"I dunno I think if we hit them hard enough and fast enough it won't matter." Yoshida replied. She also thought th eL'kor just wouldn't stop firing after seeing one of their companions was used as a bullet magnet with grafiti all over it, which certainly wouldn't make things any easier on them. "Besides isn't this what the nodal bits are for?" She didn't move a muscle though, she only stared at the door. She could have been mistaken for a statue.

Mat, in the midst of the chaos caused by his compatriots, just followed behind, not seeing much else to do with himself since everyone else seemed to have things handled.

"Well, they know where we are: at this door. When we blast in, they could be anywhere in the room."

Meissa made the final touches to her friend covered in obscene statements and hoisted it up. "They could be to the left, to the right, straight on, heck, they might all be piled up next to the door. We wouldn't know where to shoot and filling the room with bullets, which sounds hilariously fun, would just give them more time to shoot us back. Explosion, clear."

She held up the detonator.

Misaki seemed tense as this drew out. She spoke to the starship operator in a somewhat authorative tone as she put her hand to her chin, running her index finger across her lips. She wanted to make sure there was a major show of force here, and that their task group had the upper hand in weaponry.

"Once you get that carrier down, begin pulling surgical strikes against the battleships and other ships that believe themselves to be winning. Take their guns and all they can do is surrender or die, then take their engines so they cannot run so they feel the weight of their actions, then finally we take them."

The timid XO was showing her hidden colors.

Everyone shuffled to form up away from the door, which was set to explode on Meissa's mark.

"Well, the Taii seems to have some level of belief in you. What would you do if given weaponry, Neko?" Rei said, notably leaving out the acronym NMX beforehand, hoping this would foster a level of camaraderie between Amanozako and herself.

"What are you doing standing around?" Eden asked of the away team. "Blow it up and get into that room! We don't know what it is or who's behind it, but they're getting what's coming to them— and fast!"

"Status report!" Catherine Ross asked as she filled the volumetric display with her face.

"We're breeching an unknown room and then moving into engineering after that, Taisa!"

"I want your away team in engineering already!"

Eden replied quickly and succinctly, "Understood!"

"Fast!" Eden said into the away team's comms after Catherine Ross was no longer on the screen. "Fast is the way we'll take them out! Do it already!"

Yoshida was almost distracted by the fantasy of what the after party of this would look like as Meissa and the Taii were speaking, humming to herself for a moment- then the explosives when off and she jolted, slightly startled. At least she reflexively squeezed on the trigger, a slight whiirr being the only warning before a hail of aether bolts flew the all too short a distance between the neko, through the suddenly, very roughly knocked door, and into the room beyond.

What ensued could be at best called random spraying, though with that sheer volume of fire and moving it back and forth, up and down, there wasn't much in her availible cone of fire she wasn't going to be hitting! "Ohhh kaayy we're doing this let's tear them down!" She yelled out as the hallway was light up with her cannon like a strobe light, the soft pink circle of the ends of the barrels likely signalling her out as a target even through any amount of smoke that resulted from the breach.

Hallway/ Door

For a fraction of a second and a wonderful moment, there was a fiery explosion as the plastic explosive was detonated and the plume of flame erupted, then condensed just as quickly. The door blasted open the way that was away from the team of Neko, Elysians, and Carter.

Meissa could be credited with giving the first round of damage to the power armored L'Kor closest to the door. They were laid down and propped themselves back up to begin firing on the away team.

Yoshida held the prize for taking down the next two. They were not down for the count, though, as one of them stumbled back up from the ground where they had been strewn and the other tried to get propped back up. The one of them that had been faster to get up jumped out of the vision of the away team as the other was hit by the unavoidable aether fire strobe while on their knees. Their arms flailed out to the sides as the chest of their power armor took hit after hit. They seemed to be crucified in place by the succession of hits before finally falling backwards to the ground behind them.

The others in the room were not to be deterred by their two fallen comrades as they ducked in and out of the view of the away team, shooting and sometimes making contact with their own SMG's and aether fire.

Mat waited until there was a pause in fire before sending in a swarm of NSBs to attack the enemy, and then advanced into the room under the covering fire of his teammates. He took potshots at any enemy he caught sight of.

Meissa decided to push her payload to the side. No point in using it today.
She instead decided to hover upside-down, holding an odd vantage point above the door, blasting away at the enemy. She didn't care about aiming for heads. If objects were in the way she just shot them, so long as they were not glowing, probably explosive, or both.

Outside the Bridge

"That would depend on what is going on?" Amanozako replied. She had absolutely zero information on what was happening other than there was a battle on. That was it. No windows, no access to sensors, no communication from anyone about the current situation meant for zero knowledge of the goings on outside for her.

L'kor Albatross Hallway

Anastasia pulled to the side of the hallway as enemy fire erupted through the breached doorway. Being one of the taller in the group, Anastasia took aim and fired her SMG at the assailants, being careful not to expose herself too much in the heat of bottleneck.

Whilst Meissa was planting the breaching charges, Carter began charging a teleport on the off chance that he would need one to aid in the breach. He then turned his attention backwards, watching the squad's vulnerable flank from his position at the rear of the formation. There were a few wasted moments of debate on when or how to breach before Eden's order came through. He whirled around, preparing to funnel in once Meissa hit the trigger and chaos erupted.

As soon as the door was propelled away from its frame, Carter's NSB's filtered in from the top of the doorframe, picking out the few surviving targets. He marked their positions, and, taking the few seconds before he could get a sight line on them as the squad moved into the breach, quickly set up a mental priority list of targets. He had a hunch that they may be able to take a prisoner in the next few moments...

Yoshida grinned and let out a laugh, loud and clear as the L'kor ran for cover. Rather than advance like the others, she continued to fire, making sure to supress the enemy with the sheer volume of aether blasts, while eroding away at their cover whenever none of them were shooting. Or of course, trying to disarm them by melting their weapons whenever they showed them off around the corner for breif moments to pump sound rounds in the away team's direction.

Saki pointed at the readouts on the console, in particularly, the aft section of the battleships, "There, hit that section with the Aether Array. We will take her engines off and then shift to the center of mass. Use the other guns to start picking off turrets." She looked at the readouts carefully as she observed the other ships in the L'Kor fleet and looked with calm thought and analytical eyes,

"Once the Away Team get's this one down, we move on to the next. Engines, Weapons, Kill."

"Hai!" The weaponry, temporarily cooling down after the remaining carriers were neutralized, roared to life once more, as the operator took careful aim-damaging the engines was necessary, but accidentally killing the entire away team would be... less than ideal. So a slower overall rate of fire at the gain of precision attacks against the single battleship's mobility, with the occasional spare blast towards any detectable weapons within the arcs of the Kaiyo. With the carriers cleaned up and only a few-if any-remaining bombers, the battlefield seemed to be shifting once again in Yanmatai's favor.

The enemy took hits from the away team, but were capable and at the ready, as well. They fired off rounds and hit the away team members that had propelled forward, nicking their armor or causing them to flinch and recoil. The first enemy to be felled was still down and another body piled onto it while yet another was forced to their knees and had to regain their balance by putting a hand to the ground ad happened to instead touch the Kaiyo's most recent victim's body, instead. The L'Kor recoiled when he realized he was pushing off of the dead and stumbled backwards, falling on his back. At this rate, the away team would have difficulty stepping over the bodies between them and the hallway to engineering.

Despite that, they were still up against five power armored L'Kor in this room, alone. They needed a strategy, a complete plan of attack. One that would give them leverage over the enemy and one that would make it so that they could get past this room of about eight more power armored L'Kor. They had valuable time that they shouldn't lay to waste any longer.

"Arblitrated Shan! You're doing excellently!" Eden said, peering over the sensors operator Deio Asuka's shoulder, seeing Shan's handiwork on the volumetric display. "Keep hitting them where it hurts!" The battleship's engines were failing, but most of its weapons were still active. It shot out through its dual plasma arrays and the Kaiyo's pilot Ito Arnjborg had to move the Plumeria quickly out of the way, changing the direction with which Arbitrated Shan should continue to shoot.

Outside of the Bridge

"We are engaging an enemy fleet," Rei said simply. "The away team is aboard a battleship working to disable it while the bridge crew is working on disabling carriers and fighters."

She stood with her legs spread apart and hands in front of her, one cupping the other. Her senses were on high alert—this was a threatening NMX Neko, after all. But there was something about Amanozako that told her she needed to worry less about being attacked and worry more about helping the Neko as if she was like herself, save for some of the nationalism and allegiance to the Empire. Since the captain had trusted her enough to et her on board, Rei knew to trust her enough to know the situation the 6th squadron was facing.

Outside of the Bridge

William seemed tense around Amanozako. He could see the desire to kill him in her eyes, and saw her fists shaking with rage. He stood his ground, but he was scared. What was a boy to do... As she began to walk away he softly let out a breath he didn't know he was holding.

It got him thinking... How could he help protect Aiko, if a single Neko like Amanozako could kill him without a second's thought?

After this battle is over... he was going to train and train and train some more, if he survived that long. He moved and filled the void Rei left as she moved to follow Amanozako, and stood in the middle of the doorway, watching the two tensely.

Outside the Bridge

"I would get my power armor and go fight the enemy" Amanozako replied, simply, her blood red eyes fixed on the Yamataian guard standing before her. Amanozako was a solider, a fighter. Fighting was what she was created to do. Fighting was in her blood. She could feel the call of battle in her bones as she waited to see what this guard said next, her every muscle tensing.

Misaki nodded slowly as she read how the battleship was beginning to slow. She went to speak but was quiet while analyzing where the arrays were as they dodged. She ran a hand through her hair as she pointed with the other to a point on the L'Kor battleship, the arrays.

"Now that they are having engine trouble, hit those arrays. We need to take away their teeth!"
