Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Unless the Miharu has some kind of sewer hidden away, I don't really see that as a possibility," Serizawa said with a short laugh.

Serizawa glanced over at the Executive Officer, the Tactical Officer and the Armor Wing leader conversing amongst each other.

"They certainly seem focused on the simulation. I wonder if this is good or bad for us."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"I think it'll be a productive training simulation," Sora smiled as she looked from Serizawa to the other officers and then back to Serizawa again. "At least they are attempting some coordination for this. I don't think it'll be a bad thing but I do understand your reservations."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Yukari did not feel coordinated. She felt trapped. Hesitant. Drained of blood, of fight, of hardness. They were soon to be thrust into a mission -- not even a real one -- that put them at an immediate disadvantage. Nor were they going to be given quarter as last time. They were going to be fighting Yamatai armors piloted by traitors that knew the crew's tactics.

Her brave words from before ... her determination about protecting the crew? Those things felt as sturdy as the salmon Tom cooked for her. There was no weight to her anymore. She felt light, pushable, pliable.

She could not be. She had to be part of the team, did she not? Others were relying on her to do her part. This was not a time for individual emotions or pains; she had to be tough, solid, an immovable object of will.

Did Tom feel that way? Yukari looked at his face.

" ... " He looked as tough as he ever did, even when he had that sly, sweet hint of a little grin that hid a joke or witty remark in the thin nook his lips made. Damn him.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Nyton took another breath to think for a moment longer and then decided it had been long enough. "Alright I think we have our plan for the most part. We'll hammer out the details as we form squads." he said before he motioned for Tom, Yukari, Sora, and Serizawa over to him. Once they arrived he began to go over what he and Masako had discussed.

"I want to quickly hash out a few things with our command structure. I know Westwood is not here yet but he can be filled in when he arrives. We're going with a four team formation. Two Fire teams, one Auxiliary, and one Support. Kurohoshi-Juni and Westwood-Hei are going to lead the two fire teams. I will lead the auxiliary, and Suzuka-Shosa will be in charge of the support team. The fire teams are going to be our primary assault force. The auxiliaries will provide tactical and combat support for the fire teams. The support team will be our situational, engineering, medical, and stand by personnel." he quickly explained.

"Now Kurohoshi-Juni came up with most of the team assignments with some minor input from myself. Freeman-Juni, you have some combat experience in armors along with your battle time so you will be with me in the auxiliary team. Suzuka-Shosa, you also have much combat experience so I want you leading the support team since most of our dedicated armor pilots are going in the fire teams."

With a brief pause Nyton then looked directly at Sora. "Ketsurui Kohosei, you also have had a good deal of experience in armor combat on top of your medical knowledge. I want you in the support team as our primary combat medic. Any casualties from the fire teams will be brought to your position to be treated."

Nyton then shifted to look at Tom and Ichi. "The auxiliary team will be our primary method of extracting casualties along with providing tactical assistance to any of the fire teams as needed which is why I want Freeman-Juni and Serizawa-Hei. You both have combat time in an Armor without being dedicated pilots yourselves. Now according to your file, Serizawa, your primarily field is in science however you have also performed medical work alongside Ketsurui-Kohosei. Your role in the auxiliary team will be to stabilize anyone who has been critically injured for removal from the battle site. Do you feel up to this or do I need to bring Ashitaka-Heisho for this? With your combat experience I was hoping you would be able to do this best so the Kohosei can focus on further treatment." Nyton then paused and waited for Ichi's reply before going any further.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Serizawa nodded once and replied, "I have no objections, Claymere-Shoi. As far as I know, I'd be the best choice for this kind of role. If I could, I'd like to request a Mindy with a Barrier Shield Module in advance."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"We only have six Mindy II armors though," Mara piped in as she came in, her blond hair playing over her shoulders. "Some of us are definitely going to have to settle for Daisies."

Hinoto, a softer-looking sprite with silver hair and eyes came behind Mara, along with the quiet dark-haired Nimura and her more exuberant twin sister Ichigo.

Hinoto bowed. "May we be of service?"

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Sora nodded to Nyton as she was given her assignment. She smiled softly as she waited for the tactical officer to continue.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"I will be in a Daisy M6-1C," Yukari said, looking to the sprites and nodding. "I would like Hinoto to be in the other 1C. We have 18 armors left. Should the Mindy armors be split between the two fire teams?"

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Tom nodded.

"I am familiar with the Daisy, so I will operate one as well."

He cracked his knuckles.

"Sir," he said, looking over to Nyton. "Where are our tactical withdrawal points for injured personnel? Depending on the situation, we may have to be extremely flexible with where we can go and what we can do. For example, if we have an injured crewmember, do we have time for medical treatment, if, say, the enemy is making a beeline for engineering?"

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Nyton took note of Serizawa's acceptance and listened to the others input as well. He then looked over to Tom.

"Due to the enemy's ability to teleport around us we will not have set tactical withdrawal points based on geographical location. We will be starting in the main armor bay however as soon as our fire teams have swept through other areas we will be moving the support team to a new location as the situation permits and according to team leader's discretion." he said.

Looking over to sprites Nyton gave them a nod of welcome. "I want Mara and Nimura as first line replacements for the fire teams. Mara especially has had combat experience and I know Nimura has flown under combat conditions. Hinoto and Ichigo will assist in the support team however it should be clear that at any time given the situation anyone from support might be called upon to replace someone from either the fire or auxiliary team."

Nyton stopped for a beat and then looked directly at Yukari. "Replacement combatants will stand by with the support team and provide extra security so that should an attack come from behind your team will not be helpless. It is also why I wanted combat experienced personnel included. Should a member of a fire team go down the auxiliary team will deliver replacements and extract the injured. That way the fire teams can continue their mission with less delay to treat injured soldiers. Its not perfect and we are limited on personnel despite our recent increase."

Nyton then paused and began to think on who would receive the Mindy armors while awaiting any further input anyone might have.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

A volumetric window opened next to the officer, showing Kotori seated on her command seat in the bridge. "Everyone, the simulation is ready. If you'll step inside, you should see a recreation of the simulation suits we used back in Scorpio Base."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Nyton acknowledged Kotori's announcement and faced everyone to address them.

"We'll put two Mindy armors in each fire team and reserve two in the support team. Kurohoshi and Westwood will decide who on their teams uses their allotted Mindys. The auxiliary team will use the Daisy M6-1B. We may find ourselves fighting outside of the ship plus the spacy version has more maneuverability and stronger plasma rifle." he said before looking over to the doors of the simulation room opening.

"The others aren't here yet. What is keeping them? I thought they knew to be here shortly after the briefing."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"You know... I can just organize my room later, we should probably get to the VR room" Kai said, turning down the hallway and walking off towards the VR room.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"They are new -- we do not know if they are used to this kind of treatment," Yukari said quietly. "They will be here soon."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Sum'bitch, you right, man!" Asher said, startled, beginning to notice that they had taken more time than usual to get started around. Then noticed what he just said, coughing into a fist.

"You're right," he started calmly, moving to the door. "Let's get going! Come on, last one there sleeps in the armor bay tonight!" Asher said as he started off, darting past Kai.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Although much of the tactical talk was easy enough to follow and understand, Sanjuro still felt very uneasy about entering this armor simulation. Despite having the knowledge of how to pilot a powered armor, and having a slight amount of previous experience, the medical officer remained uncertain about the outcome. He kept his skepticism to himself, however, regaining his solemn composure as he stepped forward from the crowd to present himself to Nyton, bowing deeply before addressing him as he suppressed the urge to gulp his nervousness down.

"Claymore-Shoi, I am to understand you have assigned me to assist one of the fire teams...although, I am afraid I did not catch the individuals who compose said team. Would you please enlighten me as to whom my companions for this simulation will be?"

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Ashitaka-Heisho, you are going to be in the support team. As it stands the support team will be commanded by Suzuka-Shosa and consist of Ketsurui-Kohosei, Saito, Sato, Mara, Hinoto, Ichigo, and Nimura. You will only be a part of the fire teams if it becomes necessary." Nyton explained.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

While Yuril wasn't so sure if Asher was joking around about that... She wasn't really wanting to find out. Plus, she was somewhat eager to get the simulation started with. It would be her first one really, her first experience with using a power armor had been back at Fort Ready... And it had involved live Mishnu, the neko recalled that situation quite clearly as she hurried off to catch up to Asher.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Support team. Oh, good. While Miyoko still didn't relish the idea of combat, she liked the sound of 'support team.' It sounded less likely to involve her being shot at by three people at once. Besides, it was composed of sprites, other greenshirts, and a technician. Perhaps she wouldn't look quite as bad--most of them were probably almost as inexperienced as she was. On the other hand, that also meant she couldn't count on them to save her ass if she got in over her head. Having hotshots around had its advantages at times.

And, of course, she was on a team with Mara. Though she considered her debt to the sprite mostly repaid--not that Mara had ever agreed that there was a debt--she still fully intended to do everything in her power to try keeping the sprite safe, even if this was just a simulation. Besides, it'd look bad to show the same lack of valor again. Can't make a bad first impression on the rookies, she brooded nervously, fiddling with her collar.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Yoroko looked down at her communicator and let out an explanation of surprise. "Yea, let's get there before we're too late." with that said Yoroko dashed off after Asher.
