"Ummm," Sakura started as she looked at the other crew and then back at Sune. "Would you be ok with us singing?" she asked and looked at Layven. "We know a few songs, and have an instrument that we brought with us, but we weren't sure whether you had entertainment already or not...."

Table

An endearingly amused expression crossed Sienna's face at the little girl's question, her eyebrows raising as she looked down the table expectantly at Sune. She had to wonder what the retiring officer was thinking of the way his farewell soiree seemed to be going awry, or if he'd be grateful for the innocent-looking child's attempt to ligthen the mood. She carved off another smallish bite of her steak, taking another drink of her margarita before popping it into her mouth.

Sune had not been expecting the request that had been made, but given how Hanako's abrupt departure had affected the mood. Perhaps indulging the girls would help bring a more festive mood. "Well, there is an Anaba Super Karaoke Machine over on the table there. If the two of you wish to entertain us. By all means go ahead. "

Mitsuko looked up, fork in her mouth, as the captain rushed out. She just blinked, frozen for a few moments, before remembering to swallow her food as conversations restarted around her. She hadn't expected such a scene. Then again, she never understood most of Hanako's actions.

Her plate was slowly being cleared off, as the Neko actually considered going back for more. She didn't want to stuff herself in front of everyone, though. Especially if the rest of them were already finished eating, and ready to move on to after-dinner entertainment.

Takeyu nodded. "I see, in that case, feel free to crash on my floor," he winked at her and then smiled. "Besides, being away from your friend might be good for you both, to help simmer down any anger or frustrations.."

Back at the table, the sisters beamed at Sune's response. "Yay!" Sakura cheered and then looked at her sister. "I wonder which song we should sing..."

"Why not do the one we were taught in school?" suggested Layven as she folded her arms over her chest and stood there in thought.

"Mmmmm.... I wonder if the karaoke machine would have it..." Sakura glanced over at the machine and two walked over to check the list to see if the song they were looking for was there.

With a sigh Misato stood up straight and centered herself before walking in confidently. She needed to hide her self pity and depression just for a few hours. She wasn't going to let Sune down. Not after the few pep talks he had given her over the past while to keep her going. It was the least she could do to show him off.

She made a plate of food before heading over to the table, but was unsure where to sit. There were a few options, but none of them were quite a safe bet. A. the one next to Mitsuko, a veritable minefield there. B. a possible seat by Sienna. That one might be safe unless Sienna was holding a grudge. C. the opposite head of the table from Sune. No way she would assume that position.

Gritting her teeth and keeping a fake smile on her face Misato Suzume took the seat next to Mitsuko. 'If I can do this here and now, then maybe I can fake it back aboard the ship and not have to rock any boats to get a cabin transfer.'

Once seated she started working on the seafood salad and rice she had scooped on to her plate. Careful to keep looking straight ahead... Coincidently right at Sienna.

If anyone had been looking at her in that instant, the look on Sienna's face would have probably surprised them. She couldn't help the tiny but warm smile on her lips as she watched the young girls excitedly bounce over to the karaoke machine. She wondered if they knew how good they had it, to live such a carefree existence, unburdened by worry or doubt.

The smile vanished as if someone had turned off a light switch when her eyes drifted across the table to Misato, who was staring intently at her. She had heard and seen her sit down in her peripheral vision, but had not paid her much mind other than noticing her change of clothes. The tiny hairs on the back of her neck stood up as she stopped chewing and stared back in quiet challenge, but Misato's eyes were distant and blank, like they were looking through her. The defiant look on her face changed to one of wary puzzlement as she sat there frozen for a second, then tilted her head and raised her palm between their locked eyes, slowly raising and lowering it, trying to either break the grey-skinned Neko's gaze on her or flag her out of whatever cloud her head was in.

Natsumi looked up from her own meal, which she had been paying all too much attention to the last few minutes to see Misato sit across from Sienna. The almost void look to the infantry neko's eyes was strange.

She glanced to see how Sienna was reacting to how Misato was looking right at her. The look of puzzlement and raised waving hand told herthat her friend was just as confused.

"Is everything alright, Misato-san?" Natsumi asked.

The movements and Natsumi's voice snapped Suzume out of her emptied state. She quickly looked down at the table before looking back at Sienna then over at Natasumi. "Nothing is wrong. Everything is grand." She smiled fakly before looking over at the two young girls playing with the music equipment. "Uhh.. who are they? Do they belong here?" Misato was pretty confused.

Sune continued to watch the interaction of his former crew mates. There was some obvious tension between some of them. When Suzume made her inquiry about the girls, he turned to her and replied. "Those are Layven and Sakura; they are Nayacesen -Taii's sisters. They arrived on a ship I own to spend the holidays with their older brother. So yes, they belong here. If nothing else they will help lighten the mood and keep from from getting serious."

"Oh! My apologies Sir. I didn't know... I..." She looked around trying to grasp as something that might rescue her from this. "I forgot, he was just telling me that they were here. Must have bumped my head there when I fell." She chuckled a little hoping to get the attention off of her.

Table

Mitsuko noticed someone sitting next to her, in the seat she'd unconsciously made sure was left empty, looking up from her plate to see who had taken it. She was surprised to see her roommate settling right into the spot she'd saved for her. Murakami felt a sudden burst of happiness. This felt right. She smiled at the other Neko, before she realized Misato was staring off into space. She frowned just a bit. "...are you sure you're okay, Suzume-chan?" She didn't like the thought of her being injured, although she knew that altercation had been nothing compared to what had happened to Misato before.

Sitting so close, combined with her concern, Mitsuko had almost completely forgotten about her earlier problems. She cautiously tried to rest her near hand on Misato's shoulder, looking her over to see if she was truly fine, ignoring the rest of the party for the moment.

Deziarra found an empty place at the table. Then she went over to the food grabbing a small amount of everything. She finished the food fairly quickly and went back for more. This time she knew what she wanted to get. She was a worried that she might be eating too much but she reminded herself that this was a specially occasion. As long as she was not this greedy about food all the time, it should be fine.

Bors watched with awe as his brave noble leader stormed out of of the dining room "Well you don't see that everyday," He said to noone in particular, "I think I see why they keep her on a ship." Shaking his head he wiped the corner of his mouth with his napkin before depositing it on his now empty plate that had once contained a tasty meal. "Well I guess I'll go hunt down the princess, could use some fresh air anyway, Thank you again for the spread Sune live long and prosper and all that jazz."

Excusing himself he downed the rest of his drink before leaving though the large double doors at the end of the room. Loosening his tie as he left he checked his communicator, plenty of time to get where he needed to be. He had no intentions of going after the ShoSho, whatever she was up to was her own deal, Bors had bigger fish to fry and settle some old business. Stepping outside into the crisp night air he noticed some storm clouds coming in from the east, "Looks like a bit of rain, hope that doesn't ruin the party." He said to himself as he popped in his E-cig and hailed a cab, ready to speed off on his personal adventure.

When the hand touched her shoulder Misato's arm reflexed from the shock of it. Dropping her fork, it fell to her plate with a rattle. "I am fine." Her voice was cold but calm.

"Did the two of you get your Margaritas." She forced a smile she had once seen on the officers, when they were trying not to start screaming, "I'm sure a drink amongst friends can sooth bitterness." Her gaze passed from to Sienna to Mitsuko, hopefully getting the point across to the mousy neko next to her. Seeing her roommate right there caused a lump to form in her chest.

Misato's hand reached for a drink that wasn't there. So instead she picked her fork back up and started to work on the seafood salad. It was amazing her body was going to let her eat at all. Suzume's left hand dropped down to her lap with a spare fork slowly driving it in to her leg. If anything Misato was focused.

Turning to see Bors leave the restaurant, saying something about hunting down the princess, made her feel a bit jealous. 'Always calling me a princess, but now I need rescuing and he rushes off out the door. Seesh what a jerk.' her thoughts put a real smile on her face for a moment as she scooped a bit more salad up. If Sienna was worried about looking like a fool here, Misato was certainly giving her a run for her money.

With a sigh she took a sip of water, "I think the three of you, should bar hop along the beach tomorrow." She smiled trying to help Natsumi and Sienna, befriend Mitsuko. Just because she couldn't date, her didn't mean she couldn't see her as a friend. "It was what we did last time... I miss Kleine, she was nice to us."

"That was fun last time" Natsumi replied and smiled at Misato. She remembered the time they had all spent getting drinks, then playing in the warm tropical water at the beach after. It was a good memory.

"You should join us too, Misato-san" she stated. "You were there last time, should be there again this time" she smiled.

Table

Sienna's brow wrinkled as her eyebrows shot up at Misato's suggestion, and she looked slightly down her nose at Mitsuko. She wasn't petty enough to intentionally try to provoke the logistics officer, nor did she see a reason not to be civil in public. But entertaining the idea that the two of them could be buddies was laughable to her. Mitsuko had done nothing but make it clear that she didn't care for her at all, and Sienna didn't harbor any desires to bridge the divide. She had no use for Mitsuko.

At least some good was coming from Misato's blathering. The soldier's neurotic behavior was certainly making Sienna look that much more in her element by comparison. She thumped her margarita with a flick of her index finger and nodded in response. "Yeah, we got 'em," she replied simply. "Good choice."

Bors's egress made her turn her head as well, wondering why he was so eager to leave too. Even at a dinner party it seemed to her like everyone's feelings were so easily hurt.

Restruant

Layven browsed through the selection of songs, it had taken a bit of time before they landed upon a song that they knew and could very well sing without problems. "To bad, I just remember this song requires a specific instrument," Layven said with a distressed sigh, but that sigh quickly vanished when she looked over at Sakura who nodded her head. The song was an old one, known as Scarborough Fair.

Near the table Takeyu watched his sisters, his arms folded while he stood a few feet away from Misato. He smiled, enjoying the fact that his sisters were here and looked to already be having fun.

Table

When the two young girls asked about singing, Chieko nearly asked about joining in; but with food before her, and a rumbly in her tumbly, she figured she ought to let them have their fun first. The Nito Hei, began working on her salad as she heard Sune give permission, prompting a wicked smirk between shovels. She knew she wouldn't get full on the green stuff, however after a few minutes she did notice that it was filling a need.

As the academic continued eating, she caught the sounds of their newly minted NCO across the table and looked up to see Suzume still a little uncomfortable with things. The thought of Phasic Rippers briefly crossed Chieko's mind as she watched the initial interactions - the idea fading in and out. Thankfully the cycle was broken by Riko's interruption, allowing her to shake her head and get back to enjoying the evening.

The scientist began eating again when she suddenly though she heard the phrase 'bar hopping'.

"Who's going bar hopping?" Chieko asked a little too loudly, her eyes wide with excitement.

Table

Mitsuko lifted her hand away quickly, as Misato jerked like that. She slowly turned away, after the strange look the other Neko gave her. "...yes ma'am." She quietly nodded, returning to her plate as well. There were only a few scraps left, and she suddenly didn't feel like seconds. "We're missing lots of people from last time. Konoka, Tomomi, Akemi." She sighed, pushing her plate away. Murakami decided to finish the last sips of her drink as she recalled her earliest months with the Eucharis, barely noticing the music beginning to play in the background.
