Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Miyoko cackled gleefully inside of her suit as the simulator faded away. An entire combat simulation and she hadn't been shot, beaten, done anything stupid, or subsequently been berated for it! Now she just had to try not to fall asleep during the debriefing--and since it seemed that plenty of action had taken place where she wasn't, that could be a problem. Well, that, and the fact that she typically found debriefings dull as hell anyway. Too much discussion of tactics, not enough... everything else in the universe.

Oh well. She'd just gone through weeks of lectures. One more wouldn't hurt.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

One second he was keyed up on adrenaline and his heart was pumping. The next he was just sort of hanging there as though trying to regain his balance.

Nyton looked at the message and paused to think on how it was that they won.

MISSION SUCCESS
SS Meng Po and all attached assets have declared their unconditional surrender.

All involved personnel are to report to the wardroom for debriefing.

What just happened? was the ongoing query foremost in Nyton's mind. He would continue to ponder on that all the way while he finished unsuiting, left the simulation chamber, and arrived at the wardroom.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Yukari blinked as she saw the message.

That was not Kotori's way of doing things. Something was not right. As she exited the simulator, she floated down to the floor with her eyes questioning the message. Surrender? When we were losing? Kotori is not a woman of mercy ... what has happened?

She looked around at the other suits -- one was open. Nimura's. Where was she? Had something broken during the simulation? Why not ask Tom to go as well? With questions and no answers, Yukari rubbed her arm and waited for the others to come out.

Nyton was in a hurry, she saw; he did not stop to talk, going straight to the wardroom. The ending to the simulation made her cautious. This was too unlike Kotori.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

That was sudden. One moment the simulator was running then... Over. With them the victors.

The hell?

Still, the simulator was done and Yuril had her orders to report for debriefing. She'd think about it later, or maybe the answer would come during the debrief.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Sora had noticed the confused faces of her superior officers and inwardly frowned as she decided to hurry to the wardroom to find out what had just happened. She was so intent on discovering the answer to the burning question of why, she didn't wait for Serizawa as she normally would have done.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Kai was just about to do something about his missing enemy when the world dissolved around him, leaving him with nothing but a victory message and the inside of a suit. The heck? he thought, getting out and reporting to the wardroom as instructed. he just couldn'tget over them not actually finishing the simulation. He was sure there was more to it. Remembering Yuril and Yoroko were in the other VR room, Kai walked in that direction, hoping to catch one of his friends leaving so he could talk.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

When the notice of victory reached Sanjuro, for the first few seconds he was far too busy with his face buried on the floor and hands clasped over the back of his head, his weapon scattered a few feet away from his from his dive. When he finally caught note of the message, the medical officer heaved a relaxed sigh and slowly stood back up to assess the situation.

From what he could tell, it wasn't he nor Sora whom had 'won' the simulation; they were getting their rears handed to them. Sanjuro figured that the others had much more success as he stepped out of his simulation armor to ascertain the situation....and was quick to notice some equally confused expressions plaguing his peers. Sanjuro's sense of relief for actually surviving the fight was instead replaced with a bit of unease as he watched both Suzuka-Shosa and Ketsurui-Shoi Kohosei leave in a bustle. Perhaps something had, by chance gone wrong...somebody might be injured.

After a second or two of indecisive glances around the room, he quickly gave chase.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

The message appeared Yoroko's screen, Whas that all of them? she asked herself silently. No, that is impossible, no one boards a ship with only four power armors. She thought as she stepped out of the simulation suits soft mesh. "Yuril, do you know what is up?" Yoroko asked.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"...whaaaa?" Takuma groaned out loud when his simulator shut off. He was about to see if his broke, but then the surrender dialog came through. He sighed and opened the simulator but decided to stay and lie there for a minute, staring at the ceiling. "A few minutes of action then another briefing, huh?"

The pod was not a comfortable place to lie in for him, so he crawled out and went out the door. Many had already left, with only a few stragglers left. As he walked out, he did think it felt a little strange to surrender so soon. Meh, I bet something important came up for the senior staff. Kotori probably found something important for them to do. He gave a yawn and walked out of the room.

Many were busy rushing to the wardroom, so when no one was watching him, he turned down a different corridor and headed towards his room. I'm sure I can either hear the details of the briefing later or have them sent by Miharu. He got into his room and closed his door. The technician fell on top of his bed and looked at the ceiling.

What if something really did happen? What if that message was the enemy leading the entire crew into a trap? He laughed a little at this last thought. Man, I must be more tired then I thought...

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Tom hopped out of his pod and looked to the rest of the crew who were either gone or leaving their own pods. He look frustrated, and he was. If they were going to do a simulation, they sure as heck better do it thoroughly.

This conclusion felt half-hearted, like Kotori was throwing them a bone for doing so badly just so she could berate them later. Or maybe not. Kotori wasn't that cruel, was she?

It was more likely a ship malfunction that needed his immediate attention. After all Nimura was already gone, probably tending to any ship errors. But if they were serious enough to stop a simulation, why didn't Kotori just let him do his job as he had requested in the first place?

Tom stole a second to follow Yukari and grin meekly at her.

"Mighty strange way to end a simulation, eh?"

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Yukari did not reply immediately. Her hand went to her pistol, but she decided against it; a real threat would not be affected by one Neko wielding her weapon. "It is not by choice that Kotori did this," Yukari said. "Something is amiss. Shall we find out what?"

She turned to look at his tall frame and smiled a little. She did not like her own thoughts at the moment, but there was no point dwelling on them.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

"What. tha'. shit." Asher growled loudly as he stepped out of his simulator. The Hei's red eyes glared fiercly as he continued to grunt out of frustration.

"They shoot my fuckin' foot off, and I only get one kill!? What tha' fuck, man!?" The Yamataian went on, throwing his arms up into the air. "It gets all good'n'shit and then we stop? I'm serious, man, I'mma about ta' fuckin' hit somethin'!"

The Hei cursed angrily all the way to the Wardroom.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Masako stepped out of her 'coffin' with a slightly perturbed look. She knew she had been at least one mistake by letting a Mindy get that close, but she could have continued fighting with a gut wound of that nature. The major factor of her near death state in the simulator came from something she hadn't expected...friendly fire. The Armor Wing Leader let out a sigh and placed a petite hand upon her forehead.

But then another thought came to mind, why had the simulation ended the way it did? Their Taisa was not a woman to leave things half-done and the simulation could have gone on until the Miharu's crew had been destroyed. Noting several senior staff rushing off in a hurry, the young warrant officer joined them. Maybe I'll get some answers.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

As the crew flocked to the wardroom, Kotori and Nimura entered from the corridor which lead to the main passageway. The Taisa was all business, swift strides eating the distance until she came close to the two rectangular tables with Nimura following behind her.

"Please be seated," Kotori asked them, briefly gesturing to both tables. Nimura, sporting a large bruise over her left cheek, walked on and got herself seated.

The golden-eyed nekovalkyrja studied those whom assembled and looked over to Yukari. "Where is Kimura?"

"Ah, he's in the toilet. Taking a pee," Miharu quickly interjected.

"Knowing he was in the toilet was enough, Miharu," Kotori sighed.

* * *

Back in Takuma's room, Miharu's MEGAMI computer addressed the yamataian man: "Ah, the Taisa is waiting for you in the wardroom. She actually noted your absence - you might want to go."

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Sora quietly sat down in one of the chairs to wait for the debriefing to begin.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Yuril shook her head at her friend.
"No, I'm not sure what happened Yoroko-san... I'm sure we'll find out soon enough."

The neko took a empty seat in the room once she was present.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Miyoko was oblivious to any signs that something was amiss. She hadn't been involved enough with the action to know that the group wasn't exactly winning, and she certainly wasn't going to question a battle simulation terminating early. Such was it that she was one of the few who took their time getting to the wardroom, then slid quietly into a seat and relaxed as she waited for the briefing to begin.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Kai soon came sauntering into the wardroom, seemingly with a scowl on, but he was just being a bit absent minded. Sitting down next to Yuril, the Yamataian turned to her and said "Oh, Yuril-chan, How did you think the sim went? I was kinda bummed it ended so soon"

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Yoroko took an empty seat near Asher once she had entered the room. Hmmm, maybe that was all of the mindies after all... Yoroko thought to herself.

Re: [restart point] Mission 2

Takuma winced at the message. Not even started and I was already noticed missing! Sighing, he got up and walked out of his room. It seemed quiet walking through the halls alone. Rather eerie, but the technician kept walking until he reached the wardroom.

Upon entry, he grabbed the closest chair and put his head on the table until the debriefing began.
