Re: [restart point] Mission 2

With a smile and a quick adjustment of her long red hair with her right hand, Sora walked over and out the door of their quarters towards the VR chamber.

As they walked together, she tried to keep an even pace beside him so she wouldn't accidentally leave him behind.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"I guess we should go to my room first, i just flung everything in there, it's probably a mess" Kai said to Asher, looking at the short man for a moment before glancing at Yoroko and continuing "But maybe Yoroko might need some help first, my stuff doesn't matter, none of it is fragile."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"I am sure Claymere-Juni and Kurohoshi-Juni will be prepared," Yukari said, wincing through a smile. "They consider such things often, I believe."

Though I do not, she thought. I am a starship operator; my tactics were fortunate last time, but this time they will not be. Koto-san will not be gentle.

"Let us go," she said softly after her thoughts had collected themselves. "We can go to the port VR room."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Nyton said:
"With all the personnel available I'm thinking a four squad layout. Two fire teams, a tactical and support team, and one auxiliary team. The two attack squads would move out to seek and destroy while supporting each other. The auxiliaries will move to support a team in trouble if both teams are individually engaged. We could put most of our medical personnel in support and have one with the reserve team should they have to assist with casualty stabilization. Then they can clear casualties to the support team who secures them. What do you think?"

Masako held a pondering expression as they entered the entered the simulation room. "It sounds like the best we can do really," she replied before smiling up at the officer. "Personally, I'm more interesting in who's going to be on what team," she said before bringing out a datapad and punching up the roster.

"I know I will be leading one of the attack squads," she commented before moving on. "I'd like Westwood-Hei commanding the Second Attack Squad with Nakamura-Hei and Tsukade-Hei, so they can get used to working with each other. I know it limits us since we're putting our dedicated power armor pilots in one group, but for them to get experience with working together I'd take the risk. In the First Attack Squad, it will be Mizuno-Hei and Freeman-Juni, where Mizuno-Hei will probably be fire support leaving Freeman-Juni and me as the more experienced pilots." she paused for a moment as if to try and recall Tom's skills as a armor pilot on Bowhordia, but she had difficulty muddling through the chaos of that mission.

"Anyway, two teams of three armors each is for the best. One because three armors can move more easily than larger number, but we still have the firepower necessary. The Auxiliary Squad will probably be larger and pardon me saying this, but I'd like you to command it." she replied hesitantly, hoping offense wasn't taking by the comment. "My reasoning behind this is because you are our strategic mind in this endeavor while tactics are usually left to the team leaders. You will also be commanding a four-armor team with Kimura-Heisho, Sato-Hei, and Saito-Hei. I'm including Saito-Hei because we may need someone to check on any wounded and whether they can fight or need to be sent back to the support team, which will contain who is remaining." She paused once again before scratching the tip of her left ear in thought. "Is...that satisfactory?"

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Nyton went into thinking mode as he listened to Masako. "Hmm, yes that does sound pretty good. I was thinking the auxiliary team should have an actual dedicated medic like Serizawa or Ashitaka. I believe Saito would be better suited in a role with the support team. She could aid the other medics as well as perform a variety of other roles if need be." he said.

"That would leave the support team with a large number to work with. Hopefully despite not being combat oriented they will be able to handle themselves should any of the enemy Mindy's engage them. The majority of the team would be made up of veterans with some combat experience like Yukari. Unfortunately we only have so many Mindys ourselves. I suppose we can spread them out to each team somehow. And then what do we do with the sprites? I thought they were also taking part in this engagement?" Nyton asked.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

After Kai mentioned that Yoroko might need help, Yoroko looked down at her communicator, checking the time, "I don't think my room is ready yet, let's go to yours first and maybe mine will be done by then. Besides, I won't have too much trouble unpacking anyway." Yoroko said as she looked at Kai. "Group trip?" Yoroko asked eying the three others standing around her.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

After marching through the length of the ship, Serizawa arrived at the port-side recreation room. It had been the closest one to their quarters but not by much. The scientist waited for the door to slide open before he motioned for Sora again.

"As always, ladies first," he spoke with a partial smirk.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Sora smiled brightly and appreciatively to Serizawa as she walked into the port rec room before him. Her long red hair swayed as she walked forward and her skirt shifted ever so slightly upwards as well. She glanced around the room to see who had arrived already and to see if they were actually going to be using real power armor for the simulation.

"I wonder how this will work out instead of actually leaving the ship for familiarity training. This should be a very unique experience for us, don't you think, Ichi-kun?"

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Heeeey, that's a good idea, we'll all have a field trip with Mr. Westwood. To everyone's rooms, unless we want to make some 'special stops'." Asher grinned slyly, his eyes trailing off in another direction.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"It will certainly be much more convenient," Serizawa said as he followed Sora into the recreation room.

His eyes lowered their gaze over Sora's behind and her slowly-rising skirt. He could only wonder if that it merely was a problem common with all skirts or merely a design aspect of the skirt-version of the Star Army uniform. Either way, the scientist hoped that Sora never got wise to the problem. Although she was almost literally walking eye-candy, Serizawa didn't want to give up even a little bit of the plentiful visuals he was privileged with.

"We won't have to spend any time suiting up and it's probably a great deal safer than field training."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"True, at least we're probably focusing more on squad tactics this time. The last few missions have been choke point fighting," Sora mentioned with a soft sigh as she toyed with the bracelet on her right wrist for a moment before glancing back at Serizawa with a smile. "At least this simulation isn't going to be some dark, foreboding Mishhu sewer, or rather, I don't think it is."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Tom and Yukari soon arrived at the port recreation room, and after touching Tom's shoulder, she stepped away to Nyton and Masako. "Shoi-san, Juni-san -- could I make a suggestion?"

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Takuma had been looking through a recap of the mission briefing, courtesy of the ship's MEGAMI. Too much to remember right now... he thought to himself. He closed the data pad and slid it into his pocket. Afterwards, he glanced up and saw Asher around the recruits, about to go on a "field trip."

Takuma couldn't resist a small laugh at this and walked over to them. "Mind if I tag along Westwood-Hei?"

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Nyton looked over to Yukari in response. "Yes, Shosa-san? Please feel free to give us your input." he replied with a polite nod.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"The MEGAMI and CIES should be ordered to shut down immediately upon the start of the simulation if it is not disabled already," she said, unsure of her own idea. "We used it against the Meng Po; Kotori might wish to use the same scenario with us."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"You realize that if you do that, I won't be able to use my internal forcefield system to help out, right?" Miharu asked the officers.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Nyton's face grew pensive and hardened. "That was amongst one of many nightmare scenarios I have run through my head. If the MEGAMI and CIES are disabled we will lose most control of the battlefield. I was afraid that Kotori would send the Black Spiral Mindys into the core and destroy her like that." he said.

Placing his right hand on his waist and holding out the left Nyton then went on to count off his concerns. "There is also the simple maneuver of sending Armors into our undefended engineering section. A few easy strikes and they can kill everyone without having to engage us. Or perhaps they have a NIWS like the one we encountered before. If that were unleashed I don't think we would be able to organize an effective enough counterstrike with so many Mindys engaging us. Perhaps the enemy ship will also engage us while we are busy repeling invaders. Those of us without teleportation would be unable to escape the destruction of the ship and the survivors would get picked off. It is hard to know just what plan Kotori is going to use. Perhaps a shifting combination of all of them depending on how well we do."

Nyton then shook his head. "I think the best course of action we can take is to keep our heads and fight as hard as possible. This action is about team work and how well we can work together. Whether we win this battle is of no consequence." he said.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Yukari nodded. "I trust your judgment, Shoi-san. Thank you." She bowed slightly and turned away back to Tom. She did not want to argue with Nyton or question his tactics; she would step in if necessary and no sooner.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Hey! Sure thing, man! Everyone, say hello to Takuma Kimura!" Asher made a gesture at Takuma as if he was introducing a brand new invention.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"Ah, takuma, I believe we've met, except you introduced yourself as Kiyoshi" Kai gave a sly grin, as Asher had just blown any trick Takuma had been trying to pull on the new crewmembers.
