Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Sora frowned at the notion that she did not have a teleportation unit on her Daisy this time. She looked to Yukari for a moment before scanning the bay for a good secure location to set up any wounded.

"Need to be out of direct line of sight to the bay doors; and need some sort of barricade to help fortify the position..." She murmured quietly to herself as she looked for crates; boxes; anything that she could use to put herself behind a barrier.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Sora's AIES helpfully provided a map and highlighted both medlabs on the Hoshi and the main hull as likely spot to assemble the wounded. The Hoshi's medlab was the closest and was also closest to the bridge.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Sora seemed a little surprised, for a moment she had thought they were restricted to the armor bay for the exercise.

"Pawn One, I'm heading to the lab on the main. They'll hit the other one closest to central first." She sent as she raised her plasma rifle up to a ready position and activated her suit's active camouflage.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Asher blinked his eyes as the visualization appeared on his visor. The Hei looked around at his surrounings, and listened in to Nytons orders. A grin ran over the Hei's face as he heard the klaxons, the urgnecy in his commanding officer's voice, and the situation at hand. The Mindy pilot popped of the rack.

"YEEEEAAAAHHH!" Asher yelled with glee as he landed, "We are ready! Kai! Yuril! On me!" The Hei spun two fingers in the air.

"Stick close, and don't fall behind!" Asher smirked as he waited for his group to rally. The Hei was ready to get into the fighting.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Two breaths. Yukari had enough time for two.

The first she took while thinking about her situation. She was easily in command of the most people, and things had not been set up as expected. It was of no consequence now. Her sensor data came to her in a flurry, and explained why things were shaking so much. She quickly routed the data to everyone with a flick of her mind, so all could see what was going on outside of the vessel.

In her next breath, a plan. One that had to be quick, concise and purposeful. One that would not see them all killed.

Even in the Daisy, she hated power armor. And now she had to move in it.

Coming off the rack, her own rifle in her hands, she let the breath out. "Acknowledged. Nimura, Hinoto and Pawn Two, go with Queen One and Two to the medical bay. Ichigo and Mara, with me to take control of the ship through the bridge."

The Shosa was not at all confident; there were too many of them, waiting to be picked off by teleporting Mindy armors with better weapons and tougher armor. It did not matter; the ship had to get out of the line of fire first, with ship's weapons second. "AIES, inquire about gaining control of the vessel through yourself. Hurry." Bringing her rifle to her shoulder, Yukari went to the entrance of the power armor bay and turned on her own camouflage; the Xiulurium coating worked wonders to blanket her signal.

"I will open the door, Queen One; cover me." With that, Yukari opened the door into the cargo storage chamber, rifle at the ready.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Sora advanced forward, her rifle at ready and aimed towards the door as it opened. She kept her eyes open as she kept a look out for any possible incoming targets. I would've killed for this when we went into Eve's stronghold.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Yoroko hopped off the armor rack...Wow, the difference between simulation and reality is so......minute. Yoroko thought before jumping back to business Boarders....right. Yoroko popped her rifle up and moved away from the racks, as she moved her AIES informed her of her weapons loadout

Left 50mm Gauss Cannon 18/18
Right 50mm Gauss Cannon 18/18
Countermeasures 20/20

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Understood." Miyoko quickly activated her own camouflage and fell into position behind Sora, rifle already in her hands and forcing herself to look away from the bay opening as she covered Yukari's advance. She could remember her own experience in the battle on the Meng Po--darting in and bombarding the enemies with missiles before they had time to react. It only now occurred to her just how thoroughly unpleasant it would be to be on the receiving end of such a treatment. She could only hope MEGAMI didn't have a taste for poetic irony.

Maybe I'm lucky and this Ketsurui has the Taisa's knack for combat...

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

While Yuril expected the simulation to expectedly feel and sound like the real deal, it still caught her offguard as it started up. She figured if she didn't know this was a simulation, she'd probably believe it was all real.

But just because it was a simulation, didn't mean she could relax. The neko knew she had to treat this to be very, very real. While it was her first time ever using the Mindy, she knew how to use it. She was born knowing how to use the suit, every little detail of it's workings that pertained to her combat use, she would know.

Yuril knew what the weapons package on her Mindy was capable of, and any other things it was carrying. The Aether Beam Rifle, for instance, could be used as a long-ranged rifle, a close ranged sword (that far outstripped the use of Agito in this case), or even could be used in a machinegun mode. A highly verstitle and all-purpose weapon.

Of course, she'd have to be highly careful with it. If she was careless and missed her target completely on the rifle mode, she could potentially punch a hole through the Miharu's inner hull and cause a catastrophic hull breach. Which may or may not kill her targets, but would likely kill her as well.

Well... I'll just be careful then and try and not use it that much then... Although I suppose if I need it, I could swap it out but...

She pushed the thoughts out of her head and focused on the matter at hand. First thing was first, do what she was ordered and repel the boarders. Yuril responded quickly to Asher-Hei's orders, popping her own Mindy off the rack and doubletiming it to his side, her rifle cradled in her hands ready to snap up and fire in a second's notice.

"Understood." replied the neko promptly to Asher-Hei's orders, she was a nice, all smiles neko when she wasn't in armor. But in this case, she was a soldier and didn't want to disappoint her creators or her crewmates

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Sir!" Kai said to Westwood-Hei, falling in behind him with Yuril. He held his rifle at the ready. He wasn't going to "die" this simulation. And besides, no one had a Durnadium sword to bug him with. "We're here Asher" The Yamataian called, Still searching for enemies.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Upon beginning the simulation, Masako actually pulled out her aether rifle while still on the rack and swept the armor bay with her sights before actually unhooking herself. Using her own gravitational manipulation, she floated away a bit until she was aimed at the hatch towards the innards of the Hoshi.

The young Warrant Officer smiled as Nyton seemed to be on the ball in reassigning people to meet personnel demands. She had planned to jump in and reassign people when she had seen the last list, but the Tactical Officer had been faster.

"Rook One, Knight Three," she sent mentally to the other two on her Fire Team. "Form up on me," she ordered before actually opening a direct communications to Asher and Nyton.

"Knight Two, I want us to tag team when we do our search and destroy," she said as she checked her own read out of her armament. "Since Support seems to be taking care of the Hoshi, I want us to take the Miharu. When we get to the Miharu, I want your Team to head Port. Team One will do Starboard as we do a deck by deck sweep." she explained to her second before speaking to Nyton.

"Bishop One, since the main problem with this plan is that we will have a hard time intercepting any teleportations into sensitive areas, I would like Auxiliary Team to be on stand-by for a rapid intercept as well as to reinforce one of the fire teams if necessary." she suggested as she awaited her team.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Sanjuro had to pause to recollect himself as the simulation started. He wasn't ever really an optimistic person to begin with. When combined with his under-confidence in anything beyond wrapping a bandage, and you had a recipe for a moment of recollection of his past exploits in armored combat. He recalled his last armor simulation back in basic; he really wished he hadn't.

"Acknowledged. Nimura, Hinoto and Pawn Two, go with Queen One and Two to the medical bay. Ichigo and Mara, with me to take control of the ship through the bridge."

Suzuka's orders quickly pushed Sanjuro out of his subconscious pity-party and back to the matter at hand. The medical officer raised and readied his weapon as he snapped to attention, stating a stolid "Yes, ma'am!" as he hurried over to catch up behind Sora and the escort coming with them. Not wanting to get in the way of his superior, Sanjuro made it a point to take the flank...it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Serizawa had not piloted a Daisy before but assumed that, as long as he stayed within the confines of the Miharu. Sure, the gravimetric drive wasn't as advanced as the Mindy II's CFS but it was enough for the purposes of the mission. He quickly took account of his weaponry. Two rifles, one firing plasma and the other firing positrons, were at his disposal. His first choice was the positron rifle, despite he had never used one before. Seeing as the Miharu still possessed atmosphere-like conditions, plasma probably wasn't the best type of energy to use. Besides, all he had to do with a rifle, positron or not, was point and shoot. The rest he would figure out along the way.

Other than his rifles, the scientist's Daisy came equipped with mini-missiles and tactical drones. Though the missiles didn't immediately interest him, the drones did. If anyone appreciated information, it was Serizawa. After Claymere had ordered him to stay with the support team, Serizawa deployed the drones and took up position behind Sora, Yukari and company.

Leveling his positron rifle at the open door leading into the cargo storage chamber, Serizawa broadcasted a transmission from his Daisy to Sora's, "Let me help you cover, Queen One."

With that, his drones zipped into the cargo room and began to scout the area for the enemy. While this happened, Serizawa relayed the feed his drones were sending back to the rest of the group trying to get to the medical bay.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Asher listened to Masako's orders intently, and then turned to his two squadmates.

"You ladies catch that?" Asher said with the same glee in his voice, along with his total disregard for Kai's gender. "Good! Less' go!" With that, Asher whirled off out of the bay and into the hallways moving towards the upstairs of the Miharu.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"You read my mind, Knight One. Auxiliary team will assist Support team and stay at midpoint to assist Fire teams if necessary." Nyton replied in a communication to Masako.

More information was being brought in via AIES as the other members began to broadcast their own actions and Nyton added it to the rapidly increasing amount of battlefield data. The speed of it was almost mind boggling but he compensated by thinking his directions into the data stream rather than speaking it. It forced him to think accurately faster to avoid any missteps in the process as he tried to get out all of his ideas quickly. He started with his team while firing off the next query at nearly the same time, just like when he was reading all the screens of data simultaneously.

A small volumetric window with a red flashing highlighted border appeared in Takuma, Ichi, and Naoko's screens.

ATTENTION: This is Bishop One. Auxiliary team is going to assist Support. Form up on me and we will assemble outside the medlab. Begin to move out in two seconds.

Along with the window there was a small map of the Hoshi which showed the location of where they would stand guard. It was the small hallway that led to the connection junction (point 8, Miharu Main Deck) which was also where the two Fire teams would enter the Miharu. It also showed each of them posted on each side of the hall just before the cargo storage chambers (point 3 Hoshi Deck), two to each wall and staggered; Nyton in front with Naoko on the port side, Takuma in front with Ichi on the starboard side.

A screen with the map showing his intended plan of movement for the Auxiliary team was sent to the other team leaders to continue the flow of coordinated information flowing. He then sent another message to the Miharu's MEGAMI via the same means he was using to his team mates.

Miharu show me any signs of the boarders and where they may be located within and outside the ship. Keep me posted to their status.

Another window opened up which Nyton scanned that showed him the layout of the entire ship. With realtime views cycling this allowed him to stay on top of the battlefield environment.

As data from his team mates was also being updated, Nyton kept tabs on every function as well as a window showing him what they saw next to their status. Realizing which weapon Serizawa had initialized, Nyton also sent a window with a message to Ichi.

WARNING: Positron rifle is not for atmospheric use. Use plasma rifle.

Fire Team Two had made their rush so Nyton decided that it was time for the Auxiliary team to begin following up. Quickly deploying both support drones to go before him to warn him of any danger even as he was receiving the view from Asher's cameras. The drones would stay close by and overhead by a few feet; one pointed to Nyton's rear and the other to his fore in preparation of scouting the cargo storage chambers.

Nyton then stepped out, keeping his rifle up and ready as he moved quickly to take his place in the hallway. He swept his rifle around the hall carefully so as not to flag any friendlies while providing cover to both the Fire Teams and Support Team as they moved to secure the ship.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

There he was, in another simulation that felt so real he could recognize the small scratches in the bay floor from where he dropped a wrench.

Looks like it's time to go.

Tom removed himself from his supporting structure, checked his systems and ammo status, and scanned his immediate surroundings. Everything seemed to check out ok.

Then came the reassignment order, which made Tom feel very, very angry. Damn it, Nyton, if I was supposed to be on the fire team, tell me that in the FIRST place! he thought to himself. He felt woefully underarmored for first assault, considering he was in a Daisy while the majority of his assault teammates were in Mindys, as he had planned in the first place.

The Yamataian shrugged his shoulders, the anger subsiding into a needed acceptance of the circumstances. Things would just have to work out somehow, and, luckilly, he'll have an opportunity to argue with his superior later if it really bothered him that much. Perhaps it was the unpleasant rush of coming battle that made him feel on edge.

Asher's monkeying around didn't help, either, but the Yamataian held his tongue. Maybe that was just his way of coping...

Tom took position behind Masako. "Ma'am, I may be underarmored for direct assault. Should I grab an aether rifle or something else?"

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Serizawa received the new orders from Bishop 1 and immediately began to comply. The first thing he did was switch his positron rifle for his plasma rifle. Right. Positrons would no doubt react with the air, Serizawa thought to himself.

Once he had the proper weaponry selected, Serizawa moved out, his drones trailing close behind him. He took up his position at the starboard side of the hallway as he had been ordered. There, he and his drones kept an eye out for the enemy.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Takuma acknowledged Nyton's orders and took up a position in front on the starboard side. He leveled his plasma rifle and checked its condition. All green, he noted. For a second, Takuma thought about what the person controlling the simulator could do. The thought of the hell they could create did not help the pre-battle tension, so he ignored that thought.

"Well," he said the three other soldiers in his squad. "Good luck."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Copy" Yoroko said as she fell in formation with Masako and Tom. Clearing the deck huh... Yoroko thought as she scanned the area behind her. Yoroko paused for a second while looking at the equipment list of her mindy which the AIES had brought up. Gauss cannons....I think I like this, but first as Yoroko finished her thought the 6 NSBs deployed from their hangars, let's cover all of the bases. she thought as she ordered them to cover her blindspots and relay all data back to the AIES.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Miharu relayed to Yukari (and in turn through their local PANTHEON net to each of the team leaders) with information about the Nozomi scout whom kept pounding over the Miharu with its weapon pods, blasting zesuaium plates and leaving scars over the rollbar. So far, the armor seemed to be holding.

Then, there was a significant sensor net failure as damage was reported under the sensor dome - both the instrumentation there and the monitor room had been knocked nonfunctional; several heat signatures there hinted at explosions inside the ship rather than coming from outside - there were no hull breaches.

This likely was the first sign of teleported boarders. After all, if Masako and Takuma had managed to get the jump on the Meng Po's monitor room without being detected before... Black Spiral agents were likely able to do the same.

"Ahnn! I bet they attacked the first thing that looked like the ship's bridge!" Mara grouched over the comm net - she wasn't entirely wrong: KFY had a tradition of installing a bridge dome on the dorsal sides of their ships, like the Sakura and Plumeria classes. Seeing the Miharu was nothing like previously produced ships, the boarders were left to guess about the ship's internal layout thanks to the stealth coating.
