Reporting as on-site medic.
Please sound off your locations for a quick medical examination.
Your quick response is appreciated and needed.

The Chusa spoke, "Oaklen-hei, sweep more of the ship. Not yet, Odo-hei, standby." Her dark blue eyes thinned as she listened to Ragnar's request, then widened as she spoke sharply. "Halfdan-hei, if someone on the ground or on that ship thought we should go through those protocols, they would have said so. If you still think that way after you lay eyes on the situation, I'd like to know. No the flamethrower, for now. Kaiyō Actual out."

Power Armor Bay

As Boss ran next to Ragnar and listened to Hoshi speak to him, she side-eyed him with her glittering orange eyes. Her lips stayed sealed as she made room for him to pass into the power armor bay's nearest doorway by slowing and running behind him by a few paces.

Rei nodded to the Nepleslian man in his armor and strode to a Mindy 4 in a far-flung corner and suited up.

Boss began working on moving objects and taking panels off of a wall in the bay.

Kamikaze looked to Ragnar, then to the others around her. "Soldiers, it is time for you to go down to the building and report in to Belmont-chui. Your teleportation units should take you to the outside of the building. The Second Officer will be waiting for you inside." She looked around and added, "I'll watch you depart the YSS Kaiyō and will then be going to assist our crew on the YSS Akagi. From here on until you contact the Chui, Harris-heisho will be your unit commander." With an air of finality Kamikaze nodded to those around her in the Fuji-class' power armor bay.

When Kiki did the scans, they showed the same things as before.

The flirty-eyed woman to whom Alastair was speaking had pressed her hand against the door at the end of the mural, but had paused in front of the door while considering Alastair's body proportions momentarily. Her eye's appraisal of him gave pause when her teeth shone bright before her eyes turned to crescents. A man was behind the Chui regarding his behind with a subtle intensity. When his gaze was witnessed by the woman at the door, he gave a short cough and spoke while redirecting his path away from the white and black haired man and the woman.

"Mihī placet clunis," he said to her, then looked to Alastair and winked as he walked away. Alastair's AiES would then begin to translate the Old Seraphim for Alastair.

She sighed with a happy type of exasperation as her eyes rolled before she looked to Alastair while she spoke. "What is this? Don't worry, it is a thermae." she said with a reassuring nod and began pressing open the door and looked from him to the pillow of steam presenting itself from inside the room while she went on, "What is your name? My name is Sophia." Bundles of steam were now being released from the open door. The hot white mist soon enveloped her silhouette and she was soon out of visual sight.

With her cessation of speech, the sounds of steam sizzling as it was splashed on hot black rocks and the warm wood nearby surfaced. Layered above the audible evaporating water were multiple conversations that carried happy cadences and jovial laughs amid their stratums of discourse. Alastair would be able to see on some scans that this room was even larger than the room he had last been within but had a lower ceiling and was a much higher temperature due to heat radiating out of the walls and from the floor. Walls partitioned the room into smaller sections according to warmth. Many signatures were being picked up lounging on rows of benches built into the walls of each section or walking from one area to another lackadaisically. The Chui still had a read on the woman.

Alastair could not help but smile as he was hoping someone would notice his very nice bod. Granted it was all fake but none the less this pleased him. The translation came through and his smile grew three sizes bigger. He too could relate to this mans type of thinking. Then it hit him like a ton of bricks. Oh how foolish was he to believe they spoke Yamatai. Least that would explain the reason she kind of ignored him. While his thinking he needed to be naked was incorrect, it did get the result he needed since the guy checking him out gave the translation sample.

Sophia, what a beautiful name she has. He thought to himself. Speaking in Old Seraphim using the AIES' translator, "You can call me Alastair." He said as he followed behind her. As he walked into the room he reached into the utility slot on the Mindy and pulled out a block. He broke it in half, inserted a small probe into one half then stuck it arms length on the wall beside the door. The fog in the room did a great job hiding the new addition. While the room was filled with a fog, the sensors of the Mindy could still track her as she slipped out of his view. He would from time to time look around the room. This place was amazing and seemed like a slice of paradise. This caused him to have a flashback to the last time he was in paradise. He hoped this was exactly as it should be and not naked people stuck in a trap or worse that its all fake and nothing but a trap.

As he caught up to her his scanners were going full power. He wanted to make double sure if something was amiss he would find it. He did have a young Elenor to look after. "So what is this place?" He asked in a low voice to limit how many others would hear them talk.

Ragnar was visibly annoyed before sealing himself in the Mindy. “Riiight just the medic saying medic things...” he muttered as the seals tightened. The process was beginning to feel smoother for him compared to the last mission he was on and he was frustrated enough to ignore the gnawing astrophobia. “Understood on the flamethrower, but there are few more efficient in field methods for scrubbing armor. How about the extra analysis equipment? Also insisting all crew members already in the field do a double check for any seal breaches in their gear and anyone without a clean seal be prevented from returning shipboard at this time. Whatever infection we’re dealing with ignored the other ships environmental scrubbers entirely. Captain.”

Yep, no way that bit of irritation would go unnoticed. After his suit was sealed, his buttpack properly loaded with medical supplies, and the dawning awareness of the pitch black void outside back in the forefront of his mind Ragnar caught the tail end of what Kamikaze had said. “I’m a medic, not a soldier.” He mutter, momentarily curious as to what the orange eyes jump scare was doing to the wall before departing.

Ragnar shuddered a little in his suit, “Does anyone else notice a weird tingling with the ‘port?” He asked the other medics on a comm channel.

"While we each have our own special piece of the puzzle that is the SAoY, you are still a soldier at the end of the day. It would be best that you never forget that Halfdan-hei." Mikael would say in response from his suit. After taking a headcount of those temporarily under his command, Mikael would close his eyes and initiate a countdown for all of them to initialize their teleportation units at the same time. He did hate teleporting, always felt odd.

William nodded as Rei moved and his massive frame turned to see the other members of the Kaiyo's crew stride in. He had seen them on the ship, but never actually spoke to them. Then he watched as the new XO walked in and began giving out orders.

He turned as the others recieved their orders and walked towards his Sensei as she donned the suit. His Air 2 towered over the much smaller mindy. "Well then... I can't teleport. Can we race to the surface? I want to take the air 2 through re entry!" William asked on a private connection with the samurai. The picture of him in her mind's eye smiled big. "Please mama? Pleeeeeease?" He asked teasingly. Though he was very much serious about wanting to dive through the atmosphere.

All the pain he had felt earlier seemed to vanish when he was around Rei. His mother was always able to calm his nerves and make the Nepleslian smile.

Giving a quick nod, Elenor began to walk around, looking for any doors beyond the ones they'd already passed through, setting AR markers that would be visible only to the Mindy's for which doors had been checked. Better than using a physical object or chalk on the wall. Either of which could have caused the locals to freak out or become hostile. And while Alastair was busy talking with them, Elenor had no intention of messing up potential talks.

Her goal was, after all, make sure that they weren't about to be jumped by who knew how many hostiles hidden away in the building, or get hit with some kind of gas or other trap. Paranoid? Maybe a bit, but it was better to be safe than sorry in this situation, by a long shoot. So, approaching the first door she could find, she attempted to open it and begin her sweep.

"It's possible, and not to sound pessimistic, but we aren't sure there was a full load. It could have been one person, or the full seven. So until we can ascertain the facts, let's not jump ahead of ourselves just yet. Hope for the best, expect the worse right?", Mark replied in a sympathetic voice. He didn't want to be the killjoy, but his years of service had made him a realist when in the field, and a optimist when not. It was a double sided way of thinking, but he knew there was a time and place for such things.

When the captain's orders came in, he nodded to Klaus, "Hai, redirecting back to deck 2, which hasn't been swept yet. Will keep you apprised actual."

"We should search the showers, then cargo, and off to the vehicle bay. Those are the most likely places to have supplies available foremost, therefore where any survivors might have hold up. If they managed to stay unfrozen that is. Hopefully by then, power will be back and we can open the armory. If not, we'll decided when we cross that bridge.", He said pulling up the map overlay for this class of ship, thinking out possible scenarios in which isolated crew members could survive......his results were few to say the least. Waving for Klaus to follow, he began to head back into the corridor.
