RP: YSS Eucharis [Pre Mission 26] Getting Settled In (YE 38)

Having been quite thoroughly admonished for a bad idea, Shiho gave a little shrug. She was one of the lowest ranked present, and less than a year old to boot. She knew full well she wouldn't be able to come up with whatever would best serve this situation. Thick fingers ruffled her shaggy black mane and she looked around. Looked like she didn't quite escape the neko-blender by transferring from Orochi after all.

"Well if we gotta put ourselves at a disadvantage to force them to think we're not a threat, we have to do what we have to do. At least send in for a fistful of other armor teams so we're not going alone." No matter how anyone was framing this, all Shiho seemed to be hearing was the part about thousands of enemy soldiers.

"When's this happening anyway? If we're fighting overwhelming odds against us, I'd like to enjoy myself a bit before going."

Mehitabel stood beside the door, behind and to the side of the Admiral once Adelphress got all the way into the wardroom. The white winged spacer spared a glance up when her name was spoken, corners of her mouth lifting briefly to give the latecomer a smile as her hands manipulated data on a volumetric display from her wrist. Entering a note to see if Suites-heisho would let her have a copy of his model for the record, Belle's gaze abandoned their reptilian shipmate fairly quickly. Quite the cosmopolitan crew.

Her fingers paused when Shiho asked for a date; definitely important she cleared a space up at the head of the file.

Wazu listened and observed. The crew seemed to be providing bits and pieces of a plan, though a full A-Z option seemed to elude them. The red one also seemed to be mad at him... or maybe she just was looking at them and 'angry' was the standard emotion she displayed. Then there was Hanako, who was fast becoming the spitting image of Yui. It seemed that Yamatai wanted this war... but that was all something he could push out of his mind.

Defeating the station, stealing its data. That was something he could plan for.

“Trying to extract the data with subtle methods seems to have already failed. Instead of showing restraint in hopes they decide not to scuttle the station's data we should speed-blitz them and take the data before they can make the decision to scuttle? We could use a leap-frog attack to secure their server room within a few seconds of arrival.

--

0 Seconds in, the Eucharis exits Hyperspace within teleportation range of the station, and feeds targeting data for the ships in the area back to the first fleet.

6 seconds later the rest of the fleet arrives with their weapons pre-targeted, opening fire on their targets using the sensor data provided by the Eucharis. We bring 64 ships, giving us a 4 to 1 advantage over the defenders. 4 ships per enemy ship, and the remaining weapons focus fire on the stem of the station just below where the tower meets the saucer.

8 seconds after operation start the fleet's weapons fire will have hit the target. Massed fire from close range would be enough to overwhelm shields on a station of this size. The armor teams can then teleport into the server room.

10 seconds, Armor teams A and B will have materialized at the target. Team A will move out from the sever room while Team B secures the room. The fleet will then mop up whatever enemy ships remain.

The next 120 seconds would be a bit complex, as the armor team will need to disable the power to the enemy servers before their command decides to scuttle their data. Without power, they won't be able to issue delete command to their database.

600 seconds into the operation, Team B can use their teleporters to return to the ship, either carrying as much of the enemy computer system as they can or if we want to get creative we could try and sync the teleporters and bring that entire room back to the Eucharis' cargo bay.

610 seconds in the majority of the fleet warps out with the Eucharis. Leaving behind only enough ships to monitor the armor teams and pick off any power armors leaving the bottom of the station to assist the top of the station. This prevents them from preforming the same type of Leap-Frog attack on SaoY ships.

At that point the operation is effectively over, though we could have the armor teams continue to secure prisoners.

"That's a sound plan, no meteor but I like it," Candon commended Wazu, a much easier thing to do since their lunch last shore leave, "still, that shield is going to be a constant problem when their technicians start pushing more power to it. We'll need to target their shield projection arrays to keep them from recovering their shields." Candon closed his eyes for a moment as he called data from the SAINT database. "Every time they receive a shipment they lower the shields around the southern hemisphere. We'll need to thread the needle to avoid hitting a cargo ship but they'll come up on sensors easily. That'll put us right where we need to be for teleporting and give the fleet's first salvo a clean shot."

He turned to Tsuguka, "Jôtô Hei, the infantry could run this multiple ways. What do you think, is this something we can pull off?"

Telepathically he sent a clarification, 'which of those operations are you more comfortable running? Team A offensive or Team B defensive?'"

-Didn't you hire me to be the conservative one?- Tsuguka responded to Candon's telepathy first, before making another prolonged shrug, and then placing her hands on her hips.

"In terms of practicality... Yes, I would agree that following a cargo ship inside is worth a try." A brazen tone, out loud once more. "It's not like we can't just go hot the minute we are spotted."

"Giving the power armor teams such a luxury of changing tactics would be nice, but I do have to agree with Mister Wazu's aggressive plan of action in this instance." Looking at each of the new squad members in turn, it was always going to be difficult to determine what kind of pressure they could handle. Giving this kind of a task to untested Santo-Hei was more than a little reckless, even if their previous combat record involved a similar sort of mission. "Defensive actions will only result in more focused enemy fire. This needs to be as fast and as swift as possible... Using several of the spare Mindy 2 units by remote, equipped with teleporter units only, could perhaps be set up to grab the computer units themselves. This leaves the organics free for offensive actions."

Candon nodded, "We'll do that, but I don't trust drones to handle complex tasks under uncertain circumstances. Oshiro and I will ensure that the drones successfully complete their mission, which should be quick. Toyoe-hei, you'll take the infantry and locate the power distribution center. shut it down. We'll see rendezvous wherever is easiest."
'It's easier to destroy a target then to retrieve items undamaged, I'll take the harder objective. The squad is your weapon, use them first and your rifle second.'

He addressed his captain again. "Our team will be ready, Ma'am."

Jax, meanwhile, had decided to leave the strategy to the fighters.

He sat in his seat, sadly lamenting the fact that they wouldn't get to throw a giant fucking space rock at an enemy space station...

...He'd already thought up a good quip he would have said as the asteroid made impact.

The red nekovalkyrja simply offered Candon a resounding bow, characteristic hair braids jangling about her face. Couldn't doubt the logic that an intelligence officer and a scientist would be better off babysitting the drones. Let's just hope that they remembered to keep one eye out for unexpected counter-attacks...

Well, here they were, on the brink again. Fear would have just been nostalgic at this point. It had never solved anything for comrades in the past, and Tsuguka wasn't about to start now. She wondered if that was really healthy or not.

Was... Was she acting strange right now? Could they tell?... Quick, act like a person!...

Crossing both arms, a shoulder bumped into that of the blonde catboy engineer. Angular, venomous green eyes met his gaze with a distinctly unnerving intent.

"Howard-Hei." Just a whisper, but in a heavy, dour tone. "I'm sorry that your plan was slated."

Humor task complete. Eyes front. Compatriot interface protocol shutting down.

Oshiro Masumi's sapphire blue eyes had been on Candon Howard Suites as he talked, but they swiftly moved to Hanako as Suites said her name. She looked at Hanako steadfastly and nodded her head tersely in agreement when Suites said his team would be ready for her.

Belle made sure to project the timeline of Wazu's plan as their martial experts moved forward off of his outline, moving names between the two team headings on the side as Suites and Toyoe made their own decisions around it. It felt like they were really moving now, Calidius ruffled her wings intently...

Team A (Protection/Assault):
-Toyoe-hei
-Yuuki-hei
-Ishii-hei
-Hasegawa-hei
-Shigefume-hei

Team B (Retrieval)
-Suites-heisho
-Oshiro-hei
-2x Mindy-2 Drones

"Thanks, Tugs," Jax sighed silently, resting his head in his hands. "I mean, I even had this awesome line I was gonna say as we charged in! I was gonna say..."

"..."

"...Hold up- did you just make a joke?!"
He hissed in genuine surprise, starring at his crew mate in astonishment. What he'd just witnessed, it was akin to seeing Bigfoot. However, the warrior cat was back to her stony demeanor. The nekojin was starting to question whether or not he'd actually heard it!

Jax stared off into the distance, lost in thought.

...The universe was a strange place.

Junko groaned at the joke lightly, wincing. Held a hand over her chest as if physically pained. She might have tried for something like an elbow, if Tsuguka wasn't her superior officer. But it was probably best not to push her luck too far.

Tsuguka could look very scary when she tried.

"Wait, following a cargo ship in?" Junko blinked, turning the information over her in her head. Space was a premium on any space going construct. At some point, everyone needed to resupply.

"It might be a bit late for this idea, but here goes: Why don't we just go in on a cargo ship, Tsuguka-Hei? If we can mask us from sensors, we could hide our Mindy's in something like a water tank. We could be past security before they even know."

The red neko was either denying everything, or thought she had pulled it off unnoticed. Perhaps there was just a little glint of those elongated fangs, but...

"...Could that actually be done without being detected?" Tsuguka replied blankly, somewhat an open question towards the more scientifically inclined crew members. "The explosion caused by atmospheric re-entry after a teleport is what I am concerned about. Unless there is a way to find out which parts of the ship are specifically depressurized, how do get on board unnoticed? This might be a task for just Candon's team."

"Teleporting armor is no different than a ship folding," Candon inserted, "when we teleport we are folding the immediate space around the armor and inserting it where it doesn't belong, our destination. When we teleport from space the immediate area around our armor has no pressure, so not only would the water in their reservoir burst away from where we jump to, it would now implode on us immediately afterward. the crew of the ships would definitely feel a double impact, if not they'll notice a massive surge in water pressure through the entire ship... I should also mention it would really hurt to be in that armor. In general there is nothing stealthy about teleporting. In theory it's a good idea but in practice it just won't work well. We'd have better results teleporting onto their bridge and hijacking the ship. I still think it would be better to have Eucharis drop us in."

"Hijacking a cargo ship would be easy, Suites-Heisho. Only, it might be difficult to pass off for the crew. They're likely Kuvexian or Rixxikor, as opposed to something more humanoid." Junko scratched her chin. That did seem like the most likely crew complement, unless these were independents.

"And I wasn't suggesting we teleport straight into the tank, if they even have one. More likely, we'd have to enter into the cargo hold. Depending on how much time ahead we have, it might be easiest to sneak aboard when its docked somewhere. Otherwise, we can try dropping ahead of it, grab hold and hack the airlock if we have to."

It went without saying this was still going to be hard to pull off. To be fair, an easy way out didn't seem to be in the cards. Just getting on to this space fortress without being squashed down was a task in of itself. Fighting to the objective was going to be unforgiving.

Belle kept up the running list of changes now, on a divided display from Wazu's plan she listed the other competing plans with a series of question marks after several sections of the Yamataigo script. Personally, she felt quite proud of herself for keeping up with the discussion, taking notes, and doing it all in another language she had always felt uncomfortably stiff in. Perhaps it showed; her grammar was off or she missed a few obvious bits of metaphor in the mental translation but overall the point seemed to be coming through clear enough.

Her gaze was up again as the fervor seemed to build towards actually selecting a plan, but in the end, she felt it would come down to the Shosho's say...

Freyja listened to the debate over the plan quietly. This was a far cry from how her last mission was planned. She couldn't even recall being asked her opinion once. Due to her inexperience, she decided to keep quiet and listen this time. Several times she considered voicing her support for a plan, but she didn't think her support counted for much right now.

The new arrival was given a cursory glance, but not much more than that. Right now she was much more concerned about getting every detail of the plan into her head. Junko's latest suggestion sounded pretty good. Perhaps it time for her to speak up.

She spoke up in defense of Junko's plan. "Junko-chan.. I mean, Junko-hei's suggestion sounds promising. It would be riskier for us Infantry, but we could probably get in without being seen. We follow the Nepleslian's plan from there, except hold the fleet attack off until we're ready to escape. We send some sort of signal when ready. Bring the Eucharis to a designated spot and we could teleport onboard, using an attack by the fleet to cover our escape. They should be confused and vulnerable once we cut the power. They should think we're just a small team of infiltrators, they may not expect the fleet. "

Her cheeks were purple with embarrassment by the time she finished. She couldn't even look at anyone right now, afraid she had made a stupid suggestion and ruined the crew's opinion of her.
