Konoka was walking along when she noticed someone who might be a technician and two unfamiliar faces.

Unfamiliar?? Then they might be new friends! Suddenly very happy, Konoka rushed towards them, tripping, sliding, and falling flat on her face.

"Heh....I'm OK." she said, slowly rising to her feet.

"Hi! I'm Konoka Miyazawa. Can I help you in any way?"

Imakiri walked down the plastic corridor almost absent-mindedly. He had only been on the station for little more than a day, and aside from sleeping and checking the details of the YSS Eucharis, he had had little time to himself, something he would have liked to have had more of, particularly as he had never ventured so far from Yamatai; to be off-world on a facility as large as Gemini Star Fortress was a simply staggering thought he knew he would have to get used to. After all, where would this ship be taking him? Having been walking for nearly an hour now, asking sprites, technicians, security patrols and pretty much anyone he found with a badge of the First Expeditionary Fleet, Imakiri had finally found out where Taisa Ketsurui Hanako was conducting the interviews.

A little worried that none of those he had asked were aware that a new Science specialist was to be interviewed, Imakiri headed towards the connecting walkway that linked the Eucharis with the Fortress, the ship was clearly being repaired from what appeared to be quite severe damage. The entrance of the walkway was guarded by two of the security personnel of the station, blocking access to the ship and demanding identification. Duffle Bag in one hand, Imakiri swallowed as he bowed.
"Santô Hei Itakori Imakiri, reporting for an interview with Taisa Ketsurui Hanako." he said quickly, straightening up. The guards looked at each other before one turned, obviously checking if Imakiri was indeed expected on the ship. Imakiri simply stood there, waiting to see if he would be welcomed aboard or turned away.

"Uwaahh~" The neko commented out in awe as she stepped out of the shuttle that brought her to the Zodiac-class Star Fortress, Gemini. She had never expect it to be huge compared to the reports and pictures provided by the media and libraries, "Its going to be tough finding the YSS Eucharis in here. However, that will not be impossible for me!" She declared rather loudly, getting stares from others around her, much to her embarassment.

Quickly moving along, her duffle bag in hand. Her eyes were wide opened, looking out for crew members of the ship she had been assigned to. Unfortunately, the station was rather pack filled with many others. She had assumed something must had happened, thus the need to have more manpower. Sure enough, the YSS Eucharis loomed in front of her; technicians and robots were all over the ship examining damages done during the previous sortie and making necessary repairs.

"Lets see..." Nika ran her information through her head, "YSS Eucharis is under the command of Taisa Ketsurui Hanako... I've never met Hanako-san before when I was in Ketsurui household..." She mumbled to herself, almost bumping into a mechanic.

Apologising profusely, she made her way towards the walkway where its guarded by the station's security force. There, she spotted a crew member, or rather, someone like her, who had to go through the captain's interview before being officially assigned.

"Am I late?" She asked Imakiri, "It seemed that everyone around here are too busy to get any attention..." She sighed, ears drooping down.

Ramiro immediately rushed to help the strange clumsy girl get back to her feet. "Are you okay?" After he made sure she was on her feet he quickly introduced himself...and Sune. "Hello, my name is Ramiro Valencia, and this is Sune Jalen. We are new recruits with the Eucharis. And no, we have already been helped by Kumiko, thank you for asking though." He continued to follow Kumiko, shaking his head as he walked. Strange girl, very strange girl.

Junko made her way through the Gemini Star Fortress and was now on the threshold of the docked Ikoi, wherein, she was assured by the computer, the Eucharis was waiting. She had had no sign of either of the two she had ran into in the transient crew quarters. Valencia had not returned before Jalen had set out, without a word to her. It did not upset her that he had taken off like that; rather, she was mildly amused at behavior that seemed entirely fitting with their universal status as artificial tools of war. That aside, she had had little patience to await Valencia’s return, or to await any person for that matter, and had simply set out shortly after Jalen.

Now she was walking in the Ikoi, however, and it appeared that she was nearing the Eucharis’s berth. She composed a quick message:

From: Santo Hei Takeda Junko
To: Taisa Hanako, CO 2nd Squadron

Ma’am,

I wish to report that I have arrived aboard the Gemini Star Fortress and have noted the arrival of the Eucharis. I will await nearby until such time as permission to come aboard is granted or directions for a differing location for the interview is sent to me.

Deepest Respect,
Takeda Junko

The message being fired off to the Ikoi’s computer, with routing instructions to the Eucharis, Junko began looking for that nearby location she had said she would remain at. A brief search and confirming query to the computer later, she found an observation booth overlooking the bay in which the Eucharis sat. Settling her duffel on the deck, Junko strode towards the window looking into the bay and peered closely at the Eucharis. She was simultaneously pleased and annoyed, pleased that she finally had an opportunity to view the warship she hoped to serve aboard and annoyed that she was not yet able to assist in repairing the ghastly damage visible across its hull. Movement catching her eye, she saw Jalen and Valencia heading aboard the ship in the company of a neko, bearing the same red panels Junko herself wore. Mildly pleased that she didn’t have to take part in whatever little social games they were playing down there, she returned her attention to the Eucharis.

Kumiko paused to make sure Konoka was alright, and, upon discovery that she was, and that Ramiro had already helped her back up, smiled slightly. " I don't think we've really met each other before now. I'm Kumiko Endoh. I joined up with the Eucharis shortly before that last mission. I hope you'll excuse us, but I'm supposed to be taking these two for interviews." She started to turn, then paused, noting other people she didn't recognize in the area. She looked back to Konoka. "If you're not occupied, you might look around and see if there is anyone else in need of some help. The Taisa is doing interviews, and I don't know how many people are coming."

Feeling 100% after the Eucharis's last mission, Hotaru was looking forward to a little R & R. Maybe some needed shopping, followed by sushi then a nice relaxing read before deciding what to for the evening. Sounds goooood, she thought to herself.

Thinking of seeing what Konoka was doing later made her think back to the checkup she received once they were out of the Viridian system. Giggling to herself she sent a message to Konoka:
TO: Miyazawa Konoka
FROM: Yamato Hotaru

Ohayo Ka-chan,

Free this evening? Wondering if you wanted to do something? Open to ideas. Maybe see what the new crew are like off duty?

Sayonara!

With her message sent Hotaru headed towards the airlock to leave the Eucharis intending to do a bit of retail therapy.

Sune watched Ramiro help the young Valkyrja, Konoka, he ran though a list of possible conditions that could account for such a lack of coordination. He ruled all of them out as she did not have any accompanying symptoms. Sune then recalled some of the younger members of the Bouken crew exhibited similar traits. If I did not know better, I would say that Konoka is an adolescent. Well obviously that is not possible physically. So she just must be young. Where is Takeda? I figured she would be here already.

Looking down at the Nekovalkyrja beside him, Imakiri watched her droop visibly; something he would have found the sight cute if he wasn't so nervous. Was she in the same predicament as him? Would they both be turned away for not getting there sooner?

"I was hoping that these two would be able to give me that answer." replied Imakiri, giving an odd little smile. "Unfortunately, it seems not even they are sure." A withering look from one of the guards caused Imakiri to slip into silence once more.

"Thank you, Valencia-Hei." said Konoka, rising. "Nice to meet all three of you. I'm sorry if I can not be of any assistance. Please do not hesitate to find me if you are ever in need of assistance, Sune-Hei, Valencia-Hei. By the way, I'm the medical specialist on the Eucharis, so if you are to be hurt in your time here, come find me!" She bowed and turned away saying, "Byyyyeee!! If you need help, just ask Konoka!"

She then skipped away.

Receiving a message from Hotaru, she replied:

To: Yamato Hotaru
From: Miyazawa Konoka

Ohayo, Hota-chan!

I actually don't have anything to do! If you want to do something, yay!! I'm all for it. I'm liking your idea, and I'm going to go look for more new people right now. Yay, more friends! Any activity you can plan has the potential to be wonderful, though! I look forward to seeing you!

Sayonara, and have a happy day!

Smiling brilliantly, she went off skipping, the thought of seeing a friend brightening her day already.

Where would people be? she thought.

This must be a test. What is it with all these people getting my name wrong. Surely the crew of the Eucharis must be pulling my leg as it were. Perhaps this is some sort of initiation. Sune thought as he followed Kumiko

Ramiro let out a chuckle as Konoka got Sune's name wrong. "Maybe its a sign, you should change you name and get you first and last names reversed, then you won't have to deal with this." He then watched Konoka skip away. I'm going to laugh if she trips again.

Her ears perked up slightly when he responded. She turned to look at the guards closely, making them tense up for abit.

"They are just doing their job in making sure non-personnal are kept away from the ship." The neko patted them on their stiff shoulders as she turned around to face the Yamataian, "We can probably sit around somewhere until any of the ship's crew member appears." Her eyes wandered around before looking at him smiling, "Himeya Irenika," She introduced herself, grabbing his hand and shaking it vigorously, "You can call me Irene or Nika if you find my name hard to pronounce."

Hanako, tracking her new recruits, tried to clear some confusion by patching into the station-wide intercom system. Throughout all halls of Gemini Star Fortress and the Ikoi, and throughout all compartments of the YSS Eucharis but the wardroom, the Taisa's soft voice was amplified and echoed: "Attention: New enlistees with orders for gunship NG-X1-408 Eucharis should report to the wardroom of that ship immediately."

Finishing up her drink, she took a brief moment to have her yacht crew depart for Pisces to pick up the items she'd recently ordered from the Public Communications Network.

With Kumiko's excellent assistance, Ramiro and Jalen made there way to the Eucharis Wardroom. Jalen deposited his duffle bag out of the way in the hall, checked his uniform and entered the wardroom. Sune bowed towards Hanako and then reported for his interview with the Taisa.

After finally reaching the wardroom Ramiro set his bags down next to Sune's and turned to Kumiko. "Thank you for your assistance, I had a wonderful time conversing with you." He started to head into the wardroom and then he remembered something. He quickly rummaged through his pockets, pulled out a small slip of paper and a pen and scribbled something down. Ramiro the crumpled the paper into a ball and tossed it to Kumiko as he hurried into the ward room. He looked behind himself as he started towards the room and said, "My comm number, in case you want to do something later, you know, get drinks or something." And with that he turned back around, entered the ward room and saluted. "Santo Hei Ramiro Trinidad Valencia reporting ma'am."

Kumiko nodded. She could have pulled that information on her own, but it was thoughtful of him. "We'll see. Good luck with your interviews, both of you."

Looking up as the announcement made its way across the station. Looking at Nika, Imakiri straightened up before walking up to the guards.
"Excuse me, but how long does it take to request clearance? I know you both have a job to do, but orders are orders and if you think you can leave us both waiting here for so long that... that we miss our interview then you'll have Taisa Hanako to answer to! How about that, hm?" declared Imakiri to the two, clearly uncomfortable taking on such an authorative position.
"...with all due respect, of course." he added quickly, bowing his head apologetically.

The two guards looked at each other, before the one on the left simply saying "We were about to clear you."

Blushing a deep crimson, Imakiri suddenly felt himself going rigid out of embarassment and terror.
"Oh."

Turning, one of the guards opened the door of the walkway to the ship. With one eye visibly twitching, Imakiri's awkward posture made him look like he was almost marching towards the ship, at least until he calmed down and finally took on his normal walk. Motioning for Nika to follow him, he made his way towards the ship's Wardroom.

Nika too had heard the announcement. Nodding while grinning at Imakiri, she followed suit, noting that others had also came aboard the ship, probably having the same interview with the captain.

Once they reached the entrance of the wardroom, the neko quickly placed down her duffle bag and adjusted her uniform, making sure its tidy. "Ok, here goes..." She muttered and entered the room.

"Ano... Himeya Irenika, Santo Hei, reporting for duty... Taisa!" She saluted along side the other two. Imakiri should be entering the room behind her soon...

Taisa Hanako was a short-statured, elf-like woman with unusual sky blue hair that had a purplish tint at the tips. Her big golden eyes looked over the new faces as they filled up seats on either side of the wardroom table. For a moment there was nearly silence as she paused to visually inspect their uniforms for wrinkles, leaving the recruits to notice the constant sounds and smells of activity coming from the nearby galley, where Lime, one of the ship's cooks, was frying chicken patties for the upcoming lunch's sandwiches.

"Since everyone is here at once, I would like to conduct as much of your interviews at the same time as possible," she began. "First, I would like to start with some basic questions."

A holographic list appeared over the table, words appearing as the captain began to ask her first questions:

1. Why did you join the Star Army?

2. Why did you choose the Eucharis?

3. What role do you see yourself best fitting on the ship?

4. Are you interested in becoming a leader?

5. Would you consider yourself a sociable person?
